This company really has its act together. Every moment from the initial booking till the time the movers left was incredible! We had a BigSteelBox container and we needed movers to empty the contents into an apartment. I called to make a booking which reached a dispatch in Calgary and they took down all my information and created my profile to set the move up. The movers that came on moving day were EXCEPTIONALLY exceptional. No room for improvement with these guys. Dennis, the driver, and his assistant Mark were the most amazing movers. On top of their moving skills, their demeanors, customer service skills, manners, and general state of being were top notch for their young ages. The whole experience was so gratifying, the last thing I looked at was the time. These guys were top notch mascots for this company and hope Two Small Men do whatever it takes to keep them! I would recommend this moving company to everyone I know and will definitely use them again on my next move! Koodos!

First off the movers were 7 hours late. They first told me it would be a 2 hour wait, then no contact at all until I called them. It then took several more contacts before I finally got someone to arrive. They then told me I would get 2 groups to expedite the move, but only got one. I was then told I would get a discount, but never got one. They also charged me a $50 deposit, but never took it off my bill. When I complained, no one ever corrected the issue. I would never recommend this company to even my worst enemy. They didn't even wear masks, which made me nervous with COVID being around...

We were booked for 9am. It is 1:30pm and they still have not arrived. Just received a phone call, stating they were finally on their way, AFTER moving someone else. So our entire day has been completely messed up, because this company is poorly managed, and double booked themselves. Can't even comment on the how well they perform, as THEY HAVEN'T BOTHERED TO SHOW UP YET. Will never use again or recommend.

I was moving between cities, so we planned for the 3 days: packing, loading and driving, unloading. The movers spent the packing day shoving everything into boxes (including my iPad, which I needed), then shoving them into the truck in a disorganized way, then announced in the late afternoon that they wouldn't be able to fit everything (there was >1/3 of the truck left, plus they'd been loading some things that were supposed to stay behind) and would be leaving that night and sending a second truck the next day, requiring me to be in the new city to unload early the next morning!!!!!! This was NOT the plan, and it was also totally unnecessary! I told them (and their boss) that I needed them to fill the truck once only, packing it properly (that didn't happen), and unload on the date agreed. At that point, the movers developed an extremely rude and unhelpful attitude. They roughly loaded our trampoline (first insisting it wouldn't fit - it's only 8" round and fit flat against the truck's side standing on its side), and when it came out it had 2 tears in the net.... (it had none before). Some of my other items were flung on top in places where they could be scratched or damaged. This crew was extremely unprofessional and tried to completely change my booking without discussing with me or even communicating it at all. It was quite a shock to be told they were about to close the truck and leave a day early, and would be unnecessarily sending a second truck at my expense, and requiring me to drive back and forth to unload! Wtaf??! When I spoke to their boss on the phone, he indicated that he'd told me a couple of days prior that my home contents may not fit in one truck. This is true, however I'd sent my full list of contents to Two Small Men prior to booking (and also, I've moved a ton, and my items DID fit in one truck). He tried to use that as an excuse to completely change the plan and leave with the last 10 feet of their truck completely empty! Fortunately, they sent a different crew to unload, and that went just fine. My iPad was found in one of the boxes 4 or 5 days later (I hurriedly tried to unpack all the boxes in order to find it!). We are getting small insurance claim that does not cover a new net for the trampoline. Overall, this was a mixed experience. It wasn't all bad, but the initial crew clearly just wanted to get back home early and were trying to compress two days of work (one of packing, one of loading and driving back) into one. They became extremely nasty to me and rough with my belongings when I asked them to stick to the plan. So, I would NOT recommend Two Small Men. I would not care to repeat this experience.

They called in the morning to confirm a time, so I booked my freight elevator for two hours but then they showed up an hour and a half late and didn't update me to let me know which kind of screwed up the plans for the rest of the move.

We waited longer than we expected for the movers to come but liked how fast and efficient Candace and Grey moved the furniture into our apartment.The only complaint would be that they should have had covers to put over their shoes when they came into the apartment as they left a couple of small muddy stains on our carpet.Otherwise it was fine.

I booked the company to come between 9 and 10 am. After multiple calls saying that they were behind schedule " because one of their tricks broke down". They finally showed up at 2 p.m. . I had my elevator booked on the other end till 3pm so they said they would send a 3rd guy. This never happened. The two gentlemen that came we're not overly friendly. The one would not talk to me. They moved everything carefully. It was an extremely hot day so I understand that they were tired. The truck was in disrepair and the air conditioning was broken. By the end of the move the two men became a little friendlier when i brought them slurpees and had two of my friends helping then unload. It wasn't there fault and my understanding is that the company has new ownership. I used them several years ago and they were fantastic. In the end they took $10 off an hour because they were late but in my mind it still wasn't enough as it really affected my whole move on both ends. I would not use them again. Not overly professional in any way.

Our movers were great! They were so nice, organized, and polite, they were also super fast! We had some issues on moving day because the city was doing street work on our block but the movers didn’t let it impact anything and worked around the city trucks and city workers, we also had problems getting into our new home because of contractors doing work (that we didn’t know was happening) but the movers didn’t blink an eye at it, they handled it better than I did and honestly helped me feel better about the situation with their up-beat attitudes. The contractors were even in the movers way (!), but the movers were professional and didn’t say a thing about it or let it slow them down. I so appreciate Daniel and Justin and all their hard work! They did a great job and made me feel like it was no hassle at all, in situations I had no control over. I would hire them again in a heartbeat, I’m so glad I chose to for this move.

I had a really bad experience with this moving company(Two Small Men with Big Hearts). Their fee is that of other professional moving companies, but their on-the-job service is deplorable and was disappointing, to say the least. The most unbelievable part of my experience, was that they actually forgot the last piece sofa in the elevator, forcing me to run after the truck to ask them to come back to load it up. What’s more, they forget to bring the FOB key when first showing up, and to end things as they started, they put together a dresser with the mirrors installed backwards. It’s hard to believe such a company stays in business!

We had already moved all the smaller things in our home and had a different company scheduled to move all of our large furniture 2 days before we needed to be out of our home. Well the company we had originally booked cancelled on us the morning of our scheduled move. I panicked and called Two Small Men. They luckily had an opening the next day. The crew of Brian/Nikki/Moh were all friendly and exceptionally professional. They were careful with all of our belongings and took great care putting moving pads anywhere in our home where the furniture might've caused damage during the move. At the end of the day there was no damage to our new home and no damage to any of our furniture. They finished in a timely manner and cleaned everything up when they were done. Awful experience! We were quoted for 2 men taking about 6 - 8 hours but 3 guys showed up and convinced me to pay for all 3 so it would take less time. They ended up calling in another crew after 9 hours because they weren't close to being done. Second crew was amazing but the move ended up taking 11 hours and cost us more than double.

Would not recommended. Serious communication issues between staff leads to more work for me. The incorrect date was passed on. The local street construction issues I had mentioned were not told to the movers. But the largest problem is the fact that I had informed the company that the move was equivalent to a two bedroom apartment. But for some reason the movers were under the impression my place was the size of a one bedroom. The truck that arrived proved to be far too small. I have spent over a week since moving boxes to my new place in my small car at my own expense of time and fuel. The staff were very friendly. But beyond that, I regret spending what is for me a large sum of money for a service that fell very short of what I needed.

3.5 stars The move was good a month ago. The young movers were very professional and polite, even left them a nice tip (didn't know you had to tip this kind of service). My move was a 1 bedroom apartment. Nothing breakable, alot of bags. The cost was over $700 with 10% tip after taxes. You pay 1 hour for the travel to your place. And it took a little less than 4 hours to move, driving to the new place was about 20 minute drive. They did use the dolly at times, although I would have used it more often to make it more efficient, and the pace was moderate. I have moved over 2 dozen times in my life, and although I probably could have shaved off maybe an hour in the move with friends and cousins, I figure it is a tough job to do every day, so you can't go full-tilt all the time since the movers can get hurt and that's when things break. I would probably use them again in the future if there are no negative reviews on work performance from this date onward. 3 + 1/2 stars

Based on the positive reviews, we used Two Small Men for our recent move. Initially, I was impressed as the movers showed up on time and the lead was very professional and thorough. He reviewed the moving contract and pointed out what items would not be covered by insurance due to their construction. We had packed the small items ourselves, so the movers were dealing with boxes, furniture and appliances. I watched as the moving truck was packed and the move seemed to be going well. The move from the old house to the new one was only 7 Kilometers. Very near the end of the unloading at the new house, I noticed that the top stair (hardwood) had been damaged by a moving dolly. After the lead mover and his boss had some conversations about the damage, I was told that they would send someone out to repair the damage. When I noticed that this promise was not recorded on the moving contract, I insisted that it be documented and it was. Back at the old house, I later noticed some similar damage to a stair tread. When the move was finished, the only other complaint was that the clips that hold movable shelves in book cases were not removed and safely stored, so some were lost. In the days following the move, we found other damage to furniture and appliances. A book case had some abrasive type damage on it as did a washing machine. In addition, a leather couch and love seat both had scuff marks. I would have expected some protective material be used between the moving dolly and appliances. The scuff marks on the leather furniture could have been avoided with some extra care. None of the items we packed ourselves were damaged. It has now been over 6 weeks since the move and we have yet to be contacted about repairing the damaged stairs.

We got good information from the first quote request, with clear and quick responses to follow-up questions. We had it narrowed down to a couple of options for movers and while they both sounded professional and had good reputations, we ultimately settled on Two Small Men because of their shorter minimum time charge (we didn't see the actual move taking more than 2 hours). Their rates are very reasonable from what I can tell, and their employees are all friendly, responsive and reliable at what they do. They handled precious, heavy items with care and speed. Having spoken to 3 different people to orchestrate our move appeared to be challenging as no one seemed to ‘relay’ what needed to be moved, etc. Between my husband and I, we had to confirm what was being moved, etc. Knowing there were heavy items, including a loaded tool ‘chest’, they were not prepared or experienced in moving a fully loaded tool chest. That said, it was painful to watch them literally ram the chest onto the ramp, only to realize after 30 minutes of what was a futile attempt, they painfully rolled it back to the garage. Being the homeowner, and concerned of what their actions may have done to the integrity of the chest, chose to get involved. Asked that they stop putting all their efforts into one item, stop wasting time and get other items moved - time is money and the tool chest was not productive. One employee contacted the office to explain the challenges with the tool chest and suggested she was concerned with the safety of the employees, etc. What should have happened after 15 minutes or so, they should have communicated with the homeowner regarding the difficulties and considered alternatives. This did not happen. As mentioned, only after we, the client got involved, did things start to happen. Taking that conversation into consideration, safety and all, the other two gentlemen continued to take matters into their own hand (e.g.(one carried up an apartment size deep freeze, by himself), up 13 stairs from the basement, outside the home, and to their truck parked on the street. Not a safe act considering their was ice, blowing snow, etc. not to mention, gruelling on his body. Although the employees may believe they can do certain things alone, they potentially could experience life long ailments. Communication is definitely lacking - at least in our experience, and could be improved upon. Yes, our move happened, but the overall experience would have been better.

Broken furniture! :( They are very nice people, but they broke a lot of our stuff. It seems that other people had this issue too. I have a $2200 nice leather couch and after the movers left I realized the wooden bones are broken, they were sticking out and the leather was ripped. Also, there were white marks that seemed like they were from being rubbed against the wall. When they were grabbing things from my home, one of the guys lifted my office desk shelf and he broke the wood. He just stood there looking at me and waiting for me to say something and never apologized. I understand that it broke because it was from Ikea, but they didn't do anything about it and it was odd. I had to throw it away. For 2 and a half hour I paid $500 + gratitude fee of $30. I'm so sad that they broke our couch, I wish they'd do something about it. I have been so busy unpacking, but if you decide to go with them make sure to check if they break anything!

Borderline criminal treatment of a 69-year old grandmother! Avoid these clowns! They were booked to move my mother on April 30 between 2pm and 6pm. They never showed, nor did they contact me, so she called them. It took them over two hours to call her back and rebook her for the next morning at 8:30am. Again, no show. She called again. The dispatch had no idea what she was referring to. They called back half an hour later to tell her that they were on their way, and that they had to "bring a guy out of retirement" (Dave) to look after her. They offered her a discount. The quote was to bill 2-4 hours plus one hour of travel. They billed her for 7.5 hours and no reduction for the inconveniences caused (some discount!). Dave was verbally abusive to the two young boys he showed up with, so my mom was too scared to comment about the overbilling. The two boys also didn't have proper moving equipment, so they broke her antique oak TV cabinet and my digital thermostat. They have offered her $175 to fix her cabinet, but nothing else.

Movers moved box by box. Did not use dolly. One stood and watched tv. Disassembled bed they said HAD TO BE TAKEN APART OR it would break...then they reassembled it at the new place. Showed up 3 hours late. Allegedly the truck broke down. They didn’t call me to let me know, I had to call them and find out what was happening. Broke a few items of our furniture, broke our chandelier, dropped our dresser on our front steps. This damaged the dresser, as well as chipped our front steps. Movers laughing and joking through all of this like nothing bad is happening. Was told claims manager would contact me on Monday. Received an email from the claims manager. I replied and set up a follow up call. I was then told that the manager had emergency surgery 2 weeks ago and there was no way of knowing when someone would talk to me. Not sure who I was dealing with that morning then if the claims manager was out sick for past few weeks Overall very unprofessional, and I have little to no faith that our claims will be resolved.

I would not recommend this company. They phoned to say they were leaving their site on Marion Street and we said we would meet them at our mother's apartment. They showed up 1.5 hours later and didn't have the courtesy to call our cell to say they'd be delayed. Amateurs could have moved the furniture from this bed-sit apartment in less time! The entire move took almost 3 hours -- to move out of a bed-sit (no packing of boxes!), and to drive less than 10 minutes to a family member's garage where we were storing the items.

The truck ramp didn't have a way to be secured so it just sat on top the truck bed while they loaded and unloaded. Very unsafe. This created a lip that presented a tripping hazard. A hydraulic lift would be the best option. The truck itself was a bit small for this move and my Dad did not have a lot of stuff. We had to leave a table behind to be brought later in my brother's truck. Overall however a successful mostly stress free move.

I would highly recommend to avoid this company. We had a beautiful teak wood king size bed from eq3, it was one of our most expensive furniture and the movers completely destroyed the head board and broke it into two pieces. The company initially told us we would get a refund for the bed and not to worry so we could sign the papers and pay them the moving cost but then turns around stating they were not going to cover it and practically gave us barely any compensation compared to the cost of the bed. Now we have been sleeping on the floor for the last month, trying to figure out how to deal with this situation. If you want a professional, honest company who will be careful with your expensive furniture items, PLEASE avoid this company. Their response to why they can only cover 5% of the cost of the bed is that the compensation is limited by the government. Please show me where the government’s policy states that you are only allowed to pay back 5% of the value of an item you completely shattered. As well if you can direct me to a government contact number so I can speak to them about your company, I would be happy to double check the facts. Your other excuse is to state that we should use our home insurance to pay for our bed, but our home insurance requires us a $1000 deductible so please explain why I need to pay $1000 to fix a mistake your company made.

Cannot say enough about this company - they're prompt, reasonably priced, attentive, and legitimately care. The three gentlemen who helped move my partner and I to our first home were incredible! They were on time, friendly, were super cautious with all of our furniture, and worked tirelessly. We had issues getting our sectional into the basement, but it wasn't from their lack of trying: they did everything they could and didn't complain once (even when we were a pain and asked them keep trying). Due to current COVID-19 restrictions - and the fact that I'm immunocompromised and my wife is an RN - we called around to see whom would best be willing to accommodate us for our move with respect to keeping us safe. Some local companies were shockingly dismissive of our concerns. TSMWBH were very understanding and accommodating. They sent a husband/wife team as a precaution (since they live together lowest risk transmission potential) which we were very impressed with. The team (Nikki and Brian) were awesome: showed up on time fully masked, polite, friendly, honest, and were a pleasure to work with. They finished the move in the time quoted, even though it was the middle of winter and access to our new condo isn't the greatest. Two small men moved me and were exceptional ! They were quick and efficient but extremely careful with my belongings. I felt like they went above and beyond to make my move simple. They worked hard to fit my king mattress up a tiny hallway and never once complained about the challenges they had during my move.m, regardless of how labour intensive it was . I used them once again after my experience to move a washer and dryer down the stairs . They were unable to make the fit due to my poor measurements but went through strenuous efforts to try and do so. ( they even called a third guy to see if they could work around the stairwell barriers by lifting the washers differently ) They ended up being apologetic that the washer and dryer couldn’t fit and offered to move another non working set from the basement into the garage so I wouldn’t have to worry about it at a later date . Would 11/10 recommend this company to anyone moving .

The staff involved (Brian, Zack, Sam, and one other) are the most caring individuals I've ever seen doing a move. There was zero damage to our goods. It was my first time hiring a large moving company to help me on my move. Two Small Men was recommended to me by my relatives. At first, my feeling was up and down as I'm thinking about how will the service be and if the moving staff will be friendly, careful, and considerate. The two staff members from Two Small Men, Candace and Daniel, provided excellent service and made me really happy and pleased as a first-timer using this service. They've wrapped everything properly, stored carefully, and loaded up the truck. When they arrived to my new place, they were very careful and didn't even done any damages or scratches to my new walls. They even helped me moved everything to where I wanted it to be in the new home. I really appreciate that. At the end, the two staffs had also did a excellent job in providing me assembling service on putting the wooden box bed frame back together (as it was taken apart in order to be moved and loaded). Very fast and quick service. The staff had also explained carefully on every charge listed on the final bill. Overall, I had really excellent services with Two Small Men and will for sure keep the number handy to recommend to other people that I know. Thank you for this superior great service.

I've unfortunately had to deal with several moving companies in the past few years, but I was fortunate to finally discover this gem of a moving company! They are by far the most friendly, professional, fast and reasonably-priced option I have found! Their arrival was slightly delayed due to some tech issues, but Greg was so communicative at every point and I felt totally kept in the loop about what was happening. Once they arrived, things went so smoothly, they managed to load the truck in 45 minutes (!!) and were so courteous and friendly the entire time, which is even more impressive because it was a 3-floor walk-up at both locations! Despite this, they made quick work of efficiently and carefully unloading all my belongings. They came through with such high quality service, I was honestly quite impressed. Overall an incredibly positive experience, will definitely be booking with them again! But not too soon I hope!

We had a great experience with this company! The team was very professional, polite, efficient, and hardworking. They moved our three bedroom house from Steinbach to north of Winnipeg in one trip which was estimated to take 7-9 hours and they did it in 7 (on a hot July day). They took great care of all our items, large and small with nothing damaged. This included some heavy exercise equipment and a freezer up and down stairs. When shopping around for moving companies, it seemed they were one of the only companies with the option to move on a weekend during summer which was a big advantage for my family. I went on the web site for Two Small Men with Big Hearts about 2 days before i wanted to move. As i was filling out the information needed, i must have hit the submit button. I got a call right away from them to find out the rest of the information on what i had to move. I told Jason that I had 4 appliances plus a two bedrooms and living room furniture and alot of boxes and antique furniture. I was given a moving date of Sept 20. The next day i received a call from stating that my appointment was double book and could i move on Sept 21 at 9am. I said that would be fine. I got another call asking if the move could be at 1pm. Again i said yes. When the movers got here, they didn't have a truck big enough for my belongings and did not have the proper tools for the move as they said they did not know about the 4 appliances. They called their dispatcher to tell them this was not going to work. They told me that he said they would come back on Sept 22 at 9am. They offered me a discount for the inconvenience. Which was greatly appreciated. On Sept 22, two movers arrived on time Cody and Moe. They looked at all the things that needed to be moved and formed a plan. They went to work right away. They handled my antiques, china and other fragile boxes with care. They loaded it all in the truck in about 3 hrs (i have a lot of stuff), despite the ramp on the truck did not fit properly. It is a ramp for another truck the prongs did not line up with the holes in the tailgate that are supposed to keep the ramp secured. I was worried that either my stuff could get damaged or that one of them could get hurt. Even though it was a safety concern, i would like to commend Cody and Moe for their professional manner as they managed working with faulty equipment. If you are using this company to move, I'd recommend you ask for Cody and Moe to be your movers. Even though my experience was a little crazy with the miscommunication with in the company, I still would recommend them. And I hope they fix the ramp on the truck so the customer doesn't have to worry about their things or the workers getting hurt as moving is stressful enough without adding more to worry about. Again a big thank you to Cody and Moe. They made the move a great experience.

We hired them to move my inlaws. I told the guy on the phone and my mother in law told them as well how much stuff there was to move. (2 bedroom house with basement, 2 car garage, a full shed, gazebo and all yard supplies) they sent a truck that would be used for a 1 bedroom apartment with 3 guys. 2 of the guys showed up seemingly high judging by their smell and behavior. 1 of the guys could not lift anything. The 2 guys were being trained. They took over 3 hours to put items in the truck and they didn't even fill it. It took them 35 minutes to put 2 couches into the truck from the living room. I had to tell them how to bring the couches into the new house and even got spoken to rudely for the suggestion. They could not figure it out otherwise. They spent a lot of time standing around talking about their lives instead of moving which is not good when paying hourly. They charged over 550.00 and due to the truck being so small we had to spend the next two days moving them with our vehicles. We could have at least helped move the items if the company had sent the right size truck but we were not paying for the truck to go 1.5 hours travel time for each load. We tried emailing and phoning to get this straightened out but they have not replied. I would never recommend them. In fact I go out of my way to tell people to NEVER use them!!!!

Terrible customer service!!! I called on December 5 at 2 pm to confirm my delivery for December 6. I was told someone would confirm my delivery a few days prior to the move but no one had. When I called to confirm my delivery, the customer service lady told me that the hourly price would need to change. When I had called to book the service, I was quoted a certain price per hour and had an email sent with the hourly price and I had put a deposit down with those conditions. I’m sorry, but if we agree on a price and I put a deposit down on those conditions then thats what it should be. She wanted to charge me 10 dollars more an hour. It’s not the 10 dollars more an hour that make me upset it’s that we agreed to a price and a deposit was put down at that price. As a nurse, if I make a mistake, I take ownership of my mistake. If I go to the store and I buy a product with the sale price and the price is then different, they honour that price. She then used the example on me “if you buy a chocolate bar and you’re a pretty girl, does it make it ok if the guy gives you a chocolate bar for free?”. The guy who booked my delivery has no idea what I look like and that shouldn’t be the answer you give me. I hope you guys record your customer service phone calls because it was so unprofessional and she should be spoken to. She then asked me if I had morals and was ok with the company losing money. How about the customer!? In the end after 11 minutes of disagreeing, she said “whatever” and gave me the price as stated on the email and the agreement on the phone call. I asked for her manager and no name was given to me or the phone number because the manager wasn’t in on the weekend. I asked for the email and same thing. I would have rather spoken to the manager personally as opposed to leaving a long google review. I never leave reviews but for this I had to. I’m disappointed and angered by what kind of customer service I received. The gentleman who booked me though, was respectful and reasonable. And I’m sure the delivery people will be as well. UPDATE DECEMBER 6: In the evening, I received a phone call from the manager apologizing for the events earlier. The manager promised me the price that was quoted and two movers that are experienced. The movers we had, moved all our furniture in two hours. They were careful with our things and were polite.

Giving them a 3. Because yes, they did a fine move with no damage but rather costly and shady. The movers showed up in an unmarked truck (no sign) which was weird enough but then the movers themselves looked rough and unprofessional. I was most put off by their pushiness when they arrived and demanded only cash (which I wasn’t told prior to), so said we’d need to reschedule as I did not have cash nor a vehicle to go to a bank. They were barricading my front door and were not taking no for an answer. I called someone who was able to lend me the cash until then, but over all unprofessional experience!

I had this company quote me to move one sofa from one residence to the other , which is 10 minutes apart . I was quoted 119.00 waiving the fuel charge . It stated 2-4 hours for move even though 10 mins in destination . The movers arrived paper work stated the amount but the gentleman called in that was here to move the sofa as he stated they usually charge the 119.00 x3 as a minimum . The dispatcher was called and the gentleman that quoted me and they both told me I had to take half the responsibility for the miscommunication . I was spoken over top of every time I went to speak and was also told if we did not move forward with the change in cost they would just take the furniture . I stated the threats would be followed up with a call to the police if they tried to remove my items and it was stated that they would have the police called as well . All this took place in front of my young son . Highly unprofessional in communication , in how they deal with clients and the threats that proceeded in my residence . The movers that were here were great it was the head office that was completely out of line in their verbal communication .

We just moved yesterday from a one bedroom apartment, 18 floors with one elevator that had been down for 2 months and only one elevator working, therefore administration wouldn't allow the elevator to be put on hold. This team came in, where on time and moved us very quickly. They were very professional even with this one incident where another tenant was trying to make it hard for them to do there job by riding the elevator up and for no reason and not allowing them to use elevator. Management finally put an end to that. Then at the move in apartment, they had to work around a worker who was installing baseboards in our apartment. (Installation ended up being the same day as our move due to last shipment of baseboards. So like I said, even with all these obstacles they managed to move us, quickly and professional. This was the first time I have hired a moving service, and I have been told that when using any moving company, you should not pay by the hour as they will purposely do their job slowly, so that it will end up quite expensive. Well- Zac and Eidon came exactly at 9 a.m., they asked a few questions regarding what is to be moved, what furniture, etc, and within 3 hours I was in my new place with everything moved in! The service was amazing. I had a television which I was unable to wrap myself, and when Zac and Eidon came around, they even helped me wrap the television with a clean blanket and tape! They also asked me to check if I had recieved everything, and I thought so, but I hadn’t noticed that I was missing two bed sideboards- I called the company the next day, they found them (they were under some blankets in the truck) and they were willing to bring them to my place, however, I offered to pick them up myself from the office as I was going to be in the area anyhow. I am very happy with the service.

Two small man arrived relatively on time. Waited and watched for another 10 minutes for driver trying a series of zigzags to reverse through an empty parking lot to get to the loading door. Guys were friendly and worked hard and did not seem to damage or lose any items. Price was jacked up $129 for them to drive their empty truck to the location (30 minutes charge there and 30 minutes charge for them to drive their truck back to their storage lot) which I don’t feel I should have had to pay for. Unexpected big charge deletes a star.

Booked a truck for 2 bedroom apartment and what showed up is a small truck for 1 bedroom apartment. All of our belongings could not fit into the small truck and consequently had to come back for another trip which cost us EXTRA $$$. Instead of quoted 3-4 hours to move, it took almost 6 hours! The final charge was much more.

I wanted to leave a complete and fairly transparent review of my experience of Two Small Men, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We moved on (November 13th 2020) Friday the 13th , that said we were doomed to run into an issue of some sort! I’ll start by saying that overall, the crew was extremely pleasant, and I couldn’t say anything negative about their attitude and friendliness. Though, it did bother my wife that we spent at least a full hour’s rate on smoke breaks, but that is neither here nor there at this point and heavy lifting needs breaks. The crew arrived promptly at 9:30 AM and began the move, categorically organizing the truck; the efficiency was phenomenal. The only complaint to be had was the team insisting to not wear a mask after one of theirs had snapped, having been offered a new one, during a global pandemic. We had ours on the whole time, but had the kids been home from daycare, it would be entirely different. The first full load was ready to move over by 2pm, all went very smoothly from Point A to Point B, then back to Point A. Second load was ready to move over by around 7pm, which is where things took a turn. We had paid for four special boxes to transport two 75” televisions, as well as a 55” and a 46”. The team had self-admittedly neglected to use the boxes on one ( or maybe even all of the TVs as we had not seen a box, period, but won’t make assumptions) of the 75” TVs. Said 75” TV’s LCDs had been cracked and by Two Small Men’s account, that is a $48.00 television as TVs are valued by weight. Eventually, they agreed to a settlement value of $405.00 as the TV weighs slightly over 80 pounds (Ali was absolutely lovely to deal with given the circumstances) still far too low to replace the set, but we signed the contract expecting all to go well and that was our mistake. Thankfully, the time quoted on the initial estimate was significantly lower than the time taken and partial refund was given to compensate above the $405.00 given for the TV ($5.00 per pound, you know, like you’d buy mixed nuts in bulk). Additionally, only one of the mattress protectors we paid for was used, but no soiling or damage occurred thankfully. The only other slightly off-putting comment during the move was the suggestion that a tip should be between $50 and $100 per crew member. We were thinking significantly lower, so that put us in a very awkward spot at the end of the job. Would I recommend Two Small Men to anyone moving in Winnipeg? If you have anything of value that you cannot move yourself, absolutely not. Do not trust your valuables to this company unless you are willing to go with a homeowner’s insurance claim in the event of losses. Though you could try your luck and roll the dice.. We are still opening boxes with broken glassware, and a pair of Rubbermaids that must have been dropped hard as the containers are broken and unusable. Our main recliner sofa was noticed to be broken after the move, and now has a lean to the left. Found that a piece of wood behind the seat is broken and loose behind the coverings. If you’re moving all else except pricey electronics, then I’d absolutely recommend them as their rates were fine, and the team worked very hard. TLDR: Movers were punctual and worked very hard, broke a 75” TV, some glassware, rubbermaids and a sofa. Not likely to recommend to anyone. Pros – Very nice, hardworking crew, punctual, friendly. Cons – Broke 75” TV, expensive sofa, glass, Rubbermaid containers, pay by the pound for broken goods. Suggest / ask for very large tip. Gross miscalculation of time. Negligence of using boxes and bags that were paid for.

I recently moved from Winnipeg to Dauphin and I must say Candace and Grey Owl were nothing short of amazing to work with. Not only was the service great but the price was unbeatable. They showed up early and had everything packed in no time. Same with the unpacking portion. They were efficient and had everything unpacked in what I thought was record time. The experience was very good. Very polite and efficient. The only thing preventing 5 stars is one of my legs on my tv broke off. I know things happen but on that day it wasn't particularly cold outside. (Dec 10 2018) and my tv was one of the last things loaded so it was not in the truck for very long. When I noticed the leg was broken I mentioned it and one of the movers said very casually "well you know its from the cold" no apologies. And just shrugged his shoulders. If the tv had been bumped or anything accidents happen. But it wasn't the cold that snapped the leg off. If the mover had responded differently I would have done 5 stars. Otherwise great experience.
