A place to pass some time while on campus at McGill to warm up in the winter mths and learn a little history on years past
(Translated) A magnificent museum of natural history. Just enough wood and dust to be authentic. (Original) Un magnifique musée d'histoire naturelle.
Great exhibits! Just lacking ventilation.
The Redpath is one of the oldest Canadian museums where dinosaur fossils, indigenous works and native Canadian stones are found.
A nice small university collection with some highlights. I like the fact that it is free and that they still do research in this building which lies in the middle of the campus.
much smaller than I tought it would be, ideal for children I think
The perks of working at mcgill university, you get to see these amazing creatures at the Museum. Definitely a must visit.
Small but fun. The kids liked the dinosaur bones and stuffed animals. The mummy was a hit too.
Nice cozy museum to visit while in the center of Montreal. Our family enjoyed it! We had a side tour around McGill university so that was a plus!
Loved it!
Very nice museum, has a bit of everything that you could ask for as an natural Science and anthropology fanatic. Loved it
Beautiful museum, feels like being on a Harry Potter movie !!
A great place to see some of Canada’s natural history. This is the site of the first university and the first lecture hall in Canada. It is also the first university in Canada, to allow women to pursue an education. This museum houses pieces from Ancient Greece and Rome, Shinto Japan, and the kingdoms of Africa and Australia. It also contains both contemporary creatures and those from millions of years ago: giant tortoise, raptors, and monsters of the deep. You will not be disappointed by a visit here and to top it off: it is free. Enjoy!
Nice little museum. Great for children and adults. Quiet atmosphere. Don't knock over the dinosaur skeletons.
Great and charming museum with collections of fossils, crystals, skeletons and dinosaurs. Just to walk through Dawson Gallery worth to visit Red Path museum. Greek revival building happens to be oldest building build for museum in Canada. Visiting Montreal cannot be completed without seeing this true gem!
Great place to learn about natural history. Old style museum that is great for kids.
Family oriented. Great place for the kids, not the best if you are on a date.
Lots of exhibits with excellent explanations. Good for all ages & education levels.
I learnt so much here! If you are around downtown drop by for half an hour and witness the huge triceratop fossil! The exhibits were really informational, and the animals, rocks and fossils were curated so well. There's something for everyone, and I love this place so :) thank you for the people behind this museum!
Really cool place!
Closed unexpectedly
Great place! Great collection. Only problems...no where to park and no AC. If its a hot day, dont go. The third floor was 40 degrees.
Interesting, but small museum. It only took my wife and I about 30 minutes to see it all. We didn't spend much time reading all the information about every display though. This would be a great spot to bring kids to see different animal displays, rock/minerals, and some ancient artifacts. The entry fee is a recommended donation. The metro is about a 10 minute walk away. .
(Translated) Fan of natural history museum! A great place to know everything about nature, our planet, wildlife, flora! Little more, you give what you want at the entrance of the museum! A beautiful place and a beautiful building!
I recommend to visit this location to understand the World history
Very nice museum. Minerals, dinosaures bones and cultural artifacts. Really nice!
Nice place to see some really interesting pieces of history. I really liked the dinosaur fossils.
Make a donation on the door . A large victoriana style building houses a big variety of natural history artifacts. An impressive collection indeed! From a life size dinosaur skeleton as you enter the first room to many stuffed animals from Canada. Polar bear, wolf and caribou . Marvel at an actual piece of meteorite A hand written letter by Darwin , a shrunken human head and some Egyptian mummies. This could be a collection from an eccentric victorian's house such is the style and presentation of it all . It has a lovely personal touch .Dare I say it reminded me of ' A night at the Museum' ! Things felt like they could actually come to life .loads of fun for an hour or two
This is an incredible museum! My kid enjoys it very much!
Pretty cool place. Plan on spending 2-3 hours tops here. Some neat displays, but it's not the biggest museum, so your expectations should be based on that. It's free, with a suggested donation. Went with a 5 year old and almost two year old. They were entertained enough.
free (by donation) museum right on campus chock full of bones, stones fossils and mummies! to read all the info would take the whole afternoon, and many things to look at for those who don't want to read.
Great small private collection. Bring your kids and they will find something to like. Minerals, mummies, dinosaurs and many other things to enjoy There is no set price as they take donations. donate at least 5$ per person
Decent exhibits, nice size
Wow
Nice museum, a great place to bring curious young kids
Cute place to visit if your touring McGill
For a donation only museum, incredible value. The 3rd level was incredible, let alone their selection of minerals and shells. Must check out if you're in Montreal!!
Great place for a rainy afternoon visit. The collections aren't huge, but you can spend a few hours there. Entrance is free (donation suggested).
Great varied collection of natural history.
Little treasure! Knowledgeable staff, shell and rock collections are great as are mammals and mummies.
(Translated) A great discovery, it's free but make a donation to keep this beautiful place! It is well ranked, there are many things to see and it is historically and culturally very rewarding. The architecture of the building is very well preserved. The baptism itself is very impressive. Thank you to the team and the museum's researchers.
If you are a student go there at least once. It's worth it. If you are visiting Montreal and have spare time go for it. It's worth it if you like dinosaurs. They have unique things.
A totally free museum to observe lots of fossils.
I went to this museum to see the exposition Altar de Muertos by de Mexican Student association ????????????????????????
Love the history of the place and that it's run by staff and students
I have tons of amazing memories from visiting when I was younger, the amount of artifacts was impressive. Impatiently waiting for the reopening of this museum, however. We miss you!
The most interesting free museum in Montreal.
Interesting place
Redpath Museum, one of MacGill university's properties, has a great selection of exhibition. We didn't intend to go there but we were so attracted to visiting there and we did it. I was surprised how bigger inside it is than my expectation. They have real mummies, which I had never seen in my entire life!!! Lots of fossils too! Admission fee is 10 bucks for each adults, but it's kinda voluntary contribution, so I would recommend this museum for low budget travellers. Awesome place! Thanks MacGill university.
I spent hours here and would go again and again and again if possible. The pricing is phenomenal (I think it is still free) for the amount of education you obtain and the knowledge stored within. Everything looks as it should: completely preserved for our enjoyment
Very interesting history of how the museum were born and a great collection (the samurai's armour still in my mind) . The building has a great view and in winter is a perfect "photo card". Mixed cultures from all around the world, animals and magic.
Been told this is a great place to visit and it’s FREE! Lots to look at, and lots to read. They were renovating and apparently didn’t display a lot of other cool stuff. But walking in where the T-Rex was located, was like me walking into a film set for first Jurassic Park film ???????? Highly recommended! Did I mention it's free? ????
Great museum and free of charge for students
Great museum! Go see for yourself.
Cool place
(Translated) Great little-known museum. Perfect for cultivating young and old alike! It takes between 1 hour and 1:30 with children.
(Translated) It is in the university area of McGill, a very interesting natural history museum, there is no cover but a donation (Original) Está en la zona universitaria de McGill, museo de historia natural muy interesante, no hay cover pero sí donativo
Absolutely stunning displays!!! Totally worth a visit!
Great place to see the building is unique great stop for tourists in Montreal
(Translated) It is a mix of natural history, has an amazing collection of dinosaur fossils, mammals and birds. Admission is free, it is at your discretion to donate a fifth to visit the museum.
You should definitely go!
Quaint ... From a steampunk dream
Excellent! Touring through the three levels of exhibits here made me want to go back to school. Admission is by donation, and the content is so worth every dollar you can spare. If you're in Montreal, skip the biodome and hit up Redpath Museum.
Nice place.
Good museum and no fees just donate what you want!
(Translated) Really cool and free museum to boot. Interesting collections to see.
Excellent place to take kids for a quick museum visit. It is small enough that they don't get bored of it but has enough interesting objects to stay entertained! Will definitely go back!
Great small museum with diffrent parts!
Excellent museum. All here is interesting. All the stones and composition chemical formula were really amazing to me. All the animals bones of the prehistoric era and animals extincted were outstanding. And by the way, free access.
Free entry. Two floor display. Very clean and organized. Dinasour bones, and some other animals fox, deer, moose, lion, fish, etc. Also has some collection of stones. Looking for parking on the street outside university.
We loved the scavenger hunt. I'd give it five stars had there been air conditioning. We went during a heat wave and it was really hot inside this museum.
For some reason, their opening hours and days are always wrong here on Google. It was even showing open in summer of 2021 when it has actually been closed for a year now due to the pandemic - and it's not know when they will be opening again. Through the door glass I could see the items inside the museum were all wrapped for protection (dust, etc). As for the museum itself, while it's at a very small scale, it's a little tiny copy of the Natural History Museum in London (UK). Don't expect much, but you will like the 'old wooden library' feeling inside.
(Translated) Very cool. Great tourist spot for children and adults! (Original) Muito legal. Ótimo ponto turístico para as crianças e adultos!
Went there with our kids (age 9 and 6) this August. Wonderful place, very traditional layout in a building of classic late 19th century architecture. Kids absolutely loved it.
(Translated) Oldie but goodie An old-fashioned natural history museum, a little cluttered but endearing and with a lot of information and treasures that you have to take the time to discover.
A must see if you like natural history museums. It's small, yet it's like the 'best of' from a dozen quirky collectors of minerals, shells, dinosaurs, mummies and more. Bird lovers can see mounts of the extinct Carolina parakeet, Passenger pigeon and Eskimo Curlew. Sad, but important.
(Translated) Very nice experience to discover the museum at night during the white night! Atmosphere guaranteed! Ambiance garantie!
I hadn't heard of this before but it was a major highlight of my trip! Really great museum on the university campus.
A great museum, lots of information. Kids will love it!
A very nice (FREE) museum in the middle of the campus. It has 3 floors and a over a hundred exhibits. Great for a family trip or bringing your kids in. Average time to walk around the museum is 45 minutes
damn mcgill is way cooler than waterloo lmao
Nice museum and it's free!
(Translated) The four stars are for the assured charm of this museum. Anthropology, mineralogy (very nice collection) and stuffed animals come together in a space which certainly deserves a good refreshment, but which is full of nuggets.
(Translated) Nice little museum free remarkable architecture. Unusually the presence of 2 real Egyptian mummies. (Original) Jolie petite musée gratuit architecture remarquable.
An amazing museum displaying a wide variety of dinosaur fossils. To compliment this, they have a nice area displaying the vertebrate species present around Quebec. There is also a great display of multiple rocks, minerals and geodes for all people enthusiastic about geology. Lastly on the top floor, thia museum houses several mummies, but also holds traditional/classic items found in cultures around the world. Although there is no fee to enter the museum, there are suggested prices for specific age groups.
Nice museum
Such a huge collection of artefacts in a university (McGill).
The presentation isn't perfect, but there's plenty of information and interesting displays! I would say it's worth stopping by if you're around the McGill campus, but maybe not going out of your way to see it.
Beautiful museum and free entry, takes maybe 2 -3 hours to really look through and admire the exhibits.
Very interesting, jumbled collection of cool stuff. Old building so no air conditioning - on a very hot day it made it hard to spend the time needed to look at everything.
From Japan:) Perfect place to satisfy biological curious. They have so many exhibits like as animal bones, fossils and minerals, etc. Great for children and students. 10 dollars are suggested as admission fee for adults.
Interesting blend of a bit of everything. Dinosaur skeleton hanging off the roof of a classic building
It's a Really good place!
(Translated) The eyes of the children when they saw the skeletons of dinosaurs were worth gold.I loved it is free but it is possible to make a donation what we have done so that this magnificent museum remains open to all.Bravo to people from McGill super job.
This place needs and deserves more love. There are cracks on the wall (undergoing repair while operating). Instead of guides, guests are to read printed materials attached to the exhibits.
I liked to Natural history and Egyptian...
Random: feels stuck in the 70s. Antiquated exhibits. The grand room is impressive but the whole thing lacks something. Feels amateur and underfunded.
Good place for children to learn. Not to go on too hot days due that it is not having fresh air that runs inside.
Very interesting, a little crowded on Sunday afternoon but definitely worth it
Very good collection for a University museum.
Worth it for the price, which is by donation! Not a huge museum by any means. But the collection is impressive. Located at the university, it's worth the trip. The dinosaur bones are everyone's favorite. There's also an extensive geological collection and some other interesting exhibits. It's a great way to spend an hour or two (or three!). Be generous and donate.
Wow!
Want to learn a lot of things in a movie like rooms ? Go there!
It was a great little free/donate $ kind of fun museum. Had some interesting things.
They got a dinosaur skeleton!!! Very interesting collection of stuff ranging from animal carcasses such as a narwhal’s tooth to mummies. If you like natural sciences and got an hour to kill, take a tour of the place!
Professor Devuyst organized and excellent brass chamber groups concert. The surroundings were just terrific! McGill University Concert.
It one of my favorites the exhibition it's good the only thing it's that they must have a tour guide on charge of giving more info
(Translated) Excellent museum of natural history. Many surprising things to see and discover.
Spirit of old things is around. Nice place for children and adults
Great museum, especially if you like dinos and prehistoric animals, plus it's free as well! You can donate any amount of moneg you'd like though
Very nice place to go with your kids. They could learn a lot about minerals the life on earth since the beginning as well as they have some nice dinosaur skeleton that my son loved the most. What’s good the admission is free but you’re welcome to give a donation.
Nice museum with lots to look at! The exhibits here are honestly amazing. Its run by donation when you enter. There are 2 floors in this very beautiful old building, bottom has evolution of nature like dinosaurs and animals in canada. also has an amazing rock collection. Upstairs seems to be on cultures and the history of culture around the world. I loved seeing the 3 Mummys they had !!!
Great tiny museum! Lots of rocks, bones, fake animals and rocks. Did I mention lots of rocks?! Overall three thumbs up
Nice place
Great collection, easy to spend a couple hours here. By donation admission, which is nice but bring cash!
A good variety of exhibits with excellent information. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is on a campus and part of those facilities, so that's something to note when planning your visit.
(Translated) My kids (5 years old) loved seeing the big fake dinosaur skeletons. Personally I was bored and it seems obvious that this museum has not evolved one iota since ok Iustres. Everything is dilapidated and lacks appeal for new generations (over 5 years old) looking for something to entertain themselves. Montreal has much better museums to visit. This one is I believe free though. At least it was when I went.
It was awesome
(Translated) Free museum that allows you to discover many things about the evolution of species including ours. To do with family. Bonus, fun activity for the little ones.
Small but cool (bonus for being free)
Small, so good for kids.
Unimpressive
Interesting!
Free natural history museum!
(Translated) A really dilapidated museum which has failed to enhance its collection through museology. It lacks cohesion and even history. However, the museum has the advantages of being picturesque (in the middle of the mcGill campus and old building).
You know it's gonna be good when the museum itself is a piece of history.
Tiny, beautiful and informative.
No AC, but there was a cooling room, so that was good. Everything is contained in three compact floors so you can see everything quickly.
Very interesting museum!
Very good museum, small and has suggested donation of about 10 CAD
I thought it was an interesting place to check out, it has free admission. It is good to support such institutions so always donate something! …
Seeing it was free, quite a good value. Enjoyed the animals and mummy exhibits. Wasn't very good for young kids, I brought a 2 y/o and a 5 y/o, they got bored well before I wanted to leave.
It's fascinating to learn about our past. Bit small but a gem.
Great place to learn history
Really fun and casual for a Sunday afternoon. While a smaller museum, there's no shortage of amazing things to look at! I can imagine kids really having a great time exploring the different floors.
If you're not interesting to see animals don go to this place. This museum is more for kids and I don't like to much.
Love the dinosaur exibition
Its free and has some cool fossils. If in the walking vicinity its worth a visit.
Historical building with a rich history and friendly staff
Addicted....
Excellent small museum which located in McGill University, Montréal, Canada, good place for learning the history of Canadian nature, and it’s free!
Can't beat free. We parked at Kennedy public parking a block away. The campus has some great architecture. Plenty to see and do to entertain the kids for about an hour.
(Translated) Beautiful museum! The kids loved it. (Original) Superbe musée ! Les enfants ont adoré .
Should be close in the summer, no A/C
A must visit for anyone in Montreal as not only is it a quaint museum but it is also free. On your way in you can see the beautiful McGill campus, a nice spot on its own and the museum, although small, has some nice animals and dinosaur bone collections that are well worth a look. Our son (18 months) was in awe of the full size ape and T-Rex, as were we.
My son really enjoyed the mummy exhibit. My complaint is that I was dying of heat.
This place is the best to spend the time with kids. A lot of and various things are displayed
I LOVED this place. So much history and culture on display. This is a must visit on your trip to Montreal.
A small but rich collection of specimen. Great learning opportunity for kids. Never expected such inside an university!
Cool old collection of specimens and minerals. Smells like beautiful, ancient stuff- three floors to explore.
Wonderful experience. It was nice to see some of the artifacts that I remember from my childhood, i. e. the cross section of a Douglas Fir, and the dinosaurs.
A small museum but with so much to see.
Interesting place
(Translated) It is a place full of natural history. You can find fossils of all kinds and history of the land and Canada. It is small but with a lot of information. It is free to enter and they suggest you leave a donation. You can also tour the facilities of the beautiful McGill University. Amazing. Jam packed with information, and better yet, free entry!!!
(Translated) This museum in the heart of McGill University is free, the conservation program is funded only through donation, and it has a large number of fossils, stuffed missing animals. Negative point: no air conditioning, and it can get very hot.
Thought it would be more then it was but I'm glad I went.. have a 5 $ donation..
Compact natural history museum within the McGill University campus.
It's free!! Just note that it opens at 1 PM on Sundays during the summer. My 4 year old daughter loved the dinosaurs and they let her hold an actual bone. Pretty cool. I loved the mummies on the top floor. They have a drinking fountain with the water bottle filler. Really appreciated that because it was so hot in there without AC. It's an older building without handicap access so we had to climb stairs but they let us park our strollers near the entrance.
Excellent place to visit with the kids. In the heart of downtown Montreal on McGill university's beautiful campus. Admission is free ( donations are requested ). About one hour to leisurely walk through the museum.
It's a tiny museum with 2 floors but it still takes sometime to go through if you are examining each pieces in details. My favourite sections are the fossils and the animals. I recommend visiting if you aren't not in the mood to spend a lot of money and an entire day to be stuck indoor but you just want to spend 1 or 2 hours. If you are fast you can probably finish the entire museum in 15 minutes or less. Both French and English are available here and the entrance fee is by donation. It's also on McGill campus so if you pass by just go check it out.
Got to play a fun game about evolution with kids.
Amazing little museum packed with fun
Fun museum with ancient Egyptian mummies, dinosaur fossils and other history.
Small, but interesting.
Amazing mystery museum.
Great Museum with a lot of stuff to discover.
Nice old school museum and there are often presentations and talks organised for University Students even if you are not from McGill University.
Interesting and free. Worth a stop
Interesting for a free museum
Great place to take kids very educational. The staff is always happy to help and answer questions
Knowledge! It's haz it!
Beautiful museum. Kids will love it. Especially dinausor's fans. Fossils workshops in the heart of downtown Montreal. Well maintained. 100% recommended.
Nice exhibits.
Great little museum, especially considering it was free. We enjoyed walking through and seeing the exhibits.
Loved it.
Got a full trex skeleton inside!
Great place for sketching!
Super
I love the fact that its a donation entry fee You can come back as you want. Theres a lot of history in there.
Amazing
Dinosaurs :D (and really good explanations)
Very cool museum, nice Egyptian collection. They closed at 2pm the day we were there which stunned early. Still worth going to
Nice place to see and show the kids
Nice place, historical and natural stuffs
(Translated) A very nice three-level museum and it's free, perfect if you bring children. The collection of shells and minerals is very complete and precious. The museum is part of the McGill University campus. The workers are very friendly and answer your questions with a smile.
Free museum that had plentiful of interesting exhibits ranging from fossils, animals, geology, etc. It was a great spontaneous building that we found from touring McGill University. There are three floors to the museum and each floor had its own theme. It was a large museum given that it was free and there was a lot to learn from reading the posts assigned to each exhibit. One downside is that there is no A/C during the Summer, which can prove to be very hot. While they have fans around, it can become very humid.
(Translated) Very interesting, it is inside the Mgill University. Admission is a voluntary cooperation fee.
(Translated) A very beautiful museum, and very reasonable and "voluntary" entry fees.
Great pieces and artifacts
It is like going back in time to a museum from the 70s. Good experience.
Small but packed with a lot of cool things
Absolutely worth the visit. They have an amazing collection of natural history and human history items.
Have amazing skeletons, but no air conditioning
If you love learning about History, this is the place. All the items in exhibition are accompanied by cards with a lot of interesting information. Sometimes the order is a bit hard to figure out, but you can easily understand the context and research about everything. The best part is on the third floor, the anthropology section!
Small but awesome museum packed with lots of good artifacts that are cultural, or natural. Great place to spend a couple hours. You can do the whole place in that time.
Skelton of dinosaur is awesome
Free
(Translated) Located in the heart of McGill University, the museum is not very large but the collection is interesting and the main hall is quite beautiful. Visit according to voluntary contribution, $ 10 suggested. In short, if one day you do not really know what to do, go take a look (Original) Situé au cœur de l'université de McGill, le musée n'est pas très grand mais la collection est intéressante et la salle principale est assez belle. Very cool!
One of the kind
Great little museum with real mummy and dinosaur skeleton. Very interesting!
Really nice little museum it's especially considering that it's free! Lots of dinosaur bones/replicas and many stuffed animals which my children enjoyed. Several mummies. Worth a stop.
I could spend all day here.
Wonderful, clean, and great free exhibits. Especially fun for children and families
Fantastic place with Dinosaur skeleton and two mummies. Free entry.
(Translated) For a university museum I was pleasantly surprised! There is a beautiful collection of all kinds of themes and even real mummies. The seashell collection is really beautiful! It's a nice little outing to do if you're in the area! It is free but it is possible to make donations to maintain the premises! Loved this place...
Some mislabeled stuff. A lot of empty displays
Interested place to visit! Good deal going first Sunday of month
I love going on Sundays for the activities with kids. My 4 year old was enthralled and i

Fascinating building, lots of amazing artifacts and fossils. The building itself is beautiful, the architecture alone is worth checking out. It's also free - donations only.
A little smaller then most museums but still plenty to see
my friend and i spent several hours here. they have awesome displays, its all run by students and its free to get in. really cool place
(Translated) Great wow visit with children of 7 and 4 years old. They loved it. The collection is beautifully presented.
It is free. I recommend it. Is small, but have a good collection and information about the life on Earth. Close early, at 5 p.m.
The location is smack dab in the middle of downtown on McGills campus. Signage if you are arriving from anywhere is very poor. I understand that it is a university run museum but a small fee instead of a voluntary donation will greatly help with the upkeep of the museum. Like the addition of an HVAC system would make those summer month visits more enjoyable. Perhaps the addition of an elevator. But as far as the exhibits go, you have a lot to look forward to. However the displays are a mishmash of information and there is no clear direction of what the museum is trying to be. It's still great but can be vastly improved.
Interesting material but no common theme.
I am in love with this museum. Quirky beautiful, educational. Everything I want in a natural history museum.
(Translated) I attribute 1 star not to the museum but to the experience I draw from it. I really wanted to go to this museum but I could not. Because, parking IMPOSSIBLE. After going around in circles for 20 minutes, I left excited. DO NOT COME BY CAR!
Really great experience and staff really welcome
(Translated) Wonderful place. On the campus of McGill University. The suggested admission price is at your discretion! Give $ 10 and it's worth MORE, than the price! Whether reconstructions of the skeletons of dinosaurs, stuffed animals from here or elsewhere. The permanent exhibition as well as the temporary one are really worthy of the greatest museums in the world! Go there by subway;) (Original) Merveilleux endroit.
Smaller than it appears in the pictures. It has a bunch of minerals and cool stuff. Sadly, it was on renovation.
A MUST to see when in Montreal
Small compared to other museums of the kind. But still very surprising!
A little smaller than expected. Interesting collections with varied themes. No interactive feature but the old fashion style has its charm. Nice location.
Free (contributions suggested) and amazingly interesting.
Very educative!
(Translated) Very simple but interesting museum. It appears to have been organized by students and volunteers. The park at the front is beautiful and the kids love the dinosaurs, well worth the visit.
Very neat place, good quality exhibits, no AC so the top floor was pretty warm
Amazing permanent exhibition My son and all his class loved it when we went. It has a jurassic feeling.
Great concise overview of evolution at first floor, starting to your left. In a timetravel order. And moreover, for free. Great review
Great little placement. Bring a donation
Good place for kids
Considering the small size it really packs in a lot of different things. It even has a dinosaur in there!
Great old old-school natural history museum. However during hot summertime days almost unbearable. No ventilation or AC.
Really great museum, especially considering it’s free. One thing to keep in mind: it’s not very accessible for strollers.
Thanks to Mcgill this museum is super entertaining, great presentations, clean place and donation based. Awesome place where Ive learned a lot. Lots of stairs so not ideal for a baby stroller and that is my only complaint. Baby had so much to see she didn't mind!
Nice and free
Awesome place! Looks like a museum from the movies!
Plenty of interesting stuff to see, all by donation
(Translated) Worth a visit is free if you can give a cooperation (Original) Vale la pena visitarlo es gratis si puedes dar una cooperación
(Translated) Wow! Really cool! I was there with my 4 year old son and he loved it, he was very interested in everything in the museum! An educational outing that does not cost much since the entry is voluntary contribution! I recommend! (Original) Wow! Vraiment cool!
Don't forget to donate (could be easy to miss)!
Awesome museum, clean, not expensive (donate what you can), great for family, groups and romantic date! Will go back soon!
Stayed in Montreal for 4months and only 2 weeks left for me. Redpath is the most attractive spot for me by far. This museum is really impressive by its establishment and wide varieties of creatures. Strongly recommend this place. Huge …
A very memorable trip.
It was a great experience for my kids
It is an amazing Free museum. Lot of history, cultures and generation covered. Admission is absolutely free, although voluntary donations are appreciated and encouraged, and they have dinosaurs. Among other things.
Great exhibits!
Good mineral collection
Small museum with some neat collections. Worth having a look around =)
(Translated) For a free museum, one can only be interested in the collection. It's a little austere place, but still smacks of the rustic side of things. We agree, don't have fun comparing this kind of place with other well-known natural history museums, you will be clearly disappointed, but if you pass in the area and have an hour to devote, go for it without hesitation. We can see among other things the bones of mammals and other large cetaceans, false dinosaur bones (of no great interest to me) a meteorite, mummies, and a lot of tools and objects from ancient civilization. Add to that a little taxidermy and not bad, even a lot (too much we will say it) of crystals of all kinds, and you have a busy hour.
cool place, people walking around were boring and normy as frick tough
Great place for kids
There are many things you get to see here like dinosaurs, animals....
A nice discovery and a must stop if you visit Mc Gill campus or golden square mile .... volontary contribution ....
We went during spring break. It was our first visit. My oldest son is six, it was nice that they had an exhibit and activity on paleontology, since he loves dinosaurs. He especially liked the complete Gorgosaurus skeleton and the Triceratops skull. I found the information on the Corythosaurus they discovered in 2018 in Alberta very interesting. Waiting for them to uncover the fossils they brought back and assemble the skeleton. That would be a nice addition to the museum. It's a nice, quiet, and educational place to visit in the heart of McGill U and Montreal. Recommended.
Very cool
Unique display of mineral stones, shells, African and indigenous collections
(Translated) Very nice museum! Very english in style. Free admission, suggested participation. The building is as interesting as the collection.
Very cool museum with lots of different things to appreciate. The fossils are amazing and it's worth visiting, because of all the other exhibitions they have there.
It was great !!
Visited the dinosaur skeleton with my daughter
(Translated) Great museum !! Really interesting even for my two children aged 4 and 6 ????
Great museum, it have a lot of things to see and learn. There's always a lot of students and guides who explain all.
Great museum! Not too large but had a wonderful collection of fossils and minerals and antiquities.
Nice museum . My son enjoyed
The entry to this museum is free.It is located at the McGill campus. It is really a well preserved gem in the city that keeps the history of canada .Definetly ,should be added to any traveller’s list while coming to Montreal.
Should be 5 stars if they have elevator
Cool museum nice Dino's
Very small but very cute. And free! Well worth your time if you're into natural history or Indiana Jones.
Wonderful little museum! The entrance is free, but you can make a donation. It is a great activity for kids and you can spend about two hours without getting annoyed. On the other hand, it is a hassle to find a cheap place to park your car.
Great for kids!
A nice little place with a bunch of interesting pieces in their collection.
(Translated) Free museum with activities for children (sometimes). Section of minerals and taxidermy of different species. As well as reconstructions of skeletons of dinosaurs and some fossils.
Great museum but so hot inside
Lovely to see all of this amazing bones
A total gem in Montreal. Exploring the museum feels like visiting Indiana Jones' home. From mummies to dinosaurs to enormous crabs, this place has it all. The size is such that you can easily fit it into your day and enjoy every exhibit. …
Neat little collection of artifacts.
Lot of things to see there, meteorite, dinosaur, mummy's... Simply fascinating.
Just the right size for a visit with kids (10 and 6). We walked there from Ste-Catherine street in -15 weather and no one complained, even on the way back. Fun to show and explain the university setting. Museum is very interesting and there is a simple donation box at the entrance. Suggested donation is 20$ for a family. There is a little gift shop with nice affordable options for young and old. We went during March break around 2:30 PM and it was easy to walk around and enjoy the exhibit without ever feeling crowded. My son loved the dinosaurs and we all liked seeing and learning about various local wildlife, crystals & stones. I would be happy to visit again :)
Good exhibits. Interesting.
So much history! Was here for hours just reading everything. Loved it!
Awesome
Ok place to spend an hour or so looking around. Some interesting stuff, but kids need to be able to read or at least have a big attention span to really enjoy it.
(Translated) This museum must be known. Admission is free (it's just a matter of giving a contribution). The various vestiges that we see there plunge us into a completely different universe.
Fascinating! Well worth a trip to the university! A splendid collection of specimens.
(Translated) Very pleasant, beautiful little university museum. On voluntary contribution. Many different seashells and minerals, some skeletons of animals and dinosaurs. In addition there is an anthropology section with 3 mummies.
Great neat place to visit. Very educational. Parking is a problem but it was expected in a university.
Amazing! Loved it, and my kids too.
A lot to see
Very interesting for kids and adults
And absolute delight!!!! So happy it's open to the public. A true gem worth discovering!!
(Translated) I loved the museum, to see the mummies especially. In addition, to see the huge shells and in addition that one can have a serious disease by picking shells. The ruts that can be found at Mont St-Hilaire and Greenville. So much to see, the skeletons .... Thank you. Merci. Merci
Beautiful little natural history museum.
Wonderful collection for teaching and learning. Geology geeks abound!
Fun place to hang out and see cool cultural anthropology and archaeology
Very nice museum.
Absolutely loved our family visit here. My son adored all the dinasouars. He was so amazed.
Great collection and great guides who are well informed
My goodness this place is awesome
It is a nice museum, just do not drive there or you must, try parking on Peel closser to the museum you might get lucky finding a spot. Kids will have fun seeing animals and my 3 year old likes the Mummies lol
Good place, the history it express it wonderful.
Impressive for a free museum. Great staff!
I was super impressed with the collection, the people in charge of explaining some artefacts / items were awesome. I definitely recommend to everyone
(Translated) An old-fashioned museum with a lot of charm. Many things to see and discover. Very good for young and old. I recommend without hesitation (Original) Un musée à l'ancienne avec beaucoup de charme.
Nice option for a couple of hours on a cold day with kids. Really liked architecture and exhibits (rocks, shells, Dino bones...)
Excellent collection of evolution of sea life, meteorite and some ecosystem. However becomes warm and humid for lack of air conditioning system. Very conveniently located inside McGill university.
attended "science" session, quite dissapointed. then cancelled our next visits in the following days. We went there after the CBC talks where redpath museum staff advertised. However it turned out really not well organized. Only 2 students with less than 5 pages ppt on only a laptop. I would like watch youtube clip. I dare to say that was the worst science activity I ever attended. Felt sad about Mcgill as well.
Love this spot!!! So many different things to see
Great museum entirely run by students. The fact that it is free only makes it better for those broke travellers looking for a cheap activity. The dinos could be a bit more realistic but I guess they were ok for bone remains (I don't think I know how archeology works). Mummies were cool too... Just go visit you won't regret
Staff is sweet polite an very helpful Lots to see an do
Loved the museum
It's free and there is a lot of interesting stuff. I liked to see all the animals and see how big they are, the stones and their colors and the Egyptian section. It was a fun day!
3.5 stars- Not easily accessible (no on-site parking) so therefore more difficult for people with limited mobility to visit. Also not child friendly (i wouldn’t take kids under 5 here). I expected more of a dinosaur focused exhibit, the …
(Translated) There is a bit of everything in one place. The architecture of the building is worth the detour alone.
(Translated) I will never tire of visiting this museum with my children. Really complete from the nature section (fossils. Animals. Minerals) history (Egypt mummies. Realmente completo desde la sección naturaleza (fósiles. Animales. Minerales) historia ( momias Egipto.
It's nice place to spend one hour with the kids they will like the Dinosaurs and the animals there.
Interesting expositions, and donation based. Definitely worth a visit.
A great variety of exhibits and it's free. Turned out to be one of my favourite museums during my trip to Montreal.
Great little museum if you need to kill some time in the McGill neighborhood. I was impressed with the large collection of items they have on display. The inside of the building is beautiful. A great place for kids and their families!
Very good museum. When you first walk in you think, oh this is a bit small, but as soon as you go upstairs it opens out. Plenty to see and read. Everything is in English and French and most importantly it's free!! Very nice refuse from the cold outside!
I love the Redpath Museum, from its funky dental advert to its mummified cats and horrid taxidermy. Cleanest toilets in Montreal too..., must be because scientists wash their hands.
Nice visit lots to see
Very beautiful collection of rocks and shells. There is a rock of display called McGillian. And dinosaur skeletons are always fun to watch! Best of all admission is free for students.
Great museum and exhibits!
Free of charge, nice place to visit in the university, very very worth this walking.
(Translated) So many millions of history in this wonderful place ❤️ (Original) Tantos millones de historia en éste maravilloso lugar ❤️
Pretty interesting museum, and free admission to the public! Great visual of how the Earth has changed over millions of years, with animals, bones, videos, and skeletons.
Great museum
(Translated) A real cabinet of curiosities, between dinosaur bones and Egyptian mummies and all these stuffed animals, a real paradise for any Darwinist. I really recommend everything, plus I do not know if I was a special day, but it was free.
Small museum but we enjoyed here!
The museum is by the side of the library, overlooking the lower McGill field. It was a place to destress during my McGill days. The museum have a lot of interesting collection on the historical and living earth, biological, geological, civilizational and cultural aspects. Allow a lot of imagination for all ages to travel back in time and spaces. Moreover, it is free. A voluntary donation is highly recommend to encourage staff to keep up the good work.
A gem in Montreal. Historical, educational and fun. A great place to bring the family and explore.
An amazing place to bring children if they have interest in fossils and dinosaurs. The staff is super friendl running informative workshops.
Informative and enjoyable.
Very nice place for a date! If she's into museums...
There are a few nice exhibits but it is showing its age. That said it is free and it's hard to argue against free.
One of the best and oldest Museums of Nat Hist in Canada. Great staff and amazing exhibitions. Plus it's in the hearth of Montreal!
A great museum with a wide variety of objects on display. From dinosaurs to old playing cards, it's a pretty cool museum and its only a few minutes away from McGill metro.
Small but has a variety of exhibitions to explore. I liked the Kava vitrine!
Love
This museum has 3 floors: The first is a simple, small place with skulls from large mammals. Washrooms downstairs. The second floor is ocean and rocks, prehistoric, and Canadian animals. When you arrive on this floor, immediately are lots of beautiful seashells and rocks. It is magnificently presented. I can look at each conch shell and fall in love. And that's not even the best part. You turn right and enter the main room of prehistoric animals. OMG this is a breath-taking, beautiful view of the museum!! Then, the back (near the windows) are lots of information about animals we actually know. Around the walls are actual scientists working! The third floor contains many, many display windows of history from around the world. The history for each artifact is very brief, but still interesting. If you visit a lot of museums yourself, nothing is new here. Still it is a beautiful museum. It is also free! It is peaceful and empty during the weekdays.
Beautiful museum and great artifacts! Great educational outing with the kids.
(Translated) A small museum that operates on the basis of donations. It is nestled in the middle of a beautiful campus and is worth a visit if you are in the area! An impressive collection of minerals and some beautiful fossils in an exceptional place, great experience.
Nice experience
Lukewarm
at the time that we visited, there were real mummies in there. Very well laid out museum.
(Translated) Very interesting for those who are interested in animals and their evolution. Some specimens are very impressive. If you come with children, it is really relevant to come when the museum offers activities because the exhibition is interesting for them but does not offer anything interactive to keep them interested.
Good value, since it's free!
Great museum, love to go there by myself and look at the very nice exposition and learn about the world and history
Great museum to see a lot of artifacts in a condensed space. The building itself is is off amazing architecture. You will find large wooden doors with amazing door knobs. Admission is by donation. There are washrooms on site.
Learn about the history of Montreal and what kind of animals we have here.
Always fascinating. Good collection.
(Translated) Very nice museum to visit if you are passing through Montreal (Original) Très beau musée à visiter si vous passez par Montreal
It's a little gem. A great half day trip for the budding little scientist.
Pretty cool little museum. 2 hour visit time of you are into this sort of thing. No air conditioning, so on hot days be mindful it’s a sauna inside. Also it took us 30 min to find parking, lots of construction near by and a lot of no parking zones due to being by the busy university.
Great collection
(Translated) Family visited museum. Rather small in size, ideal with children. Free entry but ballot box available to donate money. Minerals, fossils, skeletons, shells, stuffed animals ... lots to see. We were very interested. To do without hesitation ...
It takes an hour to finish your tour, not very exciting
Really cool space. Very "old school" museum style with lots of cabinets of curiosity and many artifacts you won't find in the average museum today!
Free entry
It’s a nice museum but no AC in the summer so it’s very hot. I’ve even heard that someone passed out last summer in there because of the heat!!! That’s why they’ve changed the hours to 2 pm!!! How come a huge well known university like Mcgill doesn’t have enough budget to spend on its museum?! What a pity!!!
Museum with a lot of interesting archeology discoveries
Excellent place to visit with students and family. The school's Ivy League feel brings a new impetus to learning.
Been going here since I was small boy and I'm glad it's still around for me to bring my son
Interesting displays in a beautiful setting.
Fun. Informative. Interesting.
An excellent place of a natural history. Can be interesting for adults and children as well
Good for kids general knowledge
Free for students, including those visiting from another university. Great way to spend an hour or two. Would recommend if visiting McGill on a conference / trip.
Nice little old school museum with a wide array of objects and artifacts. Nice way to spend some time on a cold Montreal day!
A cute little classic museum with a little bit of everything. Kids enjoyed it well enough. As mentioned before, this is a donation based admission. A "recommended" amount is listed if you aren't sure. Since the museum is fairly small, you will probably have to park any strollers on the first floor, and this is after lifting them up the museum stairs. Since the main entrance doors open outward, I would suggest bringing the strollers to the left of the main doors (the right door opens). They're aren't any guides or curators per se, but its great to just freely explore the exhibitions.
Decent old museum near downtown
Small but quaint. Some interesting finds, donation based.
A must see
(Translated) Very nice museum with lots of things to see. It’s sad that it’s still closed due to COVID.
Probably one of the best museum in Montreal!
Great for kids
Absolutely amazing museum. Very lovely sample selection for geologists! Great place to bring the kids!
Great place to visit especially with children
Very much enjoyed this place
Great little free museum on the grounds of McGill university. Take a walk through the campus afterwards.
Great and full of neat information! It's small, but that does not take away from the experience in any way!
Cozy and small museum for free. Good to visit.
I am a frequent visitor to this museum and support this museum to the fullest (until recently). The museum itself is an excellent, amazing experience. However I have witnessed unruly behaviour with faculty harrassing members of the public. In fact acting territorial on more than one occasion (it's almost expected upon each visit). This past week my fiancé and I witnessed a public outburst by a professor (Dr. Anthony Ricciardi) towards a young family, with children that were visiting (This was my breaking point after witnessing this event.) Unfortunately they were chastised because their two year old child was just being two. The professor started yelling that "this isn't a daycare centre" and slammed his door (imagine, a building over 100 years old, very delicate with precious artifacts and someone who is upset by a two year old for talking loudly, and slamming their lab door) My fiancé and I comforted the shaken family. That behaviour was uncomfortable for many visitors, students and other faculty members. This has been an ongoing issue, and rules need to be set in place on proper etiquette in dealing with the general public. Perhaps, even if the faculty are bothered by visitors then this building should not be open to the public. Another option would be providing appropriate training for faculty members in dealing with the general public. Personally, my generous donations have been discontinued.
Super interesting and eclectic museum. Free/donation so worth the price of admission and is on the McGill campus so that’s a bonus. If you are interested in geology/rocks you’ll be in heaven, but plenty of other things to appreciated and learn about for the rest of us. Student supported so that’s a nice feature of this museum.
A true gem hidden in the McGill campus. Go there for the Gorilla. Go there for the Quebec minerals (only if you're willing to learn new words. It is very technical). Go there to fosils, dinosaurs, whale bones. Go there not to eat or drink, as it is a dry place, with only water bottles allowed. I was admonished on the top floor by the "roman pots" lady because I was having a juicebox, had to follow her back to her office and drop it in her trash bin. This is a true history museum, with tons of artifacts and so many more that aren't even on display. Go there for the sense of wonder at the groundbreaking research McGill fellows did in the remotest parts of the world. Go there to see a mummy, to see a shrunken head, and many more of the worlds most bizzare artifacts. This is truly an oversized Kunstkabinett. GO THERE. THIS WEEK. NOW.
Really had a good time!! Learned a lot of things!!!
Nice collection of natural history
A real ecletic selection providing a concise history of McGill and the world. Very small but with historic value. Free with suggested donation.
A great museum to visit downtown in the middle of the campus, and the experience is interesting not to mention free!
My 8yr old is obsessed with minerals and this place did not disappoint. A huge collection of minerals and stones. As well as lots of other interesting things to keep us amused. Free entry with a donation at the door, worth noting there's no air con so on a hot day it's pretty warm the higher you climb up the stairs.
Very good spot
"Lee Young Jun PEN AR" Pen Art(General Remarks) Infinity of lines and dots have symbolism. Such symbolism is ever changing according to the spirit’s depth. All works are kaleidoscopic; they are usually composed of indescribable expressions. Therefore, art’s depth also can be said to be unlimited. Is pen art’s depth also infinite? In other words, do the lines and dots flowing from the nib of a pen have an artistic qualification? In this respect, it is worth thinking deeply. Pen art begins from an essence of nature’s fundamental values. From the standpoint of value, or color, a harmony of black and white is essential in nature. As it is impossible to see any color in darkness, distinguishing color is an essential role of light. That is why the soul is drawn to light. Whiteness, or light is a spiritual reflection of the soul while blackness, or darkness is a reality of life on earth. As the color green is an essential color of vegetation, burnt charcoal is an earthy color that will stay near black. Blackness is heterogeneous and may be hostile to life. If blackness belongs to the essence of nature, it also may be said to represent the image of death. A combination of black and white constitutes degrees of lightness and darkness. When painting black on a white background, the soul is transported to the white background. Whiteness comes to life when contrasted with black line and black space. In this case, soul also may be expressed through the blackness. Soul may be transported to the black or a combination of white and black, which shed a mysterious merit to the soul or spirit. Pen arts starts and ends from an essence of nature’s fundamental contrasts. The primary essence is infinite and eternal while the artistic harmony of black and white can take one’s breath away. But, this is not possible until a metamorphosis has been realized over many years and spiritual transcendence has occurred. The transfer of spirit occurs when one’s life experiences are projected onto the white canvas in harmony with blackness. That is the true ‘pen art.’ Artist Lee Young Junㄷ
(Translated) Old-fashioned museum, but very well preserved. The only pity is the fact that there is no air conditioning. The tour prices are just to give an indication of your voluntary contribution (Original) Musée à l'ancienne, mais très bien conservé.
Amazing stuff to see and it doesn"t take hours to see it all. Loved it!
Nice university museum - could do with better lighting in the fossils area.
(Translated) Superb museum. There are real and very old artifacts. Several museums present us reenactments. Here we are talking about real dinosaur skeletons and a real mummy! The kids loved it.
Good
A free museum that accepts donations. Great place to bring young and old alike! They have a large variety of artifacts. No a/c, a few fans around the building. Lots of stairs, no escalator or elevator.
Its free and really cool. I love the location. The dinosaurs and mummies are awesome. the only downfall was that there wasn't anyone there to ask questions on the artifacts.
Good
(Translated) Interesting natural history museum but rather small compared to the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.
(Translated) Small but rich natural history museum. It's free (and if you'd like to make a small donation), the exhibits are pretty good. It's a great place to see everything from dinosaur bones to rocks and exotic cultures abroad. 2nd ~ 3rd floor is much better than 1st floor. Don't go to the first floor and go up the second floor.
Nice museum spread over 3 floors. Some geology, some sea shells, some fossils and dinosaur bones, some animals, some Egyptian artifacts, some African artifacts, ... You get the idea, a lot of different things to look at and learn about. Some people can race through such a display in 15 minutes, but if you want to take the time to read the information about the displays you'll be there for a good 2-3 hours. One thing to be aware of is it is NOT air conditioned. You're allowed to take pictures, but no flash photography is allowed. Lots of stairs, so not really a great place for mobility reduced people. It is free, but donations are welcome to keep it in operation.
Really good
Took us max 20mins to go through this museum. Kids enjoyed the dinosaur the most. Beautiful architectural building with access to each of the three floors by stairs only.
Very beautiful!!!
Old school museum. Has that Victorian style to it.
Free admission, some cool exhibits, and a nice location right on the campus of McGill
Small museum, nice staff. Could be better in terms of explanations of exihibits
(Translated) Surrounded by McGill University, the Redpath Museum is not that visible. Once you know it, you like it and you like to go for it. Really cool old style museum
I was stunned to have the opportunity to touch dinosaurs' bones! This museum is very informational and magic, especially for school age children! Highly recommended.

Missing another shrunken head and a larher dinasairus
Very nice place to spend with kids.
Nice place to take the kids. Not very big but has a mummy.
Bilingual (French / English). The museum it's a must in Montreal. A great collection of human history and nature stories.
Besides no air conditioning or ramps/elevators was very interesting
A small museum with rich collection. Particularly the Mummies from Egypt are well kept.
Really amazing museum! Redpath has lots of great exhibits and it's really well curated! The best part isn't even that it's free - it's that good! Dinosaurs, birds, mummies, shells, rocks, and apparently the world's largest collection of preserved seahorses! There is really nothing to not like about this place!
A hidden treasure in the heart of Montreal
When I was growing up I was running around this museum all the time as my parents worked for McGill. The museum inspired me so much and helped me develop an interest in ancient Egypt and paleontology. I found a fossil at the beach and took it to a paleontologist who worked there and she taught me all about crinoids. We also used to attend lectures in their small theatre. I can't recommend the Redpath enough.
Nice collection
Donation-based admittance. Very open and friendly personnel willing to tell everything about the exposition to anyone showing even a bit of interest. The museum is very small. The most rich exposition is on paleontology and mineralogy.
Nice collection in a historical building
Interesting and engaging! Saw some sweet dinos and a gorilla. Entering is by donation so it makes for a nice stop while touring the McGill/downtown area. Only issue was the lack of AC but hey, it was Montreal in the summer time.
The museum is beautiful and organized.
(Translated) Nice activity to do with family. Free but I encourage you to donate to help finance such a beautiful place. Just the architecture of the place is worth the trip, in addition to the items on display. I go there minimum once a year with my family.
Cute small museum.
All around the world of history, awesome !
even it's a small museum. But It's good for family and kids spend time here.
(Translated) Very interesting. There are complete collections on a variety of subjects given the small size of the museum. It was very hot there, but it is possible to access a drinking trough. The museum is not at all accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Wonderful atmosphere and exhibits
Redpath Museum is very well kept. Quite a quiet place so it’s easy to take in all the information around you. Exhibits are very interesting especially the fossils! Would recommend.
Kind of disappointing.
Took my 6 year old there today and she loves it !!! She even got to make a mask .. the scenery outside is breathtaking. A perfect place for a relaxing outing
Nice old-school museum in the heart of downtown Montreal. Great for kids and adults, with lots to see. Donation based entry, so it’s sure to be of good value!
The Redpath is a must-see if you ever visit Montreal. I call it Montreal's Curiousity Cabinet because it has it all; dinosaurs, Egyptian mummies and so much more. One of the oldest museums in Canada, this museum offers its Victorian flare and wonderful photo and learning opportunities. I love this place! Amazing for all ages!

Amazing. Kid friendly. Great staff.
There are definitely a lot of things to see and explore in this museum. One time is never enough to get to read about everythinh they have in there.. Great place to go with kids, they will thank you tons of times and, will ask when you'll be visiting it again ????????
(Translated) Free museum where there is a dinosaur skeleton. My children were not interested in the other exhibitions. We did the tour in about 20 minutes.
Admission by optional donation. Beware that there is neither an elevator nor air conditioning. Small museum on McGill's campus. Exhibits are interesting.
Great place with free admission (by donation). There was 3 levels with variety of things to see from dinosaur skeletons to different types of rocks & minerals. There is a stuffed lion and gorilla along the stairs that you can get right up to (not behind glass) so that was very unique. Can easiest spend 1 to 2 hours inside, but they close in the early afternoon.
There is no admission fee. If you enjoyed watching, you can give us a donation. It's not big, but it's full of things to see. It's also good to go with younger children.
(Translated) Museum of Natural Science: Skeletons of dinosaurs, stuffed animals and animals. The entrance fee is in the form of donations. An absolute must if you're in Montreal. I'm especially fond of their gorgeous collection of minerals and seashells. Another part I absolutely love is the history of our planet. Very nice explanations for all ages (pun intended!). They also have a huge collection of taxidermy. They have varied exhibits and the staff there is very knowledgeable; don't be afraid to ask questions!
Fabulous walk
