As you can read, it reaches an opinions average is high, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the valuation is very reliable. If people have bothered to value when they are happy with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Local history museum.
No wait
To be honest very underwhelming. It seems like a great place for kids or if you want to watch the film's but I was kinda disappointing. Go see the museum of anthropology instead. I will say that the Maritime museum was really cool and it's just a 5min walk from MOV.
There should be a gift shop!
Had a great time, nice and quiet with pre booking
good for kids
It's small but tells a good story about changing Vancouver, but i wish they would also have more recent history as well.
(Translated) Surprising. (Original) Surpreendente.
Was really not expecting it to be as comprehensive or engaging as it was. Would definitely go again.
Interesting place to visit to learn about the history of the area. The exhibition is too much focused on blaming the Europeans for what they did to first nations though.
Not so interesting. Victoria museum is much nicer.
(Translated) It is very nice to go one afternoon for a walk (Original) Esta muy bonito para ir una tarde a caminar
Always wanted to go to the planetarium and I was thrilled to finally make it! Loved the show and enjoyed all the displays.
There are not a lot to see or to do. Ticket is relatively expensive.
You can enjoy and learn Vacouver city from the beginning to the present.
A small quirky place with a few rooms showing the history of the city through time. Some of the displays are good, but not enough details. Dont expect too much for the price. Not much people.
Not a bad place to kill and hour of your time if you have nothing else to do. You could go and definitely learn the history of Vancouver. Pretty much a tourist attraction.

Decent price for all the things you can learn. Great place for dates and families.
A really great snapshot of Vancouver; the neon lights exhibit was very cool
Although Vancouver is not a city with lots of story, I like that MOV presents the collections in an entertaining way.
Key to the city Medallion
Nice and friendly place to learn more about Vancouver
If you visit Vancouver, reserve a time for the museum. The Haida dedicated area is fascinating. And the visit is one of the best ways to understand the local/city history, it's spots and peculiar details. Don't miss it. But expect a lot of reading and observation. It's not a classical art museum.
Very nice museum, had to include it in my YouTube video. Really fun if you're with the family, once you're done go sit down in a bench near the water, that's what I call a good day. I love Canada, better than I expected.
Nice info
Nice museum, lots of history of the city and indigenous people, they also had some nice small art show too There is paid parking in front of the building, quite easy to use
Great exhibit on Neon lights
Cool place to visit as a kid and just as a great place as an adult
Nice local museum..not too small but worth the price. Overall is fun enough for family edutainment.
What a fun experience, we had a great time going through the Neon lights exhibit. An excellent date night, we also learned lots from the historic exhibits as well.
A great way to know the history of Vancouver
a long history of educating the people of the city and visitors also, not to big so nice getaway to see while here , and right by the water

I enjoyed the planetarium show. The history of Vancouver exhibit was fascinating.
One of the best places to read up on the history of Vancouver. It documents the early days of Vancouver and the trials and tribulations the city went through.
A very good place for family and kids. Lots of good exhibitions held there.
Good price and great feature exhibit “A seat at the table”. Learned a lot about the history of Canada and the racism many Chinese faced years ago. Also loved the neon signs exhibit part. Pay parking is available but is fairly expensive; it was over $8 for 2 hours. Will be back to check out the space centre for sure.
I have been several times now. Membership guarantees a discount in the gift shop!
I don't know how much it cost to visit the Museum of Vancouver because I did not pay. Anyway, I didn't lose my time because I saw interesting things and took some beautiful photos.
Not very interesting for tourists. Worth a visit if you are a local, but the MOV is definitely in need of a revamp, in my opinion.

Great place to learn about the history of Vancouver. The changing exhibits are usually pretty interesting too.
More than 1 museum in the same building!! Didn't expect the space museum to be here which has REAL moon rocks, an engine from the Saturn V (WOW) and space suits!!
Very educational, and eye opening.
One of the best museums in VANCOUVER! Such an educational experience! The 3 exhibitions were absolutely unforgettable! Felt very Covid safe and able to social distance. Don’t miss the March exhibition , “Chinese Immigration and BC” , “ Distant Decades of Vancouver in the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s” ( My son’s fave) and all the neon lights of old Vancouver ( my fave) . So worth seeing this one! ????????????❤️

nice!
Very interesting!
The section on the history of Vancouver is well presented. The first nations section is too, but the MoA has a much larger collection of artifacts.
Had fun. Definitely going back when it opens. Small but it has lots of exhibits.
isn't real
We really enjoyed the movie phantom of the universe but we're disappointed that all the other areas were closed on our arrival. We were not aware that we should make a different appointments based on the different tours and observatory hours. Next time we hope to enjoy all the services they offer.
No
Small but thoughtful on the objects presentation throughout the exhibition. We can quickly see though the life of Vancouver in just a walking distance….
People working there were very nice, but I found the exhibits to be extremely one sided and in some cases misinformed, I think it gives a very biased picture of Canada to someone who doesn’t know better or doesn’t live here
Love this place, and the various shows. One of Vancouver's hidden gems, hidden in plain sight. Don't miss it.
Loved it . They did a great job on designing the museum. I was feeling I am walking on the old Vancouver streets. I really enjoyed the time I was there.
It’s an okay place for some local Indigenous history. You can wander through the museum yourself or they have free tours that take you through the museum.
It's a nice museum, but not big enough.
Building is interesting from outside only. Cool exhibition
It was alright. Some interesting facts on the japanese-canadian exhibit though
Take advantage of cheap admission during Winter Wander. Great way to spend family weekend and learn about history of Vancouver!
I liked the temporarily exhibitions about peoples collections a lot. We used a coupon book 2 for 1 so it was not very expensive.
Such a beautiful and interesting museum, very charming staff and great exhibits that highlight the history of Vancouver specifically. Well worth a trip!
Nice
(Translated) I enjoyed it well. Vancouver Museum! (Original) 재밌게 잘 봤습니다. 밴쿠버 박물관!
Great place to visit if you love Vancouver. Not the biggest museum but lots of interesting items and stories about the city. Everything from native art to the "ugly" neon signs of the 50s and 60s.
Súper beautiful! Everyone should come once in their Vancouver experience time!
Coolll
This place was amazing especially in terms of scenery and architecture!
A good intro to the history of Vancouver.
Great museum for the price
Excellent museum about vancouver history well worth the entrance fee
This place is a lot of fun. There is a lot to look at. The price is pretty fair. The staff are friendly.
Pretty neat place
I think maybe it's been 25 years since I've been here. I wouldn't have guessed I'd actually enjoy it as much as I do. Fave parts were the collectibles display (star wars figures ftw) and neon. Although the history through the decades was cool because it felt like I was in Bioshock
It's a great museum only you need more time.
A lot of interesting stuff to see. Reasonable price. Place looks good. Great place to visit.
Not the largest of most flashy museum ever, but a fun stop for a few hours. Last time I went, it was really quiet, but also a bit too close to closing time - we could have used 2.5-3 hours. Great immersive exhibits for the history of Vancouver, set up as 'rooms' or dioramas going by decade. Fun stations for kids (or those of us who can't resist dress-up) that let you interact with objects from different eras. There's some effort given to addressing the different cultural backgrounds and identities of Vancouverites through the years, as well as attention paid to the roles of women throughout the different times. Also a mid-sized natural history area with wildlife (taxidermy) and information about nature past and present in and around the Vancouver area that was both disturbing and hopeful. Again, not the flashiest or largest museum (probably a third of the size of the one in Victoria), but a fun way to spend a few hours, informative and enjoyable. The nearby Maritime museum is another fun attraction.
Covid Organized, you need to buy tickets and reserve a time online first, to avoid getting crowded. Cool stuff inside, fair ticket price.
Can't wait to come back

Weekend
It showcases the évolution of Vancouver as a city. Truly enticing to learn of its rich history!
Didn’t find much excitement. It is something to do if you have some extra time to kill.
We attended a wedding here and thought the venue ideal. While we were waiting we got to browse an exhibit--excellent! The grounds are lovely and you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer location in the city. I'd come back just to walk the grounds and enjoy a picnic on a nice day.
Very interesting to learn about the city Vancouver and its history. Exhibition is quite big so you need more than 2 hrs and in case you’re with your children probably more. Unfortunately less place to take a sit in between and there was no cafe inside, but inly vending machine. Coin locker takes 25 cents coin only.
✨????✨
Educational con experience with activities for kids and adults.

Amazing space shows. Knowledgeable presenters and easy to understand!
The "Seat at the Table" exhibit was so beautifully put together, and the other areas of the museum were equally strong. I wish I had stayed longer, but was confined to the school trip's timeline. Will definitely be going back!
Not very big but very informative, I suggest doing the tour about the native exhibit they have now. Plus some interesting neon exhibit as well as life in Vancouver in previous year. As you can see it was a cold snowy day so a good way to pass the time.
Nice informative

Stopped by here a couple times and the exhibits are alright, but not much changes over the years so it gets old pretty quick. Also the power was out a couple of the times I tried to go so it ended up being even more of a waste of time. In my opinion: For a first time adventure, it can be pretty cool... but not for anyone that’s been there before.
Great to visit at least once! If your looking for something to do with the family this is a winner. It has interactive set pieces and lots of important history on display. Had an awesome time and will be going again. Make sure to check out the neon section when you visit.
It's ok

Amazing day at the Museum of Vancouver. They had great info pods. Their current exhibition The Seat at the Table was very informative. Like to visit again.
Enjoyed the exhibits here.

A place just telling some stories about Vancouver.
love it
Nice museum with several exhibits. A good way to spend a rainy morning
This place gives a history of Vancouver through the years with some really interesting displays. The working vinyl jukebox at the end was a plus.
Such a great place! I absolutely loved all the exhibits but my favorite was the Haida Now. I am so glad the Haida People shared so much of their culture and knowledge of Haida Gwaii and all the artifacts. The kids loved it as well. It's a must see!
Very cool place to go hang out while it's raining or with the kids :) Interesting programs :)
Captures Vancouver's history and parts of life in the past. There is also a feature exhibit about the First Nations.
Hello guys, here are the history of this museum. April 17, 1894: A group of visionaries forms the Art, Historical and Scientific Association. November 1, 1894: The Governor-General officially opens the exhibition of pictures and curios on the upper floor of Alderman Dunn's building on Granville Street. A banner invites visitors to view "Paintings and Curios". The first recorded item contributed to the museum is a stuffed trumpeter swan. Donations to the museum are cosmopolitan and eclectic. 1903: Sara McLagan becomes Associations’ first female president. On August 26 of that year, the Association agrees to hand over its collection to the City of Vancouver. 1905: The City Museum and its collection move in to the Carnegie Library at Main and Hastings provided to the city by American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. That year more than ten-thousand people sign the City Museum’s guest register. 1913 - 1958 image-asset.jpeg 1913: Pauline Johnson bequeathed her performance costume. 1914-1918: Despite the Great War, Canadian citizens continue to donate their treasures to the Vancouver Museum. Soon the City Museum is crammed from floor to ceiling. 1922: Dr. George Kidd donates the remains of a mummified child from a tomb in Luxor, Egypt to the museum. 1939–1945: Attendance at the Museum soars to new heights as Vancouver bustles with military people and workers in the war industries. As a wartime precaution, the most valuable of the Museum’s treasures are removed to an underground vault for safekeeping. 1958: The year raises fresh hopes for a new museum and library. The library relocates to a new complex at Robson and Burrard while the City Museum alone occupies all three floors of the Carnegie Building. 1967-1999 1967: The City announces that Vancouver will build a new museum as part of Canada's Centennial celebrations. 1968: The City Museum moves into its current landmark building on the south shore of False Creek (now known as Vanier Park) and becomes the Centennial Museum. Designed by the well-known architect Gerald Hamilton, the building is planned to house only the museum. A generous gift by the late H.R. MacMillan allows the architect to incorporate a planetarium into the design. The distinctive dome atop the Museum, similar in shape to that of a woven basket hat made by Northwest Coast First Nations peoples, becomes one of the best-known landmarks on the city skyline. 1981: The Centennial Museum is re-named the Vancouver Museum. Permanent displays, exhibitions and educational programs are produced about the natural, cultural and human history of the Vancouver region. The new federal Canadian Cultural Property Act makes it possible to obtain rare and important treasures to add to the Museum's growing collection. 1992: The Museum hires its first university trained conservator to protect and preserve the City's collection. 1999: The Museum’s neon collection is showcased in a landmark exhibit that spurs public interest in preserving and extending Vancouver’s neon heritage. 2002: A new wing, inspired by Joyce Walley and her work as an education volunteer and trustee of the Museum, is constructed connecting to the north side of the building. The Local History Lab and the Archaeology Education Centre make it possible to expand the Museum's school programs. 2002-2006: New interpretive exhibits about Vancouver from the 1900s to the 1970s are produced in consultation with community groups and individuals. 2008: The Museum announces the results of a major visioning project. The Museum will focus on the City of Vancouver, both as a physical reality and as an idea, using cross-disciplinary approaches and engaging the community in dialogue about contemporary issues. 2009: To reflect the new vision, the Museum changes its name to Museum of Vancouver. The MOV is launched with the opening of the exhibition, Velo-City: Vancouver and the Bicycle Revolution. 2010: The Museum of Vancouver wins the Canadian Museums Association (CMA) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Management for the Museum's Re-Envisioning. Thank YOu
It's worth a visit for both citizens and tourists. It's not a world class museum, but it's much bigger than I expected. It's cozy, compact and flows nicely from gallery to gallery. Permanent halls feature life in Vancouver through the years. The neon section from 70's is cool. The feature exhibition spotlighted collections of toys, fake eyes, corsets, seeds and other weird items, very cool to see! Another one was for neon signs called "ugly Vancouver". Interesting to learn that citizens wanted all those signs gone and thought they made the city look like a circus. And now whatever is left of them in the city, has become historic and cool to look at!
Architecturally, this place is awesome. Both the exhibits and the building feature a lot of vintage / retro flare. The men’s washroom hasn’t been updated since the 1980’s.. and I LOVE IT. Feels like I’m stepping back in time. ** ~> My only feedback would is (1). to add to the Neon / retro exhibit .. the entire space feels a little sparse & (2). affordable parking. The price will deter me from visiting or recommending it to a friend.
Super awesome and entertaining musem! It's absoulty beautiful and I highly recommend if you are in the area
Good place to visit to met the history about the Vancouver city. The museum it's a little bit small compared with the price of the entrance. If you are a student, you might give a discount.

Amazing place!!! Fully recomended
Current exhibits on Chinese immigration in the 20th century, Vancouver's history with neon lights and art and artifacts from the local First Nations were all well outfitted and engaging. There's limited free parking in the surrounded neighbourhoods, but plenty of paid parking out front. Unfortunately it seems like the space wing is closed, possibly due to covid, though there appeared to be social distancing markers on the ground, behind the locked glass doors.
Good
Bloedel is seated at the top of Queen Elizabeth park. From in front of the conservatory, you have a gorgeous view of Vancouver and Richmond with huge mountains in the distance. I recommend at LEAST two loops. If you're lucky, you may see one of the staff getting the birds or tidying and adjusting the food and water trays. When this happens, the birds nearby light up! My wife and I were entranced by washing the Starling diving in on and attacking every bird that came great it's food area for a good 10 minutes. Absolutely beautiful. A fantastic way to add steps to your day. I would definitely return when we're in town next.
I love it. I found q lots of interesting things here. It just cost me $10????

Very nice architecture and design, appreciated the authenticity and small cultural references in each section. The contents of the museum was interesting and fun to explore. Would like more varied ways of displaying, too many words. Overall a good experience.
Get place to visit for one of thought rainy days
Great way to experience all Vancouver has to offer.
One must visit place in Vancouver
Visited this museum not very long ago. I really enjoyed the exhibit that spanned from the history of Chinese immigration, Indigenous groups in BC, early Vancouver days and to the 1950s. It’s great to see a glimpse of all these. The tour has to be booked online and to visit the museum doesn’t cost as much at $10 for adults.
Really enjoyed my socially distanced visit with my partner. You have to book a time ahead on their site which was easy to do. We arrived around 11am and were there until about 1.45pm The reason we initially decided to visit was to see the Vancouver neon exhibit but ended up learning so much more about the local unceded territories and the history of Asian immigration and issues they've ran up against since the 1800's (Seat at the Table). Highly recommend it and for the price conscious tickets are currently only $10. Seniors and kids price is $5.
Cool museum with interesting exhibits that detail some important aspects of Vancouver's past and present. As a tourist, I was disappointed that there was no gift shop.
This is a waste of time and money. I wouldn’t really call this a museum, it’s more of an art gallery. Lots of displays don’t have any applicable information, so you don’t know what you’re looking at. Terribly bad layout, There is lots of wasted space, you have to bend down to see some displays but there is just not much to see.
Fun but a short experience
Good place to walk around if you have extra time.
A wonderful museum, lots of variety in displays, and very quiet atmosphere.
I liked the temporarily exhibitions about peoples collections a lot. We used a coupon book 2 for 1 so it was not very expensive.

Haida Now is the current exhibition at MOV. Highly recommended. "A world class collection of Haida art lives here in the Museum of Vancouver. Yet what makes Haida now shine is the mighty community of Haida living in this region and on Haida Gwaii who have been willing to share their profound appreciation for their material culture with all of us.."
Very cool exhibit when I was there
Can't believe it's taken me so long to visit here - I visited on my birthday during the June heatwave. The museum has air con but the best part about it is the aboriginal / first nations bit of the exhibition. I wished it focused more on this as it was entirely interesting and educating. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the Chinese Community in Vancouver and the discrimination they faced. I was not aware of this before having moved to Vancouver from the UK but believe every Vancouver resident should be educated on this stuff! =] I knocked off a star because the rest of the museum was general stuff I have seen in other exhibits, photos after Vancouver was colonised, demonstrations of old machines / material items people owned / attire people wore. Interesting but less so than learning about aboriginal peoples and the sustainability and living with nature bits.
(Translated) Absolutely recommended, it is a small museum but you learn a lot from the history of the city (Original) Absolutamente recomendado, es un museo pequeño pero aprendes mucho de la historia de la ciudad

Great history of how Vancouver became the beautiful, busy city it is today
Thoughtful and well executed exhibits all about Vancouver and its surrounding areas. A bit difficult to get to by transit, but worth it!
The MOV is absolutely astonishing as it shows the history of Vancouver!
I am so bummed that we didn't allow ourselves enough time to fully experience the museum before we had to head out of town. One could easily spend 6 hours here! The neon sign exhibit was just about the neatest thing ever. The historical exhibits on each of the decades were above and beyond. We spent several hours here and barely scratched the surface.
Air con was WAY TOO cold, felt like 15 degrees inside. Exhibition was great though the layout of the Vancouver history rooms was very confusing.
(Translated) Worth knowing! (Original) Vale a pena conhecer!
Interesting exhibits about Vancouver's past and current issues.
Nice place to spend time (for max 2h). Almost all the presented stuff are belong/related to BC and not really old. Thicket price is little bit high for what you see comparing to other museums, still worth to see.
Recently visited this museum and loved the experience! For an affordable $10/person, we easily spent 2 hours wandering through 3 exhibitions. My favourite was the history of Vancouver exhibit.
The museum is based in an attractive building south of downtown in Vanier Park. It's easily reached by the No.2 bus from downtown. There isn't much to say about the planetarium housed within the building. The truly useful section is the one that tells the story of the European settlers destroying the native communities and the harsh mistreatment of the natives. Some of the restrictions placed upon them continued all the way up to the late 1990s. If you join the ½ hour guided tour, you will quickly comprehend the unmitigated greed that wrought havoc on the incumbent communities. Eventually, you will see the belated weak attempts being made to right some of the wrongs. But one can also see that full restitution will not happen. And, it's this kind of injustice that will fester for decades and lead to violence at some point in the future.

You can find different parts in the Museum. First you can learn about the first Nations, after that you can walk through different rooms while you advance in history until you reach the present day. You have a restaurant inside (closed recaude of the pandemic). In some parts you can interact with the exhibited machines.
Some of the exhibits were kind of... uhh... interesting (cheap?) It seems like a very underfunded museum, but I love that they are trying to retain some of the local heritage. The aboriginal history part of the museum was fascinating. The natural history area needs a bit of work. Kind of disjointed, and felt like I was in a warehouse full of dead animals.
love this
I took my kids here and we had so much fun. Free entrance for 5 and under.
Great displays on Vancouver and the history of the lower mainland.
Excellent place to view. Lots to see. Right next to the space center and the Canada theater. If your visiting Vancouver head on over to this location. Learn about the history of Vancouver and it's residents, check out the exhibits and enjoy the museum. Then check out the H.R McMillan space center right beside it.check out the museum website for special events. For instance, the last Thursday Evening of every month, admission is by donation. ( After 5pm)
Stunning exhibits on Haida culture and the neon signs of Vancouver, plus a walk-through gallery on the history of the city which I found very immersive and fascinating.
Thank you Museum of Vancouver, I feel I’ve topped up my knowledge on the city and through the ages! Certainly enjoyed the 1950’s - 1960’s exhibition!
Very good place to go and understand our history. Very informative.
Well done displays! I found suggestions that it takes 30 minutes to 2 hours to go through this museum. Budget for 3 hours if you want to read about the displays.
Loved the history, not much has changed
great exhibitions
(Translated) It offers unusual exhibitions, large collection of objects. A place to distract yourself for a while, just a visit (Original) Ofrece exposiciones fuera de lo común, gran colección de objetos. Un lugar para distraer se un rato, basta con una visita
The exhibition's quality and topic would vary from time to time; check their websites for recent events.
Haida now is excellent!
Short but Sweet
A nice place to visit if you need to learn the history of Vancouver. Well maintained.
It shown history of Vancouver
Amazing.
(Translated) Interactive museum! Very father the tour (Original) Museo interactivo! Muy padre el recorrido
Awesome Vancouver museum demonstrating Chinese heritage history and aboriginal history. Must check out during this Pandemic. Be prepared to spend 2 hours here. Also, the 3D Chinese restaurant experience is exceptional as well.
(Translated) The location of the museum is not very practical for those going by bus. It has several exhibitions and is updated frequently. The adult ticket ranges around 20 dollars. (Original) A localização do museu não é muito pratica para quem vai de ônibus. Tem diversas exposições e são atualizadas com frequência. O ingresso adulto varia em torno de 20 dólares.
Not much to see kind of boring and over priced
This Museum is Awesome!!!! I walk by this place almost every single day, when I'm in Vancouver, which is almost never, and I can't tell you enough that I should've brought all of my friends and family and their kids and families here sooner!
There is so much to explore. You could easily spend 5 hours here just going around exploring and reading. It really feels like you are going back in time decades even centuries with all the amazing artifacts and displays. Each area makes you feel like you are actually in that time era. Really amazing feeling. Definitely a place worth exploring. Don't know how busy it gets during week days and Saturday but i went there on Sunday and there was not much people which gives more room and freedom for yourself. The people in front desk are very friendly and nice.
The MOV is absolutely astonishing as it shows the history of Vancouver!
A bit pricey for what’s available here, but I still greatly learned learning about Vancouver and its history. I enjoyed the neon room and the animals.
The museum of Vancouver is a wealth of information of our cities history. They have a beautiful candid view of our past and do an amazing job displaying things in a fun and educational way. Staff were so nice and sanitization stations are all over the place. Not only that but they provide styluses of any interactive stations inside so its all hands off! Lots of space between us and other patrons and we were even lucky enough to enjoy a 30% off sale in the gift shop on our visit. Amazing location and a great resource for indigenous history and our cities history. Great for homeschooling parents looking for a safe space to learn!
Good spot for a cute date
I really enjoyed this museum and it had a lot more to look at than I was expecting. The walk through exhibits for the different decades of Vancouver's history were my person favourite, but they also have cool rotating exhibits as well so there's also always something new to see. I'll definitely be back
Not quite what I expected. A larger part or exhibit when I visited, was something like "Vancouver 2050", which envisions Vancouver some time in the future, but overall reminded me of an art gallery on a bad acid trip, with random words being sporatically announced in the background, and sometimes semi-complete displays. Another part or display in the museum at the time was a 1950s themed area. It was pretty interesting. Overall, this was quite unlike the handful of other museums I have been to.
Old style museum. Nothing to do with kids.
It’s a small museum but still informative, specially if you want to learn about Canadian navy. I wish the entrance was cheaper. Knowing that British National Museum is free, paying over $10 per adult was a bit high.
Museum of Vancouver tells the fascinating story of a diverse city that has changed a lot since it was incorporated one hundred thirty-three years ago. There are exhibits related to First Nations, European settlers and Asian immigrants in particular. Visiting the museum takes about one hour. You can purchase a ticket that enables you to also visit H. R. MacMillan Space Centre and Vancouver Maritime Museum.
Overpriced for the size and quality of exhibits.
A very humbling experience to be immerse in the history of Canada, and not all for the feel good history. I highly recommend everyone to partake.
The plays were very good in the summer. The view is spectacular. It can get pricey though.
Excellent museum with thoughtful exhibits about various aspects of Vancouver's history and present day. Great place to spend several hours on a rainy day.
The price is okay, but the exhibits suck right now. Not worth going if you want a true museum experience.
Lots to look at.
Excellent neon display with the history of signage in Vancouver. Some We both remember!
Cool little museum getting better and better exhibits.
Very interesting exhibitions about Haida Gwaii culture and history and the neon Vancouver signs. Loved the decades history exhibicion as well. A must while viaiting Vancouver. The crab sculpture/fountain alone worths the visit.
First time here. Good place to learn about the cultural diversity history (some good , some bad) about Vancouver.
One time visit would be great
(Translated) I have visited it without knowing what to expect. As of today, January 8, there is an exhibition on Chinese and Taiwanese culture with a specific focus on the racism they have suffered in their attempt to integrate into the Canadian community. Certainly a lot of important information to learn in this museum. In addition, in the last room you can find the neon sign exhibition about the way Vancouver looked decades ago.
Really boring
It depends on what they have going, but some exhibits are so different that they probably all won't be up your alley. But a nice place to walk around on a rainy day.
One of the best museums I've been too!! The attention to detail and committment to honest and integrity is awesome.
Great place to learn about this wonderful city
Miss this place, hope they can reopen soon.
Not the most interesting museum I've been to. The tickets are very overpriced compared to what you get out of the visit. It's really tiny, there aren't that many galleries and the ones that do exist aren't very interesting or informative. I don't recommend it.
Loved the neon exhibit!
Interesting history of the city and region. Nice facility.
I enjoyed it. I think more interactive exhibits would be good but maybe they normally have more going on when we are not in a pandemic. Good value for money if you want to learn about Vancouver and BC and a wonderful spot to go on a rainy day. Don't forget to head down to the waterfront and marina for some amazing views
Such a beautiful and interesting museum, very charming staff and great exhibits that highlight the history of Vancouver specifically. Well worth a trip!
It's very interesting and Funny
Overall, this place is a very interesting museum that explores Vancouver's cultural diversity, issues, and history. It flows very well from one exhibit to the next, and shed light on many aspects of the city from its First Nation heritage to the cultural influences as well. It's reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
Went to the H R MacMillan space centre. Well pitched for youngsters with interactive exhibits but a little underwhelming for adults and older teenagers. Still it is an entertaining afternoon if you are hiding from the Vancouver rain.

Great museum on the history of Vancouver
(Translated) Never been (Original) 没去过
A medium-sized museum; I was here for a couple hours and feel like that is enough time to see the museum. It is an interesting look at Vancouver and some of the major impacts that have shaped the city. It wasn't my favourite museum in Vancouver (I loved the Museum of Anthropology), but if you enjoy history and how a city is shaped, this is worth checking out. I definitely enjoyed the neon sign exhibit and learning about that aspect of Vancouver's past.
Decent amount of exhibitions. Educational information. Good experience. However, I thought the visit could be worth $10.
Loved it. Decided to do the local tourist thing. First time here,so much to see, parking is reasonable for Vancouver.
(Translated) Reopened today on June 11, 2020. Small but nice to see the history of Vancouver. (Original) 2020년 6월 11일 오늘 재 오픈해서 방문함. 작은 규모지만 밴쿠버의 역사를 볼수 있어 좋았음.
Great displays good job
Great exhibits on at the museum. Covid safe with stylus pens to use instead of touching. Throughly enjoyed each area.
The museum of Vancouver is so outstanding. I feel that there's a little of something for everyone. The Haida Now exhibit is done well, and curated by Haida curator Kwiaahwah Jones. I've seen that particular exhibit multiple times, and always find something new to discover. I feel that the museum is really good at incorporating the histories of many different people. I found their online booking easy, and they were all pleasant to deal with when we arrived. It was great that it's air conditioned for the heat wave as well. Their new exhibit "A seat at the table" was exceptionally well done as well. It was a really great look into the contributions that Chinese Canadians have made to Canadian culture and history. I'm also a big fan of the Neon exhibit! All in all, it's always a great experience and enjoyable place to be!
(Translated) Not very good to go with an infant. (Original) 유아랑 가기엔 별로입니다..6세 이하 무료이긴하지만..
The Museum of Vancouver brought me back in time. I grew up in Vancouver in the seventies and eighties and many of the displays and pieces reminded me of those times. The one that I enjoyed the most was the neon sign pavilion. I remember driving or walking by those signs as a boy. Many of those signs now either destroyed or sitting in a museum show how much Vancouver has changed. Many of the historical places and landmarks are now gone replaced with dense condo/apartment developments. This is not the city I knew and loved. I miss the old Vancouver.
Nice to go if you have spare time but not the greatest must see of Vancouver.
Yes it’s a small space, but it’s jam packed with information on how Vancouver came to be in a fun and organized way. Highly recommend to anyone visiting.
My family had a great time at the museum!
Nice little museum suitable to bring kids. Exhibits included wild life of Vancouver area, history of the city and Canada's work in the space industry
(Translated) I remember ignorance ~ (Original) 무지 게~~가 기억납니다ㅋㅋ
Wonderful museum. Best part is the variety of exhibits, ranging from indigenous history to 1960s Vancouver. Spent 3 hours there and only got through half the stuff. Definitely coming again one day to see the rest.

Very nice local museum. Provides a good look back as well as many exhibits which question where we are going. Usually very interactive and interesting. Priced at less then 15$ a visit makes it affordable fun.
Their permanent exhibitions are well-designed, and are very informative and entertaining at the same time. If you ever wondered about the riots in Vancouver, the history of the neon lights or wanted to know more about the first nation settlements that existed before Vancouver, this museum is the right place to get educated. The only obnoxious thing I experienced was a young student group about 20-25 people who were yelling at each other, played tag and were generally very loud. It would be great if they had been told before entering the museum to keep quiet.
So intresting museum
Love seeing the history of our amazing city. Check out the great photos in the 70s exhibit while it's still on.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! I learned a lot and liked the current exhibits. Great activity for a rainy day~
A place which show you that all you heard is true.
Beautiful, interesting, excellent.
Nice place to spend afternoon, very small tho, but very retro to get sense of 50 to 70’s vibe
Great experience

Great museum with a iron crab at the main door.
Informative
Quite small, but has nice live shows and of cause planetarium shows are amazing.
Fun thing to do to escape the rain! They don't do special discounts, but they've lowered the overall admission price during COVID. You can buy tickets ahead online, but we had no problem just getting entry at the door. They have some really interesting exhibitions and arrows to direct a COVID-conscious flow. There are also QR codes you can scan for some virtual information, and you can also do a scavenger hunt! This is a place for people of all ages and I think everyone can learn from a visit. My friend and I (mid 20s) spent more than 2 hours here. I particularly appreciated the visible efforts in reconciliation integrated into their exhibits related to First Nations. Also, as a fourth gen Chinese Canadian, I really enjoyed their section on Chinese Canadian history in Vancouver. There's also a very cute vintage Vancouver section with neon signs that is popular for pictures.
The Haida Now and Neon exhibits are amazing, the rest of the museum is starting to feel a bit dated.
Small for the ticket price - the whole place felt cheaply done - lacked a clear route through the exhibits - lots of sporadic information - with minimal artefacts - in need of a revamp - also very cold in the summer?? The city seems to have an interesting history which was not conveyed here
If you enjoy museums, I think you'll find something of interest here. The history side was informative about Vancouver and the exhibit side had an interesting set of collections. The big crab outside was kind of cool too.
Really awesome to look around! I love learning about the culture of Canada!

VANCOUVER'S STORY BEGINS HERE. We had such a great experience at The Museum of Vancouver (MOV). Great balance between regular and feature exhibits. From their website: ‘MOV connects Vancouverites to each other and connects the city to the world. An enthusiastic civic advocate, MOV is dedicated to encouraging a deeper understanding of Vancouver through stories, objects and shared experiences. MOV is an independent, non-profit organization that seeks partners to support the evolution of the Museum’s visitor experience. Our vision is to inspire a socially connected, civically engaged city.’ Would definitely recommend this to locals and tourists alike if you’re looking to learn more about Vancouver and its history!
Great rotating exhibits and the permanent galleries are great
It"s small museum but it's worth to visit
Fun place to spend a day inside. Also lovely place for an event with good staff and amazing views!
never beeeeeeeaaan here but it sounds good chicken tendys for clive cosgrove

Very awesome place, must check it out! They have many artifacts that are very interesting. The museum is not big, but big enough to learn and have a good time. In some parts of the museum they have comfortable chairs that once you sit a recording of some art or interviewed starts playing (depends on theme) I think it was great idea even when you seat learn something.
I was attending an evening photojournalism event, but I did have an opportunity to poke around the Seventies in Vancouver Exhibit briefly and found it absolutely delightful. This particular exhibition included a wonderful collection of pinball machines, early electronic arcade (predecessor to the video) games that dominate our family rooms today , a wide variety of board games and collectibles and a lovely neon sign display.
This place clearly hasn't been updated in decades but that kind of adds to the charm.
Brought our four year old here she loved it!
As a Kiwi it was really interesting to see the similarities and connections from west coast indigenous peoples in Canada, to the Polynesian people and Maori. It’s lead me to do more research at home. I thought it was a great way to go or Canada’s First Nations people
It's quite an educational museum and it's nicely decorated.
My mother and I enjoyed the Meseum very much. It is a great place to learn about the city and the people and cultures who have contributed to it.
Amazing experience! I loved the exhibits. It's so important that they represent the history of Vancouver, and they do just that. The exhibits presenting the Asian history was phenomenal. The indigenous exhibits are so informative and representative. (A bit more tsleil-watuth should be next?) I loved the neon section, it's really cool to see what Vancouver looked like back in the day.
Tp B
structures needs a bit refinement but its a good place to learn about the city
I spent 3 hours here and enjoyed every minute! Would definitely come back when there are different exhibits. There's a student discount!
field trip!
Change its name to museum of Taiwan or China, its good for them, but nothing much for a layman
Highly enjoyed this museum.
Ok collection (pretty small). Used to have school events here and that was fun.

Reasonably priced. Fun tour with the kids excellent part of the city!
Honestly it’s great bang for the buck. Worth a visit and it’s usually super fun.
It is wonderful and very informative. Highly recommend everyone to visit here.

My first time here and honestly so impressed! Wonder full experience! This museum explains the fantastic history of Vancouver. I highly recommend everyone visit at least once.

Worth the money
We had a lovely time here! Really interesting and informative exhibits. I learned a lot more about Vancouver’s history than I expected given that I’ve lived here my whole life. I’m particularly glad they had a really nice exhibit on the Musqueam people’s land and history in the area, and the effects of colonialism on that history. The ticket price was super reasonable as well. I would recommend to anyone!
Thank-you Museum of Vancouver for offering free admission on Family Day! I have always loved history and Vancouver history in particular and I always enjoy a trip to the museum. It would be a dream job to set up and maintain all of the exhibits. Excellent current exhibits on "The Wild Things" and the Haida people. I am glad we went and we look forward to our next Museum of Vancouver outing.
Lots of interactive items. Won't take more than 2hr. Paid an early visit to the museum and then ferried to Granville Market for some food.

$20 is too steep for what you get.
price could be better. american zoos much lower priced and sometimes free they make it up in donations and contributions and ad space. This place needs new age thinking and more interactive stuff. Will give it another chance under new management
Beautiful place!! It's perfect if you want practice the language

AWESOME
Very nice
Went here on a rainy day and it was so much fun! Great affordable indoor activity with lots of interesting and fun exhibits. I really enjoyed their current exhibit highlighting Chinese Canadian history. Will definitely be back!
Loved it! Highly reccomended.
Great history of Vancouver... the Neon exhibit is great, and the seasonal exhibits are very informative
Stunning sunset view
Vancouver visit Nov 2021
This a very interesting museum especially if you want to learn about candian and Vancouver history and the main exhibit at the time of right this review is all about the history of Vancouver which was brilliant. Very well worth a visit.
fun place to go
Fantastic and thought-provoking visit. We visited the Museum of Vancouver with our two young kids who loved the different pedagogical approaches used by the MoV. The first areas focusing on Indigenous history was tactfully and respectfully presented - our kids learned how important certain issues linked to indigenous history are. Would heartily recommend visiting.

Great place
Very interesting place to visit. Make sure you open the drawers under the displays to experience all the artefacts that they have there on display. Also, log onto one of the computers to see everything that is stored, but not currently on display, at the museum.
This immersive experience was excellent and I am excited to see new exibits.

Vancouver Museum, a must go place if you are visiting this beautiful city. Currently there are exhibitions about Canadian space history. If you want to have a deeper understanding about the history of Vancouver, you should definitely come and visit this very special museum.

Well worth the entry fee! Vancouver is so rich in history and the Museum of Vancouver does a fantastic job of presenting that history in an informative and interesting way.
worth a trip, you'll learn a lot about Vancouver

10/10. Please visit and book tickets to support a quality local establishment. Perfect for families, couples, even just individuals who want to spend their day learning about Vancouver or the space center. Please support this business
My favorite was the 70's exhibit. Well done Vancouver!
Don't waste your time and money. I saw the reviews and thought its history how bad can it be. Not worth 20 bucks Canadian. Stay away...
????
Fun park to watch the kite flyers. Lot of goose poop.
Very interesting and informative exhibits about the history of Vancouver.
Rather limited collections inside. A bit disappointed.
We spent 30 minutes max going through the exhibits and we like to read so slightly disappointed considering the price.
What a great place to spend a rainy afternoon. As a new resident of Vancouver it was really interesting to learn about the history of this beautiful city
beautiful museum with a lot of heritage from Vancouver. we were the only ones in there at the time so It was very engaging. sad we couldn't go into the space centre. but it was a nice experience
Very engagingly presented but a bit small and underwhelming for the CAD20.50 admission cost.

For Vancouver, this is a good museum
If you're looking for a great family activity, the Museum of Vancouver is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. There are always tons of new exhibitions on display so there's always something new to see. One exhibition explained the 20th century with pieces from different periods including items from the 50s, 60s, and 1980s. It was fascinating to see how these eras influenced fashion and designs in furniture, art, clothing - even cars! We loved seeing how things have changed over time and being able to imagine what life must have been like back then.
Great museum about Vancouver! I like the neon lights and the future Vancouver
I love the exhibits but I felt slighted by the staff. I am Indigenous, non-status, but still Indigenous and I asked about the discount because I’d heard there was one for Indigenous peoples. When I questioned about it I was asked if I had my status card, (which first of all is a problematic way of classifying Indigenous people’s) I said no, but explained where I was from and that my dad is a chief of a nearby nation. I was with my mom who’s father was status as well. The reason my mom doesn’t have her status is because her dad passed away without a will and a step sibling took all of his personal documents including his Indigenous identification card. She has been unable to apply despite trying. I don’t have my status because my great grandfather sold his family’s status during enfranchisement. He sold my grandmothers status illegally because she already lived away from home at the time. My grandmother is a residential school survivor. After the trauma she went through she did not want to fight to get her status back. It’s a very long and complicated history and I am as well as my siblings trying to get our status. The government does not make it easy. It is upsetting to be met with such doubt when explaining my lineage. For a museum with so much Indigenous presence you would think they would be more understanding to non status Indigenous individuals if they can claim where they are from. I understand there’s a concern people will try to take advantage of free admission, but there must be better systems in place to deal with these issues. I felt slighted and judged by the gaze of the person I was getting my ticket from. It doesn’t feel good especially because my family has had their fair share of trauma.
(Translated) It's cute and worth seeing, but it's expensive and not recommended (Original) 아기자기하고 볼만하긴한데가격도 비싸고 추천은 아닙니다
Nice little museum show-casing the history of Vancouver
No signs that you have to pay for parking!! Museum is good but parking is horrible, and very expensive!! Search for a nother parking opportunity close by, but not in front of the museum.
Expensive but provides you a distinct ambiance.
Boring and nothing much impressive with the price.
If you visit Vancouver you need to allocate time for the museum. Visiting is one of the best ways to understand the history of the city.
Reservation recommended
Perfect day out but don't expect to be here for more than a couple of hours
Great for Family outing.
Great museum.
The Museum had a ton of fun and educational exhibits. The entrance fee was reasonable. My friends and I spent a good couple of hours exploring all the exhibits in some of which, we had the ability to interact with items on display. The neon exhibit was beautiful. There was also a wall where you could write whatever you wanted, which my friends and I definitely did. It was a small but sweet feeling of being a part of the exhibit! Would definitely recommend!
(Translated) There are no highlights in the exhibits and the cost performance is too low. (Original) 展示物に目玉が無く、コストパフォーマンスが低すぎる。
Meh, it's OK but be honest, don't put this that high on your list. It has a bit too much of the currently overplayed how bad white people were, theme. The displays are fairly professionally done, but half the neon signs in the neon sign exhibit don't work, the space exhibit is... OK (the engine was cool), the animal part was a big hit. The 50's room was interesting, but for the most part - most of the area historical stuff just didn't really connect with any of us. There are better places to spend your time - you're on vacation, not here to get preached at from someone else's social justice priorities that you're paying to try and enjoy.
nice place to check out Vancouvers history.
The exhibits are very interesting
The exhibits are very interesting
Very interesting museum - good variety of exhibitions in a relatively small space. Great to see collaboration with the Haida too, so the history is as true as it can be. Visited in September 2018 and there were great temporary exhibitions too - one on wild animals in Vancouver (my favourite), one on Haida Gwaii, and one on old Vancouver neon signs. Highly recommended (plus the space centre is in the same building so you can do two in one!).
I enjoyed this museum very much! The displays are varied and well thought out. It was like 5 venues in one. Friendly staff and some interactive displays. The 19.00 entrance fee was worth it. Very interesting, my favorite part was the 50's theme. Although it is hard to choose! I liked the neon display a lot too. The City before the City was enlightening and upsetting. The plight of the Japanese Canadians who were displaced made me sad as well. I'm glad the museum is shining a light on our history!

The museum is small and not worth the $18 admission. There's not alot of good reads in the museum.
Very inexpensive to get in. It's quite interesting and informative, the old neon signs from Vancouvers glory days were very cool.
Don't be discouraged by the size of this museum because it more than makes up for that by providing a great narrative of the history and future of Vancouver. Enjoyed the exhibits on the local First Nations culture (c̓əsnaʔəm), told from the point of view of the locals, and not the occupying Europeans. Lots of insightful information as well about the persecution and discrimination faced by the Japanese and Chinese workers when Canada went to war. Finally, there's an exhibit on the future of Vancouver, where they invite people to contribute ideas about how to make the city greener, more sustainable, and more livable. Well curated and definitely worth a visit!
Innovative displays, huge amount of information for a relatively small museum, well worth the visit.
Quite a bit of variety here. Some Aboriginal history, Vancouver history, and animals.
Loved the scenery, got so engrossed that I lost track of time.
Took my daughter here (shes also Taiwanese), she didnt really care for chinese cuisine history and learning about dimsum. We were both fascinated by the 1950’s history- really awesome to see how things were like back then, my daughter loved it!

It's like a history book of Vancouver in MOV. From development of land, people, culture and economy, they are well presented.
Very interesting. Worth the time it takes to visit everything on display.
Briefly talk about the history of Vancouver on immigration and social changes over past 2 centuries. Very small museum, only take about an hour to finish.

A wonderful look at local history. It is well worth the time and money. It doesn't take long to get through the entire museum. I highly recommend a visit.
Great learning experience for children
Good way to spend a rainy couple of hours
I was expecting more from this museum, but it is okay. It shows a breve chronological history of Vancouver trough the years. Tells how Vancouver became the city it is now days. Is nothing big. Small halls, the interactive iPads aren’t really showing much information. It could be more interesting. And I would have given more space and attention to the aboriginals (natives) and their legacy, the increíble natural landscapes and resources from Vancouver and also add some more natural history. Jus my opinion. The ticket is cheap and if you take your time to really look at all the exhibitions it would take around 2 hours or less to complete.
I really love it ...
Great museum
It's ok, It gives you a very good idea of Vancouver but I was expecting more from Vancouver
Exceptional exhibits, a must visit for locals and visitors. Has a beautiful event space to rent for weddings, private or corporate events.
Saw a great display of BC aboriginal items complete with stories & explanations (Oct. 2018). Lots to see so you need several hours to get through this place.
