My experience with Suddath Relocation Systems is perfect. Josh Santos, the National Accounts Coordinator is super nice and professional. He is very easy to communicate and straight to the point. He can be reached by both email and phone call easily, and he is always quick in responses. I would give Josh and his team a five star for making this moving experience so effortless with a very reasonable price.

Suddath was professional and detail-oriented with packing and delivering our stuff to Portland. They used United Van Lines, and the drivers were courteous and polite. My one grievance is that they took 3 weeks to deliver our stuff from pick-up date (to their credit, they did give us a 2-week window in which they expected to deliver, and our stuff was delivered at the end of that time frame.) Additionally, I took off one star because Lucinda "Lou" Salvo was very uncommunicative in the beginning and short with her emails. There were a couple of times that she did not acknowledge emails/phone calls. I had to call her several times a day before the move, because I did not have any inkling of the packers' arrival time (and had to ensure I was going to be home.) I can understand that she is busy with other moves, but when your company is paying close to $5k to move you across states, you expect some common courtesy. To Lou's defense, her demeanor did improve after I casually complained to the office staff. In essence, I would use Suddath again, but might choose a different move coordinator the next time around.

Josh Santos made my move painless. A inventory of my items and their conditions was taken before the move, and movers ensured that each one was present on arrival. There was no damage. Josh was incredibly polite and very easy to reach by email and phone; he also gave me a couple updates on when my items were expected to arrive while they were in transit. Suddath even kept my items for a day at no charge because I still had to fly into Portland. My employer covered relocation expenses and allowed choosing among Graebel, Mayflower, United, and northAmerican. I checked a review site and noticed all these movers had terrible ratings, but United was the best of the lot, so I went with United expecting zilch. I was pleasantly surprised, but my experience may apply only to Suddath, the United agent in Portland, OR. If you're moving to Portland, Suddath is the way to go.

I have moved around a lot for my career and Suddath is by far the best experience I have had. I moved across 5 states and the movers at both locations were kind, efficient, and professional. I had some hiccups with my new address and my moving coordinator Josh Santos was exceptional throughout this whole process- very kind, responsive, professional, and efficient. Moving is a very stressful and time-consuming experience, and Josh was very understanding and helpful. I would definitely recommend Suddath and would not hesitate to use their services again.

Updating my review below - thank you Teresa for the follow-up! I was able to pick up a cancellation and received my mother-in-laws stuff this morning. Mike and Barbara from United Van Lines in Massachusetts were helpful in connecting the dots. The movers from Suddath - led by Kurt - were all three wonderful. I'll just dock one start for the challenges initially getting someone to call me back or find my mother-in-laws reservation. It was a complicated situation and awkward timing with the pandemic and vacations. ... I've been trying to get information on my mother-in-law's shipment for over a week. I've spent so much time on the phone but no one has responded to me giving any helpful information, except for the original moving company in Rhode Island/Massachusetts. I completely understand that these are tough times and you are likely busy, but to have zero response after over a week of trying is extremely frustrating and disappointing.

PCS from California to New Mexico and my household goods (HHG) cannot be located or tracked. I was given an inconvenience claim phone number but no one was answering. Pick up was October 30th and our contracted date for delivery was November 13th, and today we are still waiting to find out where our order is. Made another call November 16th, still cannot find out where our HHG are located. Unsatisfactory service. Unacceptable PCS move.

Suddath helped us relocate an office of 17 people. just the initial thought of moving was enough to make me question the relocation! After my first meeting with Ryan Throop, all my concerns went away. Ryan and his team took care of everything. from providing lockable boxes for all our files, to completely disassembling and reassembling all of our furniture. on moving day, all I had to do was point where I wanted things in the new office. what a great team, and an amazing experience! Our goods arrived in excellent condition (even the items that had glass were fine) and the drivers unloaded the truck and put them exactly where we asked - on more than one occasion they asked if there was anything else they could do for us. Whenever you move, and have to rely on someone else to take good care of you things, stresses can arise - but none of that happened here! I did not personally use this company but my neighbors did and when the truck came to move them I did not mind they blocked my driveway all morning. The only issue I had was that it was garbage day and the movers moved my recycling bin into the street, which I understood why, but when the recycling company left boxes they could not take the moving truck ran it over while leaving and left it in the street with my recycling bin that they moved. I just think that wasn’t very professional of them and not very considerate at all.

United and all their agent personnel provided exemplary support and service for my move from OR to GA. After interviewing 3 companies I selected United because of their container shipment service. Knowing I had to store my items in GA, this ensured limited handling and risk of damage or loss - once into the container and once out. Ryan, the Suddath PDX rep, was super easy to work with and explained everythig in detail. Bert and Bob, the local team that loaded in OR, were outstanding. Extremely conscientious with my items, and Bob is a MASTER container packer, a magician if you will. Dianna, the move coordinator, was great at helping me monitor the shipment and schedule the delivery. And the team in Atlanta did a great job (with pouring rain and wind) with the unloading and placement of all the items. The shipment of my cars was also done via a United arrangement and that went flawlessly from the pick up of the cars at my house to the delivery in GA. Overall everything went better than expected and no damage or loss at all. I don't plan to move again anytime soon, but if/when I do, I'll be calling United.

I wish I had gone with someone else! From start to finish Suddath left me disappointed. We had to add storage last minute. Unloading was fine but the process for repairing broken items (our kitchen table had a wooden leg busted) was ridiculous. Who can leave their kitchen table broken for >30 days while the moving company processes a claim!? I am most frustrated about their deceptive billing practices. We had a “binding estimate”. When we added the storage, it was not made clear that storage was “non-binding”. When I arranged for delivery of our items out of storage I specifically asked for and received via email the final billing amount which I paid without incident. Three months later I received a bill for an unexpected additional $359.25. Long story short, Suddath refused to own up to their mistake of giving the incorrect final amount at the time of delivery. Even when I showed them the earlier emails, they would not budge on the amount due. I would not recommend using Suddath, I expect you will get what I got… mediocre service, lots of red tape, fine print with loop holes, and a company that refuses to own up to their mistakes.

I am so thankful for the team at Saddath. Today I had some issues with a couch delivery being left in my apartment lobby and not brought up to my unit. Seeing us struggling to get it down a tight hallway the Saddath employees who were moving a completely different unit down the hall dropped what they were doing and came down to help. It took a few tries but they were able to get it into my apartment. Without them I don't think it would have made it. I will be using them for all moving services going forward and recommending them to all my friends after this wonderful experience! We hired Suddath to handle our law firm office move to relocate approximately 375 people's workstations over Memorial Day Weekend 2016. It was a very complex and complicated move that went very well without any significant issues. We selected Suddath from 5 qualified move companies through our RFP process and they fulfilled all of our requirements. From start to finish the move process lasted approximately 3 months that included the pre-move of files, the critical move of workstations over Memorial Day Weekend, and the clear out of the old space, in order to meet our obligations to vacate our former office space. We received great advice, guidance, planning from David, Darren, Kirk, and Sean all the way done to the details of the special color coding on a per floors basis. Our firm moved into a new building and are now located on 9 floors. We had pre meetings and special elevator coordination scheduling with both our old building's management and the new building landlord, so that no obstacle would interfere with the critical time lines. This allowed us to efficiently move everything over the shortest timeframe, to minimize disruption to people's work schedules. I would recommend Suddath to others needing similar professional move services. Phil.
