We also hired this company to move a one bedroom suite with a quote of one thousand dollars to complete the job. As they did not forward a copy of a written contract for our review prior to the move, we did have an oral contract; one thousand dollars all in, and based on this offer we accepted and booked this company to do the move. The owner wanted a fifty percent deposit and we complied with this request a week before the move. The oral contract was offered, accepted and consideration was given to the company's owner, Darlene. When moving day commenced, the movers insisted on taking apart three plastic sheds which had been purchased from Home Depot. This wasn't necessary, neither was taking the queen size bed-frame apart in its entirety. When we arrived at our new home to begin unloading the truck, Darlene pulls out a paper contract and has added "add-ons" which inflated the agreed service fee to more than half of the original amount of one thousand dollars. The new contract for the company's moving services became $1685.00 and to add to this, there was no way the moving company would complete the original oral contract without another $1185. My husband was livid. We were hood - winked and at their mercy, as they had no intentions of completing the original contract. My husband fired them on the spot! This was a deceitful ploy to hijack the customer to pay an additional $685 When we inspected our furniture, the media console was damaged, as were three of the wood columns for another entertainment system, we have photographs of the damage to these furniture pieces. What should have been a very simple move from one location to another turned into a nightmare. This is our experience . CAVEAT EMPTOR!
