I took my class for a program in December and it was amazing and definitely worth it! We did the clay owls project. The students got a tour of the museum, a nature walk, a sketchbook plush a drawing lesson, and an art project. The views are stunning and the program and instructors are great! I would recommend teachers do their programs with their classes.

Unique, spectacular, breathtaking! The Leighton is truly an original; a fantastic spot for an afternoon drive and NOT just in the Autumn. A great location for wonderful hostess gifts, one-of-kind greeting cards plus reasonably priced art of all kinds!! Take comfy shoes too and reconnect with nature as you head out on a wee hike. You'll be welcomed like family! Don't miss a visit to the LAC in all seasons.

Oh THAT Leighton.... Nice small museum, typically 2 exhibits there. The art gift shop is nice to look through. If nothing else, go there for the house and the view of the mountains. Anywhere else in the world, a place like this would serve refreshments, coffee, tea and we would have stayed another hour to watch the thunder storm rolling in.

What a wonderful surprise to find this place at the end of the road. They feature gorgeous original artwork, well worth investing in. The young lady at the shop was really friendly and helpful, especially when it came to accessibility for wheelchair-bound individuals. The whole place impressed me as unpretentious.

This is such a homey and historic spot. The Christmas Sale was great. The art and homemade items were produced by talented artisans. Plentiful stock. Well organised and friendly volunteers.

We went to the Leighton Art Centre for a grade one class field trip. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. During the day we were able to tour the museum, go on a short nature walk and do an art activity (drew a sketch of a tree and then created our own wire tree sculpture. It was a great day that was well aligned with the grade one curriculum on understanding and creating 3-D shapes.

My kids had an awesome week during their summer camp. They played and learned different art techniques and everyday were excited what they did and made. The museum and the art shop are a hidden gem. The outdoors are inspirational, you can spend the day just enjoying the view!

Great views of the Continental Divide and a nice country drive. Food service is limited, single food truck and an ice cream vendor. Lot's of original art, most is unframed and overpriced. Gift shop is okay from what I could see, it was packed so I didn't go through it. I would recommend the Leighton Art Centre for the drive and views.

Used to go here for camp as a kid, seems a lot smaller now haha, but the staff are friendly, helpful, and good conversationalists when it comes to discussing the art and history of the museum. And ofc the art is very beautiful and interesting to look at!

Love this place, it is so peaceful just minutes. I am of course biased as I do have art there also. It provides an awesome venue for artist of all levels. The staff are so positive and friendly. The Christmas in the country sale right now is a great show and a great afternoon for the family.

Always a great destination for nature and art lovers. Get there early as you will want to spend hours. The Alberta foothills vistas are incredible. Admission is by donation of your choosing.

This place is great lots of good and unique art. Staff are nice and have great knowledge of Leighton history. I would give five star but there was no food available. (I was there on Canada that may be why there was no food because previous visitors said there was a food truck and ice cream available for purchase.) Thanks for a great Sunday. Will visit again for sure!

What a place! If art and beautiful nature appeal to you, this is a must to visit. Short drive south of Calgary and well worth the trip. Great gift shop, too!

Jim is a gracious host, armed with fantastic stories and fun facts that make marvelling at our heavenly canopy a much more enriching experience. Thank-you for a memorable time. Went with my work which is a program for adults with disabilities and the Leighton Art Centre was so accommodating! They put out ramps for clients in wheelchairs and made us feel so welcome!! The staff was amazing, Alison truly went above and beyond for our program and it was a great day for all!! Would highly recommend for schools or other programs to visit!
