I downsized from my 3000 sq ft home to a 1300 sq ft condo over 3 years ago. I had let many items go at that time but still felt overwhelmed and crowded by the furniture and clutter in the new place and especially annoyed that I was also spending $200 per month at an offsite storage locker to contain the overflow. On a tour of a potential retirement home, I was referred to the Happy Nest for assistance with my downsizing. Jaclynn teamed me up with Karla who was a perfect match for me. I had decided to tackle my problem in 3 stages — first the storage locker, secondly the clutter in the condo and lastly at some later date to prepare the condo for sale in advance of moving to a retirement home. Karla was personable, practical and task-driven. She kept me and my fiancé focussed on emptying everything out of the storage locker and was compassionate but firm when I had trouble letting some things go. She organized the sale of many items and dealt directly with prospective purchasers so that I didn’t have to. I was surprised by the weight that was lifted off my shoulders by simply (finally) dealing with the storage locker. It inspired me to go ahead and deal with much of the clutter in the condo by myself! I am proud to say that I now have a room that guests can actually sleep in and I have sold some of my larger furniture so that my condo feels more like home. It is still a work in progress but I am confident that I will meet my downsizing goals and look forward to using Happy Nest again when I am ready to move on to the next stage.

How is it possible to move a elderly, cognitively relative during Covid when none of her relatives live within a airplane flight? You call the Happy Nest. It was hard to realize our Aunt could no longer stay in her in apartment but the enormous task of moving her was accomplished by the professionalism of the Happy Nest. Karla from the Happy Nest was kind, patient towards our Aunt. Her attention to detail assured that our Aunt would have everything she needed in her new place. Karla set up everything in the new place in a ready to enjoy status. Excess items were sold for a fair price.
