I wouldn't recommend their services, unless unpleasant surprises are your thing. Made arrangements with them about six weeks before the move. They received a down payment. I was told the pickup date would be on a Sunday and that they will comfirm the exact time on the day before. I did receive a call from them on Saturday to tell me that " other customers had more stuff than expected and we can not accommodate you any more" Needless to say it was hectic as my entire travel plans were now compromised. They did not offer an apology or any suggestion of compensation, saying that: That happens, we can not predict it. They offered to take my stuff to Toronto where it would stay until a truck become available there before moving it to its final destination( with no timeline commitment) and they "generously" offered to refund my security deposit( the one that they would have kept if I was to cancel last minute). They also contacted some other moving companies located in Gander, which was not helpful at all. The lack of responsibility ownership or sense of accountability was appalling.

May as well start at the beginning: got a number of quotes to shift from Ontario to Newfoundland. These folks initially were not the lowest quote, and I advised them I would use someone else. Jo Ann encouraged me to look deeper into reviews of some of the other companies out there before making a decision - SO glad I did! They sub-contract their moves, and MANY reviewers said that the price had increased substantially by the time their property reached them - and it had to be paid for before they would take anything off the truck. Unexpected expenses are part of any move, but this did not bode well. Went back to Five Star. And I was NOT sorry!! What you see is what you get. These folks are kind, patient, friendly and very professional in their work. Everything was well-wrapped and secured for the move - including our baby grand piano. You cannot go wrong with Five Star. Before getting tempted to take that cut-rate quote, do your research. Five Star ends up being more than competitive, they do the work themselves and they have a great team. Five Star deserves five stars!

They helped me create the necessary steps for my move, kept in touch at every stage, and did the job professionally. We used their services for packing and moving stuff from NL to Ontario. They are very quick to respond and give all the quotes but have very poor skills for packing ( especially for fragile items) EXCEPT for a gentlemen who packing a kitchen ( he is a real professional!). And delivery of our belongings was delayed for a couple weeks and even after all - 1 box with a plant was not delivered.... it stayed in the truck.. we were given a phone number for a driver to deal with . And it’s been 2 month: driver is not responding and there is no communication from head office. Such a sweet people to start business with at the beginning, but in the end they don’t care about customer. Do not recommend them for anyone who values their belongings.

Awesome, awesome, awesome movers! Joanne and Alf's team professionalism took the stress out of moving. We moved from ON to NL in June of this year and nothing was broken! They were on time for pick up and delivery and they let you know where they were along the way. Could not ask for a better mover! Will definitely recommend and use them again if the need ever arises!

Used 5 Star Movers a few times. Moved from Toronto to St. John's with everything that could fit from a 2 bedroom apartment. Everything arrived in the same condition I packed it. And now we are moving back to Toronto with this being phase 2 of 2. They are excellent and I don't even bother looking up other companies any more.

Five Star Moving were awesome! I got a super fast response and a great quote. They were very flexible in working with me on setting pick up / delivery times. All of my things arrived in perfect condition, and surprisingly quickly given that I moved across half of Canada! Super happy. If I do another long-distance move, I'll be hitting them up again.

Not very good. Had to help move in my own stuff as there were only 2 guys to move it in. It would of taken all day if I didn't help out. We also had to get one of our friends to help wave traffic as they were too imcompetent to park the trailer in the driveway For 6 hours mind you. Unbelievable!

Very professional service. The guys moved our stuff efficiently and carefully. Everything that was delicate was carefully wrapped in moving blankets. No damage to our goods whatsoever. When compared with other moving companies that offered the service from Newfoundland, Five Star Moving was by far the cheapest option. Responses from their head office were always very quick. I would definitely recommend this service.

Not only was Jo Ann the fastest person to respond to my quote inquiry, but she was also the most detailed with the costs associated with moving, as well as the process. She was friendly and professional, and always answered my e-mails. Her team was extremely fast and efficient when packing our things, and upon delivery everything was in perfect order and unloaded equally as fast. There were no hidden costs and we paid exactly what we were quoted. I will absolutely use their services in the future.

Just wanted to convey our families' appreciation for the excellent job your company did in relocating my mother's belongings to Corner Brook Newfoundland from Trenton, Ontario. With no immediate family in her vicinity it was a tremendous effort for our family to arrange for the packing and moving of her things. I have to say your constant and prompt communication whenever we had questions via email (over 40 lol), the updates of the trucks location, the ferry crossings and delivery schedule were excellent. On the Ontario side of the move pick up went perfectly even with short delay due to issues outside your control. We had already booked a flight for mom so she couldn't be there when your team members arrived but they were very organized and professional. Everything went flawlessly. On the Newfoundland leg of the move your company kept in contact with updates on timelines for arrival and delivery and that was also completed without incident. My mother was very impressed with the care and effort your team took with the safe delivery of her belongings. As an added bonus the total cost came in lower than the quoted price. In closing our family would like to sincerely thank you for making a stressful situation for our mother effortless. We will recommend 5 Star Moving to anyone who asks. Thank You The Gillams

The worst company ever . Im a company based in ALBERTA We do mostly local jobs and never outside east of Saskatchewan I was trying to give then jobs in the past and they never answered there phone for days. And these guys were so rude to me because I called saying a customer tryed to rent a UHAUL and was quoted 2400 $ Edmonton to Hamilton Ontario Then the price jumped to 4000 $ from Edmonton to Hamilton Ontario and they didn't have much money and could only afford 6500 $ (that's UHAUL fault) I was suggesting we could put stuff into storage for FIVESTAR moving and they can speak and deal with customer who was in a bad spot ( we didn't want any commission, we just wanted to help customer who is retired and in a bad situation). FIVE Star moving then, told me to piss off and hung up on me. I work with lots of different companies but this 1 is the most terible people to talk and to do business with. I feel so insulted that I came to them trying to give work 3 times and they told me to piss off in there east coast voices. Especially when I wasn't looking for any commission, just trying to help a ritired couple. Not only did they kiss away 6500 $ But lost lots of respect from me, but I will tell everybody I know in this moving business that they are TERRIBLE people. Then they phoned me blocked call and started insulting me as a professional again I wish I can some how take the messege from my answering machine and post it on here. I give them 0 / 100 I want nothing to do with them especially when I was trying to give them jobs with no commission. OMG !!!!!
