I booked a move for 4pm. My buildings elevator slot was also booked at 4pm. At 3:55 I got a call from the driver saying they were running 2-3 hours late. I fly out tomorrow and have had to make lots of other arrangements because of how unprofessional this company is. If your schedule is tight and you have to rely on this company to be timely I would not recommend. Company even went as far to say it was my fault for not booking a long enough elevator slot?

They were 2.5 hours late, no masks or offer to wear masks or mention of vaccine, asked for payment upfront and then charged more at the end due to “heavy furniture” - very unprofessional overall. Some of my furniture was scratched, and they left damages in my apartment which has upset my landlord and she’s probably going to charge me. Seems as if it was their first day on the job has they were very unprepared and inexperienced. Hopefully they will pay for or repair the damages. Very frustrating experience thus far.

Absolutely DISGUSTING customer service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IF IT WERE THE LAST MOVING COMPANY ON EARTH!!! Many of our items were broken and when we called to discuss this with the “manager” he was extremely dismissive, rude, and passive aggressive. He did not take responsibility for his workers gross disrespect of our property and REFUSED to do anything to remedy the situation. Please do NOT use this company. *Update* they tried to offer us $100 to take down my review LOL. Goes to show what kind of company this is.

This company was miles better than the last one I went with. The last one I went with charged me 1200 to move a one bedroom apartment from one part of hamilton to another part and they were completely unprofessional. This company was professional they were careful with my furniture and provided a fair price...roughly half what I paid for the last one and this move went from hamilton to Niagara Falls. I was nervous about moving again but my faith has been restored.

I was very impressed with the crew GEM movers sent. They were professional and extremely hard workers. They shrink wrapped up all the dressers and chests l, nothing was damaged during transportation. That included 4 TVs and a lot of glasses and dishes. They went above and beyond to leave a great impression with me and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Hamilton area

We had gem movers. Our problem is that they stole a dolly from our condo complex. When we contacted them they were very rude. We were just inquiring with regards to a possible mistake. Taken by accident. They borrowed a small dolly that I had and rather than bringing to the final destination they left it behind. We had furniture scratched and our patio table was damaged. We actually tipped the movers before we realized what the damages were. We actually booked through two men and a truck. We will be taking legal action against them as that was who our original contact was with

The team was excellent and worked hard. Movers came right on time, brought packing supplies , protective covers for stairs and furniture, extra tape. Everything was professionally loaded onto the truck and promptly delivered to the new house. It turned out that a second smaller truck was needed for the remaining boxes and the company had no problem coming on the next day. All boxes and furniture were distributed in the new house according to plan. There were no scratches on furniture or broken items. Overall a very good experience. I will definitely recommend Gem moving to friends and family. Thank you very much, team! .

Communication was good , keep us updated of the status of delivery. Arrived on given date & moved without any scratches. Nothing was broken or damaged. I recommend GE Movers to everyone.

I was recommended to use G.E.M. Moving Company by Keith David. So, I went with the recommendation and found the two movers to be humble and professional. They came on time and finished the job on dot. Do consider using G.E.M. moving service if you are looking for a good and reliable one. Thanks G.E.M. Just a suggestion for the person in charge: please consider using further politeness to conversations and messages. I felt a certain kind of abruptness and non-accommodative response. Also, payment should be made after the entire job is completed not upon reaching the destination and before placing the items in order at the move place. I felt that the trust level with customer missing. Just a suggestion to consider. Overall the move was well done! Thanks

This is by the far the single worst moving experience that I've ever had with any movers. And Ive lived in 6 different countries. They were 2.5 hours late, despite me having confirmed the booking weeks and advance. The guy on the phone said its "first come first serve" but if you know you cant make a booking on time then just tell me that so i can look for someone more reliable. Because they were late, i had to extend my elevator booking for my new units. My 2 friends and i ended up doing most of the moving from the first place and then helped doing the unloading as well because of the time constraints. As a native speaker of the language the movers were speaking, I also understood everything they were saying. While one of the movers was nice, the other one was extremely rude and unprofessional - kept cursing, complaining, and left early without helping set up the bed. Which required some tools which I did not have. Had to end up calling couple friends later on to help set it up with the right tools as it couldn't be done simply by hand. If my friends had not been there to help me, this move simply would not have happened in time. All in all a very unpleasant experience. I'd gladly pay double the price to some other company for being on time, professional and courteous.

Used GEM Movers for moving apartment. The guys did a fantastic job. Since it was a move from one building to another, time constraints were important to be maintained due to elevator booking. They arrived on time. Did a good job with dismantling and reassembling the sofa and beds. Moved the big sized cabinets carefully without dismantling as per my request. Very happy with their service and would totally recommend them for mover services.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This is the most unprofessional, disrespectful company I have ever dealt with. I lost my $200 deposit, don’t let yourself fall for this trap! I called to have movers to come and informed them that I had already disassembled my furniture and just require moving. I was told the prices, agreed and provided a $200 deposit. When the movers arrived, they then asked for $400 before they would start and then said it is a minimum of 4 hours labour even if we spend only an hour or two. I reluctantly agreed to the price of $100/hour in the contract after one of the movers started shouting saying whatever happens I will not get my deposit back. I asked the mover to be respectful and there was no need to shout and next thing, the mover said the price is $150/ hour and that is the only way the job will be done. The mover said that whatever is in the contract has to be the price, he then said the extra cost of moving the treadmill is $50, not $40 stated in their contract. The mover kept changing their words and said that I would need to pay the full amount of the move before they unload any of my furniture. I did not want to risk them changing their words again with my furniture in their possession so I asked them to leave. This company is a scam. Do not use!!!

They will steal your personal property and try to upcharge you without a doubt. They have zero shame, especially the owner Tony who didn’t help the situation, only made it worse by sticking up for his shady staff who stole my property. They will deceive you, overcharge you, and threaten to keep your belongings. They only let us get our stuff from their truck if you agree to pay them more money. DO NOT USE, save your money and time. ********** Since I cannot reply to GEM’s response to my review, here is my reply: Just to be clear, just because my name doesn’t match your records does not mean I am not affected by the poor business you run. You do realize people move as a a family, right? Your movers’ actions affect an entire family, not just the individual who pays the bill. In this case I suffered a loss because your company moved our family’s belongings and damaged and stole our stuff. Now I need to buy new furniture and can never get back my stolen property. Sad. Absolutely sad that people can do this to an innocent family that was merely trying to move their stuff into a new home. I have learned a huge lesson from this and I hope you change the way you do business because what your movers are doing isn’t nice and I doubt you’d be ok if someone did it to you or your family. The 2 guys that came were very fast and carefully , kind while loading and unloading everything had no items damaged no property damage also no scratches on walls or stairs. I helped load and unload but they "they said you don't need to help we don't want you to get hurt " price was good compared to other moving companies was quoted about 300$ cheaper . They showed up with 1 day notice at end of month during most busy moving time even though they showed up 1 hour later I was not charged for that time it is too be expected during this busy time they did not go over the 3 hour time that I was told price was same as I was told. 20 foot truck filled to the top . They did not take any breaks during the move even though almost every box was heavy they had no complaints. If your looking for hard working movers call and request for these 2 guys.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Was 2 and half hours late. Wasn’t even going to tell me had to call them like 2937822 times that day. Kept pro longing it. After being 2 and half hours late already he said they were going to be another hour. I only had the elevators booked for a allotted time. Was still trying to charge me 350 dollars said they were adding on another guy which I did not ask for . I asked for a discount as they were 2 and half hours late. Guy on the phone was leveraging the fact I needed to move that day and was saying stuff like you have no choice. Cancelled on me last minute. Horrible business, horrible customer service. Will be reporting this business to the better business bureau.

GEM movers have been amazing to me & my family. I used them to move long distance from a home to a storage unit and they couldn’t have been more pleasant, professional and speedy. We moved in 2 parts due to the closing and opening of both houses (unfortunately not the same time ) so today’s plan was to move ourselves and we purchased a UHAUL but unfortunately one of my people couldn’t make it so I was in a pickle. I called GEM this morning and they were more than happy to help. They had 2 men here for me in less than 1 hr and move so quickly and efficiently that we got it done in no time. They also are the most pleasant people to talk to and guided our move for us which was so much less stressful. I would highly recommend anyone who is moving to hire this company they ROCK ????❤️????

SCAMMERS!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This is specifically addressed to the Hamilton movers. I’ve decided to give “Tony” two days to do the right thing and return my money. Attached is the two movers who STOLE my box of CBD medicine, as well as they broke my custom made table (they tried to hide it under a blanket…yes seriously as if I wouldn’t notice) and other items damaged. The other picture is of my 65 year old father who came to help me finish the job, and by finish I mean we unloaded the truck and moved EVERYTHING into the storage unit by ourselves! I’m not kidding! I’m not joking when I say the the movers who were SO slow had the nerve to ask to use our car to go get themselves lunch???Like what? Or I forgot we had the option of going out and buying their lunch for them also but with our money. I’m laughing as I write this because yes it’s a joke, but I’m not joking these guys said this seriously. They swear and tried to even fight us at the end when they wanted more money!!! I was told $460 plus tax for the move when they arrived. I made the mistake of paying them $600 in advance (tip for the drivers) all in cash and they did half the move/job and won’t return my money!! I’ve been robbed. DONT GO TO THESE PEOPLE TRUST ME * To your response to my post….very interesting story and way of handling things Tony. People reading this will easily be able to tell the truth from your fake poorly written responses. Please please give me my money back as I work so hard for it and your company took full advantage of me*

Your movers were well mannered and we’re very cautious on moving my furniture out out of my old place and into my new place. I like the fact that they took time to shrink wrap what needed to be shrink-wrapped and when I looked in the back of their truck they had wrapped my furniture in blankets. They stuck to the time I was told, they answered any questions that I had during the move. And I would definitely recommend G.E.M movers to anyone. Thanks guys for a good job
