Nice and colorful place to walk...
Nice area in DT Calgary to walk around. Nice shops and good places to eat.
I’m sure the street is normally very lively but when we went there around mid-July it was desert and most restaurants were closed. I ate a McDonald’s ice cream cone and we took pictures with the giant trans pride flag and the giant universal pride flag on the floor. Fun times!
gorgeous avenue. amazing for pictures when it's not rush hour and it connects to the Core
Go at night with the beautiful lights. A few hallmark made for tv Xmas movies have used this in the background. There are homeless but police are visible to ensure it's safe.
A genuine Fußgängerzone, a rarity in the Americas and we did it decades ago in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Pride crooswalk is at Centre Street intersection.
Specifically the Devonian Gardens is a great place to hang out. My daughter really enjoyed the playground and checking out the water with fish and fountains
Vibrant street
Historic part of Calgary not the safest all the time due to druggys and people asking for money
Loads of shops, bars, restaurants etc.
During the Stampede, the street becomes the hotspot. I would recommend the First Flip, usually held here during the Stampede

Historic Avenue
So many markets and stores to see while you walk down Calgary's famous Stephen Avenue shopping area
I like to hang out here. Busy Street filled with business men, and just lots of people. Loved it when they had the farmers market on Tuesday's! :)
Ugh, I walked out after ten minutes! Do you have anything more over priced or exclusive!?!?
Good to spend evening with loved ones
Great place but all the crack heads spoil it....
Nice place for the family
The best time to come and visit this place is during the summer time. So attractive. Just so you can feel the soul of Calgary
Great atmosphere and food year round.
Skippable. The old buildings were cool but there’s really not much to see other than restaurants and bars.
A wonderful place to sit and stay warm in the winter
Great place in city
(Translated) Nice pedestrian area with shops and restaurants of all kinds. We were lucky enough to be there during a market where regional products were sold. (Original) Schöne Fußgänger-Zone mit Geschäften und Restaurants jeglicher Art. Hatten das Glück, während eines Marktes dort zu sein, bei dem regionale Produkte verkauft wurden.
Great place for a walk
Must do!! You’ll enjoy the night lights!
A great downtown pedestrian walk with multiple restaurants and a wide selection of shops. The avenue is closed to regular traffic and offers many sights.
Nice place to walk, dine and shop. Love the lights at night
The heart of downtown and a great place to stroll. Lots of great shops and restaurants.
Great place to be. Especially in the summer.
I enjoy going for walks here. Good vibe and great shops. It is a unique experience and good just to visit if you have never been. Check out the shops and try the local foods and restaurants in the area. Definitely a gem Calgary needs to be proud of and this is what makes Calgary the best place on earth to live. Thanks
(Translated) Very organized city (Original) Cidade muito organizada
Nice.
Love the area!!
(Translated) Super nice to walk there (Original) Super agréable d'y marcher
Must do a walk here.
Fun lots of cool expensive things
Probably the best place in the city to hang out. There are lots of places to eat (both restaurant and a few carts). Lots sitting, and many open patios. Plus the artwork and sculptures are pretty cool.
Very cool spot to go for a walk and some unique shops.
Lots of shops, eateries and historic buildings en route
Food music drinks. Excellent
Great in the summer time, food trucks and great restaurants.
Walking in there relaxes me
Shut Down due to COVID ????????????????????
The once lively street became quiet in a blink. Prayers to all in this situation we are facing. ????????
Loved the ice sculptures. There were lots of warming stations. Very busy when we were there. Would have liked to have seen more family activities. All in all a great event.
Always love wandering Stephen Ave in YYC!
I liked it! When I was here with my uncle it was a very hot day, but there was so much shade that we stayed cool! There were a lot of people using the walk but thankfully barely any hipsters! If you are in the area definitely check it out!
(Translated) A beautiful pedestrian and some shops, it is close to the shopping center (Original) Un beau piétonnier et quelques commerces, c'est à deux pas du centre commercial????
Great restaurants and outdoor atmosphere
One the best streets in Calgary !
It is amazing Sould visit it and walk
Such a cute area and wonderful place to chill. Love going with my sisters
Amazing avenue
8 ave in Calgary is a great place to walk around downtown. Flowers were blooming when we walked around here and ate at one of the restaurants. Drinks were a lot cheaper as well and it has really old buildings that are great to look at. Its nostalgic.
Lovely attraction
Runs from City Hall at 2nd Street skating rink to 3rd Street SW joining many bars and restaurants as well as the Telus Convention Center, Glenbow Museum, The Palace Theater which has music concerts in the evening mostly on the weekends and The Core Shopping Mall.
(Translated) Nice pedestrian street, with many shops and restaurants, very nice to walk through it quietly (Original) Bonita calle peatonal, con muchas tiendas restaurantes , muy bonita para pasear por ella tranquilamente
Love this place

Beautiful
Took the rickshaw out today was great.
Great area to spend an afternoon for shopping, food and drinks
Beautiful
Since the Calgary Police have had their mobile commande centre, located on the Avenue, I have noticed a marked difference. I feel alot safer and will be more inclined to bring my customers for a business lunch or dinner. Thank you Calgary. And thanks to our Calgary Police Force.
Great architectural feast in downtown Calgary, Alberta. Lots of high quality businesses on every street.
Super cool street with no car traffic. Stopped for a whole afternoon of happy hour fun.
Great public pedestrian walk with tons of bars, restaurants, and shopping complexes to enjoy in the heart of downtown Calgary!
Great place especially the summer, Cactus Club is located at a perfect location. You have Parkades everywhere and overall a great atmosphere. A couple years ago it wasn’t very pleasant however they are on the up n up! Maybe a bit more police presence later on in the evening but that’s about it
Great in the summer, lots of pubs to pop into and great patios. Obviously you pay for the ambiance.
Love the walk down this street. One can browse to your hearts content in some really quaint and novel shops. Lots of good food too at reasonable prices.
Not what I expected.
Downtown Calgary, good viewpoint for the Calgary tower, interact with fellow Calgarians and get inspired to be a big shot CEO
Sometimes quite packed, sometimes dirty, but so many great spots and moments to be had here
Great place to walk good patios and rest
(Translated) Calgary down town very beautiful to see, lively avenue, full of energy, restaurant business ... (Original) Calgary down town très beau à voir, avenue animé, plein d'énergie, commerce resto ...

Amazing avenue
Awesome place
Cool spot. Would have been better sans Covid.
(Translated) Nice, colorful, sure! (Original) Agradable, colorido, seguro!
Really enjoyed the walk and bars and shopping. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Shopping place, convinent location

It was a walk......
Lots of great shopping, restaurants and bars. As well you have Olympic plaza, and many other things to see.
Nice street, lots of restaurants, stores and during the day, it is a pedestrian-only street.
Boring.
A nice pedestrian street with a lot of interesting characters. It can get very busy during Stampede and during Canada Day. Lots of tourists taking photos and it's closed off to cars during the day. There are a variety of bars and restaurants on the avenue for all tastes and it is close to other downtown attractions. It's easy access from the train and definitely a place to wander if you're visiting Calgary.
Great spot to people watch, have a coffee, glass of wine, beer or a meal on a patio.
A Piece of History.
Nice walk in summer
Gotta love the city itself, Calgary has done nothing short of achieving beauty. Amazing!
It's a nice place to hang out and best part it's lively everything and so colorful
(Translated) An unmissable place to visit in Calgary Downtown! (Original) Un lugar infaltable de visitar en Calgary Downtown!
Love the walkway in downtown Calgary
It's just so beautiful all year round!!
A nice walk to see some statues & structures. Near to many places to shop, eat and visit.
It's awesome
Was a vibrant tourist area now a drug infested wasteland best avoided until city decides its time to clean up the area.
Beautiful walk
For a pedestrian oriented street it lacks connections to the local businesses. Walk past the convention centre, and it has a few doors to sit inside cafes. The old Scotia Place, the Core, and Bankers Hall all mainly require you to go inside to access stores.
Well, it's the most happening place of Calgary Downtown. You'll find the best places to eat, drink and shop.
Nice to walk down during the day but everything closes pretty early food wise, so dont go hungry.
A good variety of restaurants and bars clustered together and a lot of pedestrian traffic. There's a lot of exited energy in the air.
From California, was visiting friends in Calgary in summer. Had a day to myself so took the CTrain downtown. This pedestrian zone was one of my coolest Calgary discoveries. What a great idea in an urban center. Very impressive. First time I've personally seen something like this. Very progressive idea. It works too. Lots of shops and restaurants. I bought some items myself. Stuff wasn't overpriced. In fact, I really like my "Calgary" t-shirt with the cowboy hat design for only $9.44 out the door. An elevated walkway over the Walk connects the CORE shopping centre which is also fun to browse. All visitors need to check out the Stephen Avenue Walk. Easy CTrain access.
(Translated) Very good pedestrian avenue in the city center, there are excellent restaurants, ranging from McDonald's to luxury restaurants, including steakhouses. During special events (Stampede ...), there is a certain animation, so it is very interesting to stop by!
Beautiful place
Fun place to come to with friends
The atmosphere amazing down this strip!
Practically lived on Stephen Avenue this last 11 years while in this ongoing robbery of my life.
Beautiful place with unique atmosphere
It's the central walkway of calgary it's something visitors shouldn't miss
I just moved to Calgary. It was my first time there....loved, so beautiful..can't wait to go there in summer time !
Had to do some banking
Cool vibe, interesting place.
Was great
Great for walks, so many little shops and food to explore.
Lots of stores and options.
Loved the @glowyyc festival
An extremely atmospheric place, it's great that you can eat something warm. Lots of lights that give this place a feel

Looks cool
It's like NY but I'm Calgary. I loved it!
Making nice changes to downtown Calgary!
One of the top iconic places in downtown Calgary. Its especially lit during seasons and festivals!
I love Stephen Avenue. It's charming as hell
Great place to take a walk in summer
Great place to just wander on a nice day
To walk here is best in summer, beautiful streets and avoid midnight walk.
Love walking around Stephen ave. Especially in the summer!
Amazing historical downtown shopping district. Lots of preserved old Calgary building's which were built using sandstone during the rural fire crisis. Definitely a happining place both day and night.
A beautiful tourist attraction in the heart of city. My favorite ealrs restaurant was there for dinner. Hours can be spent here without getting bored even for a minute. Battery powered scooters add extra fun.
A Calgary staple! And a must see if you haven't been to Calgary before. Similar to 17th ave, this walk has all the awesome shops, bars, and restaurants. A bit higher end in most places than 17th but affordable options are abundant as well.
Good people watching most days, though always dead compared to other cities in Canada
Neat street to stroll through
Such a happening place with lot of options to chill out during night..
(Translated) Super cool walking in summer, and enjoy the Terraces (Original) Súper genial caminar en verano, y disfrutar de las Terrazas
Fun place to spend some time
A great stroll at lunchtime to check out the buskers and get reenergized by energy this place creates. Can be really crowded after noon, but dies down again as everyone heads back to work.
(Translated) Very beautiful avenue to take photos, many options to buy and eat (Original) Muy hermosa la avenida para tomar fotos, muchas opciones para comprar y comer
Such a lively place, even in the weekends
I'd give it a ten if there was more things to do, it gets boring very quickly, hopefully the Mayor's idea of relaxing the rules will attract more businesses down town.
(Translated) The old days ~ Nice to meet you! (Original) 그 옛날 그대로~ 반가웠음!
Great street to go for a walk in Summer. There's lots of places to go for a drink or eat some food. In Winter the street is lined with holiday lights.
Yum
(Translated) An amazing place in the mall in downtown Calgary. An environment with nature and green interiors where one can move to a green area in the middle of the cold winter. It is recommended to visit the entire property and its water sources.
Great. Have some lovely restaurants, shops, pubs and even a cool looking Theatre.
My favorite place to be
Safe on a Saturday afternoon. Parking cheap on weekends
So many homeless people begging for spare change and cigarettes....
A wonderful place to go for a walk to destress in the heart of the city. Plenty of restaurants and bars, as well add public art and shopping. Limited car access means there is lots pass space to roam for 5 blocks or more. Old architecture preserves the older feel of this promenade, and you sometimes feel you're wandering in a much older city than Calgary.
Festival 2020
A beautiful place for photography during the holidays and at night. Artistic sculptures can be seen along the avenue.
Need more little cute shops to visit
Lots of happy people
I love walking down Stephen Avenue and taking in the sights
(Translated) Enchanting (Original) Encantadora
Stephen avenue is a great place for an evening walk downtown. Plenty of nearby restaurant, snacks and drinks shop. The whole stress is closed off to cars so people can enjoy the long walks between buildings.
Great preservation of Calgary past. Bery nice pedestrian area with great shops, and restaurants.
Lots of shops and restaurants! And not to mention the core shopping centre
I like how theres drugs addicts all over the place
Always a nice walk! Store fronts and tons of restaurants to pick from
Nice place
Love it. Best place to visit in Calgary. Very vibrant district with all attractions and best of the restaurants nearby. You can connect with every corner of city through transit service with in few blocks from this place. Walkable from most of the hotels in downtown.
Lots of things to do
Great as usual, you ever enjoy the hospitality of the staff who serve you and the food is mouth watering!
Fun place!
Fun place, slot of outdoor seating.
Went for an ice cream cone at Micky micks and had a walk on Stephen Ave which was a great people watching experience. :)
Easy access to many locations!
Great
Night and Day, it has something to attract your eyes.
Stephen Avenue is now hosting Chinook blast the winter festival of art installation and lighting. It’s wonderful for a walk in the evening starting from 3rd street. You can even go out for a quick snack and drinks as it is lined with several wonderful pubs. I have personally tried out James Joyce, Social, local and Met which are all really good ones around here.
This walk has been a Staple of Downtown Calgary since I was a Child. So many hundreds of hours spent down here over the years. The ever changing array of stores and shops will keep you coming back again and again.
The busiest avenue in the city. Excellent shops, restaurants, architecture and it is 100% pedestrian.

Beautiful place to walk in
Okay
Calgary downtown is a beautiful venue for us, photographers, especially Stephen Avenue Walk. You can have street life, art and history in one frame. Here is a few samples from my ballerina shoot from 2020. Locations: Hudson's Bay, Teatro Restaurant and the mid part of Stephen Avenue.
This place and always awesome
(Translated) Very picturesque at this time of year (Original) Muy pintoresco en esta época del año
Great area of Calgary, especially thriving during the stampede!
Glow Fest interactive art along the Stephen Ave.
Nice Walk, so many to see

Nice walk, lots of bars
There's a lot of good stores on Stevens Ave
lots of shops and just great for a lesualy walk lots of people say hi
Very lively and up beat
It really depends on what you are looking for. It's a lovely downtown, but turns sketchy pretty quick. Expensive eateries on this strip
Interesting area of downtown Calgary to walk around and get a feel for the city. Restaurants and bars on a pedestrian friendly street free from traffic.
Great old school feel with a modern touch and lots of entertainment
Wow!! What a great place to walk thru, eat, have fun, party if you want, dance in the street, check out the Art sculptures and have a great time. This reminded me of Bourbon Street in New Orleans with a lot less drunk people. It was a great place in Calgary to explore.
Best street for restaurants and good Food.
This avenue is fantastic. In this avenue you can forget every bad thing in your life
Fun

Gorgeous street to walk through, with decorative buildings. The tree sculptures are also nice to look at!
The best thing you can do at anytime....!????
Good place for weekend bar hopping.
Alot nicer than Edmonton!
Great place to hangout!!
(Translated) No, I do not hate (Original) Non je ne déteste pas
Restraunt was awesome! Level on 8th.Fantastic food.Nice weather and great service, who can ask for more!
Beautiful street with many shops and restaurants to check out. No cars crossing except on the streets. It is amazing in the summer with lots of venders and music.
A great place to go in Calgary, especially during Stampede time. The spirit is high here.
This area us very lively and had many shops and restaurants. But there are a lot of homeless people in the area.
It's a nice walk way through there especially during Christmas
(Translated) Great place!! (Original) Gran lugar!!
I like atmosphere here.
Came for glow festival! Loved it!
A very nice part of Calgary, like a postcard!
Stephen ave is a great spot to roam in the summer months! Lots of shops the checkout and a variety of great restaurants to try. Only a block north of the calgary tower so there is some tourist attractions to take in as well. Best place to have a drink on a patio with a vibrant atmosphere. Typically a 25-40 year old corporate working crowd
History
A delight with history but the bums begging can drive you nuts.Don't pull out smokes. They'll swarm you.
Love to walk through this area , shopping. Dinning ,
Awesome place in a nice weather to walk around
Great alot of people for glow
Always fun to see what kind of shenanigans the kids are up to these days ;)
Great place to be!!... I want to go back
Vibrant area with a nice mix of old and new buildings and public art.
It's a great place to have a bite to eat
All sorts of restaurants, shops, speciality stores, multicultural as well.fun place to last time .eet people
Great place to walk around
I love this fancy street. Its a top notch environment.
Nice but to many loud crazy people
the Dj has a great playlist...i waited an hour to get a table but it was worth it...awesome place
Lackluster. Don't bother unless you're already nearby and looking for a place to get overpriced drinks. Watch out for drug addicts, they're in abundance here.
good place for walk after lunch or dinner
Unicorn pub best pub ever
Great during the summers when there are benefits and promotions going on.

Quite downtown as of late. Given the times we are in that's more than understandable
Nice walk!
I really like coming here during the winter months. It is a great place to get a coffee or food and walk around. You get a good feeling of summer and they really do a good job making the gardens beautiful.
Well organized event Glow Winter Festival
Lots to see going down this street. Places to eat, shop, and just hang out. Theres some questionable sections with various characters. Good thing the police have presence there 24 hrs a day. Depending on the year, there's different things happening and various patios to sit on and people watch. If you're looking for the police, just go to the McDonalds and you'll see why they're set up there. Can get windy as the buildings around it funnel gusts down this walk.
