Great movers. They were very professional from start to finish. They even sent us little moving cards with our new address printed on them to give out to people right after we booked with them. They showed up on time and were very up front about what was happening and when they were taking breaks. They got all of our stuff moved in good time. Only small issue was that they broke our coat rack and told us to just glue it back together, but otherwise we would use them again.

One of the team members was at our house early as he lived nearby so we gave him a quick tour of the house. When the rest of the team showed up he filled them in, they backed up the truck to our side gate, then hit the ground running. Along with a few well-deserved breaks, they got the job done in ten hours. They were polite, they let us know that when they took breaks they wouldn't charge us, they took extra care of padding items with glass and everything was moved with care and attention. All of them were pleasant to deal with and we enjoyed the brief conversations we had with them as well. No issues at all.

We didn't notice until we plugged it in and turned it on later. They are offering us a total of $12 to replace it but only if we pay a $100 deductible :( paying movers is an expensive investment and we are very disappointed that after paying over $1000 to this company for their services that we are also going to have to buy a new TV because they broke ours.

To even get a quote, I had to create a profile and fill everything out. In the details, I explicitly mentioned that I wanted replies emailed to me (no phonecalls, even though that field was mandatory). I was travelling, and when I got back 5 days later, I had a voicemail where the lady told me that my location (150km away) was too far to travel to and to use a different company. Had she used Google, she would have discovered that there weren't any closer companies - they all permanently closed with covid19. She didn't even ask why I was contacting this company or if I understood that such a distance would be expensive. Just told me to go elsewhere. To make things worse, their profile storage is probably compromised because ever since I filled it out, I've been getting rather smart spammers who seem to know all the information I submitted. I ended up calling to have my profile deleted off their system. Don't get me wrong - they are polite on the phone, and they even answered it before the 3rd ring, but how this was handled kind of irritated me because I don't have much cell service where I live so calling is hard.

the estimate didn't ask about shuttle fees, which they tried to charge me twice on. the origin needed a shuttle which i informed them about, i asked about the destination shuttle charge and they told me they didn't need one. to my surprise when they came to drop off my stuff they charged me for it. they wouldn't drop off my stuff until i paid the additional charge. they messed up and didn't give my drop off contact 24 hours notice, just two hours notice. they disregarded the drop off contact phone number and tried to call me even though i was outside of the country. i had to phone them to sort out everything from the other side of the world. the workers were very polite and efficient, working with the office side was worse. the coordinator didn't return my calls, when i got a refund they didn't notify me about it until 2 weeks later. nothing was damaged but i feel like i would have got cheated with extra costs if i wasn't keeping an eye out. workers 10/10 office staff 1/10

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Highland Moving in Edmonton. First of all, the move took significantly longer than it should have. There were 4 movers and it seemed that one of them spent the majority of the time packing things properly in the truck while the others stood around. They complained constantly about how hot it was, the amount of stairs, etc. They "misplaced" a cushion to an armchair of mine and it took literally weeks to locate it and get it back to me. I was overcharged, which was fixed but no one every really apologized for the inconveniences I had experienced. Then there was the damage to my property and my furniture. They didn't wrap my sofas so one ended up completely filthy and they refused to have it cleaned. A beautiful walnut bar cabinet that I adore had a huge chip in one of the legs and there were several chips to my hardwood floor and the drywall in my home. Like C.B. because I had signed off on the release, which the gentleman had me sign BEFORE the move was even complete, they refused to fix any of the issues. They do not provide you with the opportunity to walk through your entire house and inspect every inch of your property and your furniture and then refuse to compensate you for damage done. Seems like a big scam to me. I have moved many, many times and this was by far the most expensive and worst service I have ever received. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

While the office staff is friendly, and most of the movers are great and fast, there is one driver that I would never have on my moves ever again because he dragged the job to create more work hours for himself. This info came from the other movers personally after my 1 bedroom apt move turned into a 6 hour move that was completely unnecessary. It should have been 3-4 hours tops. They told me he drags a job during slower times for the company. He even drove way out of the way in the moving truck on the way to my new place, a 10 min drive turned into a half hour. The owner was made aware of this and I still didn't receive a refund for this. The only reason this company got 3 stars is because they have great people that work there and they keep that place running. Drivers who scam their customers don't get my repeat business. Ever.

We could not have had a better moving experience. Communication throughout the moving process was wonderful. The crews on both ends of the move were very professional. Our goods arrived on time and in perfect shape. The driver (Kevin) assigned to our move which included a grand piano was knowledgeable and efficient on its disassembly transport and reassembly. I cannot speak for all Highland Moving crews but ours were outstanding.

UPDATE Moving: The movers came and moved our 750 sq ft apartment to a house 7 minutes away. While they were careful with our items, they were highly inefficient in moving items out... it took them 6.5 hours overall (4 hours just to empty our small apartment), which is ridiculous as we had everything packed and organized for the move; we don't even own heavy furniture. The move was incredibly costly because of this. Booking: When working with Highland Movers, I requested a proposal with two possible dates (a month and a half away) for a within-city move. I discussed the rates/dates with my significant other and we decided to book with them; when I informed Highland's representative, she sent me an updated proposal with our chosen date with an increased rate ($30/hour than the original). When I communicated this and that our moving date was at the end of the following month and not the current, the company realized they had sent an erroneous rate and rectified it the same day. I'm quite happy with the outcome, and I am impressed with the accountability the representative took in explaining what had happened.

I will never move with them again! I paid $1500 for them to do the packing only to have 5 items broken - who puts a wine glass at the bottom of a box? They don't move on the weekend unless you pay more and couldn't guarantee an actual day (I was told they could only confirm a 3 day spread and the driver would call 24 hours in advance) until I insisted on an actual day because I would have to take a day off. I was charged $500 because it was confirmed the driver would not be able to bring a tractor trailer in and would need to have a shuttle, only for the driver to show up in a tractor trailer. The driver also showed up with an invoice stating to collect even though I'd already paid in full. The driver on the other end drank out of one of my glasses and left it on the counter with his juice in it and unpacked! I moved before from Vancouver and had no troubles with weekend moving or anything being broken. Oh and a one bedroom from Edmonton to BC cost $5000 + $1500 for packing! Go with someone else!

Very prompt communication and assistance, I've never used professional movers before and had some hesitance with it, however Becka and Shelia answered all my questions (and there were many!) very quickly and communicated very well. Our movers showed up early and immediately got to work. Chase and Spencer were two of the hardest working guys I've ever met. Exceptionally professional, prompt and excellent at packaging and moving everything, involving us the whole time, they worked a very long day into the night and I must reiterate that they are among the hardest workers I've ever known. The level of care they showed packing was exceptional, incredibly well packed, especially breakables.They unpacked with the same level of professionalism, promptness and care that they showed on the front end. Great guys to deal with, friendly and professional, couldn't ask for more. Highland Moving has made my first experience completely stress free and enjoyable. If I ever need to use a moving company again it's a no brainer that I'll call Highland. Outstanding!

Besides that, very disappointed with my experience with Highland. Not worth what was charged. The one man crew I dealt with the day before from Facebook Market place for my smaller items was outstanding - careful, and efficient in comparison. Issues: Scratches on furniture - night table, dresser, dining table Dresser drawer will not close Night table missing knob Charged for garment boxes when I was informed they were free White ottoman marked up with black finger prints None of the furniture was wrapped up Temporary carpet - filled with dirt, and hair.

Movers wanted to rope up a couch they forgot to measure in advance over a 3rd floor balcony. Liability everywhere with this company. Movers excuse, he has been with the company 10 years. That's no excuse for damages and irresponsibility. I gave 1 star, more training is needed for all contractors/movers.

Horrible experience with them. A cluster right from when they were 4 hours late picking up, to 10 days later dropping off (10 days to go 300kms). What a joke. They lied to me several times and I had to keep calling to find out when they would deliver. Didn't show up on the delivery day (9th day) and lied and said that I called the dispatcher and told them not to show up. Late in the afternoon on day 10 I had to get a manager involved and lo and behold my stuff arrived an hour later. Very expensive and definitely not worth it.

Two things I absolutely loved was transparency about cost (i.e. no hidden costs after pickup) and great communication from the driver to keep us updated of the status and plan a good time for delivery. Of all the organizations we had to deal with in our move to BC from Alberta the team at Highland along with Rocky and his team of movers were the most efficient, organized & pleasant group we had to work with. Great experience. Moved my daughter from Leduc AB to Surrey BC. From first contact with Becka, to coordinating with Lelly, to the movers Peter and CJ. All were courteous and professional. Our move was combined with two others going to BC. Every item was tagged and logged, then all the furniture was wrapped in moving blankets. The care taken was above expectation. The truck with all items intact arrived right on schedule. And the price came in under the original estimate.

I used this company for a cross-Canada move. They were helpful when it came to providing a quote, pick up time, drop off time, and the guys that did the loading and unloading were helpful and friendly. However, they completely dropped the ball when it came to their customer service. They made a clerical error and tried to force me into additional payment. This was a month or so after I had already paid their final amount in total (asked twice what the final amount would be as payment needs to happen before I can receive my belongings, which is standard). When I refused to pay the extra amount, keep in mind that they were trying to recover money from their own accounting mistake which was a mistake that I did not make, they threatened to send a collections agency after me. Their "customer service rep" at this location was incredibly unfriendly and did not understand that their mistake is not my problem. Moving quality 3/5, nothing special Office staff 1/5. Be aware.

I used Highlands Moving in October. Too many things went wrong to list, it was a terrible experience. Unprofessional, poor communicators,overcharged, things were damaged and packed poorly into storage unit. I had used them a few times In the past and I will never recommend or use them ever again. I had brought up damages and concerns with management. Very little compensation was offered and then they did not respond to my email stating I found that insufficient. I submitted a claim form and am still waiting for someone to return my call from two weeks ago ????‍♀️I guess I will try again tomorrow— hiring them has created a huge, time consuming mess for me to straighten out.

The team was incredibly efficient and careful with all of our furniture. Their ability to carry multiple boxes at once out of our 3-story walk-up with no safety concerns was a sight to see. The movers were very respectful and treated my mum’s possessions as if they were their own. I also appreciated that the movers were respectful of each other and took breaks throughout the move so they could stay positive and energetic. Other moving experiences that I’ve had have not been this easy or pleasant.

The pre-move assistance was unfailingly supportive. We cancelled the packing day on a few days’ notice and were congratulated for having gotten the packing done ourselves. The movers were personable, careful and efficient. The total hourly charge was less than expected. If Costco provided moving this is how they’d do it.

2nd time our family has used Highland, very professional crew, Matt the driver knows his stuff. The crew was friendly and very obliging. They did get some boxes in the wrong areas but overall very satisfied, The office staff were very helpful and we got a sizeable refund on the quoted moving costs. Highly recommended.

They underestimate their hours, consequently they charge way too much; they broke things, they put boxes in wrong places. Their follow up customer service is poor, phone calls not returned, no acknowledgment of poor service. I would not recommend this moving company. I am a single senior and was not expecting to have to move heavy items up flights of stairs myself. I arranged for Highland to pack fragile things to ensure safety, I had many breakages, scuffs on new walls, and an outrageous bill at the end of it. No compensation whatsoever. Avoid this company.

Update. Used these guys now again (total 5 times) Again they have impressed me with the same. Thanks Clarence, Ricky, Torren and Terrence and Sarah did the organization. Showed up on time, work done well, on budget and guys were great to hang out with for the day. I would have recommended them before and that has not changed. I recommend them with full confidence. Arliss got us an appointment on short notice (Thanks Arliss). Guys were ready and on time. The move executed perfectly and, while I was not present, the larger fellow apparently made the experience look like a well orchestrated ballet. He gracefully moved large items through my 5 level split home with stairs galore as he coached a newer employee. Price was reasonable and everything arrived in the condition it left. Wonderful service.
