A long truck parked outside of our driveway without the neighbor informing us, and at one point the movers were very rude and insulted us even based on by laws we were asking for our right. make sure when you move be nice to the neighbors and inform them in advance before blocking their driveway.

Although we ended up not using a moving service at all and just rented a Uhaul, this was not because of Sheffield, who was one of many companies we contacted. We were impressed with their customer service and professionalism tbh, especially in comparison to some of the others out there. Our initial communications with them were easy and they were the only company who actually offered to have an agent come down and examine the contents of our flat in order to provide the most accurate quote. The gentlemen they sent was very knowledgeable and personable, and he got back to us with a detailed quote within 48 hours. Would recommend to those who are thinking of moving if they don't feel comfortable driving moving vans themselves!

My experience with Sheffield Moving is one that I hope anyone needing professional, well organized moving services in the GTA might consider. My wife and I needed movers to help us get all of our possessions from a 3 bedroom apartment in Toronto to a home in Port Hope. We had called 3 companies to provide quotes, and while Sheffield wasn't the cheapest (nor the most expensive) we were impressed that the representative who was the estimator for the move was professional, knowledgeable and thoroughly explained what we could expect on the day of our move. He made us feel as if our business was important and impressed us with his patience in answering all our questions. When the day came for the move (the first bitterly cold day this winter) the crew arrived on time, all of them took time to introduce themselves and from the moment they arrived they impressed us with their "can do" attitude and professional demeanor. During the four hour period of loading I did not see any one of the crew take a break, use their phones, much less speak or act in any way other than as well trained professionals. Only when the truck was packed (to the rafters-I don't think even a sheet of paper could have fit!) did the crew take a few minutes to pause before setting off to Port Hope. The same routine on the other end - even in the cold after the sun had set the crew worked with the same discipline and energy that they had during the load in. I have the utmost respect for the guys at Sheffield, especially our crew of Joe, Carlyle, Bill, Tony and Wycliffe - all of whom impressed me and reminded me that it pays to hire experienced professionals. We filled out a quote request online and were contacted pretty promptly by Pat Keaveney to arrange an appointment for an in-home consultation. He was polite and responsive and we set up a consultation time which was confirmed on the morning of the appointment. Barry Stibbard always supposed to provide the quote, and then he just never showed up. I contacted Mr. Keaveney when Mr. Stibbard was about an hour late, asking for an update and asking if we would need to reschedule. I never heard back. This was well within business hours (at about 1:30 pm), it’s now 4 days later, and they’ve ghosted. At this point, I guess that’s fair since I honestly wouldn’t expect them to show up on the day of my move, but it’s unprofessional enough that I feel it warrants a review. I rearranged work and school schedules to accommodate the consultation.

This was my first move from Toronto to Calgary, to be honest I was very nervous because I before hiring a moving company I look into the reviews and every moving company had so much bad reviews that I ended up on hiring the least bad reviews. I made a contract with Sheffield where the people was super friendly and attending all my questions all the time, very good experience, I have packed all except of the kitchen breakeables, Sheffield came to packed all the kitchen and glass breakables and every arrived to Calgary spotless, not even a wine glass broke, so very well packed!! Because I moved to another province they are using ALLIED as third party and I was scare about that, but my experience was wonderful. All the movers never scratch or broke anything for any of the houses, they arrived early than expected and even in Calgary they arrived before us !! Everything was perfect, I didnt have any problem, everybody was very nice and friendly, this was a good experience!! If I ever need to move again I will definitely go with them again !!

Used Sheffield to complete a move on June 5 2021. The whole crew expressed concerns and displayed care for the items being moved. Beyond that, they were extremely courteous and professional. The crew protected every surface, exercised caution around wall and doorways, and asked prior to leaving if everything was in the right spot, anything needed to be adjusted etc. I cannot recommend them enough for anyone contemplating using Sheffield Moving.

So we wanted to get a quote from these guys. The man that came by took forever to do an accurate quote. Said we would get the quote in form of email after the weekend. Weekend goes by, didn’t get it. Called them back to get only excuses. Found the email in my junk folder, sent two days after they said I would receive it. Nice that they got back to my review here. That being said they were the most expensive and the fact that the weren’t punctual was a red flag. The gentleman that did the quote was very knowledgeable. They were the front runner until they failed to deliver on punctuality.

Stress Free Long Distance Move. We moved from Brampton, Ontario to Sackville, New Brunswick. From the first call to Allied and our first encounter with Barry, who reviewed the contents of our house for the estimate, we had a very easy move! The crew in Ontario was exceptional and Dan, the driver - or bossman as I called him, was with us the entire way, more on him in a minute. They were on time on both ends, efficient, professional, took great care of our belongings and were extremely patient with harried clients, even when I called them back for "just one more thing!" or "oops, forgot about that...". I would recommend Sheffield Moving and Storage and in particular Dan, Barry, and Joy. All incredibly helpful. The crew in New Brunswick was equally incredible overcoming less than perfect moving conditions - riding/pushing 2 motorcycles up a 100 foot, snow and ice covered driveway was a sight to see. Did I mention it was the day after a nor'easter blew through! Dan went out of his way for us and delivered a missing patio box to our door within a couple of days and he was always with a smile and funny comment. Thanks to ALL for making this a relatively stress free relocation.

We were guided on how to pack up an entire house and once moving day came, their workers showed up right on time and had the entire house packed up and in their moving truck by mid afternoon. Sheffield handled my move from Ontario to BC in early June. I had three firms provide quotes . Keith from Sheffield did the most detailed quote and estimation of the weight . I felt confident his estimate was accurate . The actual cost was within a few dollars of the quote . On moving day the team arrived on time , did a great job packing my belongings . They were very efficient and courteous . Within a week my load arrived in BC . Incredible service. Our move could not have gone smoother and it was thanks to the hard work of Sheffield. They were prompt and treated my things gently as if they were their own. On the move in side, they put together beds, tables etc so that we had a comfortable place to sleep the first night. We moved into a three story house built in the 1800's and they went up and down those narrow stairs so many times, but had taken great care to protect the walls, etc so that absolutely no damage was done. They really went above and beyond, I cannot say enough.

I want to thank Sheffield Moving and Storage Inc. for their help with our moves in November/21 and January /22. It was our first move in 40 years. David came out to walk us through the moving process. The staff were very understanding of the emotions attached to any move. We had to store a lot of our furniture in November for staging purposes. All the staff was courteous and helpful especially since some of the furniture that was to be used in the staging process had to be reallocated to other rooms in the house. They never complained and just treated the task as part of their job. Sheffield took care of our furniture in storage until the BIG move in January when we left Toronto. Upon arrival at our new destination, the staff laid drop clothes and sheets everywhere to protect the new hardwood floors and walls. They reassembled our beds and made sure that all furniture had protective padding before moving it into place. We had a very great experience with our move and would recommend using Sheffield Moving and Storage Inc. to help with a stress free move.

David and his team of packers and movers made life so easy. Working full time and having a pregnant wife, packing seemed like a daunting task. David was so helpful when it came to setting up the move and when their team of movers showed up on the day of I was blown away by how kind, courteous and efficient they were. Dave did a thorough review of our needs and provided a written estimate for our moving and storage. He went further and allowed us to donate some furniture to the furniture bank at half the cost they wanted. Joe and his crew arrived within minutes of their scheduled time. They covered my front door and stairs to protect them. They were courteous, professional and took real care of our possessions. They were cautious with ensuring no damage to our house and contents. Bill, Carl and sadly I can’t remember the fourth chaps name, asked questions to ensure they were moving the right item and which was to be stored and which was to be donated. All items were marked with stickers to ensure we get the right items back out of storage when they return our items in a few months post renovation of the house. Highly recommended to use these guys. Would give them a lower rating but that is not possible. Crew were very personable but when I started to unpack, i noticed that the inside of my antique armoire was destroyed. TV's, computers and printers (which they packed) were all missing cables so could not be set up. Shelves were not put back in cabinets and difficult to find plus there was missing hardware for the shelves, outside umbrella for table unable to reassemble because parts were missing and the list goes on and on. When I spoke to David Novak who looked after my account, he was impatient and had absolutely no interest in the issues i described. I guess once they have your money, you are no longer important to them.

They came to me and walked through my place to get to know exactly what was being moved and gave me a very precise estimate. After approx. 2 months of planning, confirmation and the anticipation of our move, with assurances provided their firm's "top crew" (previously Tippet-Richardson) would again be handling our move, who showed up over ONE HOUR late were 3 worn out looking elderly men I wouldn't trust for free. When I objected and reiterated the promises made, along with our stipulation of ultimate care for what is new and rather very expensive furniture, the leader on the 3 said, if you'd like we can always leave. I said, maybe you should. With that they turned and walked away, leaving us standing in the doorway. Shock, dismay, anger, resentment and betrayal. That's our review of Sheffield Moving and Storage.
