Craig Baird

Pretty cool outdoor exhibit, inside didn't seem worth the admission fees

Daniel Harris

Its a small museum with not too many "things." But it is a fantastic retrospective to Gander's relevance to the rise of aviation in general and commercial aviation. Especially liked the 9/11 corner...listening to recordings of ATC conversations with bewildered pilots being instructed to land in GANDER was fascinating.

It was closed when I went to see the place. My mistake for not checking the hours posted online. They have a couple of planes outside and apparently one inside the building. Next time I will visit mid week to see whats inside ????

A must see for aviation or WW2 buffs. I didn't know the town didn't even exist until they built the airport and then the whole town had to be moved in the 1950's.

Cool stop on the side of the TCH. Unfortunately, closed on the day I visited due to public holiday. Still, airplanes on display outside were nice to look at. One of few remaining Catalinas on display!

Nadine Robinson

It's okay but I was surprised there was nothing about the silent witness memorial crash, only a plaque by the washroom. Make sure you go up the highway just a bit further and see the silent witness memorial too.

Peter Bosovich

They can't seem to decided when they're open. Everytime we went back there was a new note saying it wasn't open until a later date.

Very informative and historical! Some sad, yet humane...

Was a fantastic experience. For someone like me who loves aviation it was wonderful. The price is excellent for the sure number of interesting things to see in there. The 911 memorial was emotional and being in the same room as a piece of the steel beam from ground zero was even more emotional. Highly recommend a stop, do not pass this place!

I never thought about flight sims in a museum, but it really works here. They have a lot of local aviation history, some from the world wars, early trans-Atlantic flight history, and even as recent as the aviation affects of 9/11. They have a piece of girder from the towers as well. They have several different flight sims, some of which you can use. There is an old bi-plane inside, and several other planes outside. Fantastic place for anyone with an interest in planes!

Tony Batten

Emil Koziolek

Place was great and very informative with what I was able to see and read. But the service was horrible payed to get in then was rushed out 15 mins later because the person behind the counter wanted to go for lunch. Maybe next time they will have someone to cover for there lunch break was really disappointed that happened wish I would of known before hand and not had to waste my money to get rushed out 15 minutes later.

So much history here! The planes on display outside are accessible and really help in understanding how it might have felt to fly in one. These crews were brave and skilled. Inside the displays are well laid out and explained. The 9/11 tribute is worth the time to watch. With Kleenex in hand. Gander folks were amazing!! Still are.

Comparatively small museum (essentially one large room) but still very enjoyable and worthwhile. Information panels/displays are arranged in chronological order around the room, so the entire museum reads like very fascinating storybook of the history of aviation in Newfoundland. There are a couple full-sized planes outside the museum, and there is a flight simulator you can try.
