It was a professional, courteous, easy going, helpful move and setting up important things like our beds, i.e. mattresses, box springs, and where certain items should go to eliminate strain, stress & exhaustion. It was very well worth it to hire your company; will hire again in the future. Your team did not waste time. Communication was paramount and easy. Most certainly glad that the entire move from one residence to another could be done in a day, safely accomplished without incident. My experience with this company was so good on every level I wish I could write them higher than a five out of five. They are one of the first contractors that I’ve called in the recent past that return my call right away, was helpful, courteous, and direct and answering my questions. If I could give these guys zero stars I would. I watched them as my mother hired them and they took more than twice the time that was originally quoted to move her apartment. I've been involved with federal government moves all my life and I've never seen movers work slower. Then when it was all said and done they refused to put her bed together saying "that's not my job." Followed by saying she had to pay cash. When she explained the website says you can pay VISA and that was her plan, she was told that "yeah we don't bring the VISA machine." She explained that she didn't have that much cash on her and they then offered to follow her to her bank. These guys are painfully slow, unprofessional and apparently don't honour what they advertise. Do not hire these guys unless you want a head ache.

You pay for what u get, which is not a discount as per the name would suggest. They were prompt and on time which is about the best anyone can expect these days, the wouldn’t move our bookshelves (from ikea) cause It was the end of the day and I guess they didn’t feel like it, so I’m trying to find a different moving company to come do that, wish me luck

We highly recommend Discount Movers. They were actually a bit early, meeting us at our home 85 km from Red Deer the morning of our move. They packed all our boxes so efficiently there were virtually no empty spaces in the truck when they were finished. They were extremely careful and didn’t damage anything. They moved some huge pieces that were heavy, difficult and awkward, with no problems. We arrived in Red Deer at the end of a long day and they were just as efficient unloading everything. I wish I could remember the two fellows' names who were here, because they were great! I had to book movers at the last minute for a small move and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and professional, from the man who booked the job to the two men who came to actually move the stuff. They were on time, friendly, professional, and a true joy to deal with. They wasted no time, and billed fairly. And everyone had a sense of humour, which is always helpful when you're moving! Yesterday Arnell and I had a 1 pm appointment to give me a quote. He called at 1:15 and says he couldnt come til 2 pm but I had an appointment so we booked for 12 noon today. Its now 1:36 pm and he hasn't bothered to call or anything. I guess if he can't even be on time for a quote, then his company most likely won't be very reliable. These guys are amazing! They showed up 10 minutes early and had everything loaded within 30 minutes. Our stuff made it to Airdrie in one piece and it was unloaded in an hour. This company is really good at what they do! They're good at keeping in touch, they're conscientious and care about you and your stuff, and they do their best to provide superb service. I've hired them twice now and have been more than happy both times! Moving is not usually very fun, but when you have great help, it makes a big difference. Many thanks to you guys! Some tips to help your move go smoothly: Keep in mind that moves are not simple formulas. Moving companies will often have multiple bookings on any given day, and the earlier bookings can hold up the later ones. This is not because the movers are inefficient (they're actually very efficient) but because a lot of things can't be controlled for such as walking distance, stairs, weather, and how well your things are (or aren't) packed. Also, be prepared for your move to take longer than you think its going to, again, not because this company is inefficient and slow, but because moving takes time! So pad your budget to avoid any surprises. Also, don't haggle on the amount due at the end, that's not classy. They've provided a helpful and effective service, and they deserve to get paid. A cash tip for each employee helps to show your appreciation, even if you can only afford a small amount.

Best moving experience ive had ( right said no one ever lol ) they were 15 mins early started right away, no complaints. They were very professional packed up all the glass in moving blankets. So fast less the four hours to load up our house and they unpacked it at the new house and were done by 3. The movers were polite, experienced and very professional. All the furniture was wrapped in pads and handled with great care. We had quite a few fragile antiques which arrived undamaged at their destination. Discount Movers has our highest recommendation.

The guys that moved us were fantastic. They were early to arrive which is something that has never happened with previous movers .They were also very fast but careful at the same time. The 2 gentlemen communicated very well to move our living room furniture which is a bit oversized and difficult to squeeze through doorways. It was wonderful that they were done so quickly so we could have the rest of the day to get settled into our new place. They moved a 4 bedroom household from one side of the town to another in less than 5 hours. Very impressed with the service we received .We hope not to move again for a while but when or if we do we know who to call. And we will definitely be referring all our friends ans family. Discount Movers are really good company to call to help out with the moving you into your new house, apartment, plexs, or even a townhouses. But the only thing is that the two man they were missing my furniture nail and I couldn’t find it that was the only issue but I did went to Canadiantire to buy the new new one, but non of my staff were damaged they put everything in order they’re also friendly staff members and hard working. The movers were on time and great! Very friendly and polite the whole time. They packed and unpacked everything in a pretty timely manner. I had a lot of gym equipment and weird stuff to pack so they were good sports. I was aware that the clock started on for their hourly charge when they left their shop but I was a little bummed to see that we were charged for the extra almost hour it took them to get to our new place because of an accident on the highway. That was something out of both of our control so I’m not blaming the drivers they were likely just following the rules. Other than that they did a great job and were incredibly careful with all our belongings and everything was treated awesome! Thanks guys!

They arrived at 8 a.m. at our house in Red Deer and had us completely moved into our new house in Calgary by 2 p.m. And they put the door back on its hinges that I had taken off! Initially after reading all of these positive reviews I was excited about using Discount for our move. Things started well, they were on time had the right truck. Loading time for my home was 7 hours, 80% of my boxes were already in my garage, we had a good amount of furniture 4 bedroom sets, 2 livingrooms etc. I left for over an hour and a half around 12:30 they assured me it would be another hour MAX, I come back almost 2 hours later and they still are not done. I paid for 3 people to move our house and I wonder if I would have been better off paying for 2 with how things went after watching their process. The guys worked hard but I felt like they stood around a lot, over and above what breaks they were taking.. The "driver" was in no rush at all, he spent a large portion of his time folding his moving blankets/ standing around vs actually being preemptive and getting things ready for the 6 other people we had there to help unpack/ unload to expedite things as it was a long day for everyone. Overall I felt things took too long and things would have been completed quicker if things were completed more efficiently. The guys we had other then the driver were very polite and I was happy nothing was broken or damaged.

This was the first time using a moving company. They were professional, courteous, friendly and worked very fast. They were also careful and respectful of our belongings. They arrived 10 minutes early. They moved things without a single dent in the walls. They moved some very heavy items including a piano without any damage at either end and some items we thought might need to be taken apart they were able to move in once piece. They worked hard and fast even though they charge hourly. I would definitely recommend them and I would definitely use them again but I hope I never have to move again.

From the moment I first called Discount Movers, I had a good feeling about them. The owner, Jared, was very polite and accommodating on the phone while we set up the move date. They called the day before to confirm the move as they said they would. They arrived exactly when they said they would. Both movers were professional in their mannerisms. This was my first experience with Discount Movers and they were exceptional! All my questions were answered, the truck arrived early and everything arrived safely at my new home. Les, Dan, and Dean were amazing! Friendly service and they went above and beyond ie. Cutting a carpet remnant for under my filing cabinet and suggesting that I put felt pads under my furniture before it was put in place on my hard wood. I had a fabulous experience with Les and TJ. Of course I would move in the middle of a snow storm but those boys just kept moving. From one flight of stairs to another and a treterous drive I was so thankful for how amazing they were. They made the move less stressful than it could have been!
