I wouldn't give them even a star. This was the worst experience ever. The move was scheduled a week prior to a moving date on Saturday at noon. We had a pretty strict move in rules cos strata move in time is only till 4pm, this was a pretty small relocation, so 3 hours is enough. Here is where the fun begins. Everything packed and disassembled including bed and couch, and we are exited and happy just waiting for our movers. 20 minutes before noon the mover writes me and tells that they will be only at 1:15pm. That was not critical but I messaged him back and asked to be as early as possible. At noon I see his second message that says they will be only at 2pm and that I have to call the office ans ask for another crew because they are doing a big job. I couldn't reach the office, but to my surprise they called me on their own and, guess what, they said all cars are busy and they don't have anybody for us, and the only thing they can do is to reschedule for tomorrow. TOMORROW? SERIOUSLY? How I can reschedule for tomorrow if strata has 72 hours notice period before move in and where we have to sleep if everything disassembled? So, we end up looking for another company. Fortunately, we found a new movers, but we had to pay much higher rate and everything was in a rush, and of course we didn't finish till 4pm, so I assume we have to pay some fine now. Plus. instead of a happy and relaxed day it was a day full of stress. So, I wouldn't recommend this company at all. But, if you still decide to go then choose ONLY morning time. They definitely don't estimate the work appropriately cos how you can schedule a second job for the crew that have a big job in the morning. *** Reply to owner *** Lol, I am just curious now how many recent orders you failed if you can't even find it. Our office used Small Moves to put all of our office and storage locker items into a storage room in the same building. They arrived EARLY, which was amazing, and were very kind and patient when I let them know I still had a ways to go to get there. They were efficient, didn't complain, were very helpful, and put everything away so neatly. If you hire them, ask for Azzam! I highly recommend.

Not only was communicating with the receptionist challenging as she couldn't seem to hear me, but she didn't finalize my reservation even though we had confirmed it which I had recorded. She said management would contact me but hasn't. Now I'm stuck without a mover, book if you like to gamble.

The small moves guys dealt with all of it and absolutely none of our furniture was damaged. They worked hard and managed their time well. Not only did they hustle, they were economical too. I am so impressed with Small Moves, I totally recommend them.

Terrible experience with this company, despite booking a large truck with 3 movers and being very clear about the size of our move (1 bedroom condo + outdoor furniture) - they showed up with only 2 men and a small truck which didn't fit our move and took longer with only two men. We had to help the movers and make extra trips on our own to collect the stuff left behind. The crew were actually great, too bad their company sets them up for a bad experience. When I called to follow up, I was told "we're called Small Moves for a reason!" Great, but when we book with you and you know the size of our move, gladly accept the additional charges for the extra body because it always makes sense to us - that's your opportunity to suggest that perhaps you aren't the movers for a job of this size. I will not use or suggest this company.

Unable to move our treadmill AFTER they came to our house specifically to look at it and make sure they could. I clearly communicated four people were needed, and they sent three "because that is how they are setup". They were then resistant to offer a one hour discount for a job partially completed, and now tell me to find another option. Less than impressed.

TLDR: Small Moves seemed great but the actual moving experience was subpar, we believe we picked up bed bugs from their truck, and their follow-through was lacking. Pros: Service during the booking process was good. They were helpful and friendly over the phone and did their best to get us a booking at a busy time of the year. Pricing is very fair (they charge in 15-minute chunks, plus an initial fee for showing up) and their rates are good compared to many other local movers. One of the movers was pretty friendly and outgoing - and both of them worked hard during the move without any complaints. Cons: Movers broke some of our items. When we mentioned this, they became quite defensive and starting making excuses. Unfortunately, the basic insurance provided by the mover wouldn't cover the repairs (as it is based on weight, not on item value) so we weren't able to seek compensation. That said, the insurance policy was clearly laid out beforehand. It's just not very useful - so if you plan to move with them, I recommend taking the extra coverage, as items are likely to end up broken. Movers were smoking right before entering our building. Also, one of the two guys did not wear a mask. The company called us to inform us the day before our move that they were not requiring their employees to wear masks (note - this was Nov 1, so masks had not been mandated at the time). Regardless, I do wish the company was more proactive and had required their employees to wear masks, as they come in to various clients' homes and definitely were at risk of spreading COVID. Both of these were quite concerning to us, as my partner is in a higher risk group for COVID and deals with asthma and breathing issues. The move was surprisingly slow. The move took over five hours, so despite their good pricing, we did end up paying a fair bit more than we expected to. We were moving from a small 1 bedroom to a small 1 bedroom apartment only two blocks away, all our things were packed and disassembled ahead of time, and both buildings had elevators. They seemed to be working hard, so I feel like there was some lost efficiency in the process somewhere. This said - I don't know that other movers wouldn't have taken just as much time. It was just disappointing. Worst of all, we are quite confident that we picked up bed bugs from the moving truck. We lived in our previous apartment for a year with no signs or issues with bugs - and we moved into a brand new apartment building into a unit that had never been lived in before. Additionally, we have been very isolated due to the pandemic and the odds are very low that we could have picked bugs up from any other source. We've contacted the company about these issues and found their response to be lacking. The response we got was quite defensive and condescending. We clarified numerous times that we were not seeking any financial compensation but they consistently referred back to their insurance policies, re-explained what they could not do for us, re-explained that they weren't required to wear masks, and denied responsibility for the bugs (which is what I expected). The one issue they agreed with us on and did not attempt to defend was the smoking. They offered us a discount on future moving services, which we will not be taking advantage of, given our experiences. Overall my impression of Small Moves is that they have the potential to be a great option for you, assuming everything goes smoothly. If anything goes wrong (e.g. damaged items, issues with the movers, bed bugs, etc) you should expect them to focus on defending themselves and avoiding accountability. Even if you make it clear you aren't seeking financial compensation, you may receive condescending and unhelpful responses that seek to deflect responsibility.

I moved with Small Moves Vancouver in August and had a great experience all the way through the process from the call centre, where they are very friendly and accessible, to my move. They called the evening before to check-in which was great and my movers Said and Arturo were a few minutes early, which was very impressive. They were also professional. I have already recommended this company to someone in my office who is moving next month.

My crew was great! Three guys -Ryan, Mohammad and Oh oo, I forget the other fellas name but they were the best! Friendly, polite, fast and careful. I would recommend this company and would use this company again if I got the same crew. I would have given them a 5 star rating but some guy Shane called me at 10pm night before move, and said one of their trucks broke down and wondered if they could come at 7am instead of the scheduled 9am. I was in bed and raced to the phone. We talked and I said I wasn't impressed with the call and that they shouldn't make this our problem. He was somewhat rude or perhaps drunk I don't know. The next morning I called and spoke to Dean "the salesman" who said he didn't know of any "Shane" I confirmed the booking again for 9am w Dean. He was a little sharp with me. I think Ryan and his crew should start their own business moving. I didn't need the extra stress of that call and then the snotty salesman. At the end of the move I tipped the crew very well and was quite pleased with the way the move went because of these three guys being so efficient and friendly.

Really friendly crews and great service. I've moved with Small Moves 3 times and every time was quick and painless. One of those moves had the guys taking some extra time to rework an originally poorly loaded truck to make everything fit, but it was done quickly with no damage to any of my belongings.

Small Moves did a great job of our two part move. They arrived on time at the first location and loaded everything quickly. We arrived slightly ahead of schedule to load at the second location and were soon done there too. The final destination proved challenging as some furniture was really difficult to squeeze up the stairs. One item, a large couch, did not fit, but they were able to hoist it up to the balcony to bring it in that way. The extra hassles meant it took a little longer, but they didn't complain, and stuck around to get it all done. Thanks, great job.

My wife and I had used their services for 2 men to move our 1 bedroom apartment furniture from their truck into a 3 bedroom townhome. The two guys very absolutely professional, quick, and super timely. The rates are absolutely fantastic and I would use their services again anytime if I need to. The elevator in my 1 bedroom apartment building was tricky to move furniture in, however, the 2 guys disassembled and found a way to maneuver all my furniture. Keep it up guys!

Used these guys a few times before with excellent results. However this last move was no good. They ran much later than expected and busted my television. Tried to put in a claim and have received no response whatsoever. Been good, not sure what happened, will no longer be recommending them. *UPDATE* Firstly, The response from the owner is kind of odd seeing as I had stated in my review that they already had my claim for over a week at that point. Secondly they offered me $100 refund towards the purchase of another 'used' TV. Which is better than nothing but not by much considering it was a $900 TV. However the kicker was a form they asked me to sign to get the money. It asked me to remove any and all negative reviews. I told the representative I wouldn't be comfortable censoring myself and they responded by saying it doesn't say that. So I highlighted the text in their own form and sent it back unsigned saying to change this language. The representative apparently thought I signed it and responded saying they had forwarded my claim to accounting. I am currently waiting to see how long it takes them to notice. Been almost a week. *UPDATE* Never received any reply or any money so I guess they just don't care. I'll go with another moving company next time. *UPDATE* (last one!) So several weeks after the above update they finally transferred me the $100. I never did sign their release form. Apparently this event "slipped through the cracks" according to the last email.

A reasonably priced company with fairly good reviews, and a decent call centre. If you go with Small Moves, book the first job of the day, and read the review where the customer ended up with bed bugs after their move with this company. (I will be scouring my items once they are out of storage.) I didn't have as positive as an experience with Small Moves, but I think it might have been due to circumstances beyond their control. I was told that as the second move of the day, the movers would be at my place dependent on when they could finish the first job. (The weather was also awful the day of my move, so that probably hindered the service.) I was informed that the earliest the movers would be at my place was 12pm, but I thought realistically they would show at 2pm. The call centre staff was very friendly and polite; they called to confirm the job, and answered all my questions. On the day of they let me know that the movers were running late on the job previous to mine. They also informed me that if my assigned movers were running too late, they would dispatch another crew. Around 2:30 pm, I was informed that the crew assigned to me was coming in from Port Moody, and the move was taking longer than anticipated. They opted to send another crew in from "deep Surrey." The third crew was out sick. As I live in Richmond, I knew that realistically I would not be able to finish my move in one day. This presented an issue, as not only would the person who would be switching the elevator into Move mode would be off work before the movers arrived, but the storage facility I was moving my belongings in to closed at 6pm. The call centre agent (Zella?) gave me the option of leaving my belongings bolted in the truck overnight at their dispatch station, and resume the move the next day. With no other choice. I decided to do that. The movers arrived around 4pm, and were able to load up the truck reasonably quickly. They were pleasant enough, but did not introduce themselves, smelled like they had been smoking in the truck, and wore their masks below their noses. Thankfully the next day they arrived to the storage location five minutes early, and were able to fit everything into the storage container. (In hindsight, I should have opted to move to a bigger unit, as we could barely get the doors closed. I might be facing a few broken items when I go to unpack.) I'll be going with another moving company for the second part of my move. If I end up like the unfortunate person who most likely picked up bed bugs from this company, I know that I have no recourse with Small Moves.

Our move was small within the downtown area of Vancouver but we received as much care as with a large move with an expensive moving company. The guys were great! Very efficient, flexible and nice to deal with. I called the office several times to check with dispatch and every call was answered personally. Used them twice: great and never-use-again. The first was an amazing experience. They showed up ontime, unexpectedly brought protective blanket for furniture, and shrink wrappers dressers to keep the doors closed during transit. The second was a gong show. A different team showed up 90min late ("Be there in 5min", "Just around the corner", "Almost there", "Uh, we don't know where we are going..."), with a smaller truck than ordered, and without keys to their own box. Waited aother hour for them to get keys from the office, and discover the right truck was already booked elsewhere by now. The movers had no protective equipment, constantly knocked walls doing minor damage, and even destroyed a large lobby mirror at my new apartment. Their smaller truck couldn't fit my belongings, and they said I would have to pay double for them to do multiple trips (I declined, and made another 7 trips in my car). Six months later trying to settle my claim for the damage to the building mirror, they only pay a portion of the invoice because their mover "used to work in that field and thinks the bill is inflated".

I had an overall excellent experience with Small Moves. I moved my office across town - customer service asked me thorough questions to guage the volume and I rented frogboxes to simplify the move (which was easy because Small Moves gave me a discount code!). The two person team (Said and Nick) arrived on time, were clear with their communication, were courteous and chatty, handled all of my furniture with care and precision and drove safely to my new location. I had actually budgeted much more for the move and was pleasantly surprised by the final total. Would happily recommend them and will call on them again for my next move. Tips: - be fair with your furniture estimates, it helps the team be as accurate as possible. - pack it all up! Empty all the drawers and wrap your glass. - identify to the movers which pieces are most special, they will take extra care and use packing blankets.

I am very pleased with the move I had with Small Moves. The booking process was painless and easy, after the phone call I got an email with the written confirmation of the rate, time and the addresses. When it was time to pay, I paid the agreed rate, plus travel time for the movers (agreed upon beforehand as well), and no extra or hidden charges (like a stupid fuel surcharge other movers request). After the payment I received a receipt in the email right away. And yes - you can pay with the credit card and earn your points! The guys were careful with the stuff, nothing was damaged or misplaces, or anything. I'm sure going to use them again, for my next move. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that they were late 15 min, and it was the first move in the morning.

I used these guys to move a two bedroom apartment from Vancouver to Penticton. Right from the initial booking the staff were friendly, patient, knowledgeable & helpful. I went back and forth several times both by phone and email with the moving planner before everything was finalized as it was a busy weekend for moving and there were complications with dates, etc for my part. As we approached the moving date both the move planner and the mover were in touch with us to ensure everything went smoothly. When the movers arrived they were friendly, professional and took the time needed to move everything carefully. They arrived with everything they needed to move things safely - such as moving blankets, shrink wrap, and carts to move heavy furniture. Lastly, by our math the move costs were competitive with uHaul or anyone else we compared with. It was a very reasonable price considering the distance and the costs involved such as gas, accommodations, and mover's time.

Brenda on the phone was super helpful and detailed with setting up my 2-day move. And on the moving days, Anees and Azzam were absolutely fantastic. I was using movers for the first time in my life and Tristan w/Small Moves made it seamless and so easy! I will never go back. Right from the beginning when I was calling around for quotes Brenda and the other gentleman in the office (Dan? Dave?) were the only ones to ask me questions, give me tips and tricks on being prepared and answered my 1001 questions without batting an eyelash. It took away my nervousness and was fantastic customer service! The day of moving Tristan and is partner arrived and were nothing but professional, friendly and very careful with all my belongings. Shocked in how prepared I was not once did I hear a complaint or concern or grumble about having to take my couch down the 3 flights of stairs because it wouldn't fit in the elevator. Everything was done with a smile! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the team at Small Moves! It also came in way cheaper than I thought because I followed the tips and tricks I received from my initial phone call.

If they tell you, your booking is after another one the same day, better to be prepared for a long delay. I'll make a list of the reasons why I'm giving 1 star: 1. They were supposed to be in my place late in the morning, I was expecting noon, never happened. The fact that really brothers me is not that delay is the fact that they don't even call you or text you to update you of anything...AT ALL. 2. OK they are late, first moving of the day took longer, the company didn't bother giving us a heads up. Now, the guys called me directly at 3.15 pm, to let me know they will be in my place in 45 minutes, so, my husband and I started taking some stuff downstairs to make it easier. 1 hour and 45 minutes after, they haven't showed up, or even answered the phone after at least five calls and one text message. 3. Finally, they arrived at 5.00 pm. The guys were polite after they arrived, but the lack of communication in general is unacceptable, you're all day worried because you have any idea at what time are they coming, or even if they are going to show up. So never again with this company, thanks for your "services".

I had storage and condo stops, had 3 men and they worked very hard for 5 hours. They arrived on time and were very professional. I would use this company again as they went above and beyond, they wrapped fragile items like dresser, table, couch so they did not get damaged, I was not charged for this service. I was informed well in advance on charges and was confirmed a week before move for scheduled move.

The movers themselves were very friendly and took great effort to move a white leather sofa and expensive antique buffet. They were 30 min late which was a bit nerve-wracking for the people sending my furniture. The price was very good and I received the 10% discount for the Yelp mention of an ad. I've had some pretty scary past moving experiences and would definitely use small moves again.

The two employees who arrived were obviously very experienced with the procedures involved in moving. They were hard working and friendly. They arrived late because their previous job went longer than expected. My things were undamaged in the move. However, an unsightly scrape was left on the door of my old residence that I had to repair before I moved out for good. In general, I was satisfied with their service and the rates were good.

Getting the move planned was great. Went smoothly over the phone and the price was very competitive. The day of the move got a call confirming the address, time etc. The move was fine the guys worked hard and nothing got damaged. my only complaint was the truck they were using was covered with graffiti and did not look good, in fact as I was waiting for the movers in my lobby I saw this truck pull up and commented what a eyesore, lo and behold it was Small Moves vancouver. ironically I picked small moves vancouver having seen a truck in the area with phone number etc. This truck had nothing of the sort and was ugly.

This is my second time using Small Moves and they’ve always been a pleasure to deal with. The movers were on time and friendly/professional. The move took longer than expected but it was a hot day, which is understandable. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because one of the movers dropped a box, breaking the glass contents inside. He felt bad about it and was apologetic and the company offered to reimburse a portion of the loss. I’d use them again!

Our son was moving from Burnaby to Richmond, and didn't have a lot of furniture. We took a chance on Small Moves, and were happy that we did. Safio and Faraj kept us informed where they were before and during the move, and were efficient and professional loading the truck. They're also simply nice guys! I was surprised how quickly they made the trip from one location to the other! We barely arrived ahead of them by car. This is my second time moving with Small Moves and still equally as great! Their response time was fast when requesting a quote and move date, their rates are exceptional, and all details and policies are outlined over the phone and in email follow up too, and there's a confirmation call a couple days before confirming all address' and details of the move. Jordy called me and advised they were 15 mins away, and showed up in 15 mins, and at the very beginning of the half hour window. Jordy and his partner (I'm regretful I don't remember his name) were so super speedy and efficient, which I appreciate when billed an hourly rate. They were personable and checked in with me throughout the move. The new location didn't have an elevator, but they still got through the move in so quickly. I'm always happy to recommend small moves - the experience and attention to customer service is apparent from the first call to the very last box.

Transparent and very professional from the very beginning to the end: - They are one of the few movers who list their price on the website, and the only one without secret additional fees that you learn about when you call them - Easy to call and book - We moved from one bedroom apartment, prepacked [almost] everything in frog boxes, and loading/unloading took less than an hour. Fast and well priced. We moved offices about 2 blocks away and we were finished in 2.25 hours (plus 1 hour travel time). One of the movers was a bit annoying, but he worked fast and everything kept moving along.

Professional movers, arrived on time and per schedule. There was no unnecessary wastage of time in any way. Only (major) complain I have is the flat rate they apply for transportation before the movers show up. For example, my move was from the UPAK storage in Delta, a 30 min drive from downtown Vancouver. But they charged me 1.5 hours as a flat rate for the same. I would recommend if you have fragile items to move since they are very professional but not if you are also cost conscious. Also surprised they took a good 20 min longer to arrive at my residence after I arrived, even though I left 10 mins after they left from the pick up place!

Small moves moved furniture and boxes for me in a recent move and I was super disappointed by the service. I found the movers to be lacking energy and motivation and quite slow moving, one of them left to grab some food while the other kept moving my boxes by himself.. I needed to remind them about the mask mandatory policy of my building as one of the movers was using a balaclava as a mask and kept removing it, even while indoors. I was all ready to go upon their arrival and was actually bringing things myself directly to the truck. Definitely not what I expected as there were 2 guys and last time I hired movers there was only one guy who took less time, especially since I was only moving a small amount of stuff which I did not expect to take 3 hours.

I basically picked the first 3 Vancouver movers returned in a search. Small Moves called me back promptly and explained the rates and process clearly. After hearing back from the others, I went with Small Moves because they were $30 less per hour. The crew called me to tell me they were near by and available and wanted to know if we could start early. Sure! I was overwhelmed and stressed from packing and cleaning and just wanted it over with. They did a quick assessment and seemed pleased "this is a small move!" which eased some of my stress. They were quick and friendly considering I wasn't completely organized. I would highly recommend Small Moves and the crew I had in particular. It was less expensive than I expected too - always a plus!

The two employees who arrived were obviously very experienced with the procedures involved in moving. They were hard working and friendly. They arrived late because their previous job went longer than expected. My things were undamaged in the move. However, an unsightly scrape was left on the door of my old residence that I had to repair before I moved out for good. In general, I was satisfied with their service and the rates were good.

The lady I spoke to Brenda to book my 2 bedroom apartment move was very pleasant to talk to. Thank you Brenda for all your help and advice for my move, it was very appreciated. Also I must add the rate is probably the MOST reasonable out there and they don't hide anything from you, so there's no surprise fees or anything on move day. I moved from Metrotown area to Kitsilano. The day of the move, Magdi and his crew were fantastic. They were professional, quick, safe, clean and very efficient. The crew had all the equipment to keep your furniture secure (shrink wrap, dollies, blankets etc) I was over all very impressed with my whole experience. My room mate have had horrible experiences with other movers before. But everything went smoothly with Small Moves Vancouver. I would and WILL recommend them to anyone and everyone I know.

We waited too long to book and couldn't find a moving company to move our stuff. After some searching on Google, Small Moves Vancouver came up. I called them, not knowing what to expect. I found them to be very helpful, professional, and service oriented on the phone. So far so good, so I decided to book them and see how it was. The price was excellent - about $110/hr with 3 movers. I completely expected that the service would be slower since they charged by the hour, but the 3 guys that showed up at our place were on time, professional, courteous, AND they hustled! They were so fast, I was literally throwing extra things in boxes to see if they could take them as well. They were much better than the last moving company we hired. The crew was amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to book them again - in fact I will, as we will be moving again at the end of August. I hope they get more business from this review because they deserve it. We were thoroughly impressed.

***Don't hire those guys.*** They will tell you over the phone that they will come in 20 minutes, and they come in next hour. So if you will lock the lift and wait for them outside, prepare for cold. Also while moving my stuff they putted items in the lift so that some of them felt on button to close the lift and locked it. I was left with my stuff inside the lift and my move in deposit was putted on hold. I had to fight to get my deposit back while small movers didn't showed any initiative to solve this situation. Not mentioning about broken lamp, which I found some time later...

An absolute no! To start with, the agent did not explain the pricing properly and when I asked for clarification she was irritated. Furthermore, she made it sound as though they were so busy that I felt like I was trying to book an appointment for a medical surgery. I understand that it is a call centre but there should be a certain level of training and customer service provided. As a result, I felt that I was overcharged for a very small move. Secondly, there were bedbugs on the truck that hitchhiked into our home. Thankfully we caught the creeps and exterminated them early. The only positive was that the two movers were professional.

Anees was fantastic on the actual move - efficient and professional but mostly careful with our stuff and our building. Got the job done. Head guy tended to whine alot and seemed not willing to trouble shoot a simple fix to get the item into the door. His partner (who didnt whine and was great) and myself easily undid the rail in 2mins to allow the item to get into the door. I happily put it back together by myself. I also think they overcharged me. As I know it only took 15min on one end and maybe 20min on the other and I was charged for 1.5hours. I gave them this and a tip as I didnt want to deal with the whining anymore...And I was relieved it was delivered. I would use them again but I would hope not to get the same lead again and I would pay more attention to the time line and call them on it. The booking was very professional and overall went smoothly. If it wasnt for what I wrote above I would have given it a 5 star rating...

Office is Dishonest with fees. Double dipped on 2 hours of labor/travel. All of the extras cost nearly as much as the total hourly rate. Regarding your response below. You know that you charged "moving" and "travel" for the same hours of the day, meaning I paid you moving + travel, for the same 2 hours. This was not made clear, and charging twice for the same hour of the day is by definition double dipping. Terrible experience, and they should hire better personalities in the office.

Wow! Small Moves was absolutely fantastic. Their website is very detailed, outlined pricing & travel times thoroughly. I received a phone call from the office team quickly after emailing to set up the move date and she walked me through every step of the way, suggesting items we may want to include, things I hadn't even thought of (bikes, side tables, etc). Two days before the scheduled move, I received a followup phone call to go over specifics. The movers arrived on time and they were wonderful. Friendly and funny, and very respectful of items and the space (walls/door frames). They got right to it and didn't waste any time with unnecessary breaks. I would highly recommend Small Moves. They made a stressful event go seamlessly and I felt great about the entire experience.

I did not book this company but they ended up costing me an extra 200 dollars with my own moving company. They had booked the elevator to move from 9am to 12pm (before our 12pm to 3pm slot) but when I arrived at 1230 they were still moving with their truck blocking the moving bay for my move. Myself and the concierge asked them how much longer is it going to be and they kept saying 15 mins (while a huge pile of belongings sitting in their truck and I front of the elevator still waiting to be loaded). Finally about 90 minutes later (and repeatedly asking them to move because their slot was finished) they moved their truck. Because of their inefficient moving I had to pay my movers to sit and wait in the lobby until they had completed. I also noticed with their own moving there was not alot of care - they scratched up their side view mirror and truck badly while trying to back it into the moving bay. And was also very slow and inefficient with their own moving that the person who hired them had to step in and help.

It was an important move, moving a large, very expensive, piece of furniture from West Vancouver. The crew of two gave me a heads up and arrived on time. The furniture was well wrapped and any scuff marks were shown to me by James. His crew mate, Edward, was a careful driver and the move was accomplished without a problem. Thanks James and Edward. I arranged Small Moves Vancouver to move household effects from a home to a seniors residence. The movers phoned me well in advance on the morning of the move to confirm they were on route and give me an ETA. There were 2 movers, unfortunately the names have escape me, were excellent. They had all the household effects packed and loaded within a very short time, traveled to the seniors home and unloaded and delivered to the apartment all within a short mornings work. I would recommend and I will definitely myself use this company for future moves.

I hired this company to move me into an apartment building in February. When I booked, I was promised 2 movers and a truck at 9am on moving day. The lack of additional fees and minimum rate is what sold me, but beware - sometimes it's just worth it to pay the extra money. They showed up an hour and a half late, 1 of the 2 men who came was a mover and the other was a truck driver. My brother had to help the mover carry all the heavy furniture because the driver did next to nothing. At the end of the move, I made the mistake of paying even if I didn't receive the service I paid for. I called the company and left 2 voice messages, no response. 15 days later and I'm still irritated. I would give zero stars if I could.

I used Small Moves Vancouver for my move to my condo in the Westend in August 2011. I moved from a 15th floor high rise with an elevator to a ground level (stairway down) floor. The two workers brought a massive truck (who knew I had that much stuff!?) They were on time and very efficient in using tetris techniques with both the elevator and their truck. And they had to move some heavy things - I had a sofa couch, a queen bed and a (ok, yeah, it was old) tube television. The manager even stopped by to check things out as one of the workers was new, which I thought was great. The price was great - they gave me an excellent quote and it was well worth it than having to move myself. The only minus was they did double charge my visa - but a quick call to them and it was quickly reversed. It was an honest mistake and they apologized profusely. Would use them again in a heartbeat! I have recommended them to all my friends.

I would most certainly recommend these guys. My wife and I hired them last summer and had no issues. Nice guys, showed up on time, respected our stuff, didn't mess around and just got the job done. They even went out of their way a bit with putting a couple boxes aside and told us about what looked like evidence of mice (our stuff was coming out of storage after years of being there..), instead of just bringing all of our stuff inside and letting us deal with it. They showed the have a heart and cared enough to do the job the way it should be done. Plus they have good rates. I doubt you will find better, maybe equal, but not better.... so look no further. What a fiasco. Do not hire this company. They are terrible. They sent 2 movers instead of 3 for a big move. It took 9 hours and they broke a frame on a very expensive print. It cost me 300.00 to replace. Then I noticed my large Samsung television had scrape Mark's on the front. They lost 2 of our lamps as well. They charged 900.00 for the move and the TV and print and lamps cost 2000.00. They didn't even apologize. This was the second time I used them. 5 years ago they were great but not anymore. I had used their services back in June 2020 to move. The 2 men that were involved were very careless with our items and did not use any protective wrapping for our couch/table/chair. When moving the items into our place, they did not care for the items or the walls of the house and just moved it while denting walls and causing damage to our items. They were unprepared without tools to disassemble pieces needed and tried to force the item out the door instead of disassembling them. I am unsure what happened as the reviews on Google let me know this company was good. Again I am moving houses and I will not be choosing this company.

They were also very friendly and even though we ran into some problems of our own (no fault of theirs), they were super helpful in assisting us find some resolution even though they did not have to. I was moving from 1 bedroom apartment to a storage. They didn't wrap any of the furniture, especially with fabrics like a couch. I used other movers, and they wrapped my drawers, couch, even big mirrors with proper wrap and boxes, so it gets fully protected. And they finished so efficiently, but these guys didn't do anything except moving. Even I FOUND FOOT STEPS ALL OVER MY COUCH!!! HOW DISRESPECTFUL!! and my bed got super dirty. I wish I had more time to wrap my bed.. but They just dragged stuff around. And the young guy put light box at the bottom, and put heavy stuff on top and keep stacking up like that. I just don't recommend this movers. I moved many times and this's been the worst. I thought price was kind of decent, but they didn't have a huge bin (maybe size of 3 people can fit in) with wheels to carry small stuff all together. They suggested us to buy one. Who buys that! Movers should have it for their job.. I just don't understand these two guys. Especially young one. Anyways.. I think I am going to have to buy new bed. because it's literally so disgusting now to use it. To respond to the owner, I called and double checked, and Yes, I used your company, Small Moves. They moved my stuff, they were quick and gentle, and the crew I got was both professional and good natured. The move was ~2 bedrooms worth of heavy stuff (I have too many books and board games!!!), From Vancouver to the suburbs, and I used a third mover as recommended, and finished within 5 hours. They charge hourly - not flat rate - so be ready with everything packed for best value. There's no hidden or surprise fees; the only additional cost is travel time and they are very up-front about the details at booking time.

I hired Small Moves to help unload and load boxes + furniture. They were very professional, efficient, timely and careful with the items. I recommend hiring 3 folks if you're moving 1br or more worth or items - it will really save you some time. My move took 3.5hrs + travel time with 3 men and a truck. The movers arrived with padding blankets to pad the boxes and furniture, which was really helpful. Pricing is affordable - $95 for 2 men and a truck + fixed rate travel time. $40 for an additional person. 10/10 would use their service again

They moved my studio apartment furniture (which was a lot more volume than they expected) across town and into a 4 story walk-up building. A four story walk-up with a TON of doors! The team had the best attitude and saved me from having a terribly stressful move. They use an app to track the time - from start to finish - so that you know you are getting a fair rate and time for your move. The quoting and scheduling process was easy, friendly, and efficient, they show up on time, get it done, and keep their clients happy. I have recommended Small Moves Vancouver to my friends because I was so happy with their service and my friends that have used them were just as happy as me. Hire them for your next move! They make life easy!

I have enlisted Small Moves Vancouver for 3 moves in the last 5 years and had an excellent experience every single time. Price is fantastic, none of the moves went over $300 (before tip) The phone operators are always friendly when I call. I feel like there's one woman in particular I've dealt with who is always a delight to speak with on the phone, wish I could remember her name. She's been with them for awhile, so I know they'll know who I mean. The movers they've sent have always been friendly and efficient. My most recent move was my hardest because my new place doesn't have an elevator - didn't slow the guys down one bit. They huffed up 4 flights of stairs with my 1 bedroom worth of furniture and frogboxes and had the whole thing done (door to door) in 90 minutes - I was shocked. You can't get better than that at the price they charge! I even hired them to help a friend move and she raved about the experience. Will gladly book with them again and will always recommend them highly to anyone looking for movers. Consistently great experience.

We used a three man team for a move within Vancouver this week and they were really great! The price was $100 p/ hour for a three man crew, which seemed reasonable, and they worked very quickly and efficiently at loading and unloading. We had a very poor experience moving a 2 bedroom apartment. Small Moves Vancouver was: - Late - Left furniture behind (table and lamps) - Had no covers or protection for items in the pouring rain It was pouring rain (because it's Vancouver) and they did not cover the mattresses and did not wrap the paintings and artwork, and came over an hour late, missing the elevator time booked at the new place and charging for the extra time. Most critically, they LEFT BEHIND in the hallway of the move-out location a table, 3 lamps, as well as their own equipment. We are so lucky that the table and lamps weren't stolen before we got back! Small Moves did have another truck late the following day to pick up and deliver the table (free of charge, which is why this isn't a 1 star rating) but seriously, how do you leave behind your own dolly and a table? Definitely would not recommend anyone use this company.

This company showed up 45 minutes late and were very slow; so slow that despite my husband and I pitching in, we missed the move-in time at our new apartment and the elevators could no longer be locked for us. They got in a fight with a city worker outside our new place and cursed at her when she asked them to move their truck as they were no longer allowed to park there (because they were late). They also damaged the elevator at our previous apartment. They said that they would pay the $200 we were charged for the damage. When we asked for the money they said there was an emergency and that they would follow up with us soon. They never did and never got back to our subsequent emails. We ultimately were responsible for the money.

Update: They followed up on my experience very thoroughly, worked with me to accommodate the move I needed, and offered a 5% discount. NEVER USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Horrible experience moving just a few boxes. I was scheduled to move on Feb 2nd and I called Small Moves a week beforehand. They managed to schedule me in their words " from mid to late afternoon" and was told that the movers would contact me an hour before they arrived at least. When Feb 2nd arrived, I waited until 2pm and still didn't hear anything from them, so i called the office and they said they would text the movers for me. 5 mins later they called me, which is great, and they said they would arrive at 5pm latest. I waited until 5.15pm and still no call and no movers. I called the movers again and had the rudest response ever. The mover told me that he said he would call me when he was done and his tone screamed "don't call me again i'll call you when i'm ready". I was just calling as I had a time restraint but that rude response was really off putting, however I took it in stride. When they finally showed up slightly before 5.50/6 pm, I was told about how they had been working the whole day and that they were tired and many other excuses. The worst part was they had the gall to hurry me up, saying i was burning daylight and they hadn't been at my place for 5 mins. Extremely unprofessional. When they moved my stuff, i told them i would meet them downstairs in about 10 mins cause i had to pack just a few small things into my back pack. I kid you not, these people went downstairs, waited for about 3 mins, and then called me to tell me they wanted to leave now and that they were waiting for me to move. Their tone was so rude, i felt like they were blaming me for showing up late and that i was the reason i they had taken so long. Completely unprofessional and I will never ever use them again. TLDR: Extremely rude, blames you for their own scheduling issues and makes you feel like you're the cause of all their problems. NEVER USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

All in all I can definitely say that these guys worked hard! However there were a few issues. Booking the movers was easy sailing. Lovely girls on the other end of the line who explained everything and called the day before to check everything was on schedule and confirm the time and addresses (we were moving two apartments contents into one). On the day we were booked for 8:30am to allow the time. I had to be out of my old place by 1pm to allow the cleaners in. The guys arrived 1 1/2 hours late. I called the office when they were 30mins late and the lady there said she'd find out what was going on, it might just be traffic. The drivers did call but they took longer than they said. They were very apologetic, van oil leak. We helped them get the boxes into the van, we needed their help and expertise to get furniture out. They arrived after us at the new address even though we left after them in a taxi. Magically a desk and printer that wasn't ours was in there?! The guys were real troopers and got all of apartment 1's contents up the stairs. But they didn't seem to realise that there was another pick up! And we were cutting it fine. The 2nd pick up wasn't really helped by my many little bags of items but they got through it. They got lost on their way to the new address. We knew they were exhausted, but just tell us if you need a break! This move was fine except my dining table surface was dented twice and one dining chair had the surface plastic skimmed, it needs gluing down. Few heavy boxes were stacked on fragile ones and one coffee pot was smashed but I could be blamed for packing it wrong. Totally pointless having boxes saying 'this way up' because they were loaded on dollies every which way. We're really pleased we thought ahead and hired a car the night before which we filled with sentimental/valuable/expensive items. All in all I cannot fault how hard these guys worked, but it took them an hour longer than quoted, and the moving guys themselves thought we'd be finished by 11:30/12. We were done by 2. Luckily my cleaners were late so everything worked out in the end. I would use them for a couch pick up maybe or very small moves. Do not be deceived by the photos! They do not wear uniforms!

Pretty unimpressed with the move. I gave one operator all the information she needed, another operator emailed me a few days later asking the same questions, then another operator phoned me a few days later asking the same questions again. All that, and when the move happened, the movers were still missing details I had given Small Moves three times. The movers were two small guys that took four hours to move an ikea bed frame, a couch, a plush chair, four medium ikea bookshelves, two small paintings, and 10 pre packed boxes. They didn't wrap the paintings or my plush chair, despite it pouring rain outside. One of the paintings is damaged now. They damaged the walls in my new apartment and dragged the bookshelves along the floor despite being asked not to. This was my first time hiring movers, I assumed that I would receive professional service, but this was far from it

Had an excellent moving experience today with Small Movers! First time hiring a moving service and was not disappointed. Aaron and Leda were very efficient and professional and handled the challenge like champs. Found them on Google and submitted a quote online. Within a day I received a phone call from their booking rep and, after describing my moving needs, provided a quote. They worked with my schedule and were able to fit me into the day I needed. I received a phone call a few days before the move to confirm the plans. They also accommodated my request for the on-duty movers to contact me when they were an hour away. (I was meeting with my landlord the morning of the move and would not be at home.) The movers wore face masks whenever they were expected to throughout the move. Overall, the entire move went very well and began and ended with Aaron confirming the crew's start and end time on a phone app, which also handled payment by credit card. Highly recommended, A+++. Will very much hire Small Moves for my future moves.

I have mixed feelings about my experience. The person I interacted with to book my two moves was great, and the movers themselves really nice and hardworking guys. They did, though, end up breaking the glass top to a very expensive desk, and it turns out that the standard insurance this company provides only pays by *the kilogram* (?), and only $1.32 per kg, with a $250 deductible. That means they can break over 189 kgs (!) of your stuff without you receiving any compensation. That's a lot of, for instance, crystal glasses or artwork. Read the fine print, and keep this in mind when weighing the cost of a licensed service over just hiring some guys with a van on Craigslist. I'm now out of pocket almost $500 for the replacement top.

Small Movers Vancouver are not worth 1 star, worst moving experience, items broken and damaged, disrespectful to our belongings. Don't use Small Movers Vancouver. They have replied to our reviews requesting we leave personal information so they can respond as they take reviews seriously. If that was true they would deal with the emails we sent and refund our money. Receipt #1275-4373 should be enough detail. They arrived late, didn't listen to how we wanted things moved into, dragged some items instead of carrying them, broke table base because they stood on it to disassemble, put fragile items on the bottom of the moving van under heavier boxes (even after being shown and told about the fragile items and even though they were clearly marked FRAGILE), didn't pack the moving van properly resulting in not enough room for all items, broke art work that was packaged in bubble wrap and cardboard because they bent it around something in the moving van, rushed the job because they had to get to another one, didn't wrap furniture and shoved things into the moving van with zero care or concern about the items. Because they didn't pack things properly not all our things fit and when we asked them to move items and pack items properly we were told they couldn't because they had another move to go to and that it was our fault items didn't fit. We were under a time crunch to be out of the house and had no option but to leave items behind and and listed a lot online for free because they had to be moved out that day. We are out thousands of dollars due to lost furniture and damaged items. (the ones we inspected to date). Haven't unpacked items yet and am afraid to because am certain more will be damaged and broken as we unpack. Was overcharged for time and the amount was higher than quoted and was charged too much. Credit card company said they are aware of this company and I'm working to dispute the charges. Small Moves Vancouver has not refunded my money even though I have called and emailed numerous times about the issues with the movers. To date I have not received any help or compensation from Small Moves Vancouver. A full refund of the amount we were charged is significantly less than the damage and loss I have incurred by booking Small Moves Vancouver. Not only will we not be able to recoup our losses, we also had valuable and meaningful items broken and treated like garbage.

My gf and I had an terrible experience with this company on Oct 12. They accidentally gouged walls, scratched floors, and busted our 55" 4k TV. Once we started unpacking we discovered several items had minor damage, and our TV was smashed on one side. It looks like they tried to hide the damage by leaning the screen against the wall and covering it with a blanket. When I called the office Natalie kindly told me I was out of luck, but said there's a slim chance that we might qualify for an insurance claim: $1.36 for every kg of damaged material, with a $250 deductible... They insure the weight, not the inherent value of the goods. Its companies like this that give a bad name to movers. We're chalking this up as a (costly) learning experience, please do yourselves a favour and spend the extra 10% for a qualified moving company! Edit1: It was booked under my gf's name, first move of the morning from Van. To Port Moody. Edit2: Still no apology or contact of any kind from Small Moves, about 1 month after I posted the initial review.

I highly discourage anyone from using this service. Hopefully my reasons below will provide enough reasons why. The one good is that the initial call and the men who showed up were all very nice and friendly. The bad: The last moving service I hired (I wish I could have remembered there name) were so fast. They took care with everything. Pointed out everything that was a potential pre-damage, etc. Small moves did the work but IMO not fast, no questions asked, no care of the stuff they were moving. I had a king mattress that I provided a thick plastic cover for. I asked them to put it on and tape it. If they did not have tape I would provide. They acknowledged what was to be done and continued on their way. At the new apartment the mattress was the last thing to come in. Not taped, not fully covered. It was raining very bad this day. My 2 year old $2200 mattress was water logged on the end (dripping water) and extremely wet around all other sides. I made a claim with small moves only to have them reply well, it was raining and we take care. Lots of Care here folks. Stay away from them, they do not care past the phone call!

They charged me for an extra hour of moving (on-top of the one hour travelling fee). So instead of paying for 3-hours, we had to pay for 4-hours, even when I showed them the time they arrived until the time they were done (3pm-6pm). Not cool!! They did a decent job of moving, it took 3 hours to move our boxes from our one-bdr apartment into the U-PAK storage box right outside of our building. They also helped moved some boxes into our building storage room and apartment.

I have to say they made this out to be an easy move. I didn't have to life anything, and they were on time. HOWEVER. They don't mention how much "travel time" will be. They say a $50 minimum which seems more than reasonable, however when you move within the same area and charged $85 you wonder why? I called in to ask and she they told me based on distance. It blows my mind that I was able to walk to the location before my belongings arrived. When they called me for a follow up the sales manager was super rude and condicending. And for this I will NEVER use their services again. More or less I just want to know how the distance was charged so much and I was able to get there before them. Blows my mind. Way to take advantage of a customer.

Don't know if it was new employees or what but we just moved this past weekend and the guys literally dragged every piece of furniture down 3 flights of stairs hitting every one on the way down and breaking my dressers. They didn't even have carrying straps. I watched them drag my custom made mattress worth over 2grand over 10ft on the concrete in my back alley ripping the plastic protector, the sheet AND the protector beneath that. Then had to help them move it from the truck and into my new place up two flights of stairs for fear of them damaging it further. The guys even had the audacity to press me for more of a tip saying they only get paid 17$ an hour. Never will I ever recommend these guys to anyone. 600 bill for broken items and a bad taste in my mouth.

I'd give 0 stars if possible. I had called last minute to move some items from curb side that was to be delievered in 2 hours, they said they'd call back if they had availability and so they called back said they didn't and at this point my stuff had been delievered, he asked if I wanted an appointment for tomorrow and I say I can't wait and I'll find someone where the dispatcher commences to say he'll call the team again to see if they can make it in which I get a call at 3:30 saying they could be there at 5, they'll call 30 mins before. 5 rolls around, it's starts pouring rain on all my stuff and no call, call at 5:30 and am told 30 mins, 6....still nothing and my stuff is soaked through the boxes, call at 6:15 and am told 30 mins....6:45 still nothing so I had my boyfriend pay a homeless person instead, he even installed the couch legs. Money way better spent on people who weren't just trying to fit everyone in so they could make all the money possible. This was very expensive furniture and someone else probably DID have a team free, I understand it's last minute but there was no need to continuously lie. They came at 7:30 finally and decided to keep calling and calling (probably for the $50 travel fee) next time don't dick around clients. Not the right way to run a business.

Was the smoothest move ive had to date. They were on time, and were careful with our stuff. They wrapped all the furniture so there was no damage, and nothing left behind . I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. Enes and TJ were quick, no breaks. And they were also thoughtful enough to arrange the patio furniture outside instead of piling it up. As well , they moved our furniture around to where we wanted it on the inside.

I've never written a review before but I feel like I need to warn everyone about this company. I booked an early morning move at 8:30AM. I told the representative I need everything out of my apartment that day as I'm giving the keys back to the landlord the following day. The representative said no problem since I'm the first move of the day. The representative assured me that the movers will stay as long as required in order to get the job done. When it came down to the moving day, the driver didn't show up at 8:30AM. I didn't get any calls so I started to worry. I called the office at around 9:00AM and they left a message with the driver. Driver calls me at 10AM and says he's running late. Driver doesn't show up until 11:30AM. To make things worse, driver shows up with the wrong truck which was very small. Driver didn't apologise and said we'll have to work with what we got. Movers started moving my items. They were extremely clumsy and didn't seem like they cared about anything. I even caught the driver throwing a box which said 'fragile' on all sides into his truck. Literally throwing them into the vehicle. He saw me staring and simply smiled. When I questioned him about it, he completely denied doing it. Movers also damaged the walls in my apartment as well as the common area hallways. I found about 7-8 holes. Again, movers denied doing it. They were also very rude when I 'accused' them of doing it. I didn't feel comfortable at all. Lastly, the movers weren't able to get all of my items out because they had another job to go to. They took most of the small items out but left the big ones which I can't move myself. I told them about my conversation with the office and they said I should talk to them about it because it's not their problem. I was lost for words at that point. I got the impression the movers didn't like their job and wanted to finish everything up with the least amount of energy. I noticed that a lot of my fragile items broke during the move (lots of broken cups & dishes). I didn't notice this until I started unpacking. My TV also doesn't turn on and my computer monitor is cracked. Oh and if you didn't think things could get worse... They sent me a bill from 8:30AM onward (not 11:30AM). This is probably the worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire life.

Two guys. Extremely slow. Suddenly they speed up, probably more than twice, once I started going with them to the truck and back. Also very clumsy. They made a scratch on almost every furniture I have. They even broke some legs on some furniture. They were constantly bumping into a glass wall next to my building entrance. Luckily they didn't break the glass. Also, I asked some duck tape and some plastic wrap, they didn't have any of that. Moving company doesn't have those stuff?! Very unprofessional. On top of everything, very expensive. 8 hours for two bedroom apartment, and they didn't need to pack anything, only carry.

My movers were great. They were late even tho I was the first client of the day, (1.5 hours ) and broke a ceiling light but they were friendly. However the “supervisor” was a nightmare to deal with. Not the lady that answers the phone she was nice, whomever is higher up; is who I’m talking about. 1) no conformation/reminder call was given . I callled 3 days in advance to confirm. 2) I asked for 3 men. When I called I was told one was injured so only 2 could come— which is fair— but they only said that when I called. There the ones that was suppose to give a reminder call. Not me! It doesn’t matter if you WERE Gonna call. YOU DIDNT PERIOD! I called 3 days before the move. 3) there was no compensation. I paid the same price that everyone else did for 2 men. Regardless of the fact I asked for 3. I asked for a 10$ discount, and I was met with ignorance, lack of understanding, and spoken to very condescendingly. I will NOT be using them again. I have moved twice with this company and while they are quick and efficient, they are not careful with your stuff. A $500 lamp of mine was broken by them (my stuff was put into storage) and I didn’t notice until I was rearranging it last night! Who knows what else is broken. It was a super sturdy lamp so they obviously just stuck it in the truck without any sort of anchor and it clearly fell really hard and smashed some pieces off. I even had it padded but hard falls will still break padded stuff! Too bad, because I liked the company but I’m out $500 because all claims have to be in within 48 hours. Be careful if they’re taking stuff to storage for you as you won’t notice until it’s too late.

We just finished a move across downtown with Small Moves Vancouver I could not be happier with the service we received. Ahmad and David were quick, courteous and very professional. They actually arrived early and had to wait for us, but did not start charging us until we arrived and they started moving. They took great care with all of our items and still finished very quickly. At the end a clear and concise bill was presented, and there were no extra charges beyond what was quoted. I honestly can not believe that these were some of the most affordable movers available. We have had nightmare experiences in the past from other “highly rated, insured, etc” moving companies, and today was the opposite. The next time we move we will be calling Small Moves, and we will be asking for Ahmad and David by name.

We hired Small Moves to move a family of three a few blocks down the road from one single family home to another. The truck was the correct size and we hired three movers from the company to help us. They arrived on time. The movers were not prepared. The one dolly that they brought broke and they tossed it in our alley way and did not remove it at the end of the day. It's still there! Instead they borrowed our dolly, leaving us without a dolly for the day. In the end, a lot of boxes were loaded "by hand" without a dolly. They also didn't have enough supplies for wrapping furniture or protecting it. They set some of the furniture on our lawn without anything underneath it. The foreman was dismissive and on the initial walk through didn't listen to the information we were giving him. He said things like "we're professionals, we know how to load a truck." Well, if you were so professional, you'd at least hear us out. The crew was slow, often complaining about what a hard week they'd had. I understand that moving is hard physical labor. But it's not our fault that you've had a long week, and we're paying you hourly. One of the workers had terrible "customer service" skills, he made a number of inappropriate remarks throughout the day making us feel apologetic. The furniture was too dusty, the boxes too heavy, that we were forgetful about what needed loading. He even commented on our lifestyle (renters), which was completely unnecessary. Because we moved mid month, and had rented both properties for the entire month, we had already moved all of the odd shaped items, glass, and high value things like computers. All they had left was uniform boxes and furniture. This was an easy move. There is no reason that they had to be so slow and discourteous. I will never hire them again, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

The guy in the passenger seat moved so quickly that I think he caught her before she even had a chance to hit the ground. This all took place in Coquitlam at a very busy intersection on Pinetree. Truly terrible. I didn't really have scheduling issues like many of the other one star reviews, but I had many issues with the actual move and damage of/missing items. They damaged multiple items of furniture that they had wrapped in cling wrap for some reason (cling wrap is really only for things with drawers so they don't fall out) and it honestly doesn't look like they used padded blankets at all. I've included a photo of the gauges they took out of part of my bed frame (and when he put it back together, he tried to force it together which resulted in more damage to the bed frame and I had to tell him to stop as he took a gauge out of part of the leg), but they also damaged other areas of the bed frame (headboard/sides) and my dresser, and took out gauges of/scratched my dining table pretty extensively. I'm also missing multiple items that I still don't have. I've filed a complaint about both the missing items and the damage to my furniture and haven't heard back in almost 2 weeks since their initial response. This was my first time using movers and I can't say that I would use movers again after this experience (and I definitely wouldn't use this moving company). If you do decided to use movers, make sure that you watch them like a hawk and create an itemized list of what you are moving and any preexisting damage. Get them to sign off on it prior to the move and ensure that there is no damage afterwards and that all items are accounted for. EDIT: Just to respond to the company who is saying they can't find me in their system, I have email correspondence with them about my claim (which uses my last name) and a confirmation email for the move which also used my last name. I find it incredibly hard to believe that they can't find any record of me.

In response to the company post, I still haven’t received any feedback regarding my claim, damaged furniture, and the excessive cost charged. The worse moving company I’ve ever contracted. They’ve damaged literally all my furniture, and took 5 hours to move a simple one bedroom apartment that had everything packed and ready to go. No response from customer service at all! I don’t recommend, they should be out of the market.

After moving more times than the years i have lived in Vancouver, i finally decided to hire movers again after having a really bad experience with my first move 10 years ago. The whole experience from booking the movers, to the actual move its self couldn't have gone any smoother, and i couldnt be any more happy! I found that everyone i spoke with on the phone when i was booking and confirming the move was so nice and personable. They even went out of their way to text a mover to confirm if the time i need to move my stuff was ok with them, as it would be an evening move. The movers them self (Ryen and Evan) were the guys who moved me last Friday (June.24th/16). I was the last move of their day and could tell that they had a long day prior to my move. Both of the guys were professional, on time, extremely polite, patient (cuz im pretty useless), and worked so well together as a team to get the move done so fast! They worked so hard and i was impressed with how they handled my stuff as my move was not the easiest due to location. I couldn't have been happier and i am recommending this company to my work who will be needing movers in the near future and basically anyone i hear that needs to be moved! thank you!!!!!!

Movers were good and very helpful- especially since it was a holiday. The problem was they had not been told about the lack of elevator by the office and they should have had 1 more man- and since it was a holiday the office was closed and there was no way to get someone. The risers on the stairs were also too narrow for them to use their dolly so they had to carry everything down 2 flights. They were very tired by the time we finished and the move ended up costing twice the quote. Still they were very very helpful to me.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Small Moves. The movers are amateurs, not professionals and for a successful move, some of the skills that matter but were lacking. This was a relatively simple move within my building to put some things in storage during a renovation. I thought the first crew did a good job but when my things were moved back into my unit, I discovered that dining room chairs had been stored upside down resting on their wooden tops, unprotected, and were scuffed. Wood refinishing will be required. The second move started off OK although these two fellows, though prompt and courteous, didn't seem to have the skills necessary, despite their good intentions. Unfortunately for me, they damaged and scuffed my freshly finished stairwell walls in several places while trying to move an electric piano that the other crew had successfully moved. On the positive side, telephone contact with the scheduling people was very good and professional. The movers called a few minutes before their arrival, arrived on time and were courteous and tried hard. But ultimately, damage to chairs and walls are what I'm stuck with thanks to Small Moves. And to truly earn one star, despite repeated attempts at contact with the company via their designated email service on their website, I have had zero replies, ten days later. Bad business, Small Moves!

I had used Small Moves before with a good experience. I will never use them again after the most recent experience. The loading zone on a city street was in use but there was parking half a block down or across the road. Instead, they parked in such a way that they got ticketed and then proceeded to argue in a very inappropriate way with a female bylaw officer, going as far as to take photos of her. In this process, some of my boxes disappeared, some items were damaged and the move took two hours longer. I wrote my initial review 6 months ago. It took 3 months before I heard back from Small Moves and I see they replied to my post 4 months after the fact. Yes, they offered me an $85 refund ( I didnt accept it) but never actually apologized for the losses, damages or additional hours of cost due to their crew's actions.

I hired these guys to help me move a one bedroom apartments worth of furniture into my new place. The two guys who came out were total pros. (Shout out to Jordy and Marcello). They were extremely caring of my fragile stuff, but they were also extremely efficient, which I really believe saved me money since their service is paid hourly. They were friendly, they were courteous, they were to the point. They showed up on time ready to go. The whole thing was a breeze. On top of all of this - the price was extremely fair! If I had the help of a friend I could have rented my own truck and did all of the work and would have barely saved money. This is definitely the way to go and I will be hiring these guys again in the future!

The worst move I have ever had. The truck didn't show up until I was on the phone with the owner.. when they would pick up. They kept giving the phone to a different person and had no intention of helping me the truck showed up 7 hrs later and only had 1 guy to move my stuff. I ended up paying an extra $200 to keep the security guard and the elevator open in my new place... and then I was actually charged for the move?? Do not trust this company...right up until the day before they told me everything was on time and ready.

We used Small Moves yesterday to move my daughter from UBC to Boundary Bay. Said and his brother arrived at exactly 9:30 as had been agreed, and moved the items efficiently and with care. We travelled together to the final destination, and when they lost site of my car they would pull over and wait until I caught up. While unloading the truck they took the same care they had when loading it. We were very impressed by these 2 young men, and wanted to let the owners know that they are a real asset to the company. They broke my tv. I have an old 55 inch LG Lcd tv that is now sitting lifelesly in my spare room because the movers could not be bothered to care about my possessions. But since their insurance doesn't cover electronics I am screwed. There are white scuff marks on nearly every piece of furniture they moved, some could be buffed out, others I wasn't so lucky. The movers were an hour late which messed up the times we had scheduled for elevator use at both our old and current residence. They did not seem to be in any kind of hurry as they took longer to move me from Burnaby to Burnaby than the last move took me from Richmond to Burnaby. Steer clear of these guys. I hope you have a better moving day experience than I did.

This is the second time I used a moving company, and the first time I used Small Moves, and I will NEVER use another company for my moving needs. The first company I used a year ago was a nightmare, so I was very hesitant to try another company (professional movers are expensive, no matter who you hire). However, Small Moves' rates were among the best I could find, and the customer service I received while booking was wonderful, so that was a great start. Moodi and Mo were my team for my May 31st, 2021 move, and they were absolutely amazing; professional, fast, flexible, efficient, kind, and hilarious. They relieved so much of the pressure and stress of moving, both by their moving skills (they hustled SO hard, despite the heat), and their ability to keep things fun and light. today August 7th 2020, i called small moves vancouver and brenda answered the phone, and i advised her my mother passed away and i needed a electric scooter moved to another location and i advised there is a ramp for scooter to go down, even though she is on first floor, did she not understand english and was very rude, could of been more considerate, considering my mom passed away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its like wow, to bad a i had to put a star .. as they def dont deserve it, brenda take some customer service courses as you dont have any at all........

This was our second move with Small Moves (the first being about three years ago). Anass and Nas moved us this time. They were everything we could have asked for: punctual (literally on the doorstep to the minute), effective, kind, good-natured and hardworking. They wrapped up all our stuff with plastic to keep it safe. They managed to get our too-big couch through our too-small door problem with a door and had all the necessary tools on-hand. On the arrival end, they put everything exactly where I'd labelled it to go and checked in with the ones I failed to label. Really cannot say enough nice things about these two. Geoff at dispatch was helpful and responsive for us both times.

I had a grandfathers clock, which they put a cover over then wrapped in plastic to protect it. The two guys were very respectful, very good!!! They made a very stressful situation very easy.

I do not recommend this company at all. While you may get a slightly lower hourly rate than other similar companies, you get poor service. The movers damaged our elevator. After filing their prescribed claim form, we have yet to hear back from the "owner", despite following up 5 times by email and 2 times by phone. Small Moves will gladly pick up the call to book your move but don't expect them to handle any issue related to damaged goods or insurance - they make excuses that no one is available, they have no alternate phone number and no address. The movers also use saran wrap large items instead of covering them with moving blankets. As a result, some of our furniture sustained scratches It is a shady operation.

We hired this company just over one month in advance of our move. Our moving time was very specific (5pm) due to the circumstances of our possession date/time. We asked if this would be possible and they said, while they could not guarantee the start time (that's fine) that they could do it. When the person on the phone took all my information, I told them that we were moving an entire suite's worth of furniture (queen bed, 2 dressers, 2 desks, dining table, couch, miscellaneous furniture, boxes) into a one bedroom apatrment. Come moving day, the movers showed up with a 1 ton truck, utterly bewildered and confused why they were sent to us with a 1 ton truck instead of a 3 ton truck, which is what you need to move a whole suite's worth of furniture. Their job form listed all the things we said we had to move, so we called the admin. At first she agreed that the form had everything we were to move listed, but then she backtracked stating that we had said that we were moving one bedroom's worth of items from a suite into an apartment. My wife was in the room with me during the phone call and can corroborate that we said we were moving from the top floor suite of a house into an apartment. Furthermore, how can we possibly be just one bedroom in a house when we have a bed, two dressers, two desks, a couch, a dining table, and a full suite's worth of random furniture and boxes? In the end, the lady refused to accommodate us, saying they did not have any bigger trucks available and we ended up having to pay full tilt. We had to leave our couch behind because it wouldn't fit in the truck and approximately 80% of our boxes. My wife and I had to return the next day with a Uhaul to move the rest of it ourselves. This was the movers' 3rd move of the day and they were understandably tired. I do not fault them for the situation as they were just as annoyed as we were; however, since they were so tired from the rest of the day prior, they did a poor job moving our furniture. A lot of our tables/storage units/etc have dents and chips missing that definitely weren't there before. The company should not have booked our move so late in the day, and as their third move of the day, if it was going to put so much stress on the two guys moving that they would damage our things. Overall very unimpressed with this company and will never recommend them to anyone. We hired a company to make our move painless and it was the worst move I've had to date.

A really great experience from beginning to end. Their office made sure I stayed informed by both email and phone on the run up to the move itself. On the day of the move, the team were punctual and took the time to understand the full scope of the move before getting to work. The movers were all very friendly, professional and careful. It was amazing to see how quickly they could empty an apartment while still taking care to protect both the furniture and the building. Unloading at the other end was a breeze and the whole job was done in remarkably good time. Small Moves know how to turn a moving day into a nightmare. We had a move scheduled for Dec 30 from Vancouver to Coquitlam. There was snow fall during the night, and in the morning they called us that we need to find a storage locker in case they can't move us all the way. Then they called again letting us know that they are only cleaning their trucks and that they are running late. They also again mentioned that they will probably move us to a storage locker nearby only. Also 4 days before the actual move, they told us that all our stuff may not fit into their truck even thought I did tell them we are moving from a 1 bedroom, 750 sq ft apartment when I was booking the move. Luckily another company moved us on the same day without any issues. The road was clear and fine to drive. Also the snowfall was expected, so they should have warned us that they will not move us if there is snow. Especially if their posts on their fb page say that they work even in snow. Attached picture shows how misleading their advertisements are.

Unprofessional customer service, I do not recommend for people with any sort of time constraints. Booked 24 days in advance. They told me that they had a morning booking so the best time to book with them would be 2pm. They sent a confirmation email. I then booked my elevators in both buildings with the building managers, took time off of work, to find out over a week later that they are not sure when the movers will come "They could come at 1pm or later than 2pm". Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment with them. They will say that they are "transparent", which means you can "trust" how truthful they are. That maybe true, but what about being reliable? It feels as though they use "transparency" as an excuse for poor customer service.

I was extremely disappointed with the service we received for our move. I called 4 days before the date I had scheduled only to find out they had NOT BOOKED the CORRECT date. This was very stressful and a lot of work to revise our moving date. Even worse than the mistake was the fact that one of the service representatives tried to BLAME ME for their mistake and said that I should have checked my confirmation email to check that they had booked the date I requested. When I asked what they could do about this, the same representative said her hands were tied. Fortunately, they were able to book me a day earlier, at a later time, which took time for me to arrange with my new building and new landlord. I booked the elevator and security which was required at the new building and told the representative and confirmed the address for our new place. She must have missed this because the next day she called me to see if we could do the move at an earlier time that day, to which I said no, I couldn't and it had been very stressful to have to rebook everything at the last minute. In spite of all this, I was not offered any discount. The representative who'd made the mistake did appologize, for which I was grateful. The moving crew, when they did come were efficient, relatively friendly. I'd use this company again, except for the fact they made a big mistake with the moving date, which makes me never want to have to use them again!

Despite the delay in the start time (booked for between 8 - 8:30 am), because Akkram's co-worker was a no-show, all went well in the end. Can't tell you how much I appreciated Akkram's courtesy for calling me - with sincere apologies - as soon as he knew the move would get off to a later start. He also called several times to update me on. Akkram was wonderful. He was courteous, polite, and most of all, offered a calming reassurance to a stressed out client! Thanks to Akkram and his co-worker (also very polite) the move went well, from the time of the furniture pick-up at my friend's place in Surrey to delivery at my place in Burnaby, and it was all done in excellent time. I would definitely use Small Moves again (as would my friend in Surrey who was also impressed by the courtesy, politeness and efficiency of Akkram and his co-worker). I would give them a high recommendation. They were able to help out with short notice. Jose and Mohammed were my movers and they worked incredibly hard, and efficiently with good teamwork. The only one little downside was that we got started late in the afternoon. It would have been helpful to know that in planning my day. I was told by the dispatcher that they could not give me any idea ahead of time as to when they would arrive aside from it would be the second move of the day.

Mo and Jorge helped me move 9 foot couch and ottoman and did an amazing job! It didn't fit through the door so they had to move it through the back door window! Really creative, I wouldn't have tried that with my friends. They did a great job and I thought the price was fair! Would use them again.

Excellent! We used Small Moves to move from a 1-bed basement suite in Kitsilano to an apartment in the West End. They were friendly, and accomodating of our difficult moving schedule, and an immense help with disassembling and reassembling our bigger pieces of furniture. UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL My scheduled moving time was 12:30PM. I was told by Justin at dispatch that the driver would give me a call before my scheduled moving time in order to give me an ETA with respect of when they anticipate being at my place. I didn’t receive any calls from the driver. I left a few messages between 11:30AM to 12:30PM but did not receive a call back. I was able to connect with someone at head office shortly after 12:30PM who said they will reach out to the driver and ask him to call me. I didn’t hear from the driver until around 1:30PM. The driver, Michel, was rude and unfriendly. He said the elevators broke down at their first job and they’ve been walking up/down the stairs since they started early morning. He understood he had a scheduled appointment with me at 12:30PM but was not apologetic or sympathetic whatsoever. He simply told me he won’t be able to make it and suggested that I try to postpone my moving time to later in the afternoon. I asked him why he didn’t call me beforehand to tell me he was running late. I told him, as I told Justin at the time I booked the appointment, that the move-in time was assigned to me and there is a long waiting list because it’s a new building. If I missed my moving time, I’d have to wait a few weeks before I can get another one. To make things worse, I had to vacate my former apartment that day to the landlord. Michel didn’t care and even said ‘it is what it is – I can’t make it’. He told me to try to reschedule the moving time and call him back. I tried to reschedule but was unsuccessful. No surprise – Michel ignored my followup calls/messages. I spoke with Natalie after my attempts to reach Michel and explained my situation to her. She told me they can’t control what happens at prior job sites which is why they can’t guarantee moving times. I understand things happen but at least give someone the professional courtesy of letting them know you’re going to be late. Natalie understood the predicament the driver had put me in by not giving me any notice and said ‘that’s part of life’. Who treats their clients that way? Michel must’ve known well in advance of our scheduled moving time that he was going to be late (he had to be Downtown Vancouver by 12:30PM but was still in New Westminster at 1:30PM). Why didn’t he give me any notice? I could’ve found another moving company to help me out or rented a U-Haul to move everything myself. He probably wouldn’t have even called me if I didn’t reach out first. I ended up moving what I could and abandoned the rest. My landlord even took my damage deposit to offset the costs of removing the remaining items. This is the most unreliable and unprofessional company I have ever come across. DO NOT USE THEM.

I regret to contact small moves. Absolutely no customer support, assistance or service. The only sentence I've heard from this company is " we can not guarantee" . They can not guarantee time the truck will come, they can not guarantee if they will call you back etc. Basically the only good thing about this company is that they have hardworking front line staff , who also seems not happy with their management. IF you are going to book their service AFTERNOON please be ready that they can not guarantee what time they will come . IT could be 1pm or 6 pm , so plan it very carefully. NOt recommended for tight schedule. Good luck!

Small Moves is fantastic! I had a bit of a shock when the moving company I had originally booked fell through five days before my move. I called Small Moves Vancouver and they were brilliant and helped me out immensely. They were very kind, provided me with all of the information I needed and contacted me nearer to my moving date to confirm my booking. On moving day the guys did a great job and made my long day much easier. I highly recommend Small Moves Vancouver - they are thorough, reliable and I would definitely use them again! They are, by the far, the best choice when you need to move!
