Econo moved us locally on September 2nd 2017 and it was an excellent experience. Lorne and his guys were professional, on time, and courteous. Temperatures were at 30 degrees, and the guys kept moving for all 5 hours with hardly a break. Estimate of 5 hours was exactly what it took. friendly, always smiling & joking. they made the move hassle-free for me as I wasn't even able to be there in attendance so it was extremely nerve-wracking even though, yes, as I said I was absent.... apparently I was told that everything went off without a hitch and there were no problems at all to report. all my stuff is safe & sound ( & in Storage.!!! )

After price checking multiple storage companies in the area I decided to go with Econo Moving & Storage they had the most competitive rates / value. You receive awsome customer service from the staff, and they are always willing to help you move items in / out of your storage unit. I would highly recommend this company.

I hired them to move my belongings out of my old condo, into storage for a few weeks, then into my new condo when I finally had possession. I had tried to get a quote from another company who could do both the move and the storage and they were very slow to respond, so I was happy with Econo's quick response, and the hourly quote was in line with other places I saw. The move out from the old place went well, very professional and quick movers. The storage was ok, though a bit of an inconvenience that you have to go to their office to sign paperwork rather than doing electronically. However, the move in was not great. For one thing, they overcharged me. They charge from the time they leave their warehouse to when they get back to the warehouse, which is fine and what I agreed to. But they told me they would arrive at my new condo at 9 am, so I told the resident manager it would be 8:30 for a bit of a buffer. It turns out they arrived before 8, before the elevator was prepped, and they couldn't start until close to 8:30. They didn't tell me that, though - I found out from the caretaker later -- and charged me for the entire time. Something I didn't catch at the time was they charged a $60 fuel charge rather than the $40 I was quoted, mentioning something about tolls (though there is no toll between their warehouse and the condo). They had forgotten to add a $30 forklift charge so they charged me that on top of the amount I signed for and left a voicemail about it, at which point I emailed them to say that's fine but please review the bill due to their miscalculation of time. 2 days later I haven't heard from them. So much for responsiveness. In addition, one of the movers made several jokes about the small size of the new condo, at one point telling his colleague it looked like a dorm room. One comment I'd have taken as good natured ribbing, but it was a bit much for me to consider it professional conduct. It's not *that* small and movers in the Vancouver area shouldn't be so shocked at a smaller condo, but above all I could do without critiques of my new home from my movers. Unfortunately, despite a positive experience for the first half, I wouldn't recommend this company.

It was so easy to just drop by...pick up boxes, tape whatever we needed to pack up...even a trolly for moving some things to our house. The movers who put my items in storage were careful and courteous, and when I needed to access my pod it was always in place and easily accessible. Unfortunately the company just bailed on us because the guy who was supposed to come to do an estimate decided that it is too hard to get to our apartment. We had to make special arrangements for somebody to be home during that time and that was super inconvenient. Keep in mind, the apartment is in downtown Vancouver area with easy driveway access and we've never had any issues with deliveries, taxis and other people finding us. You can also easy find it with any navigation apps. After emailing the company about this incident I was surprised to not even hear an apology about this inconvenience.

The staff member Alex is nice but the Manager is not. She is also a thief. I made a one time payment on my credit card and two weeks later she charged me again. It caused an over draft and a charge from my bank. Never leave your credit information with them. They will take money whenever they want. Regardless of your agreement.

Just used the folks at Econo Moving in North Vancouver to move from a house to an apartment. The team looking after my move consisted of James, Chris and Enas. They were outstanding in all aspects. Their patience and attention was very much appreciated. They were respectful and while obviously they did their job, I found them to be extremely polite, caring and accommodating. Delicate furniture was wrapped in blankets, boxes were taped up and fragile items were handled with care. Truly professional execution! I found the pricing to be reasonable in comparison to other movers. Best of all, they were true to their word that if the move went quicker, the final invoice would be less than the original estimate. That was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend Econo Moving and while I do not look forward to moving again for a while, I will certainly use them again if the need arises.

So grateful to Lorne and his team of amazing movers. Karen and Franz, the owners, really know how to hire and train these guys: each one is completely aware of every aspect of the move. They are kind, caring, emotionally intelligent and look after the smallest detail, like securing the fancy little facing off our china cabinet that fell off somewhere between the old home and the new home. These guys know how to work hard (steep driveway and tons of stairs!!!). They were brilliant in how they packed the storage pods, making sure that our stuff didn't take up more room than absolutely needed. Talk about spatial relations talent... that was a rubik's cube problem. Same fellows who moved us out, returned a month later and moved us in. So easy to work with. I think anyone would feel in good hands with the team at Econo.

Ken Mercer provided us with a competitive quote, arrived with the crew on moving day, carefully packed our belongings, provided storage for a month and moved us in with the same friendly service. Both crews were happy, hardworking guys who worked tirelessly until the job was done. Special thanks to the guys who moved us into our new home. It was a cold, very stormy day and they never complained about being soaking wet and even improvised so that our furniture and boxes were kept dry. Terrible experience! They increased their cost dramatically but only after most of our belongings were on the truck. On top of that they damaged a number of pieces and were very difficult to deal with to get the pieces repaired.

Very bad service on Sunday, dealt with some idiot that seemed to have mental issues and was extremely rude and aggressive. The owner needs to either fire him or suspend him or he’ll keep losing them customers. Very bad experience will probably stop using them.

I have used Econo since 2006 when I left to work overseas. Ten years later, I returned to find everything that I had stored in impeccable condition, exactly as I had left it a decade before - like it had been transported into the future through a time machine. Throughout the decade, they have always been extremely helpful, which is a great comfort when you are living thousands of miles away. I would also recommend their moving service - which I used on two occasions, and found to be excellent and affordable. Rest easy if you choose this company for your storage or moving.
