You have the opinions of real people like you who bought the services of Wanuskewin (Museum) in the area close to Borden (Canada).
Nowadays the business has a score of 4.6 out of 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is virtually the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the rating is quite credible. If people have bothered to value when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Heritage museum.
Nice ppl
Enjoyed their wild rice burger and plant tour. Bit of money for only the two hours that I spent there including parking fee so likely better value if you plan on spending a good part of the day there.
Friendly helpful staff. Lots of history in area so would recommend going on a tour. Lots of different hiking paths with nice scenery.
Guides were very knowledgeable
Very nice, very informative information at all of thier displays. Friendly helpful staff.
Nice view, good place to go for vacation.
A beautiful place
Amazing beautiful place. I was here 4 years ago and enjoyed the hike and the peacefulness. This year there are so many beautiful renovations to the buildings and the addition of a Buffalo herd. A must see in my eyes
Very nice site, nice trails, quality exhibits (except the damaged bison).

Great food. Excellent Gift Shop. Helpful staff.
Beautiful place
Beautiful facility, great customer service, and excellent activities for the kids! Happy Aboriginal Day!
Beautiful grounds and always interesting art
Very nice place must see when visiting Saskatoon
I enjoyed the ethno-biology talk and walk with Sandra Walker. Very informative. We also enjoyed spotting the bison and the demonstration of fancy dance. We had the bison burger for lunch. Tasty in deed!
I loved it! We were with the bring the children home unity ride 2019
A genteel and serene place to open your eyes and mind to cultural understanding. To reflect. To enjoy. Thanks!
Improving slowly every time I go back.
Beautiful place
Hiking here, going on the tour, watching dances and listening to speakers is a very enlightening experience! Highly recommend Wanuskewin!
You must go to this place when your I Saskatoon. Just go.
Best place to be!
The reno is nice, but I wasn't there prior to it, so I don't know how much of a change was made. Chef Jenni has a real attitude and heir of superiority to her. The food is priced rather high for what meager portions you're getting. I do feel like all the space past the entrance way is bare and boring to look at. This place feels more like a place children go on field trips, not a place I'd willingly visit on my own. Had taken a trail tour and was talked at with an abundance information and not allowed to touch anything on the path. Didn't feel like I learned anything from it either, would have enjoyed just being able to walk on my own and explore. Instead of being forced to stand and wait for the guide to finish talking and lead us further down the path.
Good day for walking all the trails.
nice....also has good food
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon alone or with family - there are art exhibits, playgrounds, trails, history, & wildlife.
Really beautiful views and interesting sculptures outside. Gorgeous architecture as well.
Located just a few minutes north of Saskatoon is the perfect place to learn about the people who lived (and continue to live) in balance with what the land had to offer. Literally meaning "to be at peace with oneself", Wanuskewin is home to archeological discoveries from more than 6000 years ago. The museum is beautiful and very interactive. And if you're more of an outdoors individual, then you can go hiking around the valley and explore (with snow shoes for rent included with the admission price).
A great place to learn about the People that lived here before we settlers did. A great place to see beautiful aboriginal artwork, culture, food and people. Well worth the drive! It's a beautiful place all year round but especially in the autumn months. I always love returning to this place.
Beautiful
Was there today with my daughters school and was very disappointed. Was my first time there and wouldn't spend the $17 to go back. It is a beautiful place and the idea behind it is an amazing one but one that falls short. I don't know if their daily "teachings" are different than what the school gets but what we had today really wasn't very informative and I am not the only parent or teacher to feel that way. Maybe during the summer things are different but.....Very disappointed
This is one of my favorite places in the city. The restaurant is delicious, the gift shop has some lovely and unique items (I recommend the muskeg tea), the galleries have a great mix of art and artefacts, and the trails in the park are a crown jewel for Saskatoon. You can see herons, beavers, and soon bison. I hope you make time to visit.
Mu daughter loved the excavation sites. She was even trying to find things on the trails... kkkkk
Absolutely beautiful views and great information.
It's nice Ig
Lovely place to escape the city!
Beautiful welcoming the Bison home press conference. Wanuskewin was always a safe place for thousands of years. Great place to learn about Indigenous peoples history, culture, trade, & economics. A place of solitude, reflection, and peace. A must see when you visit Saskatoon.
Never fails to impress. This has been one of our favourite restaurants for many years!
Excellent visitor experience! They are covid conscious when entering, with masks, distancing and contact tracing. Once you get out on the trails, lots of space to walk alone. There are lots of snowshoes, free to borrow, for a fun adventure. But the trails are well packed and easy to walk in normal footwear. Even on a windy day, the lower trails in the valley are sheltered and pleasant, and the high lookouts provide gorgeous river views. Today even offered an eagle flying by, on January 2! And I haven't even begun to mention the rich First Nations history, culture, and archaeology of this place, or the amazing restaurant or gift shop.
Amazingly informative staff. Spending time listening and learning... if this is your jam, you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing play area :)
It was a wonderful mix of history, and culture. The location is amazing and the walking trails are beautiful, allowing one to enjoy nature's beauty while learning about 5000 years of local history. The Jingle dancer accompanied by a drummer and sings was the perfect end to our visit. Highly recommended.
The new renovations are fantastic! The indoor displays are quite impactful, the Restaurant is delicious as always and the trails were lovely. In terms of guided public programs they could be a bit more polished.
Excellent knowledgeable staff and personnel, learned alot on indigenous Prarie cultures and traditions. Great that they brought the Bison back to the plains and staff showed they really enjoy what they do and believe in the preservation of Wanuskewin
A must see First Nation"s interpretive centre in the heart of the prairies. Experience the way of life through the eyes of the Cree.
Absolutely fantastic experience. It was great to see the cultural history and nature being kept so well.
Wanuskewin has wonderful art exhibits, cultural information and performances, a great cafe (fry bread, bannock!) as well as archeological sites that are open for public viewing. I however like to go just to walk the trails and be outside there. It's truly magical.
Plentu to explore and cool paths to walk... even the occasional Deer!
Bannock and free coffee refills is good and the coffee is good too..
I didn't go to eat or shop. I went to learn about Aboriginal life. There aren't many displays inside. No real artifacts. The art display was weak. The jingle dancer was the best part of my visit. Interpretive trails are a lot of walking to see next to nothing. Based on what I had seen so far I didn't venture as far as the rubbing rock, but sis all the other trails. The site is beautiful, no wonder the aboriginals camped out in the area. The parts I found most interesting weren't on the map, or "interpreted." Maybe you really need a guided tour here, whenever they are offered? Sorry, but a similar story is told in a much better way at Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump.
It was under construction. However, the trails were great.
Beautiful location. Amazing history and archeology. And the food is unique and delicious. Don't miss the Bannock!
Beautiful place!
Kona Day, lots to do and see
It was such a memorial experience. I went yesterday as part of the USask Shad Valley program and I loved every moment with it. I wished that I could have had more time there and it's definitely something that I'm going to bring my parents and future family back to in the future. Thanks for having me over, and for the epic photo Lamar!
This land is magical, good medicine to connect to the land and the ancestors. So much history here.
A beautiful place yet unknown from most of the tourists. It has trailing within the nature, high land view, different cultural activities with art and fashion. Must recommend to go.
Nice place for relaxed scenic walks. Wonderful restaurant! Also, we've seen a very interesting Cree dance demo.
This heritage site is an under appreciated gem in Saskatoon. If you live in the city and haven't visited, you're missing out. The outdoor trails and interpretive signage help depict an image of what life was like for the first nations who live along the river. Make sure to check out their website and schedule of activities before visiting - they often have great creative hands on demonstrations and activities that are super fun to participate in.
Awesome restaurant.. oh..and the scenery is spectacular!
Nice place to visit with museum, trails and playground. Very beautiful in the fall.
So beautiful, lots to do and see. Kids loved the park and the big slide!
Nice place to go for a walk with family.
An excellent place to know the culture of the indigenous in Canada!!!
It's really amazing! The history associated with the place is extraordinary. They are making name on international level!!
Good to visit with family or friends. You can hike here and there.
It’s tricky to review this place. On some levels it’s 5 stars. On others, less so. As a place to wander in gentle prairie hikes it’s an oasis. Sitting a few meters from bison and watching them graze was a delightful experience. The art gallery though lacks enough information to appreciate the interesting art in display. Before visiting I hadn’t realized there was a performance, so I missed what looked like an interesting and informative presentation. Before going, I’d suggest to check the schedule and plan your trip accordingly. The gift shop in downtown Saskatoon was more complete than at this site, and a visit there should definitely be part of your experience of this venue.
Great place for kids.
So disappointed. Pseudo authentic museum which sells products made in China!!
The trails are beautiful, the staff is kind and helpful. We went for Heritage days and it was an amazing and fun experience! I Definitely recommend a visit here
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a pleasant visit and learned how to set up a tipi!
Over priced. building half finished no archaeology exhibits. Just an oversized art gallery. Archaeology is the reason Wanuskewin exists ! Head Smashed In is far far better.
Great experience making dresm-catchers with Randi. A lot of fun and educational too. Beef stew and bannock was delicious!
Friendly staff. Great museum restaurant (decoded means "pricey") with native-themed tasty foods, plentiful portions and attentive preparation. There is a major construction project going on here. In the meantime, exhibits and interpretive displays are underwhelming and provide little context to the main feature of this place. That is the outdoor trail system providing a look at former archaeological digs. The vision for this place is enormous in scope and I only wish I had plans to visit in a few years when the vision is realized.
Rear place for a wall and learning about the local history.
A powerful and touching experience
Hallowed grounds
Good place
Bike riding destination.
Really nice trails, good food in the restaurant. A bit pricey if they don't have any events going, but still a very good time.
(Translated) Wonderful, unique experience. Live with the natives Growing and amazing. (Original) Maravilhosa , esperiencia única. Conviver com os nativos Crescimento e surpreendente.
Great renos and worth a visit.
Great and extremely important initiative that falls short by telling very little, so sorry to say. The exhibition about history and artifacts was minimal, a few show cases. The film was even thinner and missed the opportunity to tell and show so much more substance, not merely the concept of holistic worldview of the First Nations. Please fill this amazing building with much more “body”.
Amazing
The kids loved the Park. Lots of amazing trails. Great tour guide (school field trip) the kids really enjoyed the Tipi and seeing how it was built. We were lucky and the Buffalo were close by for us to see
Wanuskewin is a great place to visit for young and old alike. All buildings and some trails are wheel chair accessible. The main facility includes learning facilities, a cafe, clean, accessible washrooms, performance areas and high quality displays. The gift shop is worth visiting. Outdoors, children will enjoy a well-outfitted playground and sometimes, the opportunity to see many bison at close distance (not guaranteed). A variety of informative tours are well worth taking and are at no additional charge to the modest entrance fee. Parking fees are reasonable.
This is a special place. You can go on your own self-guided hike on one of the trails but keep your eyes peeled for events. They host all sorts of activities and workshops that are worth taking in if you get a chance.
Great place
Beautiful place, beautiful culture
The hiking is one of the best in town ... if not the best!
Stopped in at Wanuskewin to grieve on the day Cowessess announced the 751 potential residential school children who died while attending the school near their reserve. There couldn't be a better place to grieve and to reflect on the sad relationship we've had with First Nations people - and to contemplate a better future together.
Informative.
The building and exhibits inside are quite special and do a fantastic job sharing indigenous history. The trails are a gentle hike through the valley with great lookouts. I'd go again!
Breath taking
Beautiful location for a gathering. Spacious banquet room. Food was excellent!
Very good and so enlightening.
Nice place to visit to learn about native culture or organize a bigger event.
Nice place to visit to learn about native culture or organize a bigger event.
Visited the museum and park back in September 2021. It's amazing the amount of effort and funding that's been given to keep this place up and running. There's so much more that needs to be done to preserve such a historic area but one needs to acknowledge what's already in place. Ask the ticket office about the yours and shows. You can of course walk on your own but being part of a your allows the people who are working there -researchers mainly- to share their own experience and insights of the place. I hope I can visit again someday and by then I hope I'll be able to learn more about the rich history that's been long hidden.
Could spend hours, even days here. Calm, relaxing. Displays are so meticulous and so well done. Can actually feel the Indigenous connection to this place. The food in the restaurant is very good....ok..amazing! Something for everyone and you cannot go away hungry.
Snowshoeing was amazing!
Excellent food and cultural learning experience
Great place to spend a day! Great park for the kids. Great trails and awesome staff. You need a credit card or change for parking!
Nice place
What a lovely place it is. The people there were nice and polite
Nice for a visit with family or friends.
Beautiful place.
Amazing place, the guides Katie and Gabriel were fantastic. They have lots of new exhibits with a good mix of youth and adult information (Dec 2020). Good restaurant too if you want to have a bite out there.
If you're looking for a great place to learn meet and reflect this is an ideal location. The meeting rooms are phenomenal and have great lighting and acoustics.
It was under construction but zim sure it will be even better when its finished...
Went for culture days and baked bannock over a fire and went for a wagon ride!
This place has great walking trails with information and site about indigenous people. There is paid parking and an area where you get a chance to see the bison grazing from afar. Great place to take the kids to learn about indigenous history. There is a small museum with paintings and artifacts and also a gift shop. Overall and excellent place to take walks with family.
Great walking trails
Amazing views and the museum has some cool exhibits and First Nations historical information. A must visit in Saskatoon.
Great place for a day trip! Wildlife, scenery, hikes and local food - easily can go through the day here without you noticing. Food around here is overpriced, so would suggest packing unless you have the money to afford and spare.
Used to come here on fold trips on elementary school. So many memories I cannot wait to come back!
Its aight
Great place for nature walk
Very peaceful and knowledgeable park. The trails are great to explore and full of Saskatoon berries! I found it to be a fantastic way to learn about the history of the native tribes and their ordeal through the years. Awesome experience and definitely worth staying for the dance performance!
So disappointed. Pseudo authentic museum which sells products made in China!!
Thousands of years of indigenous history. Great place to spend a day.
A good Traditional place to learn about First Nation Way of Life, scenic atmosphere, both inside & out, classroom learning experience, outside Trail, good exercise, spacious clean building, helpful staff, ample parking, gift shop supplies, dining area,
Enjoyed my visits years ago. Great history, trails for a memorable experience.
My son had a great summer camp here.
A taste of through indigenous history that will open your mind to the real indigenous people of the saskatchewan.
Thoroughly underwhelming visit. We’re travelling across Canada currently and stopped here given the good reviews of the park. It’s currently under heavy construction and there is very little on display and not at all worth the entry fee or drive here. I’m sure it would be a lot more impressive when the construction is finished, but not currently.
What a gift to have this place from which to learn about living into #RightRelations. It is also a thin please that reminds you we walk in the steps of those who have come before us. That reminder carries with it a sacred trust.
I enjoyed my trip to this heritage centre. It seemed a bit under construction when we visited. The building is quite beautiful. It was a good day :-)
They had some amazing art exhibits up and the food at the restaurant is great! The staff was kind and helpful and the view from the trails is fantastic!
Beautiful! Will definitely be going back in the summer.
Would have been better if there was no snow. Grounds to door was flooded with lots is snow.
It's an amazing treasure trove of Aboriginal history, language and culture! I highly recommend a visit!

Had a great visit, enjoyed to hoop dancing & the hiking trails are splendid????
History and beauty collide!
Beautiful scenery so close to the city
Amazing place! Great experience!
Beautiful area for a short hike and a really cool place to see some bison up close. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the interpretive centre is amazing. Highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you're a local Saskatchewanian - lots of history to be learned!
Perfect place to hike
Amazing sacred site that is open to the public and welcoming to all! Truly an experience you shouldn't miss!
Beautiful scenery a great trail and good food at the restaurant.
Best place in Saskatoon!
(Translated) Nature is everything (Original) La naturaleza es todo
Was a great tour and ended it by seeing the Buffalo but would have liked to attend a pow wow????
Charged full price for two rooms out of 10 being opened. Rip off at this point I would not do it again unless the whole museum is open
Lots of open space arround the park. You can purchase traditional merchandise here.
Wonderful
Lovely natural views around.
Daughter had her wedding ceremony here ...was perfect for 98 guests. View out the whole wall of windows was spectacular!
It's such a beautiful place enriched with indigenous history and culture.
Great Interpretive Centre. Awesome performances. Decent bison burger.
Beautiful scenery
Food wise, was expecting better to be honest. Cafeteria style food with plastic cups. Having said that, the Saskatoon berry vinaigrette on the salad was the star of the dish.
Excellent soup
Looking for a deep sense of peace, then visit this heritage park and enjoy the culture, a walk, and a lovely meal.
Great place for family daytrips
Fantastic museum with great exhibits and plenty of trails to explore. Stories and exhibits come to life with some great technology and sensors. The grounds are wonderful and there is a huge play structure outside for kids that's unlike any play structure I'd seen before.
Nice trails to walk. The valley is nearby Saskatchewan River. It is very unique in flat area of Saskatoon. Unfortunately, I didn't see the bison in my trip, so I don't rate the 5 star for this measum. You may update the reviews for this site.
beautiful place!
Awesome place. Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful.

I had so many questions! I was googling everything when we left! Will definitely be back to walk more of the grounds, such a wonderful feeling and honor to walk back in time!
Good place for summer
We just wanted to go for a walk, we paid $5.00 to park and they wanted $10.00 each for seniors to get in! Maybe on a nice summer day when we could spend a few hours there, but it was a cool fall day!!
(Translated) Just for good trails and learn a little. The exhibits could be much better. Restaurant that promised to have typical foods did not impress. The Wanuskewin store in downtown is much better and more complete. (Original) Apenas para boas trilhas e aprender um pouco. As exposições poderiam ser bem melhores. Restaurante que prometia ter comidas típicas não impressionou. A loja da Wanuskewin em downtown é bem melhor e mais completa.
Awesome experience
Great place for visit
Must visit place
Great place
Best place to hike and get away from the city . Very tranquil
Very interesting. They go throughout allot of trouble to make it interesting. Curio shop a little expensive but worth it.
Historical site of the Firstnations of Saskatchewan dating back 1,200 years. Beautiful views of the Prairie and South Saskatchewan River ????❤
Food was wonderful in restaurant but expensive
Unique area over looking the prairies and South Saskatchewan river.
It was absolutely beautiful trails. There was nothing to see inside which was disappointing so to pay $10 to walk on trails was kind of ridiculous...
Beautiful walking trails and great programming!
????????????
Good, upcoming location well managed by staff. Our guide did a fantastic job of explaining the history/background of the project and the plans to reintroduce the bison at the location. Good family outing place.
Beautiful place so quiet calm and serene. Greet for a hike!
Pretty interesting museum.
Really Awesome, educational and fun filled
I would have given it five out of five but the signage to get around the construction that's going on is rather lacking
Especially enjoyed the dancer of the day and the teepee raising and the storey that went with it.
Excellent interpreters for my adult English class. Always a treat to go there!
VERY Important historical cultural indigenous landmark and ongoing activities. Hope to connect more with the land and local indigenous. Help out even. Aho! All our relations. ????????️????????????????
It was a great experience.
We did an archaeology tour with Honey, her mom chose the name not me, it was fantastic! Tour was very informative and very interesting to learn how the digs and finds have affected even current policy making. The facility, grounds and tour exceeded expectations. Also the Pike Tacos we ate were by far best fish tacos i have ever eaten. We will be back in winter to hear the stories that could not be told that day.
I hadn't been for years, and it is still such a lovely place to visit in Saskatoon. We went out to go snowshoeing, they have snowshoe rentals included in admission during the winter. The trails were so pretty! They have updated their galleries recently and the restaurant was very cute, we got some bannock for take out to enjoy at home!
Beautiful spot. Great facilities and very informative.
Just a lot of information about plants.
Great hike, playground and food.
Delicious meal, incredibly beautiful walking paths, excellent hoop dancing demonstration.
Such awesome customer service. Pleasant staff and very gorgeous place to visit n grab a bite to eat.
Nice
Gorgeous location. Great educational site. The staff are awesome.
Quite interesting
Nice place to do a family day trip
Visiting from the States. Had a wonderful morning talking with staff.
Very beautiful place! The playground is great for kids to play on.
pretty light as to what they have inside there i was traveling with a retired couple one of which has limited mobility. she did not want to go outside so we stayed inside. not a lot in there.
So serene!!!!
We learned how to pitch a tipi.
Only had an hour to visit, but it was fantastic, I wish I had more time to hear and the history of this land.
A great place to visit to learn more about the first people if this land
Beautiful trails and building. Saw a great hoop dancing performance when we were there!
While you need good weather to thoroughly enjoy, we were able to take in a traditional dance demonstration, view some informative art displays, enjoy a walk on the trails, and play on one of the best playgrounds I've ever seen. We spent 5 hours there with a toddler.
Beautiful and majestic!
I spent a lovely afternoon walking the trail with my son. He bought me a bison burger which was delicious.
Not that good
Good area for birding.
Awesomely
Amazing site and tremendous history! Definitely one of the top tourist destinations in Saskatoon. The staff were very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Good example of what celebrating our history accurately can look like.
A wonderful place for reflection and understanding. Thank you
(Translated) A very nice place to walk and enjoy the history of Canada (Original) Un lugar muy bonito para caminar y disfrutar de la historia de Canada
Fantastic
Very interesting place. Has a great little restaurant as well.
A piece of history being told to others.
I had enjoyed the new exhibits, the trails and staff...I will go again ????
Nice experience
This is a must see. Spiritual as well as informative. If your planning on going plan for a full day lots to see and do. Restaurant on site good food. Gift shop on site. Bison ???? in field .
(Translated) Excellent place (Original) Excelente lugar
Must visit place
Wasn't a lot to do or see, went because it was culture week but there was renovations which may have meant less to see/do
Very helpful
I love this place. It's a great venue for conferences, or just to visit. It's family friendly and offers such great learning opportunities. The art gallery is excellent, as is their restaurant, which has a lot of Aboriginal-style foods. Muskeg tea is a must try!. The gift shop is lovely with a wide variety of items. Everything is affordable. It's so nice to find a place that doesn't gouge you. If you want to learn more about First Nations culture and history, this is the place to go.
Great place for snowshoeing. Beautiful scenery. Lots of open space, friendly staff. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Great place for snowshoeing. Beautiful scenery. Lots of open space, friendly staff. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Amazing prehistory, topography, and cultural richness
The new repository are amazing and wait til you see the new displays!!!
Really enjoyed our time there. Dancers were excellent. Peaceful place.
Great historical museum of indigenous artefacts and historical significance to the plains cree people of Treaty 6 with over 7 kilometers of trails
Beautiful.
So worth a visit. Beautifully done. Wonderful exhibits, outdoor trail, playground, gift shop and restaurant. Best bison burger I've ever had.
Absolutely beautiful experience!
It's a park that really wants to show you native heritage but comes up short in so many ways. Primarily by committing to indigenous presenters who do not know their own traditions and history. It ends up wanting to feel political rather than authentic. Very unfortunate. I really enjoyed the drummer/singer groups.
This was a nice experience. The daily programming (walks and dance) added to the experience. It was fairly small though. There is a very nice children’s park outside as well and plenty of trails when the weather is good.
Excellent in all aspects.
Amazing place with such deep history.
Really well presented, beautiful paths to stroll through. The Buffalo were cool to see.
(Translated) Very nice walk with panoramic views of the Saskatchewan River. But unfortunately no animation today. Friendly staff including a French speaking. (Original) Très belle balade avec des vue panoramique sur la rivière Saskatchewan. Mais hélas aucune animation aujourd'hui. Personnel accueillant dont une parlant Français.
Stunning. Inspiring. Educational. Thought provoking. Incredibly well done.
Nice place for a walk.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable
Very interesting and informative. Also good food in the restaurant. Nice place to go for a walk along the interpretive trails.
A very nice lodge with an interesting permanent exhibit with will probably take 30 to 60 minutes to read/look through. Also two art galleries with changing content. The day we went there was some tapestries with native and modern images. The second room had a long linen bolt of cloth with the report on reconciliation printed on it with some native imagery as back ground. Outside is 1/2 hr to 3 hours of trails. Nice walks with some placards. And there is a small bison herd. 25 animals I think. You can't get too close but you probably can see them clearly as they move around the property. I would not say this is a must see attraction, but a good way to spend an afternoon.
Such a fun place to go and learn history
Nice one day trip, but not much to do
Interesting history and displays. The cafe is also good. Nice place to go for a walk after looking at the displays
Very valuable visit. I attended the dance demonstration and archeological presentation. I learned a great deal from both activities. I also spent a few minutes visiting the gallery. The exhibit was so moving esp the tableau of the history class. I teared up a bit thinking of the ways we had erased First Nations history in favour of the settler narrative. We also had a lovely meal in the on site restaurant. The squash salad and fresh bannock was just delicious.
20 minutes North of Saskatoon. Pay for parking. Great place to visit and leave 4-5 hrs to see everything. Wear good walking shoes for the trails. Bring water and a hat.
We came knowing that there was some construction taking place, however we had no idea that the only thing to do was the trails. Not what we were expecting. However we did see a tipi raising and the lady who did that explained it really well, and she was super friendly ! The restaurant had been slammed and was out of everything except the soup by 2 pm. The cooks were rather rude when I asked if I could have a bison sausage. Stating they were out and were baking fresh bannock and would be awhile. I tried the daily soup, was hot but flavourless. The staff were also yelling at some kids who were at the pop fountain and filling water bottles with the pop, I’d be upset too, but the way the staff dealt with it was rather rude.
Terriffic.
Lots of history and hiking. Could use better signs between the trails and between the different outdoors areas to make it more public friendly. Beautiful views along the trails and a wealth of information in the main building.
An interesting place. The lady giving a talk on teepees had a very quiet voice. Shame there were no real bison to see!
Had a great time here, arrived with a group of 6 visiting from Ontario. Started off with 2pm dance, I've forgotten the dancers name but he was amazing and great with kids. The tour with Bailey was excellent, she's very knowledgeable and engaging, the museum is fascinating and beautiful inside. The restaurant at Wanuskewin was sooo goood, I ordered the Falafel burger with fries. Big portions and decently priced I'm already planning my next trip back.
Interesting First Nations History with very enthusiastic people looking to gain World Heritage status for the area. Would love to visit again in a few years when they will have brought back the buffalo herd.
Very interesting.Beautiful
Awesome views and the tour was interesting and educational.
A great experience!
Excellent experience
Awesome walking paths
Great place to learn about our history
So much there to educate you about the indeginous culture of not just saskatoon but saskatchewan .This is a sacred place with so much to learn and do. There is definitely a sense of reverence and respect for the past and future of the indigenous people of this province. From snow shoeing; traditional dance demonstrations, art galleries, and a museum. I thoroughly enjoyed the Visit!
We were recently visiting Saskatoon and decided on the Heritage Park as our outing for a Monday. We have been to many indigenous parks and museums in the USA so thought we would do something in regards to Canadian indigenous. This park was awesome - beautiful walks on a fall day, interesting stop points, cool gallery installation of a maze made of wood pieces, stunning buffalo displays. This is a slow time of year and the front receptionist gave us some quick info about the park that we appreciated. We never visited the restaurant but it was pretty too. Overall a lovely day with trails that made it easy to imagine life hundreds of years ago. My only issue was while visiting the gift store, some of the items that I was interested in that looked like they may have been made locally were made in India... so made me not trust other items. But that's a small point in an otherwise beautiful place.
The absolute best place to go for a walk in the Saskatoon area. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.
Beautiful scenery, fantastic building, super friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to going back again
Wonderful place to go and clear your mind! Learn about native culture and land. Buffalo are present. Although construction is in action don't hesitate to enjoy some food or beverage at the restaurant. They also have an amazing gift shop. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
(Translated) Above all do not make the detour to see nothing! In work a shame to charge a vacant lot! (Original) Surtout ne pas faire le détour pour ne rien voir ! En travaux une honte de faire payer un terrain vague!
Was a very cool tour. Live bison and just a beautiful walk. Good time of year to go. Cool kids playing apparatus. Have to pay to park though.
Cycled out there on the Trans Canada Trail/ The Great Trail from the University of Saskatchewan. Was a beautiful 1 hour long cycle. The park is beautiful and has some interesting sights. The rubbing stone was my favourite. Food was more expensive then I was expecting but was adequate for the price, location and ingredients.
Kids love the new park
Kids friendly interactive learning , very clean and covid safe????????
I love the trails it great to get outside and see wild life and so much more
Beautiful place to get married. Just take a nice walk through flatland nature.
It was a wonderful experience to learn about the cultural heritage of the Saskatchewan at this museum. Well maintained.
Was impressed with the facility and the trails. Went with a school group and the guide was super. Lots of knowledge and great interactions with the kids. Would highly recommend a visit.
Very interesting tour. We had a personal tour with Bailey very informative. Will visit again when we have more time. Gift shop need more hand made local items not made in .....A live dig like head smash in would be so cool, so many people there were very interested in the dig and the process. A must see if you are in Saskatoon.
Employees Great / Dancer failed to show / First two galleries disappointing / Miss the days of the in-building U of S archeological lab / Not sure which way this is going - verdict yet out / Beavers busy!
Very informative, loved it
Beautiful day to honor National Truth and Reconciliation Day by walking the trails at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Thank you.
We just stopped in for a picnic. Didn't go into the visitor center. Really nice though. Definitely going back to take a tour of the place.
When we lived in Saskatoon we went to Wanuskewin multiple times, such a wonderful learning environment!
Hadn't been in a few years. Was quite the improvement! The new archeological hike was very informative and worth the trip out!
Nice!
A very informative afternoon, the staff shared their traditions beautifully. That combined With an amazing hike on the trails made for a great day!
Great!
Not very friendly staff and almost nothing to see. This place could be filled with so much more.
Peaceful
Lovely area! We saw some breathtaking views on the hiking trail... my group came around opening time when the sun had just come up. There were dozens of mule deer, beautiful hoarfrost on all the trees and bush, and fog all along the river. We spent most time outdoors but the museum part is well done and neat to explore as well.
Great historic site with great hiking trails. The center is not very informative or exciting
The reception attendants were not very attentive but the place looks great. Wish they did not close so early.

Nature and education and place and community
Nice place
Was interesting
One of my favorite places to explore in Saskatoon ????
Wonderful place to learn about the first peoples of the area and to connect with our roots as a Saskatchewan population. There are always activities in the day, and thwir4 staff are extremely knowledgable and friendly. Katie, the archwological interpreter went above and beyond to educate us and make our trip outstanding.
Kona the winter festival was fantastic! We enjoyed fiddling, jigging, hand drumming, and round dance. We missed the dog sledding, (and other outside activities) but the kids still enjoyed playing in the snow and on the bison statues and there were a few warming fires along the trails between activities. We finished the night with bison burgers on bannock at the restaurant. (Which were fabulous!) Be sure to check it out next year. It's sure to be even bigger and better.
The greatest historical place where the people and the land is connected. Excellent people and made many memories.I will be visiting a lot. Thanks
a good place to get back to nature and escape reality
Wonderful park. Great historical interest. See the raising of a tipi and be involved in song, dance and traditions of the Cree nation. Absolutely great Bison burgers.
The main exhibit is currently closed. Probably not worth the trip until they open it back up unless you're a local. Restaurant was a bit expensive though the food was good quality and portions were adequate.
