BEWARE* Dont go here, this place is a joke, nothing but issues. I started out renting a storage unit here, and the auto renewing payments never came out. I've set it up, 4 times now, and they only waved the late fees the first time. Afterwards, I was told I never set it up, despite doing it in person, all 4 times, even with the manager. They're available to take your money but never resolve any issues, and you cannot contact them over the phone. They cant even notify you of payments via mail right. I've rented a moving truck in the past from them, that clunked and couldn't drive a straight line, I've rented a pickup truck, that after being reassured was 4x4, wasnt. Which complicated things immensely. The wait times are 9/10 horrible, and seemingly understaffed most of the time. I DO NOT recommend this location to anyone, EVER. I will go out of my way to get any services needed from separate locations.

I've had good business with this location renting moving trucks. But they are always short staffed when in here and the line is always at least a half hour wait. They are always messing up. I'm here waiting in line to close my storage account, there's a guy that booked a moving van for today at 9am, and they booked it for him for 4pm. This man just needs to move his family and the are screwing up his whole plan.

Very unreliable. Don't waste your time and energy. I had a pick up for 9am, and with less than 24hr notice they told me the pick up was moved to 1pm. I'm moving cities so I needed a full day. I booked a full month prior to ensure I wouldn't be screwed over because of all the students booking up trucks. I had to frantically call around and try to find a place. Which ended with me having to book a U-Haul in my new city (and a smaller truck so we'll see how that goes) and do a round trip because everything was booked up. Not only that, when I went to cancel I found out that they had changed my pick up location too to Kitchener without explicitly telling me. So if I had to keep that booking I would have been screwed even further.

Bought a hitch online, scheduled an appointment for installation at this location. The day of installation, they told us no one was available to do it. They only gave us a refund when we insisted. Poor service - won't be coming back here again.

Staff are friendly- had a good yarn with the customer service dude that hooked up the trailer. We confirmed all safety aspects of the trailer. Good job team UHaul !

Unbelievably slow service. Not sure if it's U-Haul or this location in particular, but their systems are slow, both times I've been here (pick up and drop off) they've had something on their computer not work, I've seen 2 employees stand around and do virtually nothing while 1 guy works the desk, and every customer takes 10-20 minutes to go through. Infuriating to stand in line here. I've been standing in line for almost an hour just to drop off some boxes I rented.

Don't come here ... BEWARE .. if you really want to store your belongings go somewhere else. Manager is biggest thug(Thief). He can be available to take the money out of your account but can't help you what was promised to you. No body willing to help the customers. I am the customer from last 4 months now and requesting the 1st month free from 4 months now. Believe me ... after wasting so much hours over the phone and personal visits at different times, I still getting charged for my free month. Customer service can't do anything except sending messages and requests to call but the manager is only available to charge money...not to resolve any issues, what customers have. See for yourself in the reviews from different people... can't give negative( - STARS) feedback otherwise I would have. FRUSTRATION TO THE LIMIT.

Prices are great, I've never had a problem getting the kind of trailer I want. I absolutely love that I can pickup a trailer in Alabama, USA and drop it off in Guelph. It's nice and easy to reserve on line. I even got my hitch and wiring harness installed there.

I never ran across an issue with them over these years and have always found what I’m looking for in terms of availability at the Speedsville Guelph location. I’ve never had issue or problems at this location. Staff has always been, helpful, prompt and knowledgeable about all aspects of the company. Right down to the hidden easter eggs hidden in the artwork. (Side of the trucks) The storage area is always well lit, clean and secure. Store front, laid out economically and efficiently. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this location.

Great help from these people, working with me to sort out my trailer needs vs. the availability they had for trailers on a busy weekend. Some delightful banter back and forth as well. This is my local U-Haul place, glad they set one up here, would not rather go anywhere else! The only downside is that trailer availability can be tough at some points in the year...but generally I'd have good luck without having to schedule too far in advance. I would recommend scheduling ahead of time if you absolutely must have something ready when you show up however!

My husband purchased a hitch mount online, paid for service at time of booking. When he got to pick up his car, they would not release the car until he paid another $120, bc they took longer than anticipated to install and parts that were included in the original amount were added. We called the manager of the location, could not get a hold of them, tried to reach out to U-Haul directly, they would not provide a refund. Never again would we deal with U-Haul.

Definitely use the online tool or app for booking and checking in during busy times such as Saturday mornings but you'll still likely have to wait in line so give yourself extra time. I waited 45 minutes...due to staffing issues I guess... before they could process my booking and get me hooked on to my trailer. The staff were very pleasant to work with though and I did like the ordering online. Also, if you will be moving large objects with a utility trailer, measure the object's dimensions and make sure the trailer cargo space will be big enough. The 5 foot wide utility trailer I had was only 4 foot 3 inches wide inside the cargo box. The number on the trailer is NOT the dimensions of the cargo space. Not sure if the same issue applies with cargo trailers. I think it would be great if uhaul could note the actual cargo space dimensions on the website when you are picking out a utility trailer. The checking back in process was great as I parked the trailer where I got it and the attendant did their inspection and sent me an email receipt from his phone right there in the parking lot. I was gone again in less than 5 minutes. I will use their services again.

We just had a very disappointing experience at this location. We ordered a hitch, FROM UHAUL, realized the instal was more than we expected, so called around to UHAULs in our area to ask them to instal. This location took the make and model of our car and booked an appntmnt saying “no problem, we can that for you.” We went out of our way (we are from Waterloo) to go to this location because they had the soonest available and appntmnt and said “yes we can instal that.” We drop the car off only to have them call us later saying “we don’t have the equipment to instal this hitch to this vehicle.” Are you kidding me? Something they easily could have checked beforehand. We ended up wasting our day dropping off the car and picking it back up. We’ve never had great experiences with UHAUL and this was no better. Do not recommend.

We were in a time crunch and ran out of room in our moving container. I called Brandon, a manager there, and he was able to get us a truck within an hour. I picked up some boxes as well! The staff there was very friendly and although it was super busy, they smiled and took the time to carry the boxes out for me. I always appreciate good customer service! Had problems getting my truck that was reserved. Had to wait an extra 2 hours. Also they changed there rates from $2,200, to 3,125+tx and you had to keep it for 5 days and only needed 2 days. Truck ran well, although the oil was at 18% b4 next change. Wipers were lousy, should of had thorough inspection b4 pickup.

My friend wanted to move out and needed a truck. U-Haul was a good choice. We rented a Ford truck in the afternoon for 24 hours. We drove around 10 kilometers and the price was less than $100. After using the car we just pulled car exactly at the parking. U-Haul would be a good choice for picking up your stuff.

Trucks are good in condition. They also have indoor and outdoor units. But they do not have gates or fences like other storage places.

Picked up truck DC2528L on a Friday it rained all night and the next day got to my new house only to find the truck leaked and some of our belongings were totally damaged by the water took pictures showing water damage and how it was on both leavels paid for insurance company denied the claim saying no falt found dealer 075 in guelph gave the cost of the rental back and said sorry nothing we can do about your belongings that is up to the clams department

Staff is friendly and efficient, we were greeted by a welcoming staff member in the parking lot when we arrived. The lot looked organized and well maintained. Although we didn't require a rental on this day we continued on into the building and we were quite impressed with the helpful items available to assist with moving. The gentleman behind the counter was with another customer explaining the rental process clearly. We will definitely use their services when we are ready to move

Faisal was the best help ever. He delivered our 2 u boxes on time and picked them up. When it came to delivery to the new location I only need one of the boxes... I told them the incorrect number - ugh. It took overnight for them to bring me the correct box and take the incorrect box back to the warehouse. We emptied it immediately. I did schedule it to be picked up the next day. No one came. I called Uhaul at 5:30 and Faisal to the rescue. He came in 30 mins and picked up the empty box and hauled it away. Brandon and Faisal delivered everything to us on time, in a professional manner. Hats off to you guys.

My experience with this Guelph Uhaul location was outstanding. I could not express my satisfaction enough. I have had previous experiences with Uhauls in other cities (not great if I do say so myself). This centre changed my overall opinion of Uhaul and their services. The staff (Brandon? and John?) who work behind the desk were extremely knowledgeable and explained the entire Ubox process from load to unload. The store is in the midst of renovations and looks great! The showroom is really coming together. A++

Booked a trailer over the phone, was assured it was there. Drove from over an hour away and when I arrived they confirmed they had the trailer, did all the paper work and paid before they said "oh wait, we don't have THAT trailer so we are giving you this totally different trailer instead." Such a waste of time. Avoid this place at ALL COSTS!

The absolute worst experience. The line up was out the door and the slowest moving customer service ever at any Uhaul I have been to. Even after the preregistration was completed days prior to “speed things up” . I also confirmed a 9:30 an pickup and they texted me the evening before moving day to say my trailer will be ready at 2:30pm instead of the 9:30am time I selected. Think long and hard about about other options

they dont check the trucks after you return them, how do i know because my son left really expensive bungy straps in the back of one of their trucks & they rented it out next morning with out checking it or they would have found them, and if they did find them they said they would be on the cleaning cart according to them, they were not on the cart, so that would mean they didnt check the truck (didnt do their job last night) Update they have contacted us saying they found them, heres hoping they are intact

Uhaul pays for reviews. Quite evident when some of their reviews say they have been open for 4 years. The site has been open for around a year. No way they would even attain 118 organic reviews. From the moment we stepped into the U-haul location we noticed the competence of the person behind the counter (unfortunately forgot who we spoke to on that day). While he spoke to the customers ahead of us we noticed patience and competence. When it came to our turn this was confirmed. When you are totally stressed out we tend to forget to ask certain question yet we received all information even without asking. Our move was a 35 km distance to Guelph from a 3 bdrm house with garage to a one bdrm apartment so we had to store our belongings in 5 units. From the moment we drove in with a truck full, Diane (Manager), Sarah (Assistant Manager)and Brandon showed their extraordinary customer service skills and team work by turning around our whole difficult and exhausting move into a much smoother situation. Brandon even stayed over an hour later even though we told him we respect that it is closing time and didn't want to abuse their kindness and understanding. We could breath again. We met all 3 on different days as unloading took longer than expected yet constant communication between each other was incredibly amazing and there was no need for explanation on our part each time we came in. They simply performed their duties to their highest level and directed us putting us at ease each time allowing us to feel less pressure. This has been going on frequently since beginning of October as we are still organising and separating our things for donation or to slowly move in to the apartment between work and free time and we are still treated with the same consideration and kindness is as was in the beginning. The stress of this ongoing move has been tremendous but Diane, Sarah and Brandon's work ethics, team work and competence is worth recognition of all levels of authority over them and we definitely recommend this location for anyone for truck rental or storage needs because of ongoing contact with these employees. Thank you so much for making our move so much easier.

so I made an appointment to have a rear hitch installed on my vehicle and somehow the booking got put in wrong and the hitch was never ordered. Now this is just a simple human error. The favorable thing here for me as a customer was that we were able to work out finding another close by, get it there and they were able to put it on that same day. So my day was jostled a little but Dave went further than most and helped make this happen, helped get me and my family on vacation with our 4 bikes (needed the hitch for a 4 bike rack) and we were off to the races and they gave me a discount for the inconvenience. That stellar service to me. Just saying.

Great location to rent vehicles from. I rented a trailer. Price is better then homedepot and I was in and out in 15 mins. They hooked up the trailer for me so I didn't have to do anything. Drop-off was super easy, just pull into the drop-off zone and someone was there to meet me. They unhooked the trailer and I was gone in 5 minutes flat. This will be the only location I rent from in future.

Called to resolve an issue, which was admittedly due to my own misunderstanding, and was met with condescending and defensive tones. Service was fine but make sure to read and understand your contracts and the promotional content regarding your service unless you enjoy being spoken to like a child. i just recently rented a truck from Uhaul as I needed to move some small furniture and figured i would give them a try. I went and rented a there smallest Cube van that they had. As I went in i was told to purchased there insurance and after 5 minutes of saying no the lady told me " well if anything happens even if someone hits you your paying" I really said NO im ok thanks. I rent the truck for 3 hours and receive a bill for $390 of overages the next day on my Credit card. i call them to see whats going on and i get told i will here from the manager in 2 days. 3 days later i call back and get transferred to there call center in Houston Texas where the lady talks to me for 45 minutes and agrees that i was overchargeed however she cant help so her Manager will call me back within 48 hours. Today is day 4 after the phone call and still nothing. DO NOT EVER RENT WITH THIS COMPANY THEY LOVE TO TRY AND BE SHADY AND CHARGE EXTRAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t get a hitch installed by these amateurs at the Speedvale location in Guelph. I left my car with them for several hours today to get one installed and they were unable to do it. When asked why, I was told it’s because they don’t have proper tools and equipment. I was told their drill bits are low quality and that they keep breaking or are dull and unable to penetrate the metal. When I asked further questions I was told they are not mechanics and that their knowledge around vehicles is very limited. I was then disregarded as the employee went about his business. Saturday AM. Two reps at registers. I’m dropping off a trolly which cost me $10 to rent. However taking into account its cost about 2 hours of my time it’s not as inexpensive as I had hoped. Not sure why dropping off a $10 item takes 1 hour. They need to review their management and take customer time more seriously. Never using Uhaul again.

Here’s a fun one! If you’re looking to add to your personal MTO violations (of which I HAD none) you’ve come to the right place. I’ve rented many times from Uhaul but I think this was my last. Last weekend I rented a pick-up/trailer combo. On our way back on the 401 and as it began to get dark, the OPP pulled me over because the trailer had no taillights (brake lights were fine which is what we double checked in the daylight). We checked the connector (plugged in and out as suggested by their customer service) to no avail. So guess what? They gave me a ticket. $110!! For equipment I didn’t own. And that should be well looked after. Considering the rental was going to cost me $400 for the day. Heck no matter what, if you’re renting equipment that should be road worthy, it better be roadworthy. So, as it turns out, and here’s the insult to injury, the trailer wiring does not use the proper fused wiring as GM intended (manufacturer of the pickup). They run ALL the trailer running lights off the right rear pickup tail light which also stopped working. Yup, they told me, that’s how it’s done. Ok, so I guess the fuse in the fuse box that the road side assistance opened to check, labelled ‘TRL PARK’ aka ’trailer park lights’ and was not blown, is for what?? The sunroof or maybe the AC?? And its a heavier fuse as well to handle the high load of all the lights they put on trailers. And oh yeah, we sat in the dark for 3 hours while they struggled to find someone to come out and fix it as the police wouldn’t let me drive any further. And they refused any refunds on the rental to compensate for the mess and the fact I have to fight this darn ticket so it doesn’t cause who knows what grief later on. The one slightly bright light is they did refund $110 just to cover the ticket. And all of this on top of the fact they closed 2 hours earlier than posted the night before which was when I was reserved to pick it up. And that after I called their darn call centre to double check the hours!! After all, I’m sure they’ll respond to this review like they did on the phone with ‘well our policy is....’ ignoring the facts that the issue lies solely with their equipment. And I’m sure someone else will suffer the same fate. And when that person walks in to work through the same mess, I’m sure they’ll respond with ‘well our policy is...’. It actually would be funny if it was a sitcom not real life.

The only people that they checked on shelf or rack to make sure they have the hitch for 2006 vw jetta .Not only in system ( computer).In Winston Churchill they gave me wrong hitch. In Kitchener they are to lazy to move their ass from seat in front of computer to check. I drove 2 times come is here .Sorry is in system but we don't have any .Thanks to the lady who checked for me and she said yes is here in front of me .and the guy there in Guelph. Worst service ever. Don't be so sure about your reservation. They change your reservation at the time you go pickup vehicle. & will say sorry we don't have vehicle available. They did that to me and even they have charged me too. Their service is only for 1 to 2 hours rental. If you need for 1 to 2 days then never go there.

We were moving from city to city. We had had a few issues along the way with storage and the truck we had, it being a tad too small, however, that was completely unrelated to this U-Haul location. Nevertheless, we had some issues that needed to be ironed out, as it had not been a very pleasant day. Most moves are usually not pleasant experiences. However, once there, I was able to speak to Brandon, who listened and understood our issue. He was empathetic and without saying much, he got on the phone and helped us out immensely. He was able to easily upgrade our storage and taking advantage of some already agreed terms, was able to do so in a manner that also saved us some money, plus, some time. It was an example of the type of excellent customer service --not to mention, common sense and actually caring about your fellow man-- that makes costumers come back again and again. He went beyond of what we had expected, and for that, my partner and I were grateful. If management reads this, give Brandon a raise. :-) Also this instance I speak of, happened back in October 2019. However, I had not had the chance to write this review, but good deeds/service deserve to be highlighted. Also, if you read this, Thanks Brandon. You really helped us out. If we need to rent a truck or storage, we will go to this location first.

I have had nothing but trouble with Uhaul on Speedvale in Guelph. The last few months has been constant late notices when my account is paid, a lock put on my storage unit for no reason, I was then given a big whopping free month for my inconvenience and even that they couldn't get right...i got a late notice again. I'm so fed up and do not recommend this location.

Another bad experience with uhaul. I'm not sure if they over book their trucks or just enjoy sending their customers to different locations. I would understand if they would have called the night before (as they said they would) but no one called. When we arrived in the morning to pick up the truck we were sent 50km in the opposite way. They said they added a few more km on the trip for us but that doesn't help us much when we'll be another another hour spending wasting our own fuel to get there. Second time using uhaul and probably the last, just socks they seem to be the only company around in certain locations.

These are tough times with Covid 19 you can't get through to u-Haul by phone no one answers the phone .l ended up driving to 3 U- Haul dealers , one was closed and one didn't rent any more. The Speedvale location was the only open Dealer , I reserved a pickup truck and was quoted 49 cents a Km , but when I got the confirmation it was 59 cents a Km .Check in was slow they didn't even want to look over the truck before I took it every thing is done with your cell phone and emails , I made sure I took a paper copy as well. I was glad I got a truck but service was Poor

The rental process was easy and our short term rental (1.5 hours) was affordable. We were very impressed that the vehicles are fuel efficient models that come with features like an anti-idling feature that kicks in during long waits, like intersections where the traffic lights take a while to change. On the day that we needed a vehicle, there were several available. The vehicle we were loaned was clean and spacious enough for our needs. My partner found the briefing at the time of the rental to be helpful and the operation and handling of the vehicle to be easy and somewhat enjoyable. On return of the vehicle the return inspection was fast and we were on our way almost immediately. We would rent from U-Haul again in future.

Would have rated this 0 if there was an option. Rented a truck for 2 hours on Nov 1 2021. The $19.95 rate is attractive until you look under the hood. $0.59 per/km so unless you’re going just down the street prepare for AT LEAST double that. The after hours return is extremely convoluted. 0 explanation at the desk and they only tell you to go to Uhaul.com. You figure it out from there. It’s called a QR code folks take us to the relevant page. Drove 30km and put $10 of gas in it and after reporting the fuel gauge (using a sliding scale!!! With 4 options!!) they charged me $28 in gas on top. Absolutely absurd. All in all cost me $80 for 30km and 2 hours. You can rent a truck for the day from Enterprise for less. I wouldn’t recommend this business to my worst enemy. Am disputing the gas charges and can only imagine how obnoxious that process will be. Management if you’re reading this be more transparent about cost and give me a call. Just look at your last 3 months of rating 1 star after 1 star.Am beyond disappointed with my choice
