You will be able to see the opinions of people who know the services of Montreal Science Centre (Museum) in the territory of Beloeil (Canada).
Right now the firm has a rating of 4.4 stars over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an opinions average is very good, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we may conclude that the rating is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Science museum.
Quite entertaining place for kids with simple science experiments and exhibitions..
I would say that this museum is mostly for kids and teenagers. Most activities are geared toward this age group. The spider exhibition was fascinating.
I work here and it's a good place. I have a tempered view of it since I've been here a while. As much as some things get old for me, I still see that visitors enjoy it quite a bit. It's definitely a good place for a family outing or a date.
We visited while in Montreal and the kids loved some of the science exhibits. The music room was a big hit. They have a room with various cubes and a soundboard where kids can make their own beats. My kids played here forever. There are also some other cool experiments where kids can try to encapsulate themselves in a bubble and power planes using solar power. It's located on the water which is nice and close to a food court. We didn't get to see the IMAX movie because it is only offered in English at certain times. On the day we visited we would of had to wait until 530 which was too long.
Wonderful family friendly facility. Can easily spend a few hours.
Great place for kids of all ages. Worth the membership.
Fun day. Can spend a whole afternoon just at the frabrik area
Cool, but not very accessible! My grandmother can't go upstairs, so we used the ramp to enter the building, only to be faced with stairs at the top of the ramp!
Beautiful building. Imax theater has recently been upraded and the moving expositions are usually very interresting. The permanent exhibitions are also a must and very cleverly created.
Its a picture of Canada and all its different geographical regions. It's a great time. Montreal has alot to offer.
Great place to bring your kids. There's so much that they can learn about over there. Most interesting scientific principles are explored in easy to learn hands on exhibits from space to electricity, magnetism to tornado's. Your kids will definitely enjoy themselves. Complete emersive experience for their curious minds. They have family combo experiences that won't break the bank including a viewing of some of your favorite IMAX 3D movies. I will definitely be taking my daughter back over here in the near future.
Great venue, very modern. Very accommodating for our event and parking was easy.
The special exhibits are great. The rest is much more kid-oriented and lots of the digital displays are broken.
Cool and super educational place for any age groups!!! Highly recommended!!!
The Montreal Science Center is always a really good activity for kids and grown ups of all ages. Something to learn at to amaze for all ages!
Lots of great things for the kids to see and do. The play place for the little ones is worth it alone. They would gladly have spent hours and hours there. The general displays are also great. Interactive and fun for kids.
Great place to spend the day out of the cold with the kids.
We came. We played cards upstairs by the elevator near the entrance. And we walked the whole symbol on the floor thing. Everything that was free basically. Was delightful
We had a great time with the boys.
Interesting shows, and high quality theatre, conveniently located in the heart of the old port of Montreal
Great place ! To learn sciences with your kids! Family activity’s
Awesome science center. Make sure to check out the Horos VR game outside, it's really cool!
Don't forget to take your kids to Montreal Science Center. Good place for all ages.
Great learning experience for both adults and kids!
Very interesting Adapted to all ages. Sorry that the prices for food and parking are so high
Outstanding place, you can learn a lot of things, also the kids will love this place.
Very nice place to take the kids to!! I don’t it’s really for adults!! The Toronto One has more entertaining stuff for adults. The fee is 22 dollars per person It’s cheaper than Toronto’s Parking I recommend you park outside because the parking you might pay around &10-15
Went here with a 5 year old and almost 2 year old. They were entertained enough. Compared to Vancouver's science world is a little below (imo) but plenty entertaining for the kids. (And that's kind of what matters). If you're looking for a place to take kids, then take them here.
Great place for kids and also parents. Good for introducing to imagination.
Was fun with the kids but was expecting much more.
Loved spending a few hours there - everything is well explained and the experiences are super fun and instructive. Plan at least 3 hours to visit.
A pretty cool place for older kids to explore. The Clic room is fun for little kids, including babies and toddlers.
Great exhibits, parking available, good food options. A bit expensive but an amazing place to spend the day with kids.
Went here for a wedding and if you want amazing food and a beautiful venue with fantastic views of the city this is the place to be.
Lots of fun and activities. Take some time to cover all of it. The IMAX experience is worth the extra amount, and the DreamWorks exhibition is also cool.
Great for kids and parents. Make sure you bring water though because fountains are rare.
Excellent hands on activities, our students greatly enjoyed.
Interesting museum where kids can play and learn easily!
This is a really fun place to visit with your family. There’s a cool sections at the start where you can build giant marble tracks. A woodworking area where you can make and test planes and boats. We really enjoyed the presentation on how the chemical composition of fireworks create different vibrant colors. The giant blocks at the end are a real crowd pleaser with the little ones! Would definitely go again!
Interesting only for kids
Great place to learn about science. Good exhibits.
Liked the place very much but one less star for less options for English speaking customers.
Great place to spends the day with my niece (4 years old) and nephew (6 years old). Educational and fun, they didn't want to leave.
A great winter escape and éducational activities for the young and old
For the price this is an amazing place to bring kids! I took my niece and we both loved it! The interactive museum and the fabrik area were so much fun!
A staple in Montreal. Would definitely recommend visiting at least once
One from the best activity for kids in Montréal, i advice the families to buy the annual membership, really it's amazing
The center was holding an exhibit on Dreamworks Animation while I was visiting that day. It was absolutely fantastic. As someone with a bachelor's degree in media arts and animation it was an amazing treat to go and see all sorts of behind-the-scenes looks at the animated features we know and love.
Lots of great interactive exhibits for all ages.
Great place to learn and have fun with family.
"Super good" says my eleven year old. Great hands-on learning.
Nice place to learn having fun. A lot of interactive stations to see science in action. You can go there on a date or with your kids. The museum is surouded by a nice plaza with lots to do and a great view over the old port and the old Montreal.
Amazing place, especially for children. Excellent hands on workshops.
Great place. Expositions are a good value to bring kids so that they learn interesting stuff
It's a great place if you have kids but it's a bit small, we finished in less than 3 hours. Everything is in both English and French option. There is 1 level of touch museum, 1 feature exhibit and IMAX theater. The shows are mainly in French but they did have a showtime in English that day we visited. FYI - travellers beware, since I came as a international visitor, the ticket fee was a lot more for what was on the website. Apparently, there is an international fee that I didn't take note of until after the fact but can't disappoint the little sluggers! ???? So please double check before purchase. ????
A lot of different expos throughout the year and they are usually pretty interesting
Very interesting expositions. Nice place.
Lovely place, the temporary exhibition was super pricy though for what it was. But the permanent exhibitions are cheaper and much better. The tinkering lab etc are priceless experiences for both adults and kids.
This has tonnes to do if you have children from, say, 6-13. My children were a little younger when we came and it was good, but much of it went over their head. It's strongly aimed at making science interactive, so there are very few static exhibits and not much specifically for adults. There is a kids section for those 0-4 - this is good, if not huge and with not much science behind it, but it's a good space and entry prices are very reasonable.
This is a must for people with kids. I definitely depend on the science centre, especially during the winter when it's hard to get outside with the kids. There is a softplay area for very young children, and an area that is a blast for kids and adults. I think my biggest issue, if you can call it that, is that there are not very many English screenings of the IMAX features.
Kids gonna have a great experience from here.
Enjoyed this science Center with two young kids under 5. So many things to touch and turn and pull. Absolutely a great time with the kids figuring out how all things work. The spider exhibit was presented with a lot information and live spiders. There was a workshop where kids can build things but was full at the time we went through. To get the full experience take 3-4hrs of your day to explore this center.
Closes a bit early during this time of the year but the current exhibit is great and really interesting
Great place to visit for people of all ages
This children’s museum of science is awesome. There are a ton of hands on activities that children love to interact with. They’re conserved quite well and they’re very pedagogical. They have a section where museum staff offer challenges to families. Those challenges are led by staff members, which make the whole experience even better.
Prepare to spend at least 2 hours because kids will want to play.
Good place for the kids. They change exhibits once a in a while which is good to keep some variety.
Main exhibit still is a kid favorite. There is a lot for them to play with and learn also. Probably about 4 to 5 hours to go through everything.
Awesome place for the kids to discover how the world works!
Kids loved it and they learned whilst having fun.
This place sucks. Everything is dirty and half the interactive activities are broken and don’t work. They should preface guests by saying “hey this place is only for kids, it’s literally a glorified playground, there is nothing remotely interesting here to people over the age of 10.” I hate science now :)
Fun hands-on science museum for kids. Smaller exhibit area than you'd imagine from the size of the building.
Definitely good, but geared more towards younger children. Could use a planetarium
So much fun and the exhibits were very well thought out. My kids had a blast. Everything is described in French and English so there is no language barrier for those worried about that!
Very cool place to take your kids. A lot of interactive exhibits! They have this cool satellite dish that allows you to hear a whisper from a corresponding dish about 100m away. Solar powered airplane mobiles, and a machine that lets you put a soap bubble as tall as yourself as you pull the lever. Very cool!
Interesting place for both small and older kids and adults While much smaller then the Ottawa museum it is well worth visiting. We went with two small kids, under 2 years. They totally enjoyed themselves for over 2 hours with a variety of interactive displays. Some they understood and others they just enjoyed the interaction. The kid specific playroom was a total hit and enough variety to keep them occupied for a further hour (until we wore out). While we were there there were several groups of teens going through and they too seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Just a note, the parking passes that come with the memberships do not work with the parking lot on the pier with the museum.
Awesome place with a great collection. Good option for the winter even if having children or not.
My daughter is under 2 yo so she was admitted for free. The space is very interesting for curious minds, though a bit advanced for a 2yo. The Clic! space is for 4 to 7 yos, which is not clearly stated on the website. Still, she did have lots of fun running around and looking at everything. Worth a trip, especially for older kids. Ticket comprises 4 expos (I think) and the Click room.
Very cool
There's lots of empty space here. These areas could be utilized to add more exhibits
Always a great place to bring the kids
Had a great time with my kids and I learned a lot.
Small and overpriced. Not much there. The hundreds of school kids with no supervision didn't help. My five year old was pushed down, had things ripped from his hands and moved out of the way by kids with no adult supervision. We ended up just leaving to avoid throwing some middle school kids across the room. Terrible for 100 bucks. You won't miss out on anything by skipping it. Enjoy the weather, it's free and much better than this place.
Great fun for the whole family with very interesting changing exhibits, but the permanent exhibits have a bunch of broken pieces that have been broken for what seems like years.
Fun for the whole family, learning activities and imax movies available. Great location with other activities in old Montreal available.
Majestic place , bring the whole family or your girlfriend too!
It's super interest g and it has a lot of eeriments to understand the theory of the themes in the expositions
Interesting exhibitions! Got the family yearly pass this time. Kids enjoyed it!!!
It's a beautiful and spacious place. With a lot of beautiful views.
I enjoyed it ....my niec was very exited about seeing this center.
This is a great place to bring your family for a fun and educational day. Ages 3 - 16, I guess?
Great exhibitions for especially kids. I (not a kid though), was also enjoyed lots of fun stuffs. However my husband and I were a little bit tired as there were so many kids running around that we needed to be careful and to give the spots when they wanted to play there.
Brilliant museum. Especially the 'Science 26' exhibition. This was listed as a great thing to do in the Children section of our guide book. But I went with 3 other twenty-something's and we all had an awesome time.
Definitely fun place to take kids 6+, the Fabrik was a big hit with our family, arrive early to beat the crowds
Massive interactive fun activities for kids in any age. The facility is clean and very well maintained. IMAX experience is also fantastic.
Super fun place for all ages. Loads of interactive exhibits that make science fun. Good diversity of games and experiments that bring science to a younger or non-science crowd. The IMAX has some good movies. Timing can be tricky for them depending on the English or French version wanted. Remember Montreal is bilingual.
This is a well-maintained children's science museum geared toward mostly elementary to middle-schoolers. Though smaller kids can have fun there, too. The front desk staff was very courteous and quite patient at answering questions. There is a pet/fur display on the first floor with coat check and storage boxes. The main exhibits stretch deep on most of the second floor as a long rectangular area. The second floor exhibits starts with a very open-ended workshop for building functional gadgets, sail-cars, battery-powered devices to be tested in the adjacent areas. Then going in, the visitors will see a medical exhibit, then with mechanics/physics, optics, machines, physical exercises area. It takes about 2-3 hours to explore all areas. You can easily spend half a day. The museum was located at river side where gorgeous views can be found. It's also within walking distance to old Montreal, the Basilica and many interesting small shops and tasty food.
Keep being a place where you can bring your little one occasionally, especially when there's no outdoor options.
Love the IMAX movies. Big immersive screen
Varied exhibits, spider exhibition was great. Probably one out of three of the interactive anatomy exhibits was broken, but I imagine it takes a lot of effort to maintain an attraction like this. Also crowded, but again to be expected especially in the summer.
Rs. 125 for 50pcs pack qty available 5000pcs,, pls confirm whether you have any interest in this lot of cable tie size 550mm* 9mm
Bring your own food here if you come between November and April. There's a nice food court in the summer but only a Van Houte open in the fall, winter and early spring. The expos are great with kids. It's a big treat, expensive.
Take the kids if you have a few hours to spare when in town, they wont regret it
This place is super fun to go to and I love all the expositions they have~
Judging by previous comments, it was supposed to be an amazing exhibit. There is catch though, this is not for adults at all, this is an advanced playground for middle-schoolers and this is something that should not remain untold when you get charged 25 dollars each (50 for my wife and I). Cashiers should notify their customers about the nature of the experience (along with all the yelling from all the children running all around the place, they will have to deal with). We really felt fooled and at which price... Thank you!
Lots of great new exhibits to check out. Parking is still a pain, unless you want to pay. BUT totally recommend the annual pass, worth it especially if you travel with your kids!
Another great interactive science center that's great for everyone.
Great place to take the kids. It is pretty small though
I took my students here and they loved it! The exhibits were all interactive and the kids were all engaged! The rooms are large, giving students plenty of opportunities to explore. It was the best Science center experience.
I love this museum for young kids and older.
Terrific exhibits and fun interactive games for the kids. Some of these are getting a little run down and don't work.
Went on free museum day for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very interactive and my kids ages 3&4 loved it!!
New expositions are really nice staff is nice too great prices I strongly recommend it
It was coll and creative also had fun stuff to do
Awesome science museum, lots of interactive activities and experiments! Great for kids off all ages!
Cool place for kids, go for the annual pass
Fun. Great spot to watch great movies with kids
Great place however too small, especially compared to the one in Toronto
Cool exhibits, and there's a workshop where you can build stuff! Very nice.
We had an awesome opportunity to interact with the world if science and with eachother!! Was super fun!
Nice place to visit, but it seems to be missing exhibitions most of the year. I guess you mostly go for the IMAX that is there. IMAX here is the original and it looks great!
Very great museum with so many interactive activities, great for kids.
It’s for seven-year-olds. When I went, the modern look of the building gave me the impression that it would be more informative and geared for teens or young adults; that was obviously not the case. The “exhibits” are meant for a less mature audience and attract kids down to toddler ages. Nothing there is particularly impressive. I would say any US science museum overshadows this one by a long-shot. It was definitely not worth visiting. The one thing I liked there was the temporary Dreamworks storyboard exhibit. Nothing else caught my eye in the slightest. They do have an imax theatre which you can find almost anywhere and are always good. Compared to places like the California Science Center, this place is merely a daycare. A good place for preschoolers to first graders; second graders maybe. Anywhere past then, and they should be mature enough to actually learn at a museum.
Great exhibits for ages 3 and up! Currently have Spider exhibit that is very cool
This place is awesome. It's fun for .the whole family. So many activities and so much learning. We could easily spend our entire trip to Montreal here. All the place it's well taken care of. The staff is super friendly. Amazing.
A very good place for adults and kids.
Now spiders really fascinate me and I have now more creativity. :)
75$ for 2 adults 2 kids, 25$ parking, 10$ x 4 for a hotdog trio, 15$ for a popcorn trio (2 drinks) and 2 other drinks at 3.75$ each... Total expenses 162.50$ before taxes. Lesson learned: bring yourself a lunch and come by metro, because otherwise you're in for a vastly overpriced experience, with no animation and 10% to 20% of the stations not functioning.
A great place to bring your children
Great place to take the kids. Also has an Imax theater.
Went to the spider exhibit. Live spiders just sit there, as expected. No very engaging, kids were bored.
A great place to bring the kids. Always popular is the giant bubble machine and the electronic music machine.
Great place to bring kids to have fun while learning sciences. Even though there is expositions for smaller kids, most expositions target kids 7 yr old and up. We had a lot of fun with our 3 & 5 yr old kids and they really wanted to participate in most of the activities. Science 26 is really entertaining. Kids loved to play with the bubble that wrap around them and were mystified by the magic dish that transmit sound through the room.
Very good place for kids and also for alla families
3D IMAX movie, permanent science demo fair, many temporary exhibitions. Cafés in the lounge. A good place to spend time with the kids.
Good gravy this place is cool and massive! So much fun for all ages! Worth the price and spending several hours at all the amazing exhibits. Location is perfect! Just don't bring your car as parking is very expensive. The whole port is just the place to be! Tons of space to explore and to bring your stroller so do not worry.
A must visit for tourists with kids. And a definite value for money membership for families with young kids living in Montreal. Your yearly pass is good for many other museums within Canada, but also in the US and other places around the world. When you visit a science related museum don't hesitate to ask, you might be happily surprised.
Exhibits were great for all ages. We took a 2 year old and there was plenty for him to do throughout the museum.
It was kinda small but it was still pretty nice
The exhibits were great as they were informative and interactive. Staff were smiling and bilingual. If not for the winter weather there would have been great places outside to enjoy eating outdoors.
Definitely one of the best museums in Montreal. The best and probably the only one for science. Very educative and informative. Really a learning experience.
Fun and great place for kids. But a little pricey. Paid $50 for only 2 adults and 1 kid. Since it's mostly a place for kids and adults just have to come to watch their kid, its be nice to get a break on the adult admissions ????
I’ve never been so interested in science as I have been with this place. Full of games that really get you wondering how and why. I went many times with friends and with my class it never gets boring. They have been constantly improving since the last time I’ve been there. Like if you love science.
This museum is really for kids entertainment, nothing for an older audience unfortunately. It's also in dire need of an update. The scientific demos are quite old and some are non functional.
Not too intresting for adults but for children is super!
Exhibits interesting but it depends..this week saw an Amer-Indian Ingenuity exhibit. 1/3 of the buttons of interactive exhibit did not work. There was little historical context or explanation to kids, as to why the ameri- Indian maintain their practices. The imax movie TiNy GiAnTs was great though.
Always lots of new things to discover! This is a must to visit with kids annually. Also great to host birthday parties!
Great place for kids older than 6 yrs
The exhibits were nice but it closes quite early and is rather expensive
I was really looking forward to the Game On exhibit and had a blast. It was grand prix weekend so it was empty and we were able to play all the games with no wait. Some controllers were not fully functional but otherwise every game worked well. We even got to try the Oculus. Our ticket also came with access to the main science exhibit and although it is aimed at children to teach them science we really enjoyed it especially since it was so quiet that we could interact with all the exhibits. The CSI exhibit was also a lot of fun, I would have liked a little more of the science behind the technology but even so the hands on approach was really cool and kids must love it.
Great learning experience. Good exposure for kids.
I highly recommend the Clic! exhibition for families with small children. However, it's quite pricey to pay the admission only to visit this one place in the whole centre. There should be more ticket options for those whose children can't take full advantage of other exhibitions and IMAX movies.
Expensive price for the time you spend there. It’s ok.
Not as good as I thought it would be but it's still a great place to take your kids on the weekend .
This place is really great. My two year old loved it, my wife loved it, and I loved it. It was a lot more hands-on than many of the other Telus Science centres in Canada, and offered a wide variety of mediocre quality, highly entertaining exhibits (exhibits?). We went on a weekend, it was not very busy (which is truly awesome), and spent a good 2.5 hours theres - and could've stayed longer if we'd have brought lunch. They loose a star because the coffee concession downstairs was way overpriced, and the admission was $15.00 per person, and I'm broke.
Great experience for family with kids. Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent exposition (dreamwork movies)
Great for kids. Many activities for all ages amd they keep putting new stuff every year , the IMAX cinema is HUGE really amazing... however choose your time wisely when you go because it can get overcrowded!
It's never super busy but the exhibits are fun and educational. I wish parking wasn't so bloody expensive
Overpriced. All you want is a educational place to take your child in Winter. But these guys charge $25 just for parking :(
Always has cool exhibits but it's really overpriced and exhibits are never as big or informative as they are advertised to be.
Interesting place. Must watch for kids for min 3 hours
Great for kids of all ages! Lots of fun and lots of interesting stuff.
The kids absolutely loved it! Great, hands-on fun! Go early to enjoy everything!
Many activities for kids. Allot of interactions. Cool place to spend half a day
Love their interactive exhibits. The IMAX movies are also worth seeing as they really take advantage of 3D
It is closed during covid...but normally this is a great place to take your kids. interactive Science museum, expositions, IMAX theater, restaurants...and plenty of sight seeing and activities around the old port to keep the family busy for a full day.
Such a great place to go for all ages! Always something to do wether it be the exhibits or the IMAX experiences! Definitely something to check out if you're in the Old Port!
Lots of fun for the whole family. Water dam electricity generator game is too much fun for dad.
This place had average exhibits. But it was too small for the amount they charge. Plus no Student discount...
Nice view to see the Old Port by night
A wonderful afternoon for the entire family. Fun, interactive displays that are educational and interesting. Don't miss the IMAX theater to top off your visit. Highly recommended!
Great place for kids!! A lot of hands on projects!!
Excellent time for kids around 3 to 7 years old. Many activities for creativity development
it's the place to bring your kids in the summer
It's somewhat expensive but nice educational activities for kids
Amazing place for the price. Kids loved it.
Great activity for the young and young at heart, so much so see with a hands on approach.kids have so much fun that they don't even realize they're learning.
Cool place. Especially if you're going with kids. They'll live it. Temporary expositions can be a bit small, so be sure to check the upper floor with the "science stuff" that's where you'll spend most of your time there.
Fantastic place to visit with kids. Exhibits are well designed.
This place is disappointing, interactive exhibits usually work badly or not at all. Half the exhibition was closed. Exhibits are weakly linked to actual science and feel random and inconsistent. Place feels aged, dull, and unloved. Won't go again.
Super cool, but their food court is kinda disappointing.
Time flies fast here for kids. Very interesting!
The most interactive and fun science museum for the whole family. Loads of hands on fun, especially enjoyed the maker area. Didn't try the IMAX, but there was enough to do without that.
We had a tonne of fun here, the kids ran a muck and we had to drag them out of there kicking and screaming. On a hot day it was a nice break from the heat. The spider exhibition was great and a little creepy if spiders make you tingle.
Engage young minds even yours with the world around us and the many ways we can explore and discover it.
If you have young / tween aged kids, great, totally worth it. If you're a couple like us in you're 20s looking for a museum to go to, look elsewhere. $20 and most of the exhibits are child focused, interactive displays.
Some grade 3 students said it was their best field trip!
Located in the Old Montreal, place hosts events ans exhibitions of great interest. Kid friendly place. There's a non-alcoholic bar at the entrance.
Great place to go with kids and family. Nice exhibitions during all year and the resident one is great for children.
Fun informative place for family to explore.
Very good place with lots of information about science not only for kids. Some workshops you can do with your kids and the IMAX center is there too. The only minus is the parking: it's expensive, but at least you find a place for your car. Because old port is a very difficult place to find some parking space.
Nice interactive displays that are appealing to kids while being informative for all ages
Great place to spend the day with family or friends. Expos and shows are rotated often, new content every season. Lots to do for all ages.
I was excited to go because we love science centres. This place seems like it was built in the late 70s and that very little has been done to update it (aside from the addition some touch screens). It's okay at best.
Children may love this place. Although, it is a fantastic place even for adult science lovers.
Went for a work party. Fantastic views and nice atmosphere
Great place to visit, maybe they could schedule more English movies during the day
Great place for kids and adults
Nice place to teach your children. A little simplistic for adults but very well done
The place is great and the food courts has great cuisine. Amazing
My daughter loved every minute. Parking across the way is $25. It has a fair amount to do but only the staff in the "Fabrik" section was friendly so good luck if you have any questions. I get it, it's a museum and most of it is self-explained, but it's always nice to have someone come by when there's few people in the museum.
Great if you have kids, but not an adult experience. I presume the majoirty of their business comes from school trips.
Good for kids at primary School. Boring for adults. It doesn't worth it.
We love visiting the science center it’s like a huge playground where kids can have fin and learn
Lot of fun with the kids (4 to 7)
Amazing place. A must visit ????????
Too interactive. Not good for adults, alright for kids
Nice place for kids
Ping pong tables, decorated swings and bikes you ride to charge your phone! This place is awesome!
The e hibits were ALL geared to children, despite the ti ket dude telling me there were adult exhibits. The museum was swarmed with kids, most running amok. I wished I could have gotten refunded.
Houses some excellent hands-on science activities for kids. My 7-year-old spent hours in the fabrication room and was reluctant to leave. Very engaging.
Always amazing & interesting expositions here, right in the heart of the action!
Affordable. Do not like they play french movies all the time and maybe two shows of english
Great indoor family activities, especially for kids who are around 10 Years old...
Nice
Worst experience. I don’t know how a tickets seller with impatience to children was hired here. As if you were begging them for a ticket. Everything inside was not important at all.
Great place to bring the kids. Lots of interactive learning exhibits.
Amazing museum! We visited the museum with 2yo daughter and she vas very happy, because there are a lot of activities for kids.
We really enjoyed the IMAX theatre and the permanent expos with our 4 year old. There were many interactive installations she could play with. The museum is a bit small compared to other science museums in other cities, but just fine for a short outing.
Great place to take children to learn about science!
Some great exhibits. But much of it is geared for kids so keep that in mind.
Fun place for all the family. Great for rainy days!
The spider exhibit was really cool but all the others were for kids which I wish was more apparent with advertising.
Really nice to spend time with your kids and this place especially helps to increase ur kid's mind and their senses...????????
You HAVE to take your kids (and adults) there! Amazing expos!
The dream works exhibit is amazing
Great location. Cool spot. Next to old port
good science museum with varied exhibits, liked it.
Absolutely loved it here. We viewed the DreamWorks exhibit, went to the Clic clic Play area, tried building different contraption in the "fabrik" and so much more. Best to go by public transportation there is a.lot of traffic cause it's in the old Port of Montreal. If you need to bring/go by car parking is pricy 25$.
I brought my kid sister here from Maine. We had a great time. It was also nice to see a science museum embrace family and children, not abortion and dead bodies. +100xp Montreal.
very interesting! Good for kids
Loved the exhibits, kids had a wonderful time!!
I really loved this place. The some of the exhibits they had at that time were on human body, space, and my favorite was on the First Nations. All the exhibits were interactive and good for people of all ages.
I have been to many science museums but this one stands out. The amount of interaction it allows children (of all ages-we were a group ranging from 65 years old to 10 months and all found things to enjoy) is impressive. We felt it was well worth a visit and even said we wished we had something similar near us at home. Nothing was broken or in disrepair on our visit and the staff was very friendly. Even the food was good! Thank you for a great place to have our family spend a wonderful day playing together!
Awesome
Perfect museum for kids adults who has heart of kids. Lots of laughs and lots of fun.
Really fun place. The permanent exhibitions are great fun (who doesn't love having a large soap bubble forming around you!), and the other exhibitions change yearly or so. I went when they had the Star Wars exhibition, it was pretty awesome. Great place for family, lots of things to do (especially since you are already in the Old Port), highly recommended!
Lots of fun for all ages! Give your self at least a few hours to really enjoy all the exhibits.
Great way to spend a rainy day. The exhibition on the human body was amazing. I also really like their gift shop. Full of scientific books, toys and educational paraphernalia. I had to buy some.
Great place to bring your kids. There's so much that they can learn about over there. Most interesting scientific principles are explored in easy to learn hands on exhibits from space to electricity, magnetism to tornado's.
Tad expensive but interesting and fun for anyone of any age. Innovative hands-on exhibits illustrating science principles and educational topics like anatomy, physics, electricity, etc. The science part takes around 60-90 minutes to explore. We went during a DreamWorks animation exhibition, which was just ok unless you're interested in the methods behind the animations.
Kids can play with everything, very interactive, and up to date with touch screens, interesting even for grown ones
If you like science, then you should definitely go there. Especially if you have kids.
Very cool science museum but there were a number of exhibits closed when we visited. They only 4 main exhibits open at once so check what's there before you go. It's an easy walk from the metro station, only a few blocks. Even with a couple exhibits closed, we still could have spent a couple days there. We will have to go back for sure.
Went to see iMax movie. Nice theater. Friendly staff.
My kids loved this place. So spacious and lots of hands-on exhibits
Too many people too many kids. Some exhibitions were old and broken too. Did not go on weekend it was a weekday yet it was not much to do and see with the crowd. The IMAX was the only thing worth paying for. This pales in comparison to Vancouver's science center. I'm not from Vancouver but certainly out of all the various science centre I have visited provincially there wasnt a whole lot of interactive activities
A great place to learn and have fun - for the whole family
Fantastic, some areas where close.
The Montreal science museum is an amazing attraction for Montreal. They shoe imax movies about nature in both English and French. They have lots of cool exhibits, and a stem lab where you can build things. They have a cafe where you can buy food, and it is located on a nice, touristy part of old Montreal. Parking can be difficult, but I highly recommend it.
Wonderful place to bring your kids to. Very innovative. You could bring your lunch as well. There's also places where you could eat over there and good decorations. It's actually a good place to take nice pictures as well.
If you've been to other science centers around the world, you may be underwhelmed. If you have never been to one and/or need a place to take your child on a rainy day, it's a fine option. Kids two and under are free, but the adult ticket is pricey. It cost me over $30 to go after taxes and that's for the standard (no Imax included) ticket. The first level has a cafe with mediocre food, a few classrooms, restrooms, the Imax, and a play area for smaller kids called Click. Inside Click is a small house to climb on, puppet areas, blocks, etc. My toddler got bored of it within minutes. The upstairs has all the main exhibits and a play area for older kids. Surprisingly, this area my toddler LOVED! There's a lot to see and touch. Each exhibit is very interactive. If you need a place to go with kids on a rainy day and are okay with the price, it's decent. Just don't stay for more than two hours.
Great exhibit with lots of interesting information and helpful staff
If you can respect the kid inside of you as an adult, you'll have a great time here. Kinda pricey.
Always a great place to visit with tons of fun activities for the kiddos. Plan for at least half a day (4 hours) if you want a good return on investment!
Awesome, awesome... So many exhibits to keep all ages busy and entertained. If you are are local (Montrealer) it's cheaper at the door.
Went to see the spider exhibition and I loved it The second floor is filled of cool little experiences for adult and kids
The Montreal Science Centre was amazing. We had a great time there, and the kids loved it too. Beautiful place. The downtown of Montreal was also an awsome place too. The architecture was stunning, and we met people from many parts of the world there, who were touring Montreal too. Flew from Victoria BC to Toronto, drove from Toronto to Montreal, great experience over all. If you haven't seen Montreal, you haven't seen the heritage of Canada. Montreal Science Center is a must visit.
To represent a major city like Montreal this museum does not do justice. Rotating exhibits like Animal World and Game On were fun and interactive but not worth $25/ticket. I just felt like there was not enough to see here. Pros: fun gift shop, children's section (2nd floor), cafe, rotating exhibition, Imax, lots of free space for groups, and clean restroom
Great for kids, very interactive. Still very enjoyable for adults.
Cool place but 25$ for a parking space? Really? Okay....
Very çool for kids and science lovers. Huge parking but pricy
There are lots of hands on activities for the children.
The IMAX screen is HUGE! Great show!
No cheap at all but a nice place.
Excelent exposition DreamWorks!
Great place for kids and adults. They have ever changing exhibitions so you can come back time after time and not get bored. Entry and parking and food are on the more expensive side
This is a great place for young kids up to 12 years old. Prepare to spend the entire afternoon.
I'm glad I wasn't deterred by some underwhelming reviews. Our two and four year old spent three hours here and didn't want to leave! They have some really great permanent exhibits and that alone was enough for us for our first visit!
Really good and thought out exhibits, engaged children really well.
Nice place to go with the kids, they'll have lots of fun.
It's oriented towards kids. Was disappointed as an adult science enthusiast...
It is good for kids under 7 but not a place for adult.
Been coming here for years with school and personally. I've done tones of exibitions and seen tones of imax's here and it is always great.
They sold me a "combo" for exposition and Imax movie, but when I got there with my kid, the expositions were closed. Disappointing. The guy at the counter told me "you just had to look at the opening hours before buying the ticket". Yeah well, Internet era, why wasn't there a disclaimer like "at the time your movie begins, expositions are closed". Paid way too much for just a movie and no exposition...
Fantastic activities for the kids. Spent the day and could've gone back for more. Used our passes from the Saskatchewan Science Centre without any issue.
The very first staff member we encountered was very polite, then it was all down hill. An older lady working in the imax theatre very rudely told my party that we were going the wrong way. Using one word and ridiculous hand gestures. The reality is a lot of people coming here will be tourists, and the focus needs to be one making them feel welcome. Then we get to parking. We originally owed eight dollars for parking because we were there less than one hour after the ridiculous service. Then after the first machine we went to had an out of order sign on it, it became a race against time to find another, this machine didn't work, so we went straight to the teller, which it ALSO DID NOT WORK! Then we asked for assistance, and again received very rude service, and because of THEIR MISTAKES, our charge doubled to 16 dollars for parking when we were only in the building for less than an hour. This place is a joke, and I will be telling my Ontario friends to stick to the Toronto science center which runs much better for the people paying for the facilities.
Great hands-on science center for all ages, with a wide selection of 3D IMAX movies. The Dreamworks animation exhibit was there when I visited and it was quite beautiful.
I didn't know this part of science exhibitions.. wonderful place for both kids and adults to learn alot, The interactive displays are pretty cool, interior designs are awesome and the space machine simulation was awesome and am 25+. They are bilingual so even if you speak english ONLY you will have a great time.
The Sciences center is great for kids 4 years old and up if you want to do the exhibits. Otherwise, downstairs there is a very nice place for toddlers to play with open toys to develop the imagination. It’s a little pricy if you only use the play area but on a rainy day it’s worth it.
Friendly and helpful staff make this one of the most enjoyable spots to visit in the Old Port.
Great venue for events and as a science museum
I was kind of disappointed by the expositions over there (I went for the Dreamworks expositions but I also went to see the permanent ones on the second floor). But the IMAX film blew my mind. Being a nature documentaries nerd, watching a BBC documentary on wide screen, in 3d and with immersive soundtracks made me cry of joy. Everyone should experience this at least once.
One of the best science centers I've visited. The staff was amazing and very encouraging. Definitely recommend!
Loved this place, so much for kids n even adults...If u love science, don't miss it
excellent place for kids and adults, you play and learn, I hope they open more rooms soon
We loooove going here with the kids
place is very interesting, but parking is a problem
Unfortunately it is closed now as of Aug 30 2016 because of strike....
Very nice place for child and also for adults
Wish that things actually worked. Many items are not functioning properly.
Wonderful. A little pricey but the maker space was just amazing
Great science centre for the kids and interesting IMAX show
Many interesting exhibits on different scientific subjects. There is also an IMAX theater inside the center.
Many exhibits are outdated. Kids will have fun, but adults will have fun most likely if it's their first time. They need to update the exhibits.
Super nice place to discover the best of the world's best assets, such as nature's miracles, animals and wonders, all in 3D ????
Checked out the place on my own. Was an interesting centre, mostly meant for kinds but it was cool checking it out
A place to discover cinematic voyages and great fun for families and kids in the old port of montreal with lots of parking and close to many other divers activities such as great selection of restaurants and in front of old montreal’s newest entertainment spot oratek360 virtual reality gaming studio.
it was super fun! even though it was meant for kids there are lots to do if youre on a date
The exhibits are fine but I typically go there for the IMAX documentaries. It is clearly tailored for younger kids and it is perfect for them, but the issue is with kids themselves - every time I went there kids would never bother reading or taking time to learn and/or understand - instead they'd basically twist, turn, push and pull everything (and more often than not cut in front of you while you're trying to interact with the items) It's tailored for kids but kids aren't tailored for it.
Amazing place in Montreal! Definitely worth a visit!
You would expect the city's science centre to be easily accessible to most people. But it's location means crazy traffic to get there almost any day of the week and outrageous parking fees once arrived. $25 for parking regardless of length of stay is pure rip-off. Shame...
Nice place. Need atleast 3-4 hours to explore with kids.
Great to learn a lot. Tons of kids though and we went late in the day. I recommend going earlier as you don't miss everything
IMAX was pretty cool and not badly priced for the just under an hour film
Some cool exhibits but expensive for what it is and $25 to park in addition. Kids had fun though.
Great place for children. Lots of fun exhibits
Very intuitive fun family outing!
Love this place so much. Can't wait for my next visit.
Fun for kids. On a rainy day. Only problem, it is in montreal and it is in the old port = traffic, bad road condition, no parking. (well paid parking at 25$)
While i am writing this review my unforgettable memories popping up out of my brain on last summer, strong sunshine and laying on the green grass near this center . This center includes cinema . Coming on MAY might enter freely , but you should check details. Last on MAY ,many centres were able to enter just free. Making plans which places you should go is first step to get saving...........
great place to learn new things and curiosities
Very nice place, You can have fun and learn something
Love this place since I was a kid. The IMAX experience is awesome and they always show high quality documentaries. The 3D movies are super immersive, it’s a place that you will enjoy no matter your age.
It's the best spot in Montreal if you want to spend a day somewhere inside with your kids.
Amazing experience for the adults and kids. A lot to learn there.
This museum was really impressive and fun. I've been to a lot of science museums with my son, and this one was original and sincerely Interesting. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the day we were there we spent about 20 minutes in the museum at a nice normal pace having a blast, then we were completely overcome by a couple of hundred kids in a few groups. They were rude, mostly unsupervised, and totally inconsiderate of anyone around them, even jumping on exhibits. No museum staff intervened. My son was pushed over and trampled several times. We were turned we away from several sections of the museum because the groups were given priority and other visitors were not allowed in. We finally gave up and left. I understand that groups are good for business, but I'd prefer the staff had just told us that the entire museum was rented out for the day and that we had to come back another time.
It a good way to spend a rainy day. The building and exhibits are a little old and tired in a few places but over all my family enjoyed the day.
Nice place for kids to discover and learn more about different topics
Spent the day here with my 4 year old granddaughter she had the time of her life
Nice place for kids have fun!
The place is geared towards children, but it is also fun for those who are young at heart.
Amazing place and good Imax clip
Went to Body Worlds i think it was called with all the humans in the flesh, literally. Was totally gross and had such a good time.
amazing place for hands on activities and a fun way to learn more about science for kids pre covid
more like a nature museum
Saw the Dreamworks exhibit was really neat. Love the permanent exhibits loads of fun for kids and adults!
This place is for children, not adults. Imax movies are BBC recycled material.
It is a good and fun place. What prevents me from giving more stars is the fact that it is not as maintained as it should. Some activities simply can't be used because are broken.
Interesting exhibits in both French and English. The IMAX film Oceans is also well worth it.
We go to the science centre almost every week with my toddler. It's a wonderful place, and well worth a membership!
This was our first time at the Montreal Science Centre. We found the entry fees to be very expensive, and once we had paid, we found out that the feature exhibit was not open. We were disappointed that for the price we paid, we would not have a full experience. We found many of the exhibits to be broken...touch screens not responding, the pregnancy ultrasound machine simulator did not work at all! Most of it was good, but we were just so frustrated that it was so expensive. So many families could never afford to visit, and those that do save up their money to go, do not get to have a complete experience. A bit of maintenance is needed and a look at how the entry fees can be reduced would be appreciated. When we first arrived, we asked for a map of the exhibits, the staff pointed us in the direction of a pamphlet, but there was no map in the pamphlet, just information about the exhibits. A janitor was more helpful than the ticket booth staff, as he was able to show us where to enter and which direction to go.
Fun for all ages. There is an lMAX experience featuring documentaries about wild life and more. Also, heaps of games for kids. Quite well priced and lots to do in the surrounding area.
A great place to bring the family and establish a love for science. This place is the foundation of learning and really awesome. My favorite exhibit was the CSI one which you could solve several murders. So the most amazing experience which could be held in Old Port.
The building really spacious and nice, they also have 1 or 2 cafetarias where u can sit and eat your lunch. The department also really good and interesting to be visited
Not as great for little kids as you would hope. No step stools for kids (3 or 4) to see the displays and a lot of places for a kid to get hurt. The whole place looks like it was put together by someone who vaguely remembered their high school science classes and had a budget to raid the ikea discount sales.
It was really fun for kids and interesting enough for adults. And that was when half of the centre was closed for renos.
Very interactive and great price for a membership pass.
This is the coolest house of science in the old port. The folks working here genuinely love science. The special exhibitions are always great. I went to the spider exhibit with a special someone and it was absolutely fabulous. The spiders were both cool and terrifying. The people working with them really loved talking about them. Check it out!
The Dreamworks exposition is really cool and the science exposition is full of little games (Some were broken, but the ones that worked were fun) Both for kids and grown ups :)
The featured exhibit was BORING, a waste of money really.... The rest EXCELLENT... I would take my kids there again!!!!
It seems that at the Montreal Science Centre, math is hard. You can buy a "family" package for their main exhibition for $30, which includes tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids. But if you only have one child, you're not worthy of family status and you must buy 2 adult tickets at $15 each, plus a separate child ticket for $5 (total is $35). So for one less child, you pay more for not being family enough. Does not compute! The same lack of thought applies to their combo packages, which includes access to the main exhibition and an IMAX movie. Sigh. Also, don't expect to find any information on the exhibits and IMAX films when you get there. The best place to learn about what is going on is by visiting their website. A simple pamphlet on-site would be super helpful for walk-in visitors. The scientific process obviously isn't being used at this place.
Berry Kool place for kids and grown-ups. Science part is amazing, IMAX 3D films are awesome.
High quality, clean science center in the heart of old Montreal. Ignore the hours posted on google. Generally, they open at 10. Arrive at 8:30 if you want great parking in the nearby garage. The toddler area is lovely. Foam blocks, ball roller coasters, engineering, a mini house, lights and movement sensing room make it a great stop for kids up to about 6. The only elevator is right by the ticket office, so prepare for a bit of a walk if you have a stroller and this is your first stop. Upstairs there are three areas included in general admission. The farthest back includes too many activities to count: bubble tunnel, optical illusions, senses, huge kaleidoscope, chairs of nails, momentum activities and more. There's a lot of activity in one place. The middle section on the human body was very well done and engaging. Go ahead, pull out a rope representing someone's intestines! We would have stayed longer at this exhibit if the makers studio hadn't been so great. Opening later at noon, they have all kinds of stations to practice making things. Boats, fans, wind cars, gardening, electricity. It was the best facilitated, supplied and organized hands-on exhibit I've ever seen. Older and younger kids will enjoy it. We didn't see any of the IMAX or CSI exhibit but we were very satisfied. The gift shop was great and the cafe up front was well stocked with prepared foods and simple drinks.
My kids (2y & 6y) really enjoyed this place. Lots of (science) things to have fun, easy to acces.
My family had fun in the little kids room. When our kids are older they will appreciate the rest of the exhibits and activities.
It’s a nice place for kids.
Well done exhibits and very interactive. Suitable for kids and fun-loving adults. Parking was a bit of a cluster-bomb. Just confusing where we were supposed to go. We were there on a Friday and disappointed to find out that they closed at 4 which meant we only had about 90 minutes to see everything. Our own fault for not double checking the hours but just seems oddly early to us.
very interactive for family and children. not really for adults. the DreamWorks exhibit was amazing
It's ok. There could be better but it's in a beautiful setting. The Imax theater is there but so far the movies I saw where really not worth it.
Had an amazing day, I just wish there were more places to get food.
Great for kids!! Lots of hands on exhibits demonstrating scientific principles. Saw the Animal Bodies exhibit while it was there. Well done
Great place to rent reception hall will river view. Parts of the TV show Quantico are filmed in the rear hall.
Really cool place for all ages. Great family moments.
Excellent place to spend the day with kids if visiting Montreal. Four exhibitions were running. Imax documentaries were in French so not an option for non-speakers.
Great museum to bring kids to. Even more on a rainy day
I should have done more research, as this museum is pretty much exclusively for children. There was a cool Dreamworks exhibit that I enjoyed, but pretty much everything else was hands-on stuff for kids. I can channel my inner child as much as the next person and appreciate that sort of thing, but a lot of the items were broken. Also, there were school or camp groups of little ones running about and smashing things, so the vibe was very chaotic. I did not pay extra for an IMAX film, but I feel if I had, the trip would have been more worthwhile.
Outstanding! Many dozens of interactive installations and displays! Although designed for a young/young-adult/student audience, I (a grandfather, who took his 11-year old grandson on this visit), was truly fascinated and entertained! As well, the centre offers unique, documentary style films at reasonable rates. A top-notch destination where you can "tailor" your visit to provide entertainment for from 2 hours to an entire day! DO NOT MISS!
This was our first visit to the Montreal Science centre based on very positive reviews online. The location is great by the water, lots of food trucks and people watching. The staff were friendly and we had a good enough time, but the centre is relatively small compared to the Ontario science centre, and it had a lot of similar exhibits. I would say there is enough to do for about 2hrs here, excluding IMAX films.
Lots of hands-on interactive exhibits. Great for kids, families, and for folks who like a more tactile experience at a museum.
It's a great place for grown ups and kids alike.
We had a blast. My 11 year old twin sons loved it. We spent about 4 hours there. Lots of cool puzzles and exhibits. Would strongly recommend for family with kids. Good places to walk to nearby for lunch
It's ok. Decent time to go is in the winter, to kill some time with the kids who will get bored quickly.
It's great place for family visit and activities.
I came to see a movie in IMAX and I had a great time! We saw superpower dogs and it was extremely nice and emotional. The popcorn was excellent!
Beautiful views from every angle. On one side of the street was modern buildings but directly across the street are quaint little rustic restaurants and shops
Amazing place and activities, IMAX is out of this world!
Very fun place to go with the kids to play and learn about science & technology, we love it
Geared towards children, but there are plenty of interesting exhibits adults can enjoy as well. A lot of interactive exhibits where children can see science in action. Definitely worth a visit if you have an afternoon to kill with your kids.
Great place for kids and adults in need of discoveries...
Really fun, but targeted more towards kids
Good place to visit with older children over 8 years old. But there is a play room for younger ones too.
If you have kids this will probably be a lot of fun for a day. Otherwise you could probably find better things to do for the price.
One of the best interactive museum in Montreal! Great for kids AND grown ups. Lots of scientific challenges. Rooms for rent for events and birthdays. Group dining room. The cafe could offer better food and should be waste free.
The place is just amazing. Almost all activities are bilingual, so don't worry if you are not strong in French. Many things to explore, so plan ahead. For our family, 3 hours were not enough. I'd go there again.
So much things to learn and do there
Nice location. Informative. Great for families. Plenty to do. Moderately priced. The parking lot payment does not accept debit there are atms you must use for a fee.
Well, not much happening there. More aimed towards pre-teens. There's a CSI exhibit going on right now. Not designed to be hard as it and activities there are for young ones. IMAX there as well.
It was a very fun experience as always, the DreamWorks exposition was especially fun.
It was a great surprise for me, really interesting and very interactive. It is for both adults and kids. I had a great time there.
Went to see Pandas 3D at the IMAX... great experience
Lots of great interactive exhibits, all relatively new, so they still (mostly) work. We visited with our 9 and 11 year old children. We spent most of our visit (3 hours) in the biology room, only to discover 15 minutes before closing that there was another, even bigger room beyond. This other room was themed more around physics and motion. You could definitely spend the whole day here and remain engaged.
Nice place to cool off and have a beverage
Boring, expensive parking and expensive admission. Just screens and handles on walls... kids don’t learn much. Only nice thing is the Clic playroom but for $85 (2 adults, 1 child and 2 toddlers) I would not recommend this place for the average family.
Nice place to spend time with kids, I've been there few times already. However total price is too high for what's offered plus there are 'usual' extras: parking, coatroom (sick...). Mobile website says there is dinosaurs exposition (which we wanted to see), which is not true. Staff people said it's a mistake and they asked website admin to change it many times already. I was hesitating to give 3 stars because of this, but it wasn't that bad at the end.
Great place for a field trip with your Elementary School. Lots of interactive activities and workshops.
Amazing location for an event. Heart of the city. Super clean super fabulous. You cannot go wrong choosing the Science Center for a day out with family either!
Great place to bring your children for a couple of hours in Old Montréal. My Grandson really enjoyed the time we spend at this place. He loved so much that he wanted to return again the next day.
So many things to do! Had so much fun trying to recreate someone on the computer
Nice stop off during the snow shower. My children enjoyed the science center and learned a lot about the local culture!
Could use some more attractions for older visitors, it seems like it's only good for toddler's, however as a tourist it seems like a place where adults could have some sort of fun too. Don't be mistaken
Fun and informative! Lots of hands-on activities for kids of all ages! My kids loved it here!
We love this museum so much that we ended up taking the VIP card. So many interesting and interactive things to do! Our 2 and 5 years old love it!
Imax 3D movie was very good. The Science center however still has a bunch of exhibits that don't work and some so convoluted, nobody can figure out how to operate them.
Not only a great place for kids and adults to learn but also an event rental space overlooking the water and old port. Great for private parties and if you're lucky enough to book a water view hall on a fireworks night, you get a good view and an added bonus to your event at no extra cost.
Kids had a great time here. There was lots to keep them busy and a wonderful learning experience. The IMAX movies were pretty interesting too. Will return again!
Really cool place to go. Especially on those rainy days. A lot of cool activities for kids.
My family and I enjoyed the exhibits. They were fun and engaging. We were having a wonderful time until a few large groups of summer camp kids came in. The kids were all over and quite rude. Climbing on things and pounding on exhibits. We would've stayed a lot longer if it hadn't been for those other groups. I wish they had mentioned they would have groups there when we paid. I will ask next time.
Good place to hang around with the kids. Interactive science experiment activities in store for the kids and they liked it.
We went to all the exhibits during spring break. The indigenous science exhibit was fantastic. My 10 year old loved it. It looks a bit boring at the entry but they had bow and arrow practice, spearfishing practice, build an igloo, and lots of other things. I think I could have spent 4 hours just in that exhibit with my 10 year old. We also hadn't seen humans and my daughter liked it. It's a great place to spend a day for children 5+
Great place for young kids. Good balance of fun, smart and ludic activities. Some fields of science and engineering were well presented (medecine, biology). Some others were missing although they could present fantastic opportunities to amaze kids and their parents (chimestry, mathematics..).
A lot of fun and intriguing, even for adults. Provokes children creativity
I guess we are spoiled by the wonderful Science centre in our hometown (Vancouver), but we found this centre to be a bit underwhelming. It was good, and our 2-year-old had a blast at the playground, and I feel like the new development and construction at the centre give it real potential. All in all ... Ok.
Lots of stuff to see for different age groups, one day is enough, parking $25, food across the parking lot, IMAX cinema decent not incredible.
Awesome place. I went back to my childhood and I think I played more than my children. I would recommend against the cafe as they were not helpful after they gave a bad product.
An overall great museum, but be careful with an ASTC pass, one day they'll take it, the next they'll give you a hard time.
Nice space for events, exhibits are not that great or interesting.
Had so much fun here, even as an adult! Love the interactive displays. Felt like a kid again playing (and learning!) in all the exhibits.
Some good exhibits but overpriced and overcrowded
This place is great to bring your kids (and funny for adults alo)
Nice exhibition on spiders.. Children interactive and lovely workshops
Geared towards children but still entertaining for all.
For tourist it’s a nice place almost a must to go . However for people that are from montreal maybe they can relate to my review , the centre of science need updates in their movie and their visite guider . One time the staff told me that they didn’t change their activity over 10 years .. I was able to confirm that since I went when I was 11 years old ans it was the same exact activity .. I don’t know if it’s lack of budget but they need to update it . Beside that GREAT for kids and tourist
Lethally boring. To be fair, my daughter was too afraid to see the spider exhibition.
Kids love here so much. A good place to spend all day.
Very interesting experience. Did not disappoint.
Came here after walking through the area and noticing that Montreal had it's own science centre. From the outside you'd think it'd be big and would have a lot of installations, but the actual (permanent) exhibit only took up the top floor of the building and that was it. Although I was a little disappointed in the size of the exhibit, I did still have fun looking at and interacting with the installations. I would say that this place is perfect for families with young children, though I wish I had known this before coming here.
Good for children but if you are an adult I think you will be bored.
Large, interactive, interesting, worth to visit with children. The zone with tasks and materials to construct different things is amazing, children can spend there a lot of time.
Easily spent 4 hours here with 8, 5, and 2 year old. We didn't even see a movie. We all had a great time!
Unfortunately close this days
Enjoyed the spiders exhibit, but thought admission was a bit high for this museum. Perhaps if we had young children with us it would have made a difference. We got through the whole museum rather quickly.
Beautiful exterior. We didn't have time to go in, but it has a good reputation.
A good place to bring kids and experience the interactive expositions. Simple and accessible language, makes it worth the visit
There's always something fun and interesting to learn at the science fair, no matter your age.
Pretty big place
Loved this place! (So did the kids! lol) I especially liked the life sized Toothless hanging from the ceiling at the doors! Fun and educational journey for the whole family. Would definitely recommend.
its the best place to bring your kids
Wonderful place for the family or simply to visit with friends. Exhibitions are always interesting and the IMAX films incredible! Worth the visit!
What a massive waste of time and money. We paid $50 to get in, more for parking, and 3/4 of the museum is all closed. Charging full price admission and parking when most of the place is blocked off should be criminal.
Great location right on the river. Built in 2002 but reflects up to date styling. Food court area could be kept cleaner. Large out side eating area would be nice if some of the seating wasn't in direct sun. Parking like most popular attractions is limited. Pack a snack or food, what is available, is very over priced and small amounts.
Fun day with the kids here! Went to watch an IMAX and walked through the exhibition afterward. My 2yo was first afraid of the dark in the theater then fell asleep... But in general, we all loved our day!
I was just wasting some time and went in. A few interesting things to see, but more for kids.
This place is meant for children 12 or under. The CSI exhibit is also meant for very young children regardless of what they tell you.
Can do a full visit in about 1-2 hours. Don't plan on spending your day here
This place is exceptional for School aged children but still offers many interesting things for all ages. I wasn't having the best day and we did not have enough time to fully explore but it is a very creatively set up place with lots to see and do in English and/or French. It is not perfect and it is not cheap but you can have a great day at the Montreal Science Centre. I would give it 4.7 stars out of 5.
People still go to this place ,just make your mtl access card for discounts
The kids loved it, spent almost 6 hours there, and still did not want to leave
dreamworks exhibit was lots of fun museum itself had a variety of interactive activities spent 3 hrs on site parking was $25 for the whole day
The kids had a great time. Very interactive!
For a science center, this place is phenomenal in terms of all the stuff that works. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING was broken when I went. For terms of space though, it wastes a ton of it. All the exhibits are jam-packed full of fun stuff (especially, "Game On") and used space very wisely, but there are only 3 exhibits in the whole place. There's some stuff in the hall, but those, "exhibits" were more like interactive things (some even not). There was Science 26, where you can learn about density, test your strength, and generate hydro power. Fabrik is one of the best where you can make a wind powered car and many other things with household objects, tape, some tools, and lots of imagination. When we went the traveling exhibit was Game On, which was worth extra price. It was full of vintage and new video games, and my brother and dad got use the Occulus Rift headset. Gets thumbs up from me!
Great for the kids. Can be an all day event. Can get crowded.
Very small. Way overpriced!!. With parking it's $100. Takes less than 2 hours to go through entire place. Don't understand all the hype. Total waste of $$$. Avoid!
A majority of the exhibits were either closed or under construction. I think the only ones available were the permanent exhibits. I didn't know this before I came nor was there any sort of sign stating that there were only 2 things available. There was one exhibit that seemed appropriate for my 18 month old and she was trampled by bigger kids whose parents didn't care. Only one elevator in the building and it's not in a convenient location for the rest of the museum. It's actually much smaller on the inside than it looks. The admission price is very expensive and the food trucks were closed so not an option for lunch on a Saturday which I thought was odd. Would not recommend.
At first I thought it was a little underwhelming compared to Toronto, but once we got inside it was right on par. The kids had a blast. We went through most things fairly quickly and it still took us 5.5 hours. Definately can spend a couple days here. We will be back soon.
Really nice and interactive! Especially recommended for Families and couples!
We loved it! My son did not want to leave.
Amazing place to bring the kids out here . interesting's thing are their to see here.
Great for kids...spent 2 hours there and just went through the permanent exhibits. Don't forget to show your CAA card to get 15% off your admission fee.
Great entertainment for the kids. Family pass is a great value as it includes 2 free parking tickets valued at 25$ each. They also offer cool contests for being a member including the possibility of seeing the paid exhibitions first.
Nice exhibits but crazy expensive parking (25$)
Awesome place for kids and adults tons of activities and possibilities a great way to entertain your kids
Everybody loves science! Especially for kids and here is the best place in Montreal to initiate your kids to science. Play, learn and have fun while adults enjoy other activities inthe old port of Montreal: Zipline, Labyrinth, pedalo, shopping, ... Allez, enjoy your day!
Very nice science center. Specially for the kids and children. Many exhibitions, many activities.
Great place to take the kids for a fun learning experience or even a date to the imax 3D cinema! Unique and one of a kind! The outside parking structure is also great for easy access to everything around in the old port, in the summer there are activities all around the area so this is a good tip to know, also it’s two stories so the vehicles are covered from a rain and sun.
Montreal's only Imax theatre is here. But very limited times for showings in English.
Not many exhibits and when we went 2 were closed
The activities were fun but it could have been a bit more engaging, if they tried.
Absolutely not worth the money. Paid full price to find out once inside that half the exhibits are closed for renovation. I asked for a partial refund as I do not think it fair the part we were most interested in seeing was inaccessible, but was told it was company policy not to issue these. Needless to say I will not be coming back. Overhyped and overpriced.
great fun and educational interactive exhibits
new exhibits, super fun!!
Very interactive with a lot of activities and game to make learning more fun and enjoyable!!! Great for a family outing!
we went with our 9yr old. And the kid was expeceting to see science. Was very upset as there is no science. Its all kids fun and play for a lot of money. May be good for 3-5 yr old kids. Ok then we asked questions and none of the staff could answer simple questions with correct and complete science and logic. Simple ques like: 1) what is refraction of light and how it works in optical fiber? 2) why sky is blue 3) how does x-ray work? Etc. 4) if newton's 3rd law of motion is applied in rockets, what are ex of 1st & 2nd laws? 5) what is a radio telescope? Kids who want to go to a science center are wanting to know some science!! So suggest go there if you have extra cash and time you must spend and this is only option!!!
My daughters loved it. 3-2 years old ???? thank you
WARNING. If you are over the age of 18 do not go here. This is a kids exhibit. Not for adults.
Take your kids there they will have a blast
The Montreal Science Centre (MSC) is located in Old Montreal area. We used our Ontario Science Centre (OSC) membership's reciprocity agreement to get the free general admission. On the second floor, there were some interactive exhibits where you can learn about your body and mind. On the first floor, there is a kids' area for children aged 8 and under. Some of those kids exhibits are identical to OSC's Kidspark area (e.g. house under construction or tracks). Overall, there was a lot of empty space and not much exhibits unlike the OSC. We didn't go into the special CSI exhibit to learn about anatomy or dissection. It would have cost extra. The OSC's vast breath of topics and number of exhibits make the MSC underwhelming. We finished touring through the MSC within one hour. The parking at MSC is $25. If you try to park in the surrounding area, it is very hard to find one.
Great for kids, has cafe n clean washrooms. Add this to the learning that your kids gets. Totally worth it
Had a really great time even as two 20-somethings, plenty to learn and check out. The DreamWorks was especially cool, to learn how everything works going in to the making of the animated movies! Also great views of the waterfront!!! Very cool experience
Most of the computer in the exposition on humans didn’t work, it was hard to keep a kid focused
It was wonderful! Kids had great time????
Tons of things to do for the whole family. Whatever type of kid you have there is an activity for you. Beware of the crowds and expensive parking. You can park a block or two away for much much cheaper.
Much smaller than the one in Toronto. Expected more for the price. Also needed to pay $25 for parking. Unlike Toronto, where it makes sense to get a membership and visit every few weeks, I would say the Montreal Science Centre is only worth visiting once (if that).
My 6 year old and 4 year old sons loved our experience here. They did not want to leave and keep asking to go back.
I give this place 2 stars because its at the waterfront. However, this places doesn't even come close to the science center in Toronto. First of all, it's small, only 3 rooms. The first room was just computer monitors with scientific trivia only. Thats right 30 or so monitors that were touch screen thats all. The second room had better and more interesting machines and cool stuff, but was limited. The final room was again just monitors that you and interact with that were so lame and boring. Cost me $16.10, and it was so boring. I really really enjoyed the science center in Toronto, been there around 5 times and it better gets boring. Don't waste your money here. Finally I got out of this place, and almost committed suicide by jumping into the St. Lawrence river.
Fun with the kids on a cold day. Get in free with your Science museum membership from Ottawa!!
It seems to be geared more towards middle school aged kids. Although it was interesting but not necessarily for high aged kids
Super fun and educational for children and parents alike!
Awesome place for both kids and adults. The kids always have a blast here. So much to see and do. Lots of "hands on" things to discover. Easy to pass a whole day there.
Fun place to hang out with kids. Enjoyed the IMAX movie on volcanoes
This is an amazing places to visit for both children and adults. We were there from opening to closing. So much to do, and well looked after. It's a must visit. We watched the I max movie there too, which brought a tear to my eye. There is an area where you can try and make things, car's, boats, ball that doesn't light up (forgot what this one's called). I've never laughed so much. A must visit. Thank you for an amazing day
Wonderful science center, our family spent almost the whole day here. We loved that everything is hands on, keeps it interesting for our kids. We also appreciated that they show English and French movies.
Great for a kids day out in the winter as it’s all indoors. Plan to go for around 3 hours to have enough time for the whole exhibition. There is a cafe for coffee/snacks. Lot’s of sanitization and hand wash stations ????????
Loads of fun. So much to see and do. You can also have your kids birthday party there. Gonna go again for sure.
I had a very fun time with my kids. We spent about 4 hours there but could have spent another hour at the workshop had we had time. A really great layout and very interactive for the kids. Worth the price of the tickets.
Very fond childhood memories, and now it’s a fun place for my kids
Compared to the Ontario Science centre it's smaller but does have some similar things. Bonus is that it's way less crowded than the one in Toronto
Been in Vancouver science center, Toronto and today visited Montreal’s. Among those 3 - Montreal’s been most non interesting unfortunately:( no much interesting stuff. Only human body exhibition was kind of cool. Rest is typical boring stuff
I went there for the dinosaur exhibition and my 3-year old daughter loved it. There's also an area towards the back of the museum where young kids can play. Unfortunately the second floor is really for older kids and I couldn't even find an elevator to go there with a stroller.
My son and his friends love to spend time exploring science, playing and watching short documentary movies. This is the perfect place for the kids and adults too. Better to buy membership if you wish to go often.
The Science Centre is truely great for kids at all age. We had great time and I highly recommend it for families with children, have to say that charging 67$ for two adults and a 4 year old seem expensive in my opinion. Museums should be affordable, and that wasn't the case at all. Moreover stay away from the Cafeteria unless you'd like to pay 3.6$ for a bottle of coke and 8$ for a basic ham sandwich.
Great for kids and adult but go during adults nights if you don't want screaming children.
Definitely aimed more towards younger children but still a fun and educational trip!
Great visit. Enjoyed the building room especially.
Great fun for every one. Specially for children.
Nice place to spend time with the kids., Especially in the winter time.
Expensive, but disappointing. Halifax science centre is better in a city a quarter of the size.
As two adults without kids it felt weird to go, but we still had fun as there are things adults can enjoy. Particularly the sound, light & balance exhibits. I would go again but you can't really spend more than an hour there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day here with our three year old. We could have easily spent more time and she was thrilled.
Clean and fairly well laid out, they have a wide variety of hands-on exhibits for younger kids (under 10), and a few that would entertain older children and adults, as well. There’s a under 8 play room on the ground level for kids to burn off extra energy!
We came here for the science--and we stayed for hours for the fun. My two-year old loved the hands-on activities found in several of the exhibits. My wife and I especially enjoyed the Dreamworks exhibit; what an amazing peek it gave to us at the creative process for movies such as Shrek! I thought the maker space was a great way to spend an hour trying to develop ingenious solutions to the various challenges at each station.
Its a science museum. They have this awsome exposition where u challenge your self to finding ways build things. Its very hands on. Then they have another exposition hands on but more how things behave and why. Like poulie systems, music, satellite. Its really orientee for kids maybe 6 and over. There are also other exposition that are temporary. I feel that having visited other science museums in USA anf canada, i find its lacking funding. There could be so much more in the permanent museum. Like an animal section. The human section is fun too. They have a physical fitneas comparison area where u can attempt to do a chin up that is chronometered. Just a great place to spend the day wih kids. An adult outing? No! Unless there is a really really good temporary museum i do not recomment for adults! Adults will have fun with their kids but not worth the price for what u learn as an adult.
Movies, diffrent play ground at different floor for kids. Different paying activities For group, teach the the wonders of the science and the world. For families the best time would be at the opening or around 15 o'clock.
Visited on an ASTC passport (we have a membership at our local science centre and can visit other ASTC members outside 90 miles for no charge). We had the poor fortune of visiting on a day when several summer camps were also visiting, adding a lot of chaos to several parts of the centre and exhibits. Our children still had lots of fun, and hopefully learned a few things while we were at it.
My son who is 2 years old loves going here. They have things for different age groups. A small playground for younger ones! It’s a great place for winter.
Good place to go, smaller than the one in Ottawa, but the kids like it, they can learn a lot of things there.
Lots of things to do for all ages. We were a group of 10 : visitor from abroad, grand-parents, teenagers, child, toddler and us the parents and they had to kick us out! They really know how to make your museum experience interactive and fun. It's not only educational but a fun way to introduce museum to younger children. Lovely lovely place to spend a full day when the weather is scorching hot or rainy.
Interactive place for kids and adults to learn a few things and have fun
Excellent experience! This museum is very interactive and was great for all ages. There did not seem to be much staff, but it wasn't problematic. I plan to return with my family. The entire museum is in French and English.
Lots of engaging activities for children. Nice that they have parking onsite and it close to lots of stuff in old Montreal. Was surprised that there was not hand sanitizer stations everywhere.
