It’s a lovely museum and definitely had a very informative guided tour. Guide is very very knowledgeable. This is one of my favourite attractions in Montreal. Yes it is far away from other attractions, but it still worth it. And you can visit Irish monument rock on the way to the museum.

History of Québec Education system speaks here. It’s the house of Marguerite Bourgeois where she started teaching to the girls for the first time in Québec. Many hospitals evidences, ancient agricultural tools and equipments, food freezing techniques, house heating techniques etc could be the best takeaway for the visitors. Most interesting, the bed had big pile of pillows almost a half of it’s size. It’s because the people during the period never used to sleep in laying positions due to the fear of dying. So, they used to sleep in sitting positions having a big support from their back.

A great piece of Montreal history. There is a wonderful guided tour that explains how every bit of the house and gardens. You are very much sent into the past People are weaving and felting and such outside and you learn about their specific trade and how it worked in that era. I really appreciated the tour guide explaining each aspect of the house including the nuns, farmers, cellar, school, living room, etc. with lots of insightful information. There isn't a ton to do here but If you are in Montreal, I would definitely go here.

(Translated) The place is beautiful, and very interesting from the historical point of view. The girls who attend, quite in a hurry and with certain limitations to handle some situations. We called and confirmed that the closing time was at 6:00 pm; We arrived at 5:00 p.m., and we headed to the terrace to taste the products they offer there. They answered that they were closing (17:12), as a claim, they agreed to serve us, but they warned us that it should be very fast. the tea and the rushed cookies, under the gaze of the girl, who was waiting to remove the vanilla 17:45. The guided tour had just begun, so the guide kindly offered to join us, and pay the entrance later when we entered (we were in the garden). While being inside, it reminded us that we had not yet paid the entrance, every three minutes. In synthesis, the place is beautiful, it is worth visiting, homemade cookies with ciboullete, those of orange and the exquisite tea.A shame that some girls do not understand how important it is to attend to the tourist with more dedication.

Excellent place to visit with family or friends, very good information provided by kind people dressed as the Nouvelle France era, they explain how normal people lived and how they survived or work at that time, you can even try with them to do some of the activities, the tour inside the house is very worthy be aware that one tour is in English and next is in French, you can easily spend 3 hours in the visit, there is no parking at the house but is very easy to find free parking in the near surroundings, And for those that acquired their Canadian citizenship in the previous 12 months your entry might be free by presenting your passez-culturel.

(Translated) One of the most beautiful museums in Montreal. By its historical aspect, a beautiful conservation of our nuns who lived there a short time ago. An improvement of the site, a restaurant, well-appointed gardens, but especially its craftsmen and historians guests who make the summer's beautiful days at St. Gabriel's house. To see again, certainly!

(Translated) Picturesque place in Montreal, it feels like being in the countryside, in the past while we are in the heart of the city. A very enriching visit where we learn about the living conditions of the first settlers as well as how they managed to survive in this harsh climate. We also talk a lot about the roy girls and we learn a lot of little things about their lives (Original) Lieu pittoresque à Montréal, on a l'impression d'être en campagne ,dans le passé alors que nous sommes en plein cœur de la ville.
