I am unsure what has changed with the company since the last reviewers left 5/5 star ratings, but this summer was upsetting having the movers take our belongings from one home to another. There were several areas of damage to our brand new hardwood flooring in our new home, ripped king sized mattress (that I witnessed), damage to our buffet cupboard, and stairwell pillars. The owner was present and moving furniture both days. They moved with little to no finesse, appearing to have not had any training or consideration for carpeting or belongings, and on five occasions drove away from the house with the household doors left open and air conditioning leaking out during a heat wave. I was packing in another room and would find this out incidentally (they wouldn’t warn me or ask me to follow and close the door after them). My spouse told the owner about the areas of damage but the owner did not have insurance or means to make amends, he could not even afford to pay his workers for the moving dates without us providing cash. The owner asked my spouse three times if payment could be made in cash instead of cheque or credit card. The owner also declined our invitation to view our home contents before the move date, which we recommended doing in order to book enough workers. Sure enough, moving day was under staffed with only the owner and a worker who smelled very strongly of alcohol. The worker vomited and had to leave in the first hour. The owner left for several hours to recruit more workers. This lack of planning resulted in the move not being completed in one day as agreed to.
