I espescially enjoy browsing here on a regular basis because the inventory changes fairly regularly and the prices are competitve. The merchandise variies from vintage glassware to large appliances and furniture. Theres also a section of locally crafted bedroom furniture. Love it!

I want to send a big shout out to Neil and the folks at City Second Hand. Not only did he send a very handy fellow from Moore's Appliance out to fix my dryer, but he put it on his account. I'm just glad the repairman found the problem: my dryer uses two power lines, so one of the breakers had to be re-set. So, hopefully it didn't cost too much. If and when I need any more furnishings or whatnot, I'll be sure to look to you, first.

City Secondhand Movers helped us move from Prince George to Courtenay, BC and did an excellent job. They were on time, on budget and did everything they promised. They were also very upfront about some minor damage that they caused to an old book shelf. Very professional. I would recommend City Secondhand to anyone.

I was very disappointed with this move. We gave them very specific instructions on where to put our furniture, and they did not even place it in the correct rooms! Beds were left dropped in the doorway in the living room, the fridge not in the kitchen and the one guy even tried to convince me that my wife told him to leave a table at the bottom of the stairs (anyone married here, will know she did not want it in the bottom of a stairway when it belongs in the room upstairs). When I got back from work my wife had just left on an errand. The guy said he was all done and everything put where my wife asked him. I trusted him. I even paid each mover a $50 tip on a visa statement. They left and I went in to find a disaster in the house. I called to talk to the manager 15 mins later and he said they had already cashed out and could not reimburse me my tip. No refund for incomplete work? I realize that much of this could have been avoided had I stood there and made certain they put each piece where it belonged (oh, and they did not put any legs back on any tables...I get to do that). So much of this is my fault for trusting them to do their jobs. My bad. I will not use them again. Poor product, and poor customer service. Buyer beware with these guys.

The owner Neil and his business partner are great guys. Just moving here and needing an oven, it was just one of those things where we bought one from them, they delivered and the oven wasn't working. They were quick to come make it right. They came back with a loaner and allowed us to select a new/used oven. Which works fantastic. They honor their appliances reliability sale. In businesses its all about how you handle and respond, these guys were awesome with no questions asked. Thanks guys for all the great help and making it right.

Went there expecting a good deal. Everything is overpriced and the owner was very rude. Tables in the 1000$ and up for used furniture . Won't budge on the price. She buys low and jacks the price sky high. Walking out the door she says I wonder why people don't buy her furniture. Gee I wonder why the old man always gave good deals. Also heard her on the phone buying off kijiji very low prices and she sells high .

Seems a little expensive for "second hand". Some stuff was reasonable for sure (dinnerware, dishes etc.), and most of the expensive stuff was brand new (furniture, bedroom sets), but still found it slightly over priced. Check it out though and see for yourself.

Neil is an idiot, hires federal parolees, doesn't take advice and thinks he's gods gift to the world. Over charges customers and under pays his employees. If you have a difference of opinion, he refuses service to the customer or fires his employees. The only thing Neil cares about, is himself and his wallet.

Had these guys over to my place to pick up a broken fridge and drop off a new one. The employees refused to take the old fridge because it was dirty, fair enough I guess, but I do take exception to the fact that one of them walked out the door with an expensive vaporizer I use for smoking cessation in his pocket. So I guess I could recommend these guys if you don't mind them stealing things from your home.

These guys are amazing. I would absolutely recommend city second hand to anyone needing movers. Fair prices for all they do for sure. They helped me move our entire 5 bedroom house as my husband was stuck working in camp. They were fast on time and did an over all amazing job. (I would also recommend having a couple good friends to help the job go by even faster). ????

These guys where amazing. They showed up on time, where professional, worked hard and efficiently. They took the beds and desk apart and put them back together at the other end. Didn't damage a thing. Our move ended up taking more than a full day and they showed up the next morning to finish without complaint. Will definitely use them again if we're crazy enough to move again!

The lady really rude on the phone, tried to set a time for them to pick up a couch, she refused before I even gave them the details, she didn't right anything down let alone listen to me first, tried to nice and hi how's your day, she complained about Been tired, this is the second time I was talked down by them, I've lots stuff out of there in the past, and still no special treatment, they want to deliver on there time, but won't listen to you first, for the particulars..never waste my time with these people again, they will go out of business for been rude to people and ridiculously expensive..

We had a quote at 110$ per hour for our basement suite to be packed up and moved and a piece of furniture retrieved from a few blocks over. The movers were relatively professional but at the end of the day the owner Neil barged into our new house and demanded 145$ per hour as opposed to the 110$ that had been agreed upon. The owner Neil was extremely rude and also unwilling to change from 145$ for many minutes saying he wasn't responsible for the quote and that he wouldn't lose money on the job. As we insisted that he hold true to his companies promise for a rate of 110$ per hour, he agreed, but said he would order his movers to leave the job unfinished. Eventually he was talked down to 135$ per hour for the whole day and to finish the job but as he had our credit information already we had little room to negotiate. The owner made the move an extremely upsetting experience and was wholely disrespectful. I caution anyone to not use his company as he in our experience is incapable of following through on our pre arranged agreement and was angry, actively threatening in his tone of voice and also in word.
