I had a great moving experience with Mike the Mover. I have used different movers in the past to move across the country and I've moved on my own as well renting a truck. I would not hesitate to call Mike the Mover again. I originally went to their location because I wanted to see how storage worked. The gentlemen in the office walked me through the warehouse and the process they take for storing items. I was moving from Kingston to Guelph. The day before my scheduled pick up they called to confirm times and they were in Kingston shortly after 9am on the day of pickup. The team was really professional and took great care of our items and never complained even though we had a fair bit of heavy workout equipment. On drop off day they were there at 7:30am which was great. Again they called the day before to set up a time I wanted. The movers laid down runners into the house and going up our stairs. They were quick but also really professional and took care of the items while bringing them in. I was originally quoted 18 hours to do the pickup in Kingston and delivery in Guelph but it ended up only being 16 hours so I was happy with that. Previous moves I paid per weight so time didn't matter with this move being charged hourly I was skeptical on the speed they would work but was not disappointed, they hustled.

Hello Dean: I wanted to send you a note to express our thanks to Gord, Ken, Jay-Jay and Nathan for the great job moving us to our new home in Rockwood on August 10th. In spite of the brutally hot and humid day, the guys really busted their butts for us. We had some very heavy and awkward pieces that were handled expertly. They also provided some unexpected but welcome comic relief (they likely need to hang on to their day jobs). We had no damage to the home or to any of our items and it was a very good experience overall. There is no doubt we will recommend Mike the Mover to anyone we know who will be moving. Booking the move was easy and we were provided with all the answers for our questions. The movers arrived promptly, discussed the plan for the day, were very careful with packages and furniture. They worked well together and were flexible enough to meet our families needs. They left the home we were vacating neat and tidy. When we arrived at our new residence they placed items where we asked and helped with set up. Given the uncertain times we were moving in I didn't know what to expect. I was so pleased to have the whole experience exceed my expectations for the day. Best move ever.

Mike the Mover will quote you a price and then change it once the move is done. In the process, expect people to be rough with your property and obnoxious about drinking alcohol while working. If you dare question the price after being practically catfished, be prepared for small claims court or to hurt your wallet. These guys are horrible and exemplify bad customer service to the point of arrogant bullying.

First off, I have to mention that this move of some furniture was under tight time frames; this company was able to squeeze me into their schedule without any great hassle. The team arrived right on time, they did the move very efficiently, and were done well within the allotted time (even though they did have some difficulty - which they overcame with no damage to the furniture - with the fairly small elevator door at the end destination). I am very satisfied with the overall experience, and will not hesitate to 1) call on them again, should the need arise; and 2) happily recommend the company to any friends who are planning a move.

We moved this october 1st, 2020 and yes they were on time but the men we had were a little slower than most movers. We had a punch bowl the got broken and our griddle was broken when it was moved as well. As christmas draws near we are looking for some decorations and cannot find an entire clear tote with a white lid FULL of christmas decorations! Overall rating is 2 stars. It was not a great moving experiance.

I'd like to start off by saying that I'm not surprised that there is another review for Mike The Movers that states they are "rude and condescending" I didn't even have the company booked and I immediately knew that I would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone I knew. I also didn't even want to leave one star, but unfortunately Google doesn't have the option of negative stars...because that's what I would've left. How you have customers that said you did even a remotely good job is baffling to me. Absolutely terrible and I am shocked you are still in business.

If I were to rate just the actual movers that did the move I would give 5 stars. The movers were careful, courteous, polite, respectful of our property, furniture and us. Where our experience waned was around the interaction with the office. When setting up the move I had given details of what was expected and that a competitor said it would require two trucks. I was told not to worry about it because Mike the Mover is bigger company and has bigger equipment and it would be all good. On moving day only one truck showed up which meant that part way through the morning a second truck had to be brought in at additional cost. Although they did discount part of the cost for the additional truck and crew it still was not what was expected since they said they are a bigger company with bigger equipment. Another thing that was unexpected was that I was over charged by $1000 compared to the invoice that I signed. I was informed about this by the office on the weekend and that they would drive out a cheque however on Monday they said I would need to drive to Guelph to pick it up or they would throw it in the mail. The final thing that detracted from the experience is the language of the person I talked to in the office. I didn’t hear the moving crew speak crudely at all or swear however in the few calls with the office the person I was dealing with they fully made up for this. Very unprofessional.

Our family has used Mike the Mover about 10 times now and they are excellent. There is never any damage to walls or items and the guys they send are really helpful and know what they are doing. They always lay down runners in the house to all areas they are removing items from. The prices are very reasonable and I never stress about moving when using this company because they always get the job done well and are very courteous. I would never use another moving company. I have used them 5 times in the last 5 years and am always very satisfied.

We used Mike the Mover to move our stuff into storage and then from storage to our new house in Guelph. On the latter move, one of the guys was drunk. He was quite obnoxious, smelled like alcohol, and used my bathroom 4 times in a 1 hour period. Perhaps related to the drunk guy was that we had several wine glasses broken and one box of glasses was missing. When we called about the drunk guy, we did get a discount but Russ at the office still did not believe me that he was drunk. Later he told me that he had one beer at lunch. Although I completely disagree that it was only one beer, Russ did admit that his employees drink alcohol shortly before a job. On top of that, I have received no phone calls to help with our missing box. There is definitely a feeling that you are not taken seriously. Although all moving companies struggle with the attitude of their employees, I would stay away from Mike the Mover.

We hired Mike the Mover on Wed May 22 to move some art and furniture that belonged to our dad who passed away recently. It was an emotional time for us and his belongings included valuable pieces as well as a lifetime of memories. Brock, Cory and Mike were a wonderful team who handled everything respectfully, professionally and with humour and genuine interest. The move included three destinations and this was handled efficiently and smoothly. Some of the belongings went into storage and the items were placed into a small space expertly and carefully. I am a very particular person and I felt very comfortable right from the start with Cory, Brock and Mike handling the move! Thanks guys for a great job!!

We moved three bedrooms from Mississauga to Guelph on a Monday, for about 6500 pounds of furniture. Our biggest fear was traffic on the 401 in either direction, as that can amplify hourly rates. Mike the Mover volunteered to start a crew for us at 6am, and avoided all of the worst traffic congestion! The moving crew of three men was a perfect formula; working with incredible efficiency and capable strength to load and unload our goods. Highlights worth summarizing: - Perfect English-speaking for each mover, which made communication simple. - Our prized bedroom set, solid wood weighing in at 2400 lbs., was moved up three flights of stairs with ZERO damage. Remarkable! - Friendly crew members who have clearly worked well together for a long time, kept our moods light-hearted while working tirelessly. - The brilliant timing and traffic avoidance completed our move for several hundred dollars under estimate. This is my first time hiring movers in Canada, and next time I need to move, I'll call these guys. I just know they're looking forward to moving that dresser again. :)

Very dissapointed. After a year of them moving my furniture into my house my bed frame broke. At first I thought it was just an accident. When I lifted up my mattress and box spring I realized they did not screw in any of the support boards. There is clearly holes and were meant to be screwed on.

With 2 days notice, Mike was able to put together a crew to move my mother into a retirement home. RJ and Cory T were early and got to work immediately, assessing the furniture and quickly developing a plan. I was able to get the new suite set up and ready to move in faster than I had planned. I will use Mike for the next move and request the same crew. Thanks Cory T and RJ A year has passed and my mother moved to long-term care. Again, with very short notice Mike's crew was able to pack and move her furniture from the retirement home to a Goodwill drop-off centre. Different works than last time but just as efficient. Last Wednesday ( May 31, 2017 ) we had had the pleasure of working with Mike the Mover Ltd. when they moved my elderly aunt from one seniors residence to another. This was a small move, basically a one bedroom apartment's worth of furniture and contents; they were hired to pack/move and unpack ( they do not put away small items ). The moving company truck and men arrived ahead of schedule. We had previously agreed on hiring a four man crew; even though the hourly rate would be higher, we hoped that it would be overall more efficient. Once they were out of the truck the men introduced themselves and promptly got too work. These were a hardworking and personable group of guys, who could best be described as "controlled lightning" . Everything went very well, they engaged with my aunt and made her very at ease. We had worried some before the move, because my aunt can be intimidated by strangers as well as having a somewhat " critical " disposition; there were no problems whatsoever. We only had a " ball park " quote from the company, but the final bill was bang on what we expected. We selected this company based on several word of mouth recommendations. I know that there has been a lot of negative stories in the media lately about the moving industry, while I believe that these stories are true , I suspect most of these stories are about people who shopped for the lowest price and got what they paid for. As in all things: shop locally, talk to your friends and neighbours, research with your feet not the keyboard. In closing- VERY PLEASED John F.
