Amazing collection!
Great collection...loved it!
Were there in July on 6,000 mile RV trip.AWESOME!! If you like history and the interesting modes of travel,This is IT! Most impressive collection in all of North America. It is THE LARGEST as well. The folks there were wonderful and some day hope to return.
This Museum is beautiful inside and out. We were welcomed by a very nice lady and the prices aren’t that high to enter into the museum. They even offer Carriage rides to go behind the creek! (totally worth it to be honest) The layout of the museum and how the carriages are displayed is wonderfully done! You can really see the history and evolution of the carriages. The gift shop by the front door is cute, you will definitely take something home with you after experiencing the rich history from this museum. 10/10 would definitely go again. Great place to go with family and kids.
Great carriage ride and helpful interpreters
Stunning carriages, and the building housing them is a story into itself.
Fun place to visit. Very nostalgic.
Have been here several times. Love it here.
Great collection of antique carriages. Onsite craftsmen demonstrate carriage making and restoration.
A very beautiful and historic collection of Carriages. Had a great time today!
I traveled through cardston so often and have never stopped because I thought carriages would be boring. Finally we took the opportunity to visit and I was impressed how how much I learned. I soon. Found myself climbing in and out of carriages. There were even lots of different things for my 3yr old and 1yr old to do.
Great experience at the museum. I've been 3-4 times before and always enjoy viewing the historical exhibits and stories that helped build our nation/province. Highly recommend if you're in the Cardston area.
Excellent display of old carriages
Nice carriages
Absolutely amaing
This place is awesome! So many carriages to see. The history that comes with each piece is great. You can go on tours with interpreters, and learn so much more than going on your own. They have a movie theatre showing films and a restaurant. You can go to the restoration shop and see staff actually making parts to restore the carriages in the collection. They are hosting the local farmers market this summer, and even have wagon rides! You will need a couple of hours to really get the most out of this facility, but even short visits are fun and informative.
Lots of old carriages and wagons and horseless carriages.
Unbelievable
Lots of interesting vehicles n carriages, history
Very nicely laid out and informative. Interesting but of Seabiscuit history too.
Saw it on s17e17 of The Simpsons 10/10
A fun place to visit for the whole family. Well worth at least one visit.
Very friendly staff. Great little museum for the kids to explore and strech their legs on the way to waterton or back. There is also carriage rides and guided tours.
My husband is a wheelwright and he loves this place.
(Translated) Very extensive collection of carriages! Not only interesting for horse lovers. It shows the history of the coach and there are great guides to it. Nice exhibition! (Original) Sehr umfangreiche Sammlung an Kutschen! Nicht nur für Pferdenarren interessant. Es wird die Geschichte der Kutsche gezeigt und es gibt tolle Führungen dazu. Schöne Ausstellung!
Amazing. So interesting.
I liked it so much I volunteer there once a week.
This museum was amazing. They have a large number of interactive activities for children kept everyone happy. The building and grounds are well kept and there is a nice picnic area near by.
Amazing place! A must if you visit Alberta ! Over 300 horse carriages, very well organized exhibition.
Really worth it. Great collection and lovely building.
Nice
Long before autos we had the privilege of horses, stables, a simpler life. Love this place.
Stopped in Cardston for the night and decided to take a look. Much larger than I thought, and a nice trip back to the way things were. This is definitely worth a visit should you be in the area. Heck, even make a trip here just for that purpose.
It is a lovely experience. You get to know about History, Innovation and what restoration work. It is a must visit place.
Absolutely beautiful carriages. It was something my partner wanted to check out the next time we were near Cardston. I am very glad we stopped by. We even had a chance to go for a carriage ride. Definitely worth going.
Very interesting. Way too many carriages to fully take in though. Need more time to see everything and we were on a bit of a schedule. Give yourself lots of time. This is a huge collection.
Wow really cool place! Had no idea something like this was nestled away here. Definitely worth making a trip to see this museum
Very informative and well laid out! It was interesting to see the information that was available to help us understand what the west was like before the automobile.
If carriages are your thing, then you're in heaven. My kids enjoyed it, and the guys that ran the carriage ride were quite knowledgeable and friendly. Felt like it was a bit expensive to have the carriage ride on top of the entrance to the museum, just include it like other places do.
If you like carriages and history. Go check it out.
Great museum
I saw Cinderella in one of the carriages!! ;)
So much to see at a very reasonable price.
It was neat.
Lots of history.
Fall at its finest
Beautiful
This place is a great side stop to whatever you're doing. While I never thought that a carige museum could be this interesting, the guide was really handy, and knew the place (and contents wherein) like the back of his hand. He was incredibly friendly, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone with a question. A great experience overall, and give the employees a raise. how about that?
Awesome guides and interactive learning.
liked your Christmas lights set-up very nice work
Great selection of early animal drawn vehicles. Well presented. Well worth a visit.
One of the best museums I've ever been to and I say that unironically. There is SO MUCH here - carriages, history, rides, a working stable, horse racing history, etc. If you are passing though you should definitely stop by this museum.
Great tourist attraction really interesting. Nice little gift shop and cafe too.
Beautiful collection of carriages, motorized and horse drawn. It’s worth a visit.
Lots to see, nice drive to Cardston!

Way more fun than I imagined it would be. Even the three children aged 8-12 really enjoyed it. It's wonderful that Mr Remington thought to preserve this piece of history. Be sure to take the carriage ride while you're there as well.
Very expensive to look at some carriages.
First class all the way!!! I have never seen a place with so much pride of ownership. The site has been there for some time and I to top it off it has horse barns and a wood shop attached and you can’t find a speck of dust on anything. The displays are informative and well laid out. My 2 and 9 year old had a blast here also because of all the things to look at and even interact with. There are full size props and displays great for photos and interesting with. There is even a YOUNG children’s area towards the back (the middle as you walk through) that’s just at the right point to give a parent a reprieve from there children for a minute as it will hold there attention for likely longer then yours ( as an adult you’ll want to move on) If your lucky enough to be in the right spot or right time the shop will even make you a Very Very unique keepsake that my kids have still talked about... It was a 2.5 hour drive with kids for me to get here and I would do it again to see this place a second time or more.
Friendly Staff.
Very beautiful museum in very nice buildings. Staff is so helpful and does a great job guiding. Museum is much better than you would think even though you may not have the biggest interest in carriages.
I have been here many times and have enjoyed the experience every time.
Love carriages? This is the best place to see ;) Staff are very friendly.
Amazing
Great place to visit for your whole family. Kids will love it and can be a great experience. The horse carriage ride was amazing.
Best museum around
Kinda boring
The picnic area is a time machine. Is the jewel of the city
This was really interesting. I’m from AB and enjoyed the history lesson!
Go there next time
It's a wonderful place to see holding history with viewing & riding carriages in nice scenery and has a wonderful event called the festival of lights done in celebration around Christmas which has been held there the last five years.
Lots of history very well laid out
Nice glimpse into the past
My Grandfather gave his time effort life during winter months to build this legacy. Bravo Grandpa Don!! Robyn.
The stories come to life about the carriages in the Remington Carriage Museum while listening to the tour guide. What a fascinating place to visit! Don't miss it!
We spent a few hours checking out the facility and ran out of time to go for a ride. Will definitely go back and take the guided tour next time as well as the ride. The staff is extremely nice, friendly and knowledgeable. This place is a hidden gem and I wish more people knew about it.
It was eell worth the stop. Very interesting too see all of the carriages and to kearn a little Canadian history.
Good wifi connection
Awesome
Fantastic and historical place. I actual went here on a service call for work but was able to see a good amount of the building. I thought it was very nice and decided to go back to visit as a customer. Highly recommended to history lovers!
Best carriage museum ever. Loved the carriage ride that went along the creek.
Great experience
Was a lot more than I expected. Loved everything. Was worth the two day drive.
This is a very interesting musuem about carriages!! Make sure you get a guided tour. It is well worth it.
It was absolutely beautifully done, tons of info at each vignette, it was great. We were able to speak with the fellow in charge of restoration and conservation of all the display items. He was so informative and ready to answer questions. Hungry? Theres a little cafe and also a gift shop Highly recommend
Wonderful collection of carriages and very cooperative staff. We really enjoyed the visit
What a great classic museum So much to see
WOW!
Excellent
An excellent place to see examples of the old wagons. It was winter so we didn't get to enjoy a carriage ride but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Educational and interesting. Didn't realize how many different types of horse drawn wagons there were - what a great collection and display. The tour guides were a wealth of information. It's a day visit to take it all in.
Good place and good people
Myself and my sister did a short RV trip and visited this museum. We are interested in history and found it very interesting. Enough so that I returned and volunteered for a couple of weeks. This is a great museum if you want to add some history to your experiences .
Fabulous display great tour
I'm not a fan of museums or carriages. I'm not a fan of history and I hate reading. But I really like this place. Ive been 4 times now and it never seems to get boring. Nice people, and cool exhibits w occasional activities/ crafts. On-site carriage workshop you can walk through/ watch. My kids and inlaws love this place as well.
(Translated) Very well constructed (Original) Sehr gut aufgebaut
Amazing collection of horse drawn vehicles. The best I've ever seen.
Most Carriages in one place it just reminds you of when you were young and you went for a sleigh rides with horses pulling it's amazing how just a 120 years ago how people traveled. Well worth the trip
I didn't expect it but it was very interesting.
The history the beauty the montain
Very interesting Museum, the campground next door was very relaxing.
Want to see the largest collection of fine horse drawn vehicles in the world here it is don't miss it.
Great place to visit. Incredible workmanship on restoration of all types of wagons. Fun filled activities available year round for all ages.
Great place to spend the day
Love every minute if my horse rides so far! Loved learning new surprising history about the trees in this area, stories about chief mountain and the size of the card home, the genius pioneer toys and enjoying the gleeful joycries of the littles, while feeling like they were on a parade float and they should bring candy to throw at people. It was a blissful moment genuinely thinking: "Oh how I love enjoying my children" While in the background listening to the gentle clop clop of the horses.
Was so amazed at the size of the collection they have and the history of said collection also the restoration work that they do is simply magic.
Very friendly staff, very clean and well laid out. The carriage ride was a great deal, longer than I expected and the driver and young man accompanying him were extremely knowledgeable about the area and history as well as their horses. A few exhibits for kids, but would recommend 8 and over otherwise they may get bored.
Great place
Amazing place to visit. It has a really large collection of different types carriages. The free tour guides are very informative, it was really interesting to learn how carriages"evolved" into the automative industry. I had a 8 and 5 year old and I initially thought they won't last for more than an hour, and we ended up spending 2.5 hrs there.
The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, was first time there, was given no welcome just glares when my family and I figured out on our own that we had to go up and order and politely asked if there it was just breakfast or there was a menu, we received more glares and a snarky comment “it’s on the board” then they turned around and continued to ignore us, rude! Unwelcoming! And definitely not family friendly! Pretty sad when the fast food restaurants have better customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would!
Loved it
Another adventure yesterday to Cardston Alberta, home of the Remington Carriage Museum (220 km from my home in Calgary, close to the Montana border). This museum is outstanding, and is the largest carriage museum in the world.... really big place would not be overstated. Mr Don Remington was the visionary......an amazing individual. Google him if you like.. The hospitality of the staff was superb. Our guided tour (approximately 40 minutes in duration) was well done. The gentleman (I am so sorry for forgetting his first name) was thoroughly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the amazing collection housed in this beautiful museum. He was outstanding! As big as this place is, it still could be larger to provide the vast collection even more justice. It is difficult to see anything displayed on the second and third shelves. The very first piece (sleigh) that Mr. Remington restored, and what is arguably the raison d'etre for the museum today, is located in an obscure location on the third shelf in the main area. In my humble opinion it should be at the entrance where the McLaughlin display is located. It should be a showcase item because of it's inherent importance as the story essentially commenced with this priceless item in all it's banged up, taped together glory. George Woolf, the legendary jockey who rode Sea Biscuit to victory over Triple Crown Winner War Admiral (unless you have lived under a rock and have not seen the 2003 movie Sea Biscuit you know who I am talking about) was born in Cardston, and is a feature at this museum. I highly recommend a visit to this spectacular museum.
