I arranged the move for my daughter on three weeks notice and they were able to accommodate. Jeff took the time to answer my questions before and after making arrangements for the move. The move was professional, efficient and they took care not to damage anything. It was a winter day and carpets were laid to protect flooring. All in all a stress free move. Very pleased. I was anxious because I was unable to help given Covid, but we would not hesitate to recommend or use Smart Moving again in future given our experience.

I hired Smart Movers to move me from Fredericton to Halifax. The prices were fantastic and the guys that moved me were awesome and efficient. However, dealing with Jeff the manager was a bit frustrating. I was booked to move on a holiday and when I asked if that would be a problem he said it was fine. He informed me a few days before my moving date that they are closed for the holiday. No apology. No recognition that it was his mistake. There were other people going with me on my move to Halifax, so it disrupted their schedules as well as my own. We ended up moving the following day and it did end up working out in the end. I was able to rearrange electric and internet hookups but it was an inconvencince that could have been avoided with proper communication.

I cannot respond to those that have never been a customer and I have at least negative reviews by those that are not customers presently or in the pass . So please potential customers please understand how easy it is for competitors or mean spirited person can leave false information on this site . They were hired to move 2 rooms of boxes and furniture. They didn't show up until 7:30pm. Took nearly two hours to load the 2 rooms ( small rooms in a small 2 bedroom apartment), refused to unload until I sent the the $517.50 ( on top of the 402.50 I had already sent for the non refundable deposit). They brought everything in and essentially dumped everything in our living room/kitchen and left. Very few items actually ended up being put where they were suppose to be. I've moved 12 times in 14 years and have never paid over $550 for a full move and that was a full apartment situation.

I had moved out of New Brunswick for about a year, and a half, I moved back to my home City of Fredericton in 2011, and then moved into the old apartment at 333 Cliffe Street. I contacted Smart Movers to do the moving job. They came, and packed all of my furniture, and other belongings, they packed everything securely,and moved everything in one trip. They were extremely professional, and Courteous, and they evening set every thing up for me at my new apartment. The price, I was charged, was more then fair, and I would highly recommend them to all of my family, and friends.

Jeff was polite over the phone and was responsive via email. The cost is very reasonable as well but something didn’t sit right with me - the deposit was much higher than all other companies I had spoken to as well, he requested credit card information sent to his personal email. When I asked why as all other companies do not do this he said for payment. This made sense but assured him we would pay upon drop-off, in which he informed me that full payment is due upon pick-up. This is different from ALL other companies as how are you to guarantee your stuff will arrive? This seems very strange to me and because of this we did not go with this company.

I was given an estimate which ended up being twice as much in the end. They wouldn't unload my stuff until I paid them another hours worth of work. They still had a half hour left and they ended up finishing the job a half hour early but I ended up still having to pay twice. We won't be using this company again.

Jeff is a scam artist. He quotes low and then doubles the cost and refuses to release your belongings until you pay. He is EXTREMELY racist and refuses to pay workers what they are owed. He thinks it’s funny to get people’s belongings and then withhold them to double profits. He puts fake reviews on here to try to cover up the scam artist he is. DO NOT use smart movers unless you are willing to pay DOUBLE the quote. Jeff is childish and Abusive to everyone and anyone. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever had dealings with.

We had a very poor experience with the owner of the company, Jeff Smith. When everything was loaded, although not discussed previously, he said we had to make the payment in full right then and when we said this was not discussed before, he took liberty of making the transaction himself as I had given him the credit card information on the phone before to pay the deposit. He also said we were taking more than he was shown even though he had come to see our house twice and was shown everything that was being taken. Later, I got to see the sheet of his estimation that his workers left behind at our house by accident and saw his underestimation and that he had written down less than he was shown such as fewer boxes. One day before the delivery day as the truck was on the road, he charged us extra $785 for "taking more than what he was told" and threatened us to make the payment otherwise the truck full of our stuff would be sent back to Fredericton. When we resisted and disagreed with the charge, he swore at me and my family and hung up and right after, again for a second time, took money out of the credit card without our permission and shamelessly sent a "Thank you for your recent payment" email. Despite my many requests, he refrained from giving me a paper copy of the agreement and said everything would be in the emails (even though emails lacked details such as the insurance coverage and payment plan). Also when I originally requested to show up in person to pay for the deposit, he said he'd rather receive the bank card information on the phone to make the payment (which he fully took advantage of later twice to make payments without our permission). People that worked for him were amazing and delivered everything without a scratch but I don't recommend having any business with the owner as ultimately he is the one making estimates and the one taking care of payments.

First I want to say that the company and staff were excellent, friendly and I had my things delivered with no damage at all. Reason for my lower rating: When I initially contacted the company to move from a one bedroom to another one bedroom I was asked to provide a list of my furniture and given a quote. The quote I was given was only a few hundred dollars more than renting a u-haul and doing everything by myself so I went ahead and booked. I was told I would get a discounted rate if I was willing to be flexible with my pick up and drop off dates (which I was) . The quote I was given was between $1300 and $1500 depending on square footage (which I understand) . My final price (which I didn’t receive until 15 minutes before the movers showed up at my door) was about $3400 (again because of square footage) and I was told “it is what it is” when I expressed that that was significantly more than I had anticipated. My advice to anyone looking to hire a moving company - make sure you know the square footage of your belongings so you get an accurate quote and don’t end up paying over double what you thought you would have to pay.

Me and my family had a terrible experience with the owner of this company, Jeff. The people who works for him are wonderful but not him. He came over to our house twice and exactly saw what we had in the house and gave us the price. He did not show up on the delivery date and after everything was loaded he claimed that we had more than what he expected... one day before the delivery date he asked us to pay almost 750$ extra which we did not agree on and he started swearing over the phone and on top of that WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION he used the same credit card we paid the first deposit and took money out of our credit card TWICE, once for the full amount and the second time for that extra 750$ even though i specifically mention over the phone that he can not use that credit card. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION to him because he goes ahead and takes money out of it without your permission.

Jeff and his team made our move seamless. I had heard how stressful a move can be, it was anything but. Stuff was disassembled, packed, loaded, unloaded, and reassembled by the team and in no time. In the lead up to the move day, Jeff was always available over the phone and very responsive. His team members took good care of all the items and nothing was broken or damaged in this entire exercise. If there is one gripe that I have, it is that I was initially given a quote (over email) of $200 per hour for a 3 man team , but on the day I was charged $225 per hour. So do get this clarified at the onset.

Finally they relented and shifted there schedule around to fit me in as my house closing was less than 24 hours away . i am very sorry for being a pain for them . Despite our move being the morning after a major snowstorm, the crew showed up ready. They treated our furniture and awkward/heavy belongings with respect and damaged nothing. well, i had to deal with this company few times ago to move from NB to Québec and ...i don't even know where to start. This was a pain in the neck from the very beginning. i had to move an entire house. it all start with a total absence of on site appraisal, not even an excel sheet to list items and squarefootage. Jeff and i had conversation over the phone in order for him to have an idea of the job, someone had to show up a week prior the move. no one showed up, of course. the result is that the truck that showed up at 1 pm instead of 8 am was too small. the movers had to make several travels to their local storage to end the loading around midnight. Movers were still in my house and already insisting for payment over the phone. i then realized that provided fees were blurry and plenty of unexpected charges showed up, especially for storage. i paid for this move. when came the time of the move in and haul my furniture to destination, the whole experience suddenly turned into an hostage situation! Basically, Jeff made me understand that if i want to get my stuff back i will have to pay upfront otherwise i will have to hire another company and he will charge me more storage time. Jeff keep REITERATING that upfront payment is common use in moving industry. This is a common use to pay for something you don't have properly done yet, you don't pay upfront services, not even in moving instry. i won't mention broken items (TV set, Lamps, frames...)and the lazy answer i had from Jeff regarding her insurances to cover expenses for broken items :it was between "you should have ask us to protect your furniture more adequately (of course there is a fee) and" here's a tutorial from Youtube to fix your TV set yourself". Moving is not funny, but with this company and Jeff it all turn into a nightmare. This is an absolute AVOID BY ANY MEANS as per me.

Very happy with the service and the cost! I had 2 pianos to move in one day - each piano had a different starting and ending location. Jeff Smith managed to get this set up for me within a few days notice and was very pleasant and professional to deal with. The piano moving crew (Chris, Dean and one other fellow whose name I did not get) were great! Obviously they had done this many times and were very professional and friendly along with being focused on safety and consideration of the properties the pianos were being moved from and to. I highly recommend these folks and would definitely call upon them again!

I’ve moved between provinces, territories and across Canada. You will always pay more than your movers quote. Your belongings will get broken; the only difference is the severity and frequency. Your move will not be on time as movers always overbook. That said - this company didn’t have any ‘secret surprise costs’ the move was just $500 more than the quote. The movers work hard and are under pressure. There are definitely worse companies out there. I wish there was some industry regulation. That said, I’d use them again because at least it wasn’t $3000 over the quote.

They were highly professional throughout the otherwise quite stressful process of moving from one province to another. Communication with them was easy, their preliminary quote was exact, there were no unpleasant surprises, and the two movers were respectful and careful, and - as a bonus - had a great sense of humor. Fantastic job. Found Jeff to be frank and straightforward, explained everything and the variables that drive cost of the move. Based on the estimate of my contents Jeff provided a quote which turned out to be right on the money for the actual cost of the move. So absolutely no surprises. His guys Louis and Godfrey were amazing, punctual, extremely careful with my stuff and there was no damage or breakage whatsoever. My recent move from Toronto to Moncton, was all done and finished in 4 days. Picked up in Toronto July 3rd and dropped off in Moncton July 7th. The other big national moving companies claimed it was impossible to pick up in one city and redeliver in another city in less than 14 days. Mine was done and finished in 4 days. Again all I can say is fantastic job to Jeff and his team, I would highly recommend them!

First, I want to start by saying the movers themselves were absolutely wonderful. They were kind and so helpful. Jeff on the other hand has been a nightmare to work with. When I originally asked him for a quote he told me 200 and some would be taken out of my credit card as a deposit, the other 300 would come out at the time of pick up. Imagine my surprise when I saw a 400 dollar charge to my credit card. Although I let this go as everything would go towards the same order. However things went from bad to worse. I sent him an e-mail with some questions, after a few days he hadn't answered so I called to check in, he told me to e-mail him again and if he hadn't answered in three days to call back. A week went by with no answer, so I called again, at this point he became incredibly rude, as I had already paid 400 dollars I felt stuck so continued on with this company. I asked him about a receipt as I only got a receipt for the last payment (not the deposit) he assured me I'd get a receipt for the whole amount as soon as my things were delivered to me. My things have now been here for a week, and I have not received my receipt, despite e-mailing him to ask about it (no response). Jeff is incredibly unorganized, rude and untrustworthy. I'm glad my things got here safely but again, I owe that to the movers who were phenomenal.

We had an excellent experience with this company. Their price was competitive with others but one thing that attracted us was most of the same crew that packed and loaded our goods were the same people who unloaded and helped us move into the new residence. Our move happened very quickly and Jeff and his team did their best to accommodate us. We have a few family heirlooms and these were packaged very carefully with no breakage. Chris and Louis were great getting us moved and unloaded even though it had been an exhausting day for them. The only thing I might mention was that they arrived a little too early but it's much easier to deal with this as a non event rather than our stuff arriving late. We think this was one of the advantageous of having the same crew load and unload your stuff. Ours was a long distance move and covered 2 of Canada's biggest provinces ... in total 1950 kilometers. ????

BEWARE this company is a fraud under different names. The owner Jeff Smith, will give you a great deal over the phone but once he has your credit card info beware . He agreed to move one load of furniture from my previous house to the new house providing 3 men for an hourly rate of $55.00 per man with no travel charges because he was already moving the buyers into my old house and was in the area and was already paid travel fees. It is 15 Kilometers from the old house to the new one . I gave a deposit on my credit card for $297.50, big mistake. They arrived at the old house 7 hours late OK, only two men available with a cube van which could not hold the furniture I needed to move. Now for the best part this guy charged my credit card in the middle of the night before the move was even completed for $1413.50. When I finally got in touch with this guy through numerous calls with no return I managed to find a different number but when I identified myself he started screaming at me calling me vulgar names and threatening to sue me for everything I own and then he hangs up without me being able to say anything. I could go on with more but I think you will get the message. I even had to give this guy one star to be able to post but doesn't deserve it.

Both there office and delivery driver kept me posted as to day and time of delivery . All the furniture items were properly wrapped and handle . Highly professional and will use this service again .
