Tucked away in a corner of Clarkson Rd this is an easy spot to miss. A great place to go sit in the shade and read a book. Quiet, with plenty of places to sit in the sun or shade. And unlike many parks there are ACTUAL, COMFORTABLE places to sit. Great place to stop in while on a stroll.

Very well maintained historic house from 1836. Hats off to City of Mississauga team. Free this summer because of Canada's 150 Birthday. Must visit this place if you are around.

Great trip, back on time. Knowledgeable guide. Could have less trees on the front of actual house to be more visible from the road. A HIDDEN GEM in Mississauga! Worth visit.

The house is actually cool. Have to come back here when there aren't any events so I can a real guided tour. Everyone was really nice. Look for events here. And when youre in the house... Play the piano. Just do it. ????

You are given a detailed person tour of the house. Remember to set aside an hour as visitors are not allowed inside without a tour guide.

A must place to visit in mississauga. Never knew mississauga is rich with history until my sister took me here you will feel like you are in one of old hollywood movies. Its really gorgeous in fall to be around here and learnt interesting history about the family and house architecture.

Due to the rain and our late arrival at the museum, the steam punk event wasn't as awesome as we'd hoped, but another attendee whom we meet in the parking lot leaving raved about the music he'd heard, so mostly our fault for timing, I suspect. There were quite a few cool steam punkers (if that's a word), like the man on stilts and penny farthing biker. I will definitely try to make it back if they run this event next year; my four year old daughter didn't know what to think-which is exactly the perfect reaction to the event. The museum staff was amazing. Friendly and thoughtful, very welcoming and easy to talk to. The house has lots of interesting memorabilia and is quite accessible. It was clear that the museum is working hard to be relevant and I am going to check out their Facebook page for other events!

Beautiful grounds, and house. Haven't gone for the tour yet, but would really like to see inside. They offer afternoon tea and concerts as well. A great spot to just stroll around the vast grounds and go back in time.

Little local museum. The family was very well off and there are many pretty objects. The city does a nice job of seasonal events and in the summer free concerts. (you may wish to park at st. Bride's next door as the parking general runs out.) Also there is a pokemon gym and stop.

The Benares Historic House is beautiful. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. A group of us did the Escape Room on Saturday and we had an absolutely AWESOME time. Would recommend it to all Murdoch fans.

Wow one of the hidden treasure in Lorne park community, Mississauga they have every Friday live open house music concerts. Free. Donation at your will. Chill in this summer with wine glass every Friday at this place. Group has done great job in restoring historic house also lot of day activities for kids in summer. Camps are managed by city as one of the location in Mississauga. Must visit once.

Amazing place to visit and see some items from 18 century for a high class family were living in this house. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about all details in the house. They answered all of the questions that we asked with a very detailed answers. The place was so organized and clean, it looks that they are taking care of it. In this house four different generations they were grown for Harries family.

[just posted photos separately] I'd suggest all to book the tour, it's free (pls donate), and the lady was very good! We were only one family of 4, but she still did a nice tour and explain everything! Now, the important point, this house felt like mildly haunted. I didn't feel anything sold (like I did in the old house in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, which is a proven haunted house). However, several indications were there in this old house as well: a. The old lady portrait, her eyes were too vivid, it felt like she was watching, and she was not happy that someone disturbed the house b. The was given to Ontario to preserve as a museum, no one is living there for the last 50+ years c. Darkness under the house, you can see it, and you can feel it, there's something hiding there d. Basement, cold room, the floor is not finished, and if you look carefully, you will see some prints e. Player Piano, not sure if it plays itself at midnight, didn't stay that long to figure out Anyway, Halloween is here, good to go there and take a look, share if you can find more proofs. BTW, if you have weak heart, and too scared to watch scary movies, think twice before going there! :)

This is an amazing place to go and learn about the past and see how things were done and how our ancestors lived in the day. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. A great way to spend a few hours. Definitely recommend this as a stop on your calendar.
