John Q moving was by far the best moving company we have ever dealt with. We had three different moving companies involved at different parts of our move, and John Q was easily the better of the three. The care they took in our belongings and furniture, shrink wrapping everything that could potentially get scratched or marked up, the efficiency of their work crew in pre-loading items at the top of each staircase to create a train to effectively move boxes down the stairs in minimal time was impressive. And of course when stacking and organizing the moving truck with our items, they did it room by room to make sure when they offloaded everything would be done efficiently and effectively with minimal time wasted. We had them move us out of our house, but my dad also used John Q for moving his work office and the experience was just as spectacular. You would be crazy to not use John Q moving, their team is the best.

Moving with John Q was one of the most pleasant experiences my wife and I have ever had with any service. FULL STOP! First of all, he was gracious enough to take us in despite calling him on a Monday for a move on the Friday of that same week. Granted, we didn’t have a lot of items to move (likely why he accepted). But what would’ve taken us a several hours had we rented a van to do ourselves only took several minutes with him and his son. From our 9am start, everything was finished just after 9:30. John cared enough to make sure certain boxes were loaded first so we didn’t bother my father (who was still sleeping) too much. Seeing that it was a new home we were moving into, he also stacked the boxes in a way so that Shaw or a home security company could come in with a clear path to the car panel.

A moving company who is experienced, licensed and bonded there any specific ve to be placed in all of their be No need to overcharge. Hence you will get paid what you estimated the charge to be. I just used John Q Moving to move the contents of my two bedroom basement suite to a townhouse with two flites of stairs. They are extremely professional, friendly, and careful with the things they move. His price is fair and his service is top notch! I only got charged half hour for travel time while another company had quoted me 1.5 hrs travel time and 10 $ an hour extra. Lets just say his helper was super polite and a great worker. I would recommend him to anyone. The owner on the other hand was rude, and just because I'm a woman asked me to go outside and watch the stuff in the truck (cause he told me he gave me the easy job) He didn't seem to realize what the big deal was with tipping my filing cabinet on its backside and lying it down, when all my legal papers are now bent and squished and I still cannot get the doors to the drawers open, and it now needs to be replaced as we had to break it to get into it. My bed now has damage also. The owner told me to get out of the way and treated me like a weak little female when I basically did almost half the work myself. I had to tell the owner simple directions 3 times like put that over there, and he would just ignore me and think he would do better until he realized it wouldn't fit where he tried to put it. I also said everything labelled fragile cannot be stacked, and had to state this almost 3 times. The helper I only had to say things to once and he got them right away with a huge smile on his face. Plus the owner showed up at 9:15am when we had a 9am appointment. The owner kept telling me he's a professional mover, and that they are great at what they do, big lie! I HAVE LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES ABOUT THE DAMAGE HE DID AND SUPRISE SUPRISE HE WON'T EVEN CALL ME BACK, I GUESS WE WILL BE GOING TO COURT OVER THIS ONE TILL HE REPLACES MY BROKEN STUFF! His website says he gets his business from repeats and referrals, I don't see how???

I moved last weekend and my cousin recommended John Q Moving. They were moving another client in the morning so I thought they would come later in the afternoon. But, they finished the previous job early and I was more than happy to have them come sooner. The 2 guys that did the move were quick and friendly. They had about 5+ trolleys going at a time and wrapped some of my furniture in plastic to avoid damage. I lived in a 2br and den and the whole process took 3hrs. Inexpensive and efficient, I highly recommend them and will be using them in the future. A relative has already called them up to book for end of Sept. ????

This was a large move and on the day of the move, John and his crew arrived on time and got going. Number 1, highly recommend. I hired John Q Moving to move me from vancouver to the okanagan. In a little under 2 hours, they had my full 2brdm 2bath apartment loaded into the truck and ready to go. They were quick, but took their time in wrapping and packing; nothing was damaged at all. I was charged a ridiculous amount, they were late an hour and a half for one, only to get yelled at early in the AM because he was late. and two, to get yelled at again to help MOVE my own stuff, after I paid all that money!! Anddd to come across my headboard for my expensive bed is broken on the bottom. If I could post a picture I would. HIGHLY not recommend ????

John and his guy Jerry arrived right on time as promised the morning of my move. My building manager(being the responsible guy that he is) forgot to show up for work and lock off the elevator. Despite this, John and Jerry got to work anyway. The building manager finally decided to show up 45 minutes later and I couldn't believe it, John and Jerry were almost already half done! Not having much experience with moving contractors, I got a few quotes from different movers(big and small) and finally decided on John Q. I was a little cautious at first when he said that he didn't do written estimates and only charged by an hourly rate but I decided to give him a chance anyway based on his existing reviews, reasonable rates and friendly demeanor over the phone. All I can say is that I'm extremely satisfied with John Q and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. They were honest, efficient, careful, experienced and professional.
