My boyfriend and I rented a U-Haul truck to make switching our apartments easier and down to a single trip. When we arrived to pick up our rental, we stood in line for about a half hour despite being the next customers to be assisted. A disgruntled woman in front of us was having issues picking up her U-Haul truck, and it did not seem like the company was overly concerned or interested in resolving her issue. There was only one employee staffed, and a second employee was in-training. We noticed that the trainee was not paying attention to his superior, and seemed much more interested in his phone rather than his work. Regardless, when it was our turn to acquire our vehicle, we were greeted by a friendly employee and our pick-up went rather smoothly. However, we paid an additional fee to rent blankets and a dolly in order to make the move easier. The employee instructed the trainee to obtain the items and place them into the rental truck before we depart. Unfortunately, we were surprised to find that the dolly and blankets were missing when we arrived at our destination. We called the location and were offered a refund, as there was nothing much else they could do. This mistake significantly made our moving day much more difficult and exhausting. I guess that's what happens when your trainee is too busy texting on the job. The vehicle itself was clean and seemed well-maintained. The final price was reasonable, but we remained within Saskatoon the entire day. I'm not sure how costly it is to move outside city limits, or to a destination that's more remote. We'd likely rent from another company next time we plan on moving. Unfortunately, U-Haul didn't leave us with a lasting first impression.

Staff were super helpful and friendly. There was a minor issue with my reservation, but the staff quickly fixed it and explained why it changed (the website shows American and Canadian vehicles and services, not all options are available in Canada though). Pickup and drop off were fast and easy. No issues at all. I would highly recommend U-Haul to anyone who's moving and doing it themselves.

Booked a Uhaul for this Friday on July 11th. Just received a phone call that the truck I booked is not actually available. I had a phone conversation with one of the representatives on July 11th who confirmed that I had a truck on the 31st for 10 hours. Instead they called today and I only have it for 7 hours, if they had informed me of that when I originally booked I would have booked with a different company. When the representative called me today she was not polite about the situation at all and wouldn’t give me an explanation as to why my reservation got changed so last minute. I am so disappointed in this company and they have added so much unnecessary stress onto me and my family.

Waited in line for 45min. on a Sat. morning there was only one lady working. At one point she was outside with a customer for 15 min. Meanwhile the line of people had grown to about 15 persons inside the store. The phone was ringing constantly the whole time with nobody to answer it. The entire experience was unacceptable and utterly ridiculous. I felt sorry for the girl who had to handle working alone.

If I could give them 0 star I would. Booked truck on 21st, confirmed on 30th truck is going to be ready, came today and they are telling me I booked van. The girl on counter basically told me you either take van or cancel reservation. Unbelievable lack of customer service. Now I know why they have such a low google reviews score. Poor service. They had new employees who don’t know the rules of the company properly. They passed wrong information about rental contact. Even the manager talked was rude. Will never recommend to anyone. Specially this branch. Useless. How the manager can say “ oh my employees are new and not aware of system” Really bad experience.

Booked a trailer to move 2 weeks ahead of time and they called one day before the move to tell me the closest trailer they had was 3 hours away. This has happened twice now. Book with uhaul if you like last minute cancellations that leave you scrambling

Outside of the usual issues of renting a Uhaul, this location overcharged me, after the fact, for furniture pads and a dolly that I never rented. The fact that they added these charges after I returned the vehicle makes me question whether this was incompetence or intentional. I would have been willing to accept it as an honest mistake if they had made an effort to resolve the problem for me. Unfortunately their idea of customer service is to complain about Uhaul's system and then give you the customer service number. If you use this location keep an eye on your bill for overcharges and expect poor customer service.

Amazing service! We had rented a Ubox on Sunday the 21 Jun to store and deliver some of our items. These three guys who were working on the evening shift went above and beyond to help us with everything they can, even though we were not able to load everything by their closing time they stayed back extra time giving us more time to load. Summary: Watch out for the Gotchas!!! Mixed experience: On one hand, they had good availability of quality equipment. The price seemed reasonable. The customer service was genial, yet: a) UHaul advertised smooth vans. Well, did not seem like that to me, but I'm not an experienced trucker; b) the manager promised $46 back if tank was higher than when we left. Later, he denied having made that statement, and, U-Haul never gives refunds. Note that he did get us into a lower priced option at the outset. So, maybe a misunderstanding? I thought so until he said he never made such an offer.

Rude and unhelpful, there website does not match prices in store, they also don't have any stock in for vechiales. Extermly unprofessional and business wise seems like they don't care for there employees or Canada needs. I imagine it's a systematic probelm that stems from the main corpration of u haul and by that affecting how helpful the employees are and how unorganized the bussiness is

Called here to get prices out of curiosity. The person ended up swearing at me, used the F word. It was unreal! They wouldn't talk to me without me giving up my full name, phone number and address. Wouldn't even answer my question of when they are open until I gave them that. It was incredible when I refused they just swore at me and hung up.

If you have the luxury of going somewhere else, or can afford to avoid them at the end of the month do it. Too few staff and a computer system that can't handle a week of work a month lead to lineups out the door regularly.

U-Haul is trying to go hi-tech phone self-service but some locations use but others don't. Need help? Expect long wait times. My U-Haul app screen (with agreed to changes) did not even match the drop-off location's screen? Sad. *Pick up vehicle early? "No problem!" however, the computer will also change your return time! With no regard to any verbal agreements. Simple moves in the same city likely work best. One way town to city (or vice versa) more troublesome. *Remember: You think you are reserving actual equipment but you are only submitting a request. They will try to meet your request as best they can, but when they call the day before, they know you have few options. The people are friendly but U-Haul reminds me of bartering in Mexico. When you have no real competition you can do anything you like.

Do NOT, I repeat do NOT use this location!! If I could give this place and it's staff a 0 I would! Git there to get a 4×8 trailer, hooked up the lights and four ways wouldn't work on the trailer but signals and brake lights did. So they gave us a different trailer, same thing. Tried telling me it was a problem with my truck. I explained it wasn't a problem with my truck, JB tried to argue with me and at that point I was beyond angry considering I have to move my son back to Alberta and this guy was arguing with me. So I demanded my money back. They are very unprofessional, and some staff just don't know what they are doing. Warn others to NEVER use this location!!!!????????????????

The general manager named John Berry has an absolute attitude problem. He doesn’t take questions from customers and contradicts himself within 2 minutes about the reservations they have. Hated the experience because I was literally told to leave the property because I told him to his face that their customer service sucks. We called ahead of time to see if they had any car dolly's in stock. I was told yes we do. We get there not ten minutes later and are told they're all broken, and we are unable to rent one. Very poor service really disappointed we wasted our time going there.

Horrible mess up unfortunately. I rented a truck over a month ago. Truck wasn't there. This U-Haul rental was a waste of time and their employees were helpless to get another 26', yet nice people despite my anger, not their fault. What is the point of renting something when U-Haul can't keep their promises? A real fun rental this time around. Thankfully we got a small truck from them so we don't get totally messed up, I'm thankful for that.

Wow, that was lots of INCOMPETENCE! Why? The equipment I wanted to rent for a few hours did show available online. Location @ Millar Ave, Saskatoon. Before going inside I checked their equipment in the back outside. Two of the trailers I was looking for were sitting there. I went inside to do the booking as I needed a trailer for about 2hrs. The lady at the desk did serve a costumer by phone. A guy came and asked if he could help, so far, so good. I told him what I wanted to rent. He said that nothing is available. Then asked if I have a reservation. I told him that I don't have a reservation but saw two of these trailers sitting in the back. He said one is broke (can happen) and the other is reserved. Still: online it showed AVAILABLE. Not even the attempt to help, I left. Another location said they have a dolly available. I went there to rent it. After paperwork and payment was done, they did realize the dolly was not on the premises. Maybe stolen, maybe at another location. This guy was very helpful and called his Saskatoon Manager, who said, those are at Millar Ave and available. This helpful person called in at Millar Ave and got as well as I a pretty rude answer, that no trailers or dolly's are available at Millar Ave and got hung up.... I ended up hiring a local towing company, Brad's towing, that helped me out quick, friendly, competent and to a fair price, I payed 70 bucks! If U-Haul really wants to do something in costumer service, friendliness and competence... I as a manager there would have a position available! For me personally, considering U-Haul at Millar Ave is not going to happen again! And believe me, I will never ever make a referral!

This company must be too big to fail. In the past two years I’ve rented many trucks from U-haul. Finally after continuously bad service: my vehicle wasn’t ready, their payment system isn’t working, they forgot to charge tax on my online prepaid, the vehicle had a broken window... Ect Ect. I decided to post this review. F**k U-haul.

Give a second thought delivery here with a 53 feet trailer, they have have no space to back in if there are smaller u-haul trucks parked in between, they think its the same thing as driving 15/20 feet box truck. Customer service level 0, no respect towards delivery drivers

Over promise under delive! Book a 26 foot then not availble swited me to a 15 foot with a 4x8 trailer same price 3 feet less space, ok get there no truck so switch me again to a 10 foot truck 5x8 trailer 8 feet less space tried to charge me the same as the original 26 ft. Told them isnt enouph space they didnt care, endes up having to came back and get another 5x8 trailer to pull behind my truck , still needed to jettison some stuff. As if moving isnt stressful enouph . My advise just burn everythig and start ver less expensive and way less greif.

This U-Haul location is a SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Avoid!! You have been warned. I should have listened to the reviews myself to stay away.. I booked and reserved (over the phone with a booking agent) for a 9' Cargo Van (use 23hrs and 650kms) the day before pick up. I was sent a text message reservation # with a link of the details and best price guarantee for $139.87 plus taxes. I even confirmed with the booking agent if this would be the for sure price I would be paying at the counter and the agent confirmed yes exactly what my reservation states. Now, the next day when picking up the 9' cargo van everything went sour! dealing with the lady at the counter. I gave her my phone # and reservation # and she now tells me her price is $289!!!! and keeps telling me that this is todays best rates and she can not change it. She continues to make up excuses for this higher rate and says she does not see the rate I was quoted on my reservation. I explained to her that I booked it for today Feb 20th and made my reservation the day before on Feb 19th and was sent my reservation # and price I was to pay $139.87 plus taxes not the $289 she came up with randomly. I showed her the reservation I was sent with the price I was guaranteed and she refused look into it any further or honor what the reservation states. Please see the attached screen shot images of my reservation and cancelation which also states the price I was supposed to have paid with U-haul on Millar Ave. ($139.87 plus taxes not the $289 the lady at the counter tried to SCAM me into.) I refused to pay that SCAM price this Millar Ave location has going on and went to another rental company which ended up working out for the better $67 taxes included for a bigger and newer 2020 Cargo van for 24hours with unlimited driving kms :)

Easy to rent a van but not as cheap as they say! Very disappointed that I brought back my rental a day early and still have to pay for the following day. NEVER USE THIS LOCATION .If I could give them a half star that would be better. I called the day before I was to pick up my U-Haul and confirmed it with them. The lady mentioned I was set up for the 24/7 pick up so it would be quick and easy. I showed up the day for pickup at 9:00 am- the app was not working. The place was to be open at 9 am, by 9:40 when there was still no workers yet to arrive I finally left and took my business else where. We even called the head office and was put on hold for over 20 minutes before giving up. When we left there was 5 others still waiting for someone to show up so they could get their U-haul. As well a moving company waiting to get into the storage area.

They require your emergency contact to answer the phone while you’re picking up the equipment. If your contact is busy and doesn’t answer the phone then this U-haul will not rent to you. For the business owner: your staff needs to ASK the customer before they call to verify the emergency contact. You don’t know if the contact is a first responder on night shift, or the customer’s abusive spouse that doesn’t know about the rental, or some other situation.
