Prices are very reasonable and everything runs smoothly. Sammy, the guy in charge there has been really helpful and sorted everything out for me. I can't fault the service, location or the price. I had a great experience with Storguard. I didn't have any furniture, just the odd bits and bobs I needed to store for a few months. Garry, the owner, is very helpful- he gave me a great discount because I was renting under 4 months and although I cancelled too late, he didn't have me pay the next month. There are lockers of various sizes. What I also liked is how easily accessible the location was; downtown but with an alley loading bay for cars to drive right up to. Would recommend very highly!

Used to be called Yaletown Mini Storage. Upon change, prices increased drastically almost overnight with no valid reasoning. Management is not involved in the operation and will not answer questions. Place closes relatively early and new weekday attendant is sometimes rude, combative and seems to lack some attention to security (rather important as the place relies on a paper sign in/out rather than FOB'd access). Weekend attendant on the other hand is the nicest man in town and will always go out of his way to help and is always on the ball in every aspect of the operation of this facility.

Everything you could want in a storage locker. Great staff, clean, convenient and affordable. Even though this place is right downtown, the rates are comparable to everywhere else even though people tell you storage downtown costs a fortune. That is simply not true. The convenience for downtown residents unbeatable. It's like a walk in closet for my apartment a few blocks away. And they have new customer specials. So what are you waiting for? Organize your home with the extra closet space.

I have had a storage unit at this facility ( on and off), for going on almost twenty years. The prices have always been the same, whenever I come in, there is always a unit available; and the staff are always super helpful and always nice. I do not think that i would ever use a different place.

Great place and friendly staff. All sizes of lockers and priced fairly in my opinion. Well secured and maintained. Reminds me of a converted New York loft with freight elevators. Theres 4 or 5 floors of lockers, main floor is a bit more pricey but much more convenient. Three loading bays and carts are available for easy moving large items. Been renting there for a year and have no complaints whatsoever.

I've been renting here since late 2013 and the staff and service has always been really amazing, very friendly and accommodating. After 3 years I can only say that I have absolutely no complaints, only great things to say about Richard, Sam and Gary. 2 stars for convenience. Certainly overpriced. But most of Vancouver is. They lose 3 stars because I gave my move out notice. November 6th but they will charge me until December 22nd because I missed the deadline for a few days. He blamed it on "upper management". As a business owner I know it's just a cash grab as I'm sure they can easily rent out the unit. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it's rented out before my move in date. Logically they don't have to charge the extra month but they're just being hard asses. Policy is policy they say. However basic business sense they should realize that I won't be using them again, even though I'm in the same vicinity, and nor will my other businesses. Forward thinking businesses would realize not to gouge. We gave plenty of time for move out. it's only November 6th when we gave notice. Fair enough to pay all of November but December to.....well they'll be the losers in the long run. It's a tough business downtown Vancouver, costs are high and they should be encouraging long term business clients not gouging them. I guess they really need the money.

It is a nice facility and the staff caught a couple of degenerates trying to break in to our unit and they were so sure of themselves they had a UHAUL to completely empty our unit. The assailants said we were out of the country n even showed ID!!!!! Thank god they were stopped after they broke in .They did manage to get some high end bags but that was it.

Not to be trusted at all, they have a thing that they really dont tell you about but you have to give two weeks notice before you move your stuff out or your charged another month on top of the exorbitant prices they already charge you , and after trying to get my things which were only there for 2 weeks the lady went on a tirade , clearly they hire The mentally I'll cause she was way out there , but I quickly got my stuff after she tried to hold it hostage and left , do not let these people rob you there are safer saner storage lockers available

It's a fine storage. I only paid a visit and checked out the units but didn't go through with the rental because it just financially didn't make sense to me. Be careful to check out the unit yourself before renting to make sure the space is big enough for your stuff. Don't just rely in dimensions because it's not a full cubic space exactly same as dimensions, one of the walls is not fully flat and dimensions are measured from the deepest part of it. It's hard to explain, just go check it out beforehand. The place is super clean tho, regardless of the facility being very old.

We went to around 5:53 pm, we have been there a few times to store the stuff and literally takes 5 mins to put them there. However, the receptionist did not want to make us in because he thought it would take more than that and did not want to work extra time. And he offered us to pay $40 in cash to him if we still want to come in because we are stealing "his personal time". and it was raining outside plus the uber we came with was already gone. I wonder what option is left to us. Well, and as I said, we stored our stuff in 5 mins (yes, it passed 6 pm because we had some argument about $40), and he earned $40 for 5 minutes extra time. What a good business. For your information, it happened Oct 28th, 2021.

I have to deal with storage units constantly, as i travel a lot and need space for gear, tools, etc. I usually don't ever leave a review because i deal with so many and i'm so busy but this place blew me away. As soon as i walked in i was greeted with a very warm welcome, and informed down to every last detail. The gentleman at the front was more than cordial and went above and beyond to ensure that I, my possessions, and all my coworkers that used the unit were well taken care of. If you need to drive a few extra miles out of your way to use this place, then use it. You won't be regretting it! Thanks dude!

Unit measurements are significantly less than advertised. Came to see a 4x6 unit - most of it was 3x5 slightly more than 3 if you are creative where you measure. That's too much of a difference by any standard. I then asked to see next up advertised as 4x7. That one measures 4x6 but for $50 extra a month - price I could get a better unit some place else. I offered to pay the price they quoted on the phone for the 4x6 for that second unit they called 4x7 done it actually WAS 4x6 but the answer was no. I walked away. P.S. no access to the unit after 6 pm. is not a good selling point as it is but lying about the size should not be allowed.

I have been a Yaletown Customer since Jan. 2012, during that time I was abroad in Australia and I was able to communicate with them via email. I just had one of those days – you know, the one’s where life pulls the carpet from under your feet and you feel like crawling away and hiding somewhere for a month. The loss of a job and an impending move with two days’ notice required a lot of decision making on my part. A rejection for an apartment application set my flight and fight response off the scale. My first call to Storguard Self-Storage Yaletown, was initiated with a short conversation with Samy that took me off guard and put me momentarily at ease, regarding a last minute option to rent with no contracts and a discount on the first few months of storage. When things completely feel apart – with the help of a close friend, we arrived at Storguard and meet the face behind the voice – Samy! It’s hard to describe the positive experience because it simply defied all standards of great customer service. I’ve worked in F & B all my life and the efficient, friendly, REAL, down-to-earth approach, blew myself and my friend away. I’m not feeling so hot right now with what’s going on in my life – but Samy’s humor took my mind off “my troubles” for a brief moment. This storage facility is centrally located in downtown Vancouver in comparison with the other companies being outside of the city centre (and more expensive). Sammy was awesome to work with. When I first called in to reserve a space, I picked one that turned out to be too small. When I showed up with my U-haul, he knew exactly which size I needed before I moved anything, and switched my reservation over with no problems. He even helped me move in my heavy, almost-too-big-for-the-doorway couch! Any time I walked into the place, he immediately recognized me, knew my name and said hello. And when moving out, he even helped me move the last of my stuff into the car. The location is fantastic and in the center of Yaletown, the prices are reasonable, the storage areas were clean and looked painted not too long ago. The hallways were swept, well-lit, and I never saw a single bug. The place has two big service elevators and plenty of dolleys and carts to rent for a loonie deposit. If I ever need to store stuff again, I'll definitely come back!

Hey it is a storage facility not a hotel, that said Alfred/Gary are normal, as in not like Sammy who had to be everyone's bro in perpetuity. All I wanted to do was to put my stuff in storage, not do a fist pump always or have Sammy hit on my female friend. Alfred is innocuous and reliable+boring vs hyper, unbalanced and makes way more of the job than required Sammy. Amen the guy is gone, could hear him from everywhere when at my storage space ! Yaletown Mini itself however can be a proverbial gong show for parking and the storage trucks often block loading/access. Also sometimes there are domestic disputes played out within given it's transient nature, either that or just stressed out people divorcing. Honestly this facility should be somewhere else, hard to access at times and needs more accessible parking. South Vancouver is where I will be relocating my stuff down the road, less hassle and reliable accessible parking wanted. Price also keeps going up (should just sell my stuff), welcome to Vancouver and Yaletown ! Turn it into a hotel with a hipster bar at Cambie main side.

These guys do an excellent job. I stored some furniture with them for five months. They were helpful, transparent about pricing, not pushy, and flexible. The facility is clean, secure, and accessible with easy parking. Unless you have a larger truck I don’t think there is curb free loading but otherwise I would highly recommend storing stuff here. Storguard self storage, by a mile, has the absolute best customer service. Sammy who runs the place bends over backwards to help you in any way and provide a positive experience. I would highly recommend this storage to anyone and everyone. Two thumbs up guys, way to go!! I am all about the customer service, and this business nails it :)

This storage facility is very conveniently located downtown. Parking and the entrance is off Smithe, NOT Cambie St. They have large freight elevators and comparable prices to other storage facilities. Just note that there is no ramp to access the building. However, the guys who work here, particularly Alfred and Gary are super friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating. There are dollies available for use and you can have packages shipped here. There is also never a line of more than 1 person. Facilities are 100% secure. Highly recommended!

Excellent facility and top notch staff. After storing the the contents of a 1 bedroom apartment for over 12 months I unpacked everything in perfect condition. Occasional visits to the facility during that year were always efficient and courteous. The location was also very convenient - easy to access from downtown or the east-side. I'm very happy I chose Storeguard Yaletown.

Highly recommended! I looked for storage spaces in and around downtown, and checked a few websites. The Yaletown ministorage seemed to be the closest options. I called and spoke with Sammy. Everything else went as smoothly from there as it could. The price was very reasonable, Sammy was amazing, friendly and helpful, and the storage itself is very accessible and clean. Before getting there, he assessed how much stuff I had and recommended a size that turned to be the exact fit for what I had. He could have recommended a larger storage and I would have taken it.

Nice clean storage. Ridiculous price increase though. I've never seen rent go up by 75% at one time for anything. I would never consider storing here unless you are desperate or have lots of extra money.

If you don't need storage in the middle of downtown. Try some where else. By boyfriend has been a renter for atleast two years and doesn't have auto pay set up. I have helped him get stuff from there before and everything has been chill. On the thenth we received notice of positive test of covid and requesting for us to self isolate. We called to inform the staff that we wind be able to come in and pay on time but we will once we can come out of self isolation. Tho ever was working(September 12/2021 around noon) complained that that's the excuse they keep on getting. Offered to send in covid results. He said that he could have coma patients that could be paying, covid is no excuse. What ever employy that answered the phone has no regard for human life. (We could come in and give him the money he so desperately wants. But that would put the people we interact on the way there and the staff there at risk.)

I left some of my furniture in one of their medium size storage units for about six months, when I came in they were very helpful in helping me find the right fit for me, and then added a small discount. When I came to close my account Alfred was very kind and helped me through out the way. Even waiting for me to come back and get remaining of my furniture later during the day.
