TERRIBLE MOVING COMPANY!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. GO ELSEWHERE. The movers showed up at my home 3 hours later then the expected time of arrival. They showed up with 2 men instead of 3 (It was agreed that they would arrive with 3 men at $125/hr) They still tried to charge me $125/hr for the 2 men. After fighting tooth and nail with the owner, I finally negotatied a price of $95+ tax which is still very over priced. One of their employees broke my glass tabletop. Told me he was picking up a box and hit the glass with his hip. The owner refused to reimburse me becuase it was "the vibrations of the floor" To top it all off, the owner instructed his team to leave with half of my belongings in their truck unless I paid him $240 upfront, and only then would they give me my belongings back. After refusing to do so, they left with my stuff in the back of their truck. I had to wait 24 hours to get my belongings back, and was advised my the police to pay the $240 , and then proceed to take them to civil court. THE WORST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. NO SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WILL SQUEEZE EVERY LAST PENNY OUT OF YOU. NO HONESTY, TRUST, COMPASSION OR SENSE OF DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!!
This site makes it extremely difficult and next to impossible to have fraudulent reviews removed , having been made either by competitors and or just someone that has a bone to grind . I cannot respond to those that have never been a customer and I have at least 1/2 dozen negative reviews by those that are not customers presently or in the past . We have been offering our moving and relocation service for almost 30 years in Eastern Canada including Saint John and Fredericton and pride ourselves in providing excellent customer relations and second to none service . Our professional moving teams go above and beyond to meet all our customers needs . Please contact our office and we will provide you hundreds and hundreds of satisfied customers and a 98 % success rate in meeting all our customers needs of both past and present and hopefully you in the future . So potential customers , please understand how easy it is for competitors or mean spirited people to spread false rumors and false information on this site . I thought posting this would be easier than reaching a robot on a computer ( and believe me I have tried )
This company had made our move out to new brunswick a terrible experience. We had first started emailing jeff smith at the beginning of may with a list of our items(exact) and 2 quotes were given to us, expedited and non expedited. My husband and i decided to go with the non expedited due to the cost of moving and that there was a difference of almost $2500 in price. We were willing to wait the extra allotted time, which in emails, was stated it would be 10 days from pick up. Our quote for non expedited service was $2290. At that point we gave a $700 deposit. He then responded by email on May 22, stating we owe $3580.19 for expedited service. I then responded by email, and later by phone, that we were getting the non expedited service. on may 23, jeff responded stating that we owe 1933.50 for the non expedited service. On may 31 i e transferred another $1000, which would have left a balance of $933.50 that was to be paid on pick up. The movers were supposed to come on the 25th of june. Then was stated that they would be there on the 28th of june @ 1pm. When i called at 1pm, jeff stated that they were 3 hrs away and probably could not make it that say and would be there first thing in the morning on saturday. keep in mind, that we were supposed to be on the road, heading for our new house in new bruswick saturday morning. The movers showed up at 11am on saturday, and by the time they were complete, it was 3:30pm. The driver of the truck stated that jeff smith claimed we owed him $2580 and that the quote and square footage did not change. i proceeded to explain that i only owed $933.50 (as stated by jeff in email) therefor i did not pay at that point. On july 2nd, jeff smith emailed me stating to contact him. This was 8am in the morning. When i phoned him, he stated that it may be to late to get our furniture now, and that we owed him $2580 for the expedited service. I continuously explained that it was in email from myself and him that i was to be getting the non expedited service and that i absolutely do not owe that much. He then continued to explain reasons that did not make sense as to why it was expedited service now and that if i didn't pay, they were going to take all my things off the truck, occur more charges and that i would see my thing at the end of the month. I have an young child who needed furniture and a suitable home to be living in. i proceeded to pay the $2580 and my things came later that day. Within the quote it stated that furniture was to be disassembled and reassembled. Nothing was reassembled and some of my things were broken. This move has been the most stressful encounter ever. The fact that i had to pay the $2580 of extra expense, i needed to borrow money in order to live.Not to mention the fact that i am 7 months pregnant and absolutely not healthy. I have filed a report with all this information to the RCMP of Moncton, new brunswick and they informed me that if there were others out there that were a victim of Jeff smith, to please call them and file a report. They said if there were others out there with similar situation and that they can see a pattern with him, they will proceed with criminal charges. Also, if anyone has an actual address as to where Jeff smith can be contacted, please email me. I have filed a case with the small claims court.
DO NOT give this company your credit card number. Jeff Smith the owner is a fraud. I was quoted just under $1000, once he had possession of my belongings he refused to release them until I paid over twice the estimate. Jeff is extremely unprofessional and childish. There is a file open on him with the Moncton police for fraud!!!
Uncommunicative and terse emails, Late delivery, Damaged furniture and boxes, lost inventory sheet, and delivered to me something that belonged to another person.
This company represented to me, everything that folks have concerns and worries over! No integrity, dishonest, disorganized, sloppy and and ureliable. If you do business with this company, put absolutely everything in writing leaving nothing to chance. I felt like I was dealing with the mob!
I have never used this company or even heard of it but as I was going through the reviews; I noticed the OWNER of the company replying very rudely and inappropriatly to the majority of reviews. As a new customer, I was going to ignore the bad reviews and give the company a try for myself,But upon seeing the owner be this petty and childish, I will take my business else where and not recommended anyone ever working with this man. Anyone interested in using this company that is reading the reviews, make sure you read the owners comments as well. This will show you the true side to the man's personalty. He is probably great to work with until you make him angry or do something he doesn't like and I can only assume he then becomes childish and ignorant as he showed with his comments.
This is Nicole responding to you. First off Jeff, The fact that my HUSBANDS Caribbean ethnicity was brought into this is absolutely appalling. If my husband was Caucasian, it would never have been brought up in the manner you did. Thank you Jeff for reminding us of the FIRST email that you believe benefits you. I was contacted my Jeff Smith informing me of the troubles he has been having with people whom he does know or why , have been spamming his google advertisement . I am more than willing to help . I have had his company move items for myself and family members over the years within Fredericton and to Ottawa and have always been very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of both he and his staff . I highly recommend Smart Movers .
Pricey but deliver as promised . Just moved to Nova Scotia recently . These were the only guys that could pickup in Welland Ontario and make delivery to Halifax within a week . Staff are professional , pleasant and knowledgeable . I highly recommend.

This was my second time using Totten's Moving. Moving can be a stressful time let alone moving from province to province, so when it came time to move from Bowmanville ON to Halifax NS I called up Jeff and got my move date set and booked. Jeff and his crew made the move as stressless as possible. To anyone looking for a Mover on a long distance move I would recommend Totten's moving. Thanks Again Jeff !
