We've got all the information of real people who are using the products and services of AutoRail Forwarders, Autorail.com (Moving Company) in the area of Halifax (Canada).
Right now the firm receives a score of 1.1 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 26 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is quite scarce, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we can think that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Moving Company belongs to the category of Vehicle shipping agent.
Paid for delivery in early March covid shut down kept getting delayed and never shipped for 2 months. Has not answered emails or calls 5 months later. No better then a scam. Still have not got a Cent back from him. Some how he's running a legal scam
SCAM
Gerry is a fraud artist. This business is a scam. The number of victims is simply astounding. The police needs to gets involved. Gerry stole 1679$ from to deliver a car from Montreal to Vancouver. The car never left Montreal. The money was never reimbursed. He lied to me constantly. The amount of time and energy lost dealing with Gerry was even more aggravating than the financial loss. How can such a "business" be allowed to operate for so many years in a developed country like Canada? If the current laws allow Gerry to rob multiple "customers" over more than a decade, the laws needs to be changed. There have been two CBC reports on Gerry, yet I don't feel the reports fully capture the extent of the scam.
Is there any possible way to give less then one star. Shipping with auto rail was a horror story from start to finish.... never use this service or this guy
They just want your money....you should run as far away as you can.
My sincere request to everyone, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM AUTORAIL and Gerry. I had a horrible experience with these guys. I shipped my brand new pickup truck from Newfoundland to Toronto. To begin with the guy gerry will pick up your calls only till he gets your money, once you have made the email transfer he will stop picking up your calls and the reason he gives is "we are extremely busy". I was flying out of the province and he did not pick up the vehicle till the very last day. Ultimately he made me drive my vehicle 200 kms and drop it at some auction yard. While taking the money he promised 8-10 days for the delivery of the vehicle. IT TOOK OVER A MONTH.. It was a horror dealing with him as you are left totally in the dark and don't know where your vehicle is. I called the guy atleast 1000 times but he never picked up. Finally I decided I will report it to the police thats when he sent me an email saying its on the way. I had to rent a car for 1 month which cost me a bomb and apart from that the stress me and my family had to go through because of that is unimaginable. After a month finally the vehicle arrived and when I went to pick it up, to my shock, the license plate was missing and so I couldn't drive the vehicle out of the yard. I called gerry and he started making false claims that you removed the license plate and so on. I immedieately went to the police to file a complaint and informed him I had done so, then he replied that he will check on it and let me know. After some time he informs me that the auction yard had removed the license plate as that is their procedure. WHY ON EARTH WOULD SOMEONE WANT MY LICENSE PLATE AS IT IS MY PROPERTY. I had to run all across Toronto to get a new license plate and had to tow my truck as I couldn't drive it. The staff working in the yard were helpful, they told me you’re lucky you got your vehicle in over a month as there have been people dealing with Gerry who have got their vehicles after 6-8 months. My mistake was I didn’t read the reviews people had posted about autorail before sending him my money. I would'nt suggest this guy to my worst enemy.
The worst ever company in Canada Unprofessional and just a group of Amateurs!
I used these guys last year. They said the car would be delivered in about 10 days. It took a full month. They refused to refund any part of what I paid for the move. Poorly run establishment in my opinion. Update; Jan 2020. Now I see they deny me being a client. Maybe their records don't go back to the summer of 2008 (when I paid them to move my car to Florida). I won't go into all the details; no need to throw gas on the fire, but I WAS a client of theirs when their office was in Bedford, on the Bedford Hwy.
I paid 1700 to ship my car . After two weeks still sitting in pick up yard. I retrieved and demanded refund agreeing to fee. They would not refund. After numerous excuses and promises they never refunded my money. This is the honest truth. It difficult to fathom .I f I were to steal I would be charged with theft. These people are theives and get away with it. And yes Jerry we were your customer....I think it's time all.of us who have left these reviews contact the RCMP or W5 or some advocate who can convict these guys. Its stealing .
They ask you to pre-pay they Gerry is a pro , once they get your money they stop responding your call they literary disappear. They run a croocked business . You must take legal action to get your money back. Stay away from this business you will save money ,headache and time.
Paid $1,500 in June 2019 to have my car shipped from vancouver to Calgary. Until today they never shipped it but they still have my money. I've been calling and emailing then numerous times but they never reply. They only replied a couple of days ago when I threatened them to file a complaint for fraud with the RCMP. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
Never deal with Auto Fail.
If there was an option for 0 i would rate it that. Boy did Gerry and Auto Rail take me on a journey. Sketchy sketchy sketchy company. Stay far away. When Gerry wants your money hes all over you, answers the phone right away, gets back via email right away. When i dropped my truck off at Adesa overnight (This company has no affiliation with Adesa) left keys to him as instructed. Truck was gone start of January. Was scheduled to take less than a week, this truck did not arrive at my clients destination until March! Everyday was a new story of how busy it is, how he cant get a hold of driver, by the time we got the truck. Tires flat, seat damaged, kms way over. Really feel like the vehicle was picked up by him and gone joy riding nation wide before it reached the appropriate destination. Took 10-15 calls a day along with some nasty emails for legal action to get him to finally return calls and emails. I wish i knew better would have saved me 3 months of stress and headaches. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM AUTO RAIL FORWARDERS AND GERRY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
On June 11th, 2018 I spoke with Gerry from Auto Rail Forwarders (located in Halifax Nova Scotia) as we needed our truck shipped from Fort McMurray Alberta to Southern Ontario. He explained the process, that we will receive our vehicle within 7-10days. They would need our truck dropped off at the GM dealership in Fort McMurray and they would deliver to the GM dealership in Welland Ontario. He was very friendly on the phone and seemed like a great guy, Oh was I wrong. We arranged pick up in Fort McMurray on June 22nd 2018 which would mean I would receive my vehicle in Ontario no later than July 5th (being generous with the 7-10 days as there is a holiday within that time frame). I email transferred him over $2000.00 as he required payment upfront (as most shipping companies do) in order to confirm my booking. He sent me an invoice confirming it was 'paid in full'. The day before scheduled pick up I called the manager of the GM dealership to make him aware that we would be dropping the truck off as Auto Rail Forwarders would be picking up our truck the next day, I gave the dealership a copy of my invoice to ensure there was no confusion upon pick up. On July 3rd I emailed Gerry in regards to an update on when our vehicle would arrive as I have two small children and my husband was still working in Fort McMurray and I needed to make arrangements for someone to drive me and my children to our vehicle as it was bring dropped off in a different city. He told me there were some delays and he would advise. I emailed him again on July 5th as I did not hear back from him and got no response. On July 6th I received a phone call from the GM dealership in Fort McMurray asking us when our vehicle was going to be picked up as it was still sitting in their parking lot. What a shock, here I thought I would be receiving my truck any day and it hasn't even been picked up. I called Gerry numerous times and left voicemails and never got a call back. I emailed him as well. On July 7th he finally emailed me back and did apologize as he was on vacation and was unsure what had taken place and why our truck was never picked up. He explained that he had to wait until the office in Alberta opened to find out what was going on. Once I heard back he said a driver would pick up in Fort McMurray that day. The GM dealership closed at 6pm so we waited and waited for a call saying it was picked up. My husband (luckily was still in Fort McMurray or it would have been a lot worse) went to the GM dealership and waited until closing time and when no one showed up to ship our truck he got the keys from reception and left with our truck. I have been emailing Gerry regarding getting our money returned to us as we had to pay our for another company to ship our truck. He tells me week after week he will get our money sent back to us and still has not sent anything. He keeps delaying, its been 55 days we have waited for our money to be returned. One thing I will give Gerry is that he is smart, he knows the right people to scam. Smalls claim court is only in province, I have to travel to Nova Scotia and file the claim at the nearest courthouse to his business. I cannot file it here in Ontario. Do not use this company, after I was scammed by him I started researching more and I am not the first and I am sure won't be the last.
I called to get a quote because I tried twice on the website and it crashed or wouldn't give me an answer. So I get a call from Auto Rail and I cant remember the guys name but the only advise he gave me was "Go to the website and request a quote there." After I had told him I had already tried, he told me "why don't you try again..." Safe to say I will NOT be using this place. Poor customer service
These guys are the worst. The company doesn't even exist. The address on the website is fake. I lost 1800$ and apparently Gerry has more that 50 lawsuits pending. I don't understand why this company is still allowed to have any website. Do not use them.
So very slow! They had 5 weeks for a move and had been 2 weeks late Odd that after all of these reviews being poor at best Gerry has advised that he has never done business with any of us!##
Save yourself time and money. They never return your phone calls. They are more than happy to take your money and provide nothing in return. I work in transportation and they literally are the most unprofessional in the industry. Its a one man show and the owner just does not care!
Terrible, we had $2700 worth of damage that they would not fix, both rockers damaged, front license plate mount ripped off, back quarter panel heavily scratched, rear bumper scratched, driver smoked in the car. Gerry will do nothing for you, all excuses. your car will be late, please find someone else.
This business provides false estimates of its delivery times and then gives the customer a litany of excuses for why your vehicle has not been delivered within the timeframe it gave in order to get your business. They can’t be trusted! Do not give them your business!!
This is a scam
I paid for enclosed shipping on a vintage truck from Halifax to London Ontario, the vehicle arrived in London and I was sent a text to pay the remainder of the bill and Gerry would tell me where it was( very unprofessional ). When I got to my vehicle it was painfully obvious that it was shipped open carrier, my tonneau cover had blown off and caused $3895.85 damage to the vehicle. It was shipped fraudulently and they refuse to pay for the damages. DO NOT HIRE!
I paid in Vancouver on January 25th and received the car in Halifax on April 6th with a little note from Gerry, 'sorry about the delay'. This was the most stressful business transaction I have ever undertaken for all the reasons stated in the other reviews. Buyer beware.
This guy Gerry is pretty messed up. I represent a Transportation Company and we moved 2 cars for him in December 2018, for which we were supposed to be paid cash on delivery. It's been over a month now and we haven't still received the payment. He doesn't even answer our calls anymore,, and if he does he says that they have mailed our check and disconnects saying that he's very busy. He's an A**hole. Don't work with this company.
