I called Bill's Budget Moving from Montreal after seeing on a map that they were actually closest to the University where I had to move my daughter from one location to another approximately four weeks later. A man who I assume was Bill took my reservation, and I learned that he also specializes in student moves. Five days before the move I called to confirm the times etc, and a woman replied with all the details I had originally given, repeated back my contact number as well as my daughter's, and even gave me the names of who would be doing the move. How professional and reassuring to know that nothing had been missed. On the day of the move, I drove to Kingston to find out that they had actually arrived early and had begun, and since they knew that my daughter would not have access to the new place until a certain time, assured me that the clock would stop, and resume again when they would be able to unload. The movers were polite, and most importantly, very careful of the goods, as well as the walls when moving the larger furniture. Moves can be high tension, but this entire experience was a pleasure. I highly recommend Bill's Budget Moving. I had previously called other local movers, and the difference in attitude over the phone on the initial call was apparent. Student moves are not large moves, and I assume very often that many students are hardly ready when the movers arrive, which I believe is why I got the feeling that these other companies were not really interested. Bill's was different, and does many student moves as well as larger moves. Oh yes - did I mention? His price was very fair compared to the other companies I had called. Need to move? Definitely call Bill's!

Broke our 50" flat screen, a $700 office desk, another desk, scratched furniture items, broke an expensive armoire and stopped responding us when we followed up to express our disappointment. Also blamed us for them breaking the $700 desk by claiming it was ""bad quality"". The worst part is that they didn't even have the decency to be honest about the things they scratched and broke aside from the desk (and I'm sure they were only honest about the desk because they DROPPED IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF US)- they just quietly dropped off the other broken items and we had to find out ourselves. And again, despite having broken MULTIPLE items they have been UNRESPONSIVE to our attempts at contact. Only use them if you have no high-value or sentimental items. If you want cheap (in terms of quality because they charged us full price of course) service and broken furniture, go here!

Too long. Broken, damaged items. The staff that were sent were nice people but not experienced movers. We were told we would be getting 3 experienced movers along with a suitable truck for an hourly rate of $162.00. Their inexperience meant they were not efficient and the move took much longer than it should have. We ended up having to pay for 11 hours when it should have taken more like 7-8. The movers ignored our suggestions as to how to be efficient and ended up having to backtrack and go up and down stairs way more than they needed to. Apparently the most experienced staff member had to work at another job and so one of the guys girlfriends came in his place instead - she was nice but had no moving experience. After the move we have since found a broken lamp, scratches on our bedroom furniture, difficulty finding items because they were left in the wrong location, and the loss of a cooler full of meat that was left in the garage by the movers who placed other items around and on top so we had no idea it was there. I wish I could post the smell in our garage. I contacted Charlie several times without response. I finally did get a response and he said he would contact me a few days ago to set up a time to come and review the damage and discuss the move. He has not done so even with a reminder email sent. It is coming up to three weeks since we moved. I am hopeful that Charlie will respond and reimburse us for the food loss, the damages and a couple hours of time. If he does, I will edit this post to reflect that. We recognize that everyone can make mistakes and have a bad day. That is not the issue - the issue is how you handle it. Charlie - how are you going to handle this? NEW INFO: So further to my previous review, I sent the review to Charlie via email on Wednesday after he didn't respond or contact me earlier in the week. I asked him to respond so we could resolve the matter and I would edit my review. It is now Friday and no response. If you are going to use this moving service, make sure you don't pay in full at the end of the move - do a hold back and wait for a couple days until you have gone through all your items and furniture to ensure they are in good condition. That seems to be the only way you will receive any resolution since Charlie is non-responsive.

A few scratches and dings of damage to both new and old apartments, even though I was told by my building we had the elevator for two hours, there was someone else who wanted to move a half hour after we got there, not my fault but the movers I hired seemed rushed. The damage to my new place could have been avoided by taking their time & being more careful. One guy was awesome enough to fix my wobbly lamp at least, no damage to my belongings. I guess it depends on personal preference what someone would rather have damaged, I'm kind of on the fence, I like my things but I'm liable for damage to my apartments

Broke furniture and hid it by putting stuff around it. Made a hole in the wall and told me it was a scuff marks. I emailed about a claim with no response.

Hired for help with unloading a truck and moving in to my apartment. Was a difficult move up 3 flights of stairs with some heavy furniture. Team was great, very punctual and very professional. Got the job done quicker than expected. Mike and Anthony were great to work with

I highly recommend Bill's Budget moving. We had a wonderful moving experience today. The gentlemen who moved us were pleasant, courteous and went above and beyond to accommodate us when a request was made. Charlie ( owner) is also very pleasant to deal with and his prices are more than fair. The move was done within the allotted time he presented and the price that he estimated did not change. I would refer friends and family to use Bill's Budget Moving any day.

I used these movers to move into my house this past weekend. I obtained several estimates but Charles responded promptly with a detailed reply and had the most competitive estimate. They sent three movers who worked incredibly hard, were very courteous and careful. I felt as though I had a lot to move, but I was charged the minimum amount of the estimate I was provided. They also advised me right away when there was an issue getting some furniture up the stairs at my new place and helped me make arrangements so I wasn't left high and dry. I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for an efficient, hard working team.
