I used Gvota platform to book movers. it was easy to use and got several options for movers and dates. convenient and efficient. I trusted the rating of the platform and chose that highest rating (not the cheapest), but ended up with terrible experience. The "best rated" company (Transport LC) I booked, tried to take advantage (claiming there was bed bugs and I needed to pay $3500 extras for desinfection on a $1500 move...) and cheated me out of 3 extra hours (charged $360) while they stopped working until I had to bring an expert to confirm there was no bed bugs (cost me $250)... in the end, a move that should have taken 6 to 9 Hrs, took over 12 Hrs, the police had to come to defuse the tension between me and the movers, and instead of $1500 quote, it costs me over $1850 charged by movers + $250 for an extermination expert to audit my healthy place... So much unecessary stress added to an already stressful moment... I wished Gvota would have warned me of this... the 2 stars is mainly due to the very bad mover company booked on the contrary to what the platform was saying (best rating), and not so much about Gvota platform functionalities, that are easy to use and convenient. not helpful if not accurate...

Now the pot. I had chosen one of 10 submissions I received after seeing the sites, assessing the pros and cons and reading the reviews. I receive an email confirming that this company X will be moving me and to contact them directly if I have any questions. Two weeks before the scheduled date, I therefore try to telephone company X ... surprise! They don't have my move in their schedule and tell me to contact Gvota. So I try (a little in a panic!) To contact them, but I always come across an answering machine. Finally, the next day I got a phone from a guy confirming the move. He gives me his phone number and, in response to my legitimate questions, gives me rather obscure explanations, but promises me that the truck and the guys will be there. I realize that the case is not clear, but I tell myself that with two weeks notice, it will be difficult to find other movers for me. In the morning, the three guys arrive with a truck of about 20 feet when we had been scheduled for a 26 feet. We had a lot of stock. As the truck filled up, we wondered if this was going to get in. The guys probably took more time because they had to play tetris and not just a little! Luckily, we did not move the washer and dryer (although it was planned) and we were able to make 3 trips with our CRV. The truck was so full that the guys had to leave their gear (dolly and others) in our condo because there was no more room to put them. We also had to stuff our car because there were some things that would not fit in the truck. We agree ... everything would have gone in without a hitch if the company had honored the contract and sent a big enough truck. To this, we add that the guys did not respect the sanitary rules, that none spoke French, and only one jabbered English, that they had no wardrobe box when I had been promised 5 (the boss finally came to wear some), and that the truck did not belong to any company, but was a rented truck. Gvota advertises itself as a gateway for us to have multiple submissions but it is outright scam. In the end, we are not moved by the chosen company, but by guys, probably paid at minimum wage, in a rented truck, too small ... (probably so as not to need a driver with a truck license). We paid because the move was made and the guys did it well, but I will never again rely on this kind of catwalk and never recommend using Gvota. L’estimé était à peu près correct (environ une heure de plus à payer). Maintenant le pot. J’avais choisi une des 10 soumissions que j’avais reçu après avoir été voir les sites, évalué les pour et les contre et lu les avis. Je reçois un courriel me confirmant que cette compagnie X fera mon déménagement et de les contacter directement si j’ai des questions. Deux semaines avant la date prévue, je tente donc de téléphoner à la compagnie X...surprise! Ils n’ont pas mon déménagement dans leur horaire et me disent de contacter Gvota. Je tente donc (un peu en panique!) de les contacter, mais je tombe toujours sur un répondeur. Finalement, le lendemain je reçois un téléphone d’un type me confirmant le déménagement. Il me donne son numéro de téléphone et, en réponse à mes questions légitimes, me donne des explications plutôt obscures, mais me promet que le camion et les gars seront là. Je me rends compte que l’affaire n’est pas claire, mais je me dis qu’à deux semaines de préavis, ce sera difficile de me trouver d’autres déménageurs. Le matin, les trois gars arrivent avec un camion d’environ 20 pieds alors qu’on nous avait prévu un 26 pieds. Nous avions beaucoup de stock. Tout au long du remplissage du camion, on se demandait si cela allait entrer. Les gars ont pris sûrement plus de temps car ils devaient jouer à tétris et pas juste un peu! Par chance, on ne déménageait pas les laveuse et sécheuses (alors que cela était prévu) et on avait pu faire 3 voyages avec notre CRV. Le camion était tellement plein que les gars ont dû laisser leur matériel (dolly et autres) dans notre condo car il n’y avait plus de place pour les mettre. On a dû également bourrer notre voiture car il restait des choses qui ne rentraient pas dans le camion . On s’entend...tout aurait entré sans problème si la compagnie avait respecté le contrat et envoyé un camion assez grand. A cela, on ajoute que les gars ne respectaient pas les règles sanitaires, qu’aucun ne parlait français, et un seul baragouinait l’anglais, qu’ils n’avaient aucune boîte garde-robe alors qu’on m’en avait promis 5 (le patron est finalement venu en porter), et que le camion n’appartenait à aucune compagnie, mais était un camion loué. Gvota s’annonce comme une passerelle nous permettant d’avoir plusieurs soumissions mais c’est de l’arnaque pure et simple. Au bout du compte, on n’est pas déménagé par la compagnie choisie, mais par des gars, probablement payé au salaire minimum, dans un camion loué, trop petit...(probablement pour ne pas avoir besoin d’un chauffeur avec un permis de camion). On a payé car le déménagement a été fait et les gars ont bien fait cela, mais plus jamais je ne me fierai à ce genre de passerelle et jamais je ne recommanderai d’utiliser Gvota.
