[Edited 2/19/19 to reflect follow-up from their COO] Our salesman, Rick, was professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with on our move. However, the actual move did not go well. The movers did not work efficiently. When asked to get back to work, they asked, "you know the estimate said 8 hours, right." That's not what a customer wants to hear. They wrapped couches and chairs that wouldn't get scratched anyway and neglected to wrap certain wooden pieces that were more fragile and susceptible to damage. They seemed to move items multiple times and stage them before moving them into the truck. They also seem to be really straining themselves rather than relying on each other for help and assistance to lessen the load. When they arrived at our new home, they did some damage to some walls, ceilings, paint, and furniture. Multiple pieces of furniture were dropped and two were broken by the movers, and not because they shifted in the truck. One of them used the F word many times in front of my wife and young son. He didn't seem to realize how unprofessional and rude this is. I told him to stop. When the home office called me to ask how the move was going, I told them about the swearing. Soon after the mover confronted me in my own house asking if I had a problem with their work. Luckily for him his boss arrived at that very moment. I expected an attempt to rectify the problems on the spot instead of the manager explaining them away. It took this review to get some true follow-up from upper management who finally did take the time to listen. He apologized and promised to make it right, and he was responsive and easy to reach from that point forward. He stated that this would be a learning experience, and that Clark is committed to good customer service and referrals. I'm happy with his personal involvement, and I appreciate the time he took with me.

I was very excited to hear what this company has to offer based on the reviews. I called in, and the first person who answered was very polite. He transferred me to another individual, and I left a voice mail to call me back and see what they can do to help us move. When I did receive the call, the lady on the phone had a very condescending voice and seems like she was rushing to end the conversation with me. Least to say, the conversation was over in less than a minute. I don't think I would want to work with someone who is ready to shut me down when asking basic and valid questions. I am genuinely disappointed.

Today we moved an 87 year old gentleman from his home of many years, to senior independent living community at Chapel Oaks, Rochester, NY We had two outstanding young men by the name of Joe Caccamise and Jake Trieste do all the heavy lifting, pushing pulling and hauling on a hot and at times stormy day. I had several estimates done before my move. The estimates were all fairly similar but I felt most comfortable with Clark Moving from the initial contact. A team of guys from Clark Moving did my local move. They were on time, respectful, worked hard and worked well together. My job ended up much larger than initially anticipated. They communicated with me throughout the day to keep me updated on how things were going and what to expect. I believe my money was well spent going with Clark and would definitely use them again in the future if the need arose.

The curved glass on our China cabinet was broken during the moving. Mover stated it went on the truck in one piece, came out broken. They claim they are not responsible for the $862 repair, very upsetting!

UPDATE 2: We now have a tentative delivery date for a week from now. Assuming that occurs, that puts us nearly 2 full weeks out from our initial delivery window, and 30 full days out from our initial pickup. I will say that the local Rochester office has been helpful and responsive, but Mayflower corporate has been a massive disappointment. I have a relative doing a similar long-distance move who contracted with a small, local company. Their items were picked up on Tuesday and delivered on Friday. I thought going with the large, national company would ensure a smooth move, but was proven very wrong. --- UPDATE: Two days later and no progress. This is a nightmare. That a moving company has no capability to deliver items after they pick them up is horrifying. Stay away. --- We hired Clark to do a long-distance move for us. As of now, we are outside of our delivery window and they have no plan for how or when they will deliver our items to us. A moving company is supposed to pickup items in location A and deliver them to location B. The first part was great. Clark was very communicative, explaining the process to us and what was expected. They worked with us to get accurate estimates. Loading day went off without a hitch; the movers were professional and friendly. But once they had our items things took a turn for the worse. We were initially informed that our delivery would be towards the end of our delivery window; which was fine. A couple days later we were told that they don't have a driver and don't know when our items will be delivered, but they were working to resolve that. We waited a couple days, checked-in and were informed nothing had changed. They still had no plans or ability to deliver our items. We are now outside of our delivery window, still in the same situation. The moving company we hired does not know how/if/when they will move our items. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere. [NOTE: I will update this review with the resolution.]

In addition they could not have someone out to do an estimate for over 10 days. I just wanted to send a belated "Thank You" to your company and staff for making my parent's move so effortless. My parents decided to move out of their long time home, and they were very worried about making sure their possessions were well taken care of as they were transported to the new location. I was concerned about how long it would take because my parents had a long day ahead of them. Al and Joe arrived promptly and were very courteous. They were so patient with my dad (he had just woken up and wasn't ready for the bedroom furniture to be moved) and mom (who was tending to dad) and with me (as I nervously fluttered around the house). They packed everything very carefully and the contents arrived and were unpacked with no damage. I also appreciated the call to find out how the move went later in the day. I felt as if it added a caring touch to an emotional experience. We also received a slight refund in the price because we had less boxes than expected. That was good for the budget as well!

Overestimated by over 1.5 tons - verbally said it would be refunded - it was at $.30 on the $1.00. Ripped off by about $4k. Damaged both our house we were moving out of and also where we moved into. Impossible to file for damages. Beware!

My first encounters with the Clark Co. went well. The office staff were helpful and efficient. On the day of the move the truck arrived an hour early, when I mentioned this to the movers they were pleassant and curtious and waited in the driveway until we were ready. The movers were pleasant, helpful and polite throughout the move. I signed all paperwork, which was not clearly explained to me. The insurance I signed off on was for 30 cents per pound. No one mentions that if you think about that it means when one of the very nice guys breaks a 10 pound torchiere lamp, (replacement cost being $75 dollars) that after they nicely apologize and say not to worry we will take care of it. It means you will be reimbursed $3.24, which doesn't even cover the tax. I feel I was blind sided as to the insurance and now need to replace the lamp that was clearly broken by the mover!

The FAIRPORT Baptist Home does not have a service elevator to move furniture. It took three x’s as long going from upper floor to 1st floor where the resident moved to! Was horrible and never a complaint from the movers ! They were THE BEST!! Would recommend in a heart beat❣️

Hi, my husband and I used your go mini storage services while we moved. I cannot say enough good things about your team. Shirley was so wonderful when our closing date got pushed out. She was able to coordinate everything in an instant and was always a pleasure to speak with. This group made our move unbelievably easy. The communication and teamwork that these guys showed was amazing. I’ll never move again but I’ll gladly recommend this company to anyone. They moved my entire house including a pretty big hot tub for a lower price then most companies wanted for just the tub. In fact they came in $400 under the estimated cost.

Michael from Clark showed up to give a qoute. He gave us whole salesman spiel about how they’re such a professional company. Took a walk around my house for a long time and asked me several questions. And then l was told within 24 hours I would have a qoute. I decided that point no matter what the cost. We were going to use Clark moving storage because he was so professional. 48 hours had passed. I had not heard back from Michael. I emailed him and several hours later he got back to me and told me he had no information for me and that I had to wait even longer for my qoute. By end of day yesterday he emailed. I was advised that they were completely booked. And that because my date seemed very solid that they just didn’t want to do it . Well my dates aren’t solid we did not discuss that. I have absolutely no problem with them being booked but I have a huge problem with them sending out a sales person when they knew my move-in date and they were fully booked already. Why in earth would you waste my time. I wouldn’t recommend using them for a local move. And if you’re hoping they can get you in they can’t. But they’ll make you feel like they can. And that they have your back. Its all talk. I’ll find a real moving company. So disappointed. Then after telling me they couldn’t help me and making this review. They sent me an email trying to explain themselves away when that’s not even what this is about there so unprofessional

They built a crate to protect a glass top console table made in Denmark for me because I would not be able to find a replacement if it was damaged.
