The movers were excellent, they were polite and professional. They had all the correct equipment to move furniture unlike some other movers who have showed up and forgot their straps or extra blankets to wrap the furniture. There was plenty of communication with the office staff to make sure my move was confirmed for the correct date and time and they used modern technology for followed up communication.

I had a great experience during our move yesterday. I used another familiar local name moving company last year, and Mid-West was a superior experience (and ended up cheaper and faster). We moved a 2 bedroom apartment from a third floor walk-up in Oak Park to a high rise in the South Loop. All of our furniture survived the move without any issues. The team was polite and professional. I really recommend this company. Oh, also, they navigated crazy traffic because of an event going on next door to the new place.

When I’ve had an amazing experience, I think it's only right to leave a review. Mid-West Moving was hired by our company to move our office to a new location. Let me just say that I was blown away with the excellent customer service and level of professionalism the guys that showed up today had. Let me also say that these guys aren't your average run of the mill movers...they were top notch! Not only did they show up on time, but they were early. The lead supervisor Brandon made a point to find out who our director was, introduce his team, explain the move process and find out what each individual staffs needs were. He was also in constant communication with the Center Director about logistics the entire time. Brandon's team then proceeded to efficiently move us to our new location. The guys all had great attitudes. They were smiling and personable the entire time. They went above and beyond what was expected of them and granted every request we made...and we made a lot of requests! When the guys showed up to deliver my stuff I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but the three guys that came were so nice and friendly! Shawn seemed to be the main guy in charge and he walked me through the process as well as chatting with me as we got things sorted. They put down mats and other protective gear as well as put our bed and table together which we wouldn’t have been able to do right away. I was very pleased with how they did everything and would definitely recommend. My dog started getting antsy and they didn’t mind her one bit which is nice, but I also recognize not everyone likes dogs and I was lucky enough they did.

They were careful not to damage our houses by putting up cardboard, boards and blankets over floors, counters, walls and stairs. Last year, Mid-West Moving and Storage moved my elderly parents. My father was sick at the time and couldn't do any heavy lifting. Everything from Mid-West Moving and Storage Company was packed, including paintings and glass sculptures, as well as kitchen utensils, pans, plates, and gadgets, as well as all of their furniture. It was all delivered in wonderful shape, with no blemishes. After that, they unpacked it. I've heard horror stories of movers failing to show up on schedule and misplacing belongings in transportation.Mid-West Moving and Storage is the company that will get you there on schedule and in one piece, whether you're moving across town or across the country. I'll put them to use in my next move.

The company damaged my deep freezer and I’m two months in on waiting for a claim to go through, yet still no response. Do not use this company! We used them to move from Illinois to Florida. It took them over a month to bring us our stuff and they damaged 8800.00 worth of our items and tried to offer us 1500.00 for all the damages. They are a joke. They broke 2 TV's, Two large tool boxes, my treadmill, the list goes on and on. The better question was, is there anything they didn't break! Terrible customer service, never called me back when they said they would. Oh yeah and they gave me a wooden hand painted card table that isn't even mine. I tried to find the owner of it and Mid West moving said they don't know whose it is even with the tracking ticket on it! So someone is missing this nice table.

This is a horrible moving company! Do not trust them. They will damage multiple items and then treat you like you are bothering them. Movers were unprofessional, did not show up on time and used profanity on multiple occasions. Constantly took off masks while they were moving and started eating before my move was done. Mid-West Moving & Storage made the extremely stressful and difficult act of moving to Florida after 40 years in our home as pain free as possible. The team of Luis, DJ, Kyriel, Brett and the driver Cary all exceeded our expectations with their fast, careful and efficient hard work. Carys skill as a driver showed when he very carefully navigated a curvy tree lined gravel drive backwards with a semi off a busy road without brushing so much as a limb! Luis’s crew were very polite, professional and made all the heavy lifting look easy! Trust me, there was a lot of heavy lifting. They checked and double checked each space to make sure that nothing was missed. From first contact with Kari-Ann and then meeting Esther who provided us with the estimate, we had a million questions. I had some unique circumstances for my move which made it more difficult than average, but the Mid-West Moving and Storage team was able to work with me for those items. While planning the move, I got to work with a great moving coordinator, Paul, who gave excellent advice/guidance for moving, was clear with the expectations both of me and of Mid-West Moving and Storage, and even visited my apartment to do a quote. During the move, the team of movers were extremely professional. They were punctual in terms of arriving on time, easy to talk to, careful moving all of my furniture and boxes, able to work quickly, and even got the job done ahead of schedule with a final price lower than my original quote. Overall, I would recommend Mid-West Moving and Storage to anyone who is needing to move, especially if your situation is complex like mine.

I liked and trusted my mover. Unfortunately, one of my favorite paintings was ruined and despite the fact that I paid the movers to pack it, they claim I packed it and refused to take responsibility for the damage. My refrigerator was destroyed by the dolly the mover used. It ran fine until the mover put it on the dolly and started moving it down the driveway. One half way down the driveway it started pouring oil out the bottom. The movers claim it was old and they did not damage it. I paid for insurance and now am in a he said/she said situation. They did not send out an adjuster to look at the damage. The next step is hiring an arbitrator. An arbitrator cost $300 and the mover says I have to pay for him. I feel ripped off. I'm not sure if I'm better off in arbitration or if I'm just throwing more money away. I guess I'm lucky that the rest of my furniture arrived intact.

Dealing with this company is the worst moving experience and I have changed homes a few times, including continents. They packed my items and after storing them at their facility, everything delivered was broken or scratched. I am missing a few things as well. On the funny side, I’ve got delivered an extra TV - which I returned but who knows where it ended. Check the picture of the delivery truck - someone just thought those boxes will be fine and they don’t need to be secured, even if you cross half of the country. I never knew when my stuff will be delivered, I received an email only the night before the actual delivery. Zero planning! All the submitted claims got no answer and there is nobody getting in contact with me to explain to me the next steps or even to apologize. The delivery team also managed to damage a few things in the common area of my building - all documented. That hasn’t even been addressed, since apparently there are different companies in different cities. A month later, I had to make the repairs at my own cost. So I left one star just because zero stars cannot be given but most likely, this is what they deserve according to my experience. Overpriced poor quality, with no customer support unfortunately. Still waiting for someone to call me.

They organized the boxes and had no problem taking a few items to the basement for me. Excellent communication and asked questions to make sure I was satisfied. Did not leave a mess and offered to unravel a few items, that were double packed for Covid protection. Love the service and if need be, definitely will use again.

We hired midwest moving and storage to move our home from Deer Park, IL to Atlanta, GA. The movers damaged the staircase drywall (dings, scratches, etc.) and did not put any protective pads within the house in IL. Worse, they tossed around our furniture around like it was cheap (flipped upside down, moved along back, slammed onto their dollies...). They did not have any tools to take apart furniture (which wasn't an issue as I had all the tools they needed). They did not put any moving blankets or padding on the furniture when loading it into the truck but did so only after unloading it into their warehouse and reloading onto the second moving truck. This resulted in damage to multiple wood pieces of furniture (large chunk of wood taken out of a china hutch top, large scratches on dressers, deep gouges and a ripped off door from an antique hutch, deep scratches on our antique mahogany table, scratches to our leather sofa, took out a chunk of wood off our antique small desk, drag marks on our farm table which ripped off the finish, pushed a panel in on the entertainment, scratched the top of a wood filing cabinet). The truck they brought was too small and had to wait multiple hours for a second truck to finish loading our furniture. The initial window for delivery was delayed multiple days. The truck that National Van Lines used evidently had a whole on the roof and multiple boxes had water damage. It has been almost 30 days and National Van lines still says our mower, outdoor table, mower cart, and other items are in their warehouse with no shipment date in sight. Since there's still portions of our house undelivered, we cannot put in a damage claim and it takes forever to get into touch with National Van Lines for status updates. As an aside, for out of state moves, they didn't seem to be willing to interact after they loaded the furniture. I regret giving the movers a tip and deeply regret hiring this moving company.

Fantastic moving company!! Moved from a large high rise to a 3 story town home with no elevator. And you guessed it that we had the apartment on the top floors so everything needed to be walked up 2-3 flights of stairs. They handled it beautifully with no complaints! The experience was excellent from the quote all the way through to the last box being moved into our new apartment! Would highly recommend these guys for any of your moving needs!

I had a great experience. Wolf was the Supervisor coordinating all of the staff to get everything packed and moved. ALL of the guys were great, worked late, arrived early and really work very hard to get everything completed efficiently to meet our time frame. They took care to ensure our stuff was packed well for transport and able to arrive safe. Wolf went out of his way to ensure we had a good flow of communication.

Needed to move mom to senior community on short notice. Selected Mid-West because they were available at the time needed. They movers were FANTASTIC!! All furniture was carefully wrapped and efficiently carried from the old condo to the new apartment. Loose items (lamps, vacuum, ironing board) were appropriately boxed, moved and unpacked. The crew was friendly and helpful. When--hours after they left--I couldn't find an item, I called the crew lead directly. He called back within minutes and informed me the "missing" item had been carried in an opaque storage container I had yet to unpack. Sure enough, it was there.

First off I would like to say thank you to my move coordinator as I was treated kindly and professionally from first contact with Midwest Moving. I used Midwest Moving for my residential local apartment move as I family memeber of mine recommended them from their office move with them. The process of booking was very easy and painless. I got quoted quickly and set up an a time and date within minutes. As of Move day the crew contacted as they were on their way and were their right on time. For the first half hour or so the crew set up protective equipment and eyed what they’d be moving. The crew worked as a team (all three worked not just one or two) to get my job done effectively and efficiently.
