Loaders gave my wife grief about disassembling items which estimator said would be no problem. Unloader was a jackass who explained he had two rules - my guys never run, and never sweat. Brought no tools to reassemble and dumped our stuff as quickly as possible. Guys who came later that day to try and assemble some of the stuff the first guy ditched were alright. Many items damaged. From unload to claim settled took 3 months. Horrible experience.

I don't normally write reviews however I feel I needed to compliment the Westmount Moving team who handled my move from Orleans to Downtown this summer. Celia was so professional with the coordination and the movers worked diligently, despite the extremely hot weather. Hats off to the team, I would highly recommend using this company to anyone considering a move! Thanks!

Awful. Unloader was rude to me, told my wife he only listens to women when they're holding the clipboard. Showed up four hours late. Treated our stuff like garbage, damaged the walls and ceiling of our new house, ruined my wife's wedding dress. Broke all our floor lamps. Should I go on? They are lowest bidder for government contracts, and it shows. Save yourself the heartache. Edit/Update 2021: Ha! 6 years later they reply to my review and want me to contact their offices. Needless to say, a little late. I stand by my review from 6 years ago, perhaps the company has improved since then, but I will never forget when one of their loaders told my wife he only listens to women when they're holding the clipboard. The poor service we received back then has come to be family legend. I hope this ask for us to contact the offices indicates they are starting to care about the service they provide.

The movers were two people, a young man and an older man. The young man was polite, professional and hard-working. The older man was gruff, angry and didn't do anything but bark orders at the young man and shove boxes from the truck. I've moved a lot and never encountered a two-person moving team where one person does all the work and the other one just stands on the truck, barking orders and pushing boxes to the edge. A few items fell off the truck and broke right in front of them but they didn't acknowledge it to me or make a record of it. I had to do that at the end when I was signing off on the forms and not because they told me to. I did it because I noticed they hadn't and didn't even respond when I commented on the broken items. I've never experienced that before. Usually, movers make a point of recording anything they've broken. The company never got in touch with me about the broken items. I'm pretty sure that's inconsistent with United Movers standard practice. At the outset, the old man thrust a clipboard at me and started barking out numbers at me. He didn't take the time to give me instructions or anything. I'd never done the checklist when things are being moved off the truck so took a second to figure out what I was expected to do. He got impatient with me, as though I was supposed to know how to do his job inside and out. The young man explained what to do politely and efficiently. My belongings were being moved into storage lockers. The younger man (working on his own) was not very efficient about using the space. Fortunately, I'd over-estimated how much space I would need and rented two lockers but could have gone with one if the space had been used more efficiently. It is unfortunate because on the loading end, I had an excellent experience with the United Movers subsidiary. The Westbound Moving company was the only bad experience I've ever had with movers. All my complaints (e.g., broken belongings, poor use of space, etc.) would have been forgivable if the older man hadn't been so rude and unpleasant. I kept trying to tell myself that he just had an abrupt manner but it was more than that. My heart went out to the younger man because he was really working hard and has to spend his work days cooped up in a truck with that guy.

Left many items behind, many sealed boxes and totes were stolen (or lost by the movers some how) refused to open a claim, charged twice as much as their price quote, took 11 hours to move a one bedroom apt. of belongings that their quote said would be done in 3 hours... and the men took the truck and went for dinner while still on the clock. Men were rude, damaged brand new furniture still in the plastic wrap from the manufacturer, took grab bars and things off the wall that belonged to the rental unit and refused to return them, took a garbage shed that did not belong to us but dumped it in our yard any ways and left it there refusing to take it back to the rightful owners, broke PVC latices, left furniture behind, left food that was frozen out in the truck when they had promised to put it in last and take it out first...that never happened and over $1000.00 of food was destroyed. basically this was the move from hell. Avoid this company like the plague unless you want to be another victim like myself...AND, I'm in a wheel chair and have a terminal illness and this is how they treated me. just imagine what they'll do to you!

Due to timing issue with move in date, our moving company in Halifax transferred our furniture and effects to this company. It was not a good experience. We encountered a lot of damage to furniture, as well as to some of the boxes. Also some loose items were lost. Due to the lack of professionalism and experience of their staff we encountered additional damage to our antique furniture as they were moving our stuff in. Would not use this company again.

Don’t go with this company!!! The movers were late and didn’t finish until 2:30 AM! They put holes in my wall and tore things out of the wall while moving the furniture and when I called to complain no one cared and wouldn’t give me the number for corporate.

Very pleased with Westmount Moving for the pack and load of my home. The loading team lead by Tara was superb. They arrived on time and were very professional and efficient. They were very careful wrapping and packing and did a great job. The loading team of Peter, Dawson, and Jay were equally as professional. They were very hardworking and took great care as the loaded my things onto the truck. They were very carefully with my stuff and also very careful not to damage any walls as they moved. Additionally, all of my interactions with Fred, Belinda, and Kyle in the office were very smooth and professional. I would definitely use Canada Moving - Westmount Moving again. Thank you!!

If i could give 0, i would. I've moved a lot and never did i receive such incompetent service. I exchanged texts with one employee at least a month before, confirmed a few days before and the day before. Communication seemed fine until the day of. 2 people showed up an hour late and tried to charge me for it in the end! Everything was already packed, only needed to be loaded onto the truck. I don't know what game they were playing but they sure failed at Tetris! Moved very slow, charged me after hours (from 1pm to 5:30pm) when this move shouldn't have been more than 3 hours! And did 2 trips!!! I've moved with my 60 year old father for crying out loud and never took this long! Let's not forget the items they were leaving behind. I'm a single mother with a toddler, do you seriously think i appreciated this? They were not worth the money i spent.

Excellent experience with Westmount Moving! They were extremely professional on every level! I received top quality customer service from the office as well as from the movers that came to our location. We just had a small move, but were treated with the same respect as someone with a very large move. I would definitely recommend them and use them for our next move!

This was the worst experience. Avoid booking at all cost. Somehow they will find a way to misplace your belongings (for instance, maybe they will put two itemized stickers on one box), "forget to bring tools", take 3-4 times as long to move everything, show up late, won't know if you paid or not. It was painful to watch these two and we now have to do their job to put together all our furniture. I mean our last move with the same things took us 1 hr. We're still in shock. We've lost items that mean a lot to us. It started off with two people showing up late, and because they were unorganized, failed to document our payment or anything that was discussed in the month leading up to this move. They brought in items that weren't ours, made inappropriate comments about our place and it looked like they were really struggling with some items. Don't book them!

I had a good experience with some of the movers. They did forget covers for the matresses and had to compremise which lead to damages. There was a little too much damage done to my stuff for my taste. Can't say that the sale man was all that good, he did his job, hock, line, and sinker (or it is sucker). Its been over six months and still waiting for the claim to 100% finalized. Would I recommend to my friends and/or family, NO! Just not as good as I thought.

They failed to let me know I am charged from the time they leave the warehouse until the time they get back which resulted in almost $200 extra. Also they gave me a receipt for $940.25 and charged my credit card $955.51! Called and left a message to explain the extra charges. Also called my credit card company to let them know I am disputing the charge of Westmount moving don't fix it. Customers be ware, DO NOT USE WESTMOUNT MOVING.
