Excellent. Sam and his son arrived on time and were able to move our washer and dryer across the city with no issues. They were both incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodated some additional boxes to move without issue. There were careful in both homes to ensure there was no damage. Would absolutely hire again. Probably the worst experience ever. The guy charged about double what normal 2 men and truck charge. To boot the guy sat in front of my residence until he received the email transfer. I was at work my wife was at home and he literally sat in front of the residence until the email reached him. Extremely unprofessional guy has not even provided a receipt.

The worst of all if there is less than one I could rate them I will do ... we moved with them couple of days ago...no responsibility at all however I wrote on each box to be careful and I clarify each color were to go .. they just care about finishing early which ended up with scratches on the dinning table .. they hit the ceiling... wall frame broke.. we asked them to take off their shoes inside the new house they didn't and I suddenly found that they used my rug to step on it with their shoes in a rainy day they said they don't have enough when we told them however when I went outsideto tell them about everything where to go I saw many blankets...beside they smell smoke .. they left some stuff at the house we were moving from ( we didn't check everything unfortunately)

These guys were amazing ! I had other movers booked in the Ottawa area who didn't show up and called Sam's Moving last minute at 7:00 PM the day of the move. They got ready, came over immediately, gave us a great price and moved everything that night without incident despite the short notice and thunder showers. The movers were amazing and in great spirits the entire time. Very thankful to them for helping me out on a very stressful day! I completely recommend to anyone who needs a movers last minute or for anyone planning a move.

Great service , the guys were SUPER fast and did everything we asked , at the end i gave them a 20$ tip each mover and i did not notice i had given a 20$ extra and they noticed my mistake and came back to give me my extra 20$ Very honest people would recomend ! I am using them again for the 2nd move .

Do not recommend. The men arrived 4 hours late, and did not call to tell me that there was a change in schedule. They even moved my appointment time up an hour, so I was expecting them at 12 PM, but the arrived at 4:15PM. I had previously requested they wear masks while in my home and was told they could not work while wearing a mask, I insisted and masks were put on. The men then hustled to get the job done, but were very unpleasant to deal with. I would highly suggest using anyone but this company.

I had booked another moving company for my load/unload but they didn’t show up. After an hour of searching the internet, I stumbled upon Sam’s moving. They were very quick to dispatch 2 movers to me within the hour to help me unload my truck up 3 flights of stairs to my new place. The 2 young gentlemen they sent were very efficient and got the truck unloaded in just over an hour. Highly recommend and they will be my first choice for movers when I move in the Ottawa region again.

I wish I had of read the reviews before I agreed to use these guys but I forgot, I'll never forget again.... Worse company ever!! The owner himself is a crook. They were supposed to show up with a 26' moving truck but instead showed up with a 20' enclosed trailer with half the cubic space. When everything wouldn't fit they tried to change their price from $750 to $2000so I told them to forget it and drop the few things they had loaded. They demanded $525 for an hour's work and then held my stuff hostage. I had to call the police to get them to release it. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS.

Used these guys for two moves: myself and my mother. I would give them NEGATIVE STARS if I could! Stay away from these unprofessional con artists. Strike 1: 45 minutes late for truck loading #1. Strike 2: more than 2 hours late for truck unloading the next day. My boyfriend and I had to offload half the truck as we had no clue who/when/if was actually coming. Strike #3: broke several wine glasses despite them being carefully wrapped and noted as fragile multiple times. Those small rubbermaid boxes were loaded sideways in the truck (so no wonder they broke!) Strike #4: tried to scam me for costs and tried to make me pay for their services they didn’t render while I had to offload the truck myself due to their serious lateness. Insisted on cash to avoid taxes. The owner offered a $100 discount for these issues towards my mother’s move and claimed the issues were because someone in the company was in the hospital. Strike 5: broke the glass on a valuable antique cabinet that was shipped from overseas, causing several hundred dollars worth of damage on mother’s move. Strike 6: tried to scam my mother for cost, not accounting for $100 discount for first move issues and not accounting for $130 deposit. Eventually corrected this but this is two attempts at scamming. Again insisted on cash to avoid taxes, went as far as following my mother to the bank to retrieve cash. Strike 7: contacted them for repairing the broken glass cabinet. They sent me a blank moving contract to fill in after the fact (which they never provided before either of the moves), instead of something for a claim for the damage they caused. Ignored me when I requested a correct form. Damage they caused is $520!!!!! Stay away from Sam’s moving. Any positive reviews must be fake. I’m also pretty certain they’re not an actual moving company but are a broker for random labourers. Edit: Five months after the initial criminal service and this review, they decided to post on here that “they’re sorry and willing to remedy the situation”. I contacted them again for the upteenth time about it and they have again decided to ignore/ghost. These CRIMINALS belong in prison. Every one of them.

I hired Sam's moving for a move on Sunday. I had a lot of construction at my home and as a result the truck could not get in the driveway. I called the movers to let them know and they said it was not a problem. They showed up on time and moved all of my items into the truck within an hour. Sam even brought a 3rd mover to help. They were very helpful with placing my items into storage and always had a great work ethic while on the job. The guys were pleasant to be around, very polite and very professional. I would definaly recommend using these movers! Thanks again Sam for such a great experience!

I would give them zero stars if I could ... Despite confirming a few days before our move, the movers were no-shows. Sam's Moving seemed unwilling to work with me to find a solution. This was supposed to be a fast (2hour max) move and I just needed movers, no truck. I was willing to pay for the 2 hours plus one for travel; approximately $250 plus taxes. 20 minutes after their scheduled arrival, I called to see what time I should expect the movers, I was informed that they would be about an hour, maybe two hours late! I had to call; they didn't feel it important to warn me they were behind schedule! And it wasn't easy to call them; the first phone number I called (from their e-mail) was a wrong number and the second number connected me with someone who was had to continually confirm with his father (?) what the plan was. I asked them to confirm the earliest they could get me movers, the called back almost an hour into the move to say that they could probably get two guys in the next half-hour (90 minutes into the move that should have taken no more than 120 minutes) so they recommended meeting us at the unload location. At this point, I asked what this would cost me and they reminded me that they had a two hour minimum plus an hour for travel. I informed them that I needed less than an hour of work now (having done all the loading myself) and suggested that they should revise their pricing options. They suggested paying for 2.5 hours instead which still seemed totally unreasonable as I now had less than 60 minutes of moving left. The Sam's Moving representative started to get angry with me about how they were losing money as they would have to pay the movers an hour regardless of if I used them or not! I said I was willing to to pay for the hour and only the hour (having learned that their movers were actually a few minutes from the unload location). The representative then started saying that he was not going to make any money off this move and that I was being unreasonable. I found the whole interaction very frustrating, not only did I have to do the whole move by myself, but Sam's Moving seemed totally unwilling to come to a reasonable compromise and make-up for the fact that they were basically no-shows. I would not recommend this company. They do not seem to understand that booked appointments should be kept and if they are not, then proactive outreach is vital. Moreover, they should focus on the client, instead I was berated for the fact that they would lose money!

I am very happy to have had the service of Sam and his team. They we're quick to reply to my message and to book me in. I needed to move a very heavy treadmill to the basement, and Sam and his team we're extremely careful and knowledgeable in disassembling part of the treadmill and finding the best way to move it without any damage to our home. It was awful. They arrived late, inly brought 2 guys for the move (even after I sent a detailed sheet of what we had to move), the trailer barely fit our stuff, they took about 4 smoke breaks and a 45 min break moving us out. My husband and I ended up doing it. Then moving us in it took over 3 hours! They said it was because of the elevator. Finally they called a 3rd guy who didn't do anything and I finally said "shouldn't one person just stay in the elevator loading and unloading?". Clueless. Cheap...but at what cost?

Worst movers ever. They gave me a flat rate and then when they showed up they said I had to much stuff and they wanted $100 more. I am on disability and have less furniture than most. On top of that they were in a big rush and throwing my bags down the stairs. After all was said and done I noticed that the new pack of toilet paper I bought was missing and so was my laundry detergent. Bunch of thieves. I will never use them again.

Scam artists they told me $300 for 3 movers 3 hours but they charged me $450. Came 30 mins late finished up everything in 2 hrs but brought in 2 more movers last minute and said they're charging extra cause they brought in more movers. I don't recommend them to anyone. Also the pictures show a big truck but they only bring a small trailer.

They where punctual. First thing was they mentioned extra guy I said I was quoted 3 guys not 4. Damaged BBQ, tore lamp shade. The movers just threw boxes everywhere no organzation. I had kitchen boxes upstairs. Hard working guys. I would not recommend them.

In April, I called Sam's moving to book a couple of movers to help me pack a shipping container at the end of August. Flash-forward to six days before my move, and I'm notified that my booking has been cancelled because they received a bigger order. To their credit, they told me that they would come in the evening for the same day as my original booking (rather than early afternoon, as originally booked)... but only if I paid for an extra hour than was originally agreed upon. I understand that businesses have a bottom line to maintain, but I find it very unprofessional that this company tried to hustle me less than a week before my move. This is especially true given that I had booked with them months in advance. Very disappointed by this, and I opted to go elsewhere.

Most unreliable and unprofessional movers I ever encountered. They canceled our moving appointment two days before the moving date , even though we made the appointment two months ago. Their reason was they found a bigger moving job and was poor business wise. So if you decide to go with these guys, just pray that they didn’t find any other jobs who offer more money than you.

Sam was absolutely amazing in our time of need.i had scheduled another moving company(I will write that review tomorrow), ???? , but they didnt show up at all! So me and my husband did what we could which was about half the house. Were not scoring chickens and we are office workers, lol. Sam showed up within the hour, an helped us late into the evening! Sam’s Moving Company is very professional. They reached out ahead of time to confirm the date and contacted me with an ETA prior to their arrival. Their help with moving between apartments really helped take some stress off my shoulders. The movers are really kind and always double checked with me on how I would like my things placed. The cost of their services is completely justified by their work. I very highly recommend their services!

Longer hours then quoted, brought and extra guy which cost me more per hour. Expecting day to cost 270, turned out to be 440. Very friendly and efficient. Not that I wouldn't recommend but I will go with someone else next time.
