Parking is 1$ an hour. Lots to do and lots to see around here. There's another sculpture of a sea serpent near by. That area is very pretty to walk through. Many ducks and geese!

The spirit catcher architecture is very unique and spiritual in its own sense but the place can get crowded during the evening times. It is a nice place to enjoy the lake view but if you are looking for wilderness and seclusion this is not the place.

Absolutely beautiful location for tourists. It lets you see the down-town core at your back, and the Kempenfelt bay in front straight across to minets point (where you can take your kids to the park and get some ice-cream from a tiny little local shop on the left while driving into the kids-park. This spot is host to quite a few community events over the summer months and tends to attract a wide array of crowds depending on time of day / season. Check it out if you haven't! This spots photo worthy.

The Spirit Catcher is beautiful and I love how it rises over Barrie's waterfront. No matter how many times I see it, I'm still struck by its beauty. The city has put in other sculptures, monuments and beautiful gardens along the lakefront, and I love walking the paths that wind around the water. Just a beautiful city.

View of the bay from the Spirit Catcher location in downtown Barrie. Peaceful area to relax but not a lot of shade. Bring adequate gear for warm days. No camping in this area but it's family friendly and parking is available.

Good paved paths for walking, strollers. Benches are scattered all over for enjoying the lake view, unfortunately few, if any, are in shade to allow resting out of the sun. Large rocks abound to afford more seating at the water's edge.

This is a cool metal sculpture with "feathers" that move in the breeze. It's pretty impressive, and makes a neat photo opportunity. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but it's already in the scenic/touristy part of Barrie, so chances are you'll see it anyway.

This is a large kinetic sculpture made with an image of a Thunderbird, carrying people's dreams and desires to the Creator. The wings are shaped as sharp blades that move with the wind. The sculpture is both interesting and mythical to behold. When I visited last weekend, the sculpture was decorated with children's shoes and toys, as a memorial to the children lost in former residential school. It was a dark page in Canadian history and around the world where young and the vulnerable were victims of racial injustice. Let's do our part and don't let history repeats itself.

Spirit Catcher is an impressive statute that has become a landmark in Barrie, Ontario. The sixteen kinetic quills move in the wind and that gives the statue an unusually lively look. Located on the shore of Kempenfelt Bay which is connected to Lake Simcoe, the statue is both close to the colourful downtown area and the marina.

The Gem of the city!! If you are anywhere in sight of the Spirit Catcher you are guaranteed to have some nice views surrounding. As a result of missing being in Barrie, I tattooed this statue on my shoulder when I lived in Edmonton and have worn it proudly everywhere I go! People have given me positive comments on it all across Canada. I love this statue. It represents festivity, community, beauty, nature and lifestyle all bundled into one, and so much more!
