I had never hired movers before and had heard horror stories but Rainforest Moving exceeded my expectations. They were professional, efficient and took really good care of all of our stuff. We had a complicated move and I can’t believe how quickly they got it all done. I would highly recommend this company!

In summary, for a 1-bed room moving on Mar 28, 2021 (2.7 km away / 5-7minutes driving / took 5 hours to complete moving), I paid $1070.92 + tips that include $157.92 with a credit card for renting 20 moving boxes + 1 wardrobe box + packing paper, and $913 in cash for hiring 2 movers. I uploaded the picture that they moved. They moved everything in the picture + 1 queen size bed frame + 1 queen size mattress. On Mar 9, The rainforest owner delivered a 1-bedroom moving box package to my home. I asked him how long will take and how much is going to be. He saw my unit and answered within 3 hours, but the minimum charge is 3 hours($130/h) + $50 for safe packing + $fuel + $travel fee. When I paid for this, I asked him if I pay by cash, will I have any discounts on it. He answered all payments will be the same. Between Mar 9 - 27, I sold my TV stand, dining table/chairs and Sofa. I moved some expensive/venerable stuff by myself - Desktop/ Coffee maker/ PC monitors/ network equipment/ rice cooker and so on. On Mar 28, 2 hours(10 am - 12 pm) at my old place. Two guys(I know their name, but will say A and B) came to my old place around 9:40 am. After parking, actual moving started at 10 am as I booked. Before they started, A took a look at my place and said I packed everything very well and we don't have that many things to move, so it should be done within 3 hours, but the minimum charge is 3 hours. and he offered if I pay by cash, I can avoid taxes payment, so I said I will pay by cash. They moved my stuff very quickly from my unit to the elevator in 5-10 minutes. But, once they went down, they came back after 20-30 minutes. I stayed in my unit, so I couldn't see how/what they did downstairs. (Distance from my unit to elevator and elevator to their truck are almost the same and I booked the elevator.) As a result, they spend 2 hours in my old place. On Mar 28, 3 hours(12 pm - 3 pm) at my new place. I took 5 minutes to get to my new place, but they arrived 15 - 20 minutes after. At my new place, my new sofa arrived, but the sofa delivery man C was stuck on my unit entrance because it is too big. When A arrived, he tried to help C for 30 minutes. During A and C were working on it, I asked B to move my stuff. But B rejected and said he needs A. After 30 minutes, A and C couldn't move my new sofa to the unit and A and B started to move my stuff. During the moving at my new place, I couldn't see B most of the time. He might move all things only downstairs? Then, why he rejected to start moving alone while A helped C? And I asked A why it spends longer than you expected and A answered my bed frame has too many screws... When everything was done, he charged me $913 ($130/h x 5 + $50 +$fuel/travel) and I paid in cash for not to pay taxes and gave them tips + a bottle of wine each. On Mar 28 after moving, I went back to my old place to finish cleaning and I met the building caretaker. I am not closed to her and I even don't know her name. She told me she had never seen movers took that much time for 1-bedroom, and they did very slowly downstairs. Also, she advised me I have to complain about it. On April 5 in the morning, When I returned moving boxes to the owner, I explained everything that I experienced. He said he will investigate what was going on and he probably can do something for me. On April 13, I sent him a message if there are any updates. No response. On April 19, I reached him out and all I heard is that it was ordinary and they have very good feedback from other customers..(?) That's all my experience. Hope this helps you to make your decision. I will give them 2 stars cuz they worked anyways. It was my first time hiring movers, so maybe this $1070.92 is the normal price for moving 1-bedroom 2.7 km away in Canada. Fact Check: 1. The move didn't go as quickly as they estimated(within 3hrs). 2. One of the drawer wheels was broken. Don't agree they did in a professional manner. 3. They did wrap for TV(50inch) and a dressing table. Put mattress to a huge plastic bag. 4. Yes, I did tip cuz I was a pushover. Thanks,

I have moved several times between 3 continents but the first time I had to choose a Vancouver company for a local move. From all candidates Rainforest was the most promising. Then we did the move. Several external factors (elevators not working, access to loading/unloading areas restricted, etc.) made it challenging, but despite all that the guys from Rainforest did a fantastic job. I would recommend James and his guys to anyone no matter how challenging the job might appear. Thanks James

I used the packing as well as the moving services. I found that the Packers and Movers were very professional, careful, and fast. They didn't waste any time, and did things in a very efficient manner. They thought things out first before moving certain pieces so there would not be any damage to the furniture or house. I received an estimate ( which I was very happy with, but was actually more than what I ended up paying, )which was a happy surprise. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with, and the price was right as well. On Moving Day James came to check out how things were going, making sure I was happy and everything was going smoothly. I chose to have things packed in those Rubbermaid type frog bins, which cost a little extra but are much more efficient and easier to open and close as well as stack. Thank you and I would definitely recommend Rainforest Moving!

In the one photo I took (see below), there's Shawn coming down the ramp, the fantastic crew chief for our move to Bowen Island. Shawn also directed our move out of our Vancouver condo, and both parts - move-in as well as move-out were fantastic. Moving is not fun. I am sure you know that. But as much as possible, Rainforest Moving made it as painless as possible. James bent over to accommodate the peculiarities of this move (picking up stuff that we had stored elsewhere; not grousing about a few items we'd not told him about during the estimating process: and taking care re Covid 19 to keep everything sanitary, etc.) . These guys were great. Not a jot of damage, nary a scratch. Good guys, good service, good price. Can't beat that.

Before our move, we researched 3 quotes. Decided on Raintree after reading the reviews. Alan came out gave us a quote and told us how many movers we would need. We agreed to go with Raintree. On the day of the move, the movers arrived on time. We can't say enough about John, Sean and Ashmeil. They were extremely professional and knew their stuff. It was a pleasure having these three men move us. It was a long day for them and not once did they show any attitude. All our furniture arrived safely and nothing was damaged. Not only did they pack and move our belongings, but they also assisted with the unpacking. We were so impressed with the services, that they had provided, that we called them in January 2020 to undertake another move to our newly renovated carriage home. The whole experience was excellent! Professional but friendly and personal at the same time. The booking was easy and the rate was good. The truck and guys showed up on time and moved everything carefully and in two hours. They kept my belongings safely on the truck overnight and showed up on time the next morning and moved me in to my new home within two hours. They were clean, respectful, and made the move enjoyable. Called up James to schedule a move for April 22nd from Richmond to Ladner. Explained there were 3 locations to pick up furniture, how much to pick up and the drop off point. James gave me detailed quotes and estimates. On moving day, 3 movers; Shawn, Nick and Ned arrived 15 mins prior to scheduled appointment. Went to all 3 locations for pick up, dropped off in Ladner. Move went off without a hitch. No damages, no scratches, nothing. Piano was protected and wrapped with their supplies. Pricing was pretty much bang on. Great service, great attitude and professional. Not very impressed with overall experience we had considering we chose Rainforest based on the great reviews on Google. When planning the move on the phone, we understood the 1 hour travel time charge, but we were not made aware of the 3-hour minimum, so the cost was much higher than what we had planned for. While moving there was no floor protection provided, even after I mentioned that we had just redone our floors. I would have at least expected shoe coverings. After the move, we found dents in a lot of the furniture and they even broke our cat tree and didn't say anything! I had to find that one of the levels had completely been removed. Sure they were fast, but considering they finished really early and I still had to pay for 3 hours, I would not recommend.

And on moving day, 3 movers arrived, wrapped the glass that needed to be wrapped, they were very professional, hard workers, and extremely efficient!!! They completed my move before the estimated time and a little over $100 under cost that was quoted. I can’t say enough good things about this company, and without a doubt, I highly recommend them! Allan and the lads are fantastic. I've only ever used budget movers before (moved MANY times), and we went with Rainforest on recommendation of our realtor. They are not cheap, but so worth it in being able to trust very competent people with your life belongings. He came out to visit for an assessment of our old place and was thorough. Allan was very confident answering all our questions. There was no "per stair" or square foot charge - just by the hour. Even our piano was no problem. They even dismantled all our stuff and removed things from walls without problems. They warned us of some scuff risks during the move due to how large some of the furniture was but then came back the following week to repair it all for free. Big hearts and hard workers. Recommend them to anyone.

My parents had used Rainforest in the past when they moved after 37 years and they did a fabulous job. It’s no secret that moving is stressful. From start to finish, James and his team were authentic, kind and absolutely professional. (A rarity in this industry, really) We moved from a 3 storey narrow townhouse in Vancouver on a very busy street and small back alley with no room for a large moving truck. Add in 2 sets of “death stairs” (think steep and narrow) and it was pretty much set out to be the move from _ _ _ _. I’m happy to say it was exactly the opposite. The team we had came ready to work...HARD; and that they did. Not even taking one break until the job was done (though we offered!). Not one item was damaged en route to our new home. We were thrilled with the service we received...there were ZERO hidden costs - what you were quoted is what you paid. Ours was even less! When I booked my moving date with this company , didn’t say about extra charge for the time they leave home or office and go back , plus the lunch time . They sent 3 purple , because they were in my place at 9:30 but I booked from 10:00!!! Then I paid for the time left fir lunch, for an hour , they broke my storage’s leg and some of my stuff I found it was broken in the box, when we called back to the office to talk to the owner for asking why we have to pay for those extra hours he din’t want to solve our concern, even the guy asking me for the tips , I was charged for almost $ 1700 moving from 2bdr apartment to another 2bdr, I talked to other people they paid to other company not even half of that , this was the worst experience I had, I told them about this review and they didn’t care,

Rainforest moving was recommended to me by someone that had used them several times in the past. My experience right from the first conversation to completion of my move was very positive. I was moving just as the city was closing for the COVID “lockdown” and was obviously very concerned but they reassured me that unless they had an order to not do business they would complete my move. They respected the social distancing “rules” and completed my move with a friendly professional manner. They were a very good value for the cost. I passed on my recommendation to a friend who also just completed her move during the pandemic and she too was extremely pleased.

Excellent in every way. I emailed for an estimate about 8 weeks before our move. James called me on a Sunday, came over to do a (COVID safe) estimate the next day which he provided in writing on the spot. It was by far the most reasonable one I received. James kept in contact with me and I was never in a position where I didn't know what was going on or what had to be done next. The day of the move Connor, Sean and the sweetest 3rd guy who's name has escaped me showed up on time. They were professional, polite, efficient, friendly going above and beyond what I expected. We had a ridiculous amount of boxes but they got everything finished much sooner than I'd hoped. Everything was held in storage for about 9 days then brought over by ferry to Vancouver Island. I was told ahead of time what ferry they would be on. The day of I got an early morning call saying they had managed to get an earlier ferry. We were so pleased to see the same 3 guys! The move in went the same as the move out. They set up beds, etc while surrounded by my friends and family who all fell in love with them...they were so patient with their new fan club. The only 'problem' we had was convincing them to eat some lunch we brought in for all of us. It doesn't get any better than this.

The Stomach

Rainforest moved me last week. Despite a ton of snow overnight, the movers arrived 10 minutes *early* at my storage facility. They were professional and pleasant, and worked efficiently. They (speedily) wrapped all the furniture to avoid damaging the furniture or my house. They laid down carpets and moving blankets on my floor & carpets so that their wet boots wouldn't damage my home. They moved some really heavy items up the stairs, without complaint. There were no surprises when it came time for the bill-- travel time and supplies were exactly as Rainforest's owner had told me when I booked them, and the hourly rate was as agreed. Did I mention that they worked efficiently? If they took any breaks, they were so short that I didn't notice it. My wife and I were very happy with the service, and we would recommend them without hesitation.

We had Rainforest move us from Port Coquitlam to Sidney on Vancouver Island. They came and quickly packed the truck to overflowing since we had really underestimated the amount of stuff we had. All turned out fine though and the next morning all our belongings were delivered in good condition to our new house. Great bunch of guys and quality movers.

This is the second time I use Rainforest Moving. First time in 2011 and again this year. James is very professional and easy to deal with. Moving date was arranged quite easily. 3 movers were on time, all very professional and very efficient. They did a great job moving our piano each time. It was carefully wrapped and well protected. My dining room chairs and coffee table are all nicely covered and protected as well. The quote James provided was very accurate and they completed the move within the time quoted. Their price is very reasonable and hasn’t really changed that much over 8 years. Will definitely use their service again.

Rainforest Moving assisted us with not only a move from a townhouse to an apartment, but also assisted with the removal of large old furniture which we no longer needed. For both jobs, the crew arrived on time and were friendly, professional, and efficient. Even though our townhouse contained two flights of stairs, it was not an obstacle for this team getting the job done within the estimated time and cost. Small details like keeping track of shelf pegs/screws /cabinet feet were a bit scattered, as I picked up a few things taped up together but left on the carpet. However, the crew was definitely careful with moving things with out damage to walls/floors or furniture. Everything was packed securely in the truck to ensure no movement and our piece of mind. I would definitely recommend and use Rainforest Moving again.

I am so incredibly thankful to the wonderful people who helped my husband and I move! I booked our move with Rainforest Moving on pretty short notice. And days before the move, we realized we really don't have the time to pack all our stuff, so we called James and he was incredibly nice and found the manpower to come and pack up our entire 3 bedroom + den apartment the day before the move! Phenomal experience with all the guys & James is a very understanding, professional, person and he also happens to be very kind. They packed everything very carefully. We are still unpacking, but so far nothing has been damaged - even the delicate glasses. They also helped place the furniture in all the right places without hesitation, they fixed my husband's desk up so it doesn't wabble, and they set up our king bed. Fortunately for me the movers I originally booked with could not move me. I was panicked because I had to find a mover fast. I have moved many times but this move consisted of moving from the mainland (Delta) to the Island. This would be a two day move. I had received a flyer in the mail from Rainforest movers. I gave them a call and James came within a few hours to give me an estimate. He was fast , efficient and friendly. On the day of the move out Michael and Allen arrived at the scheduled time. They were both friendly and courteous. They had the truck loaded in the estimated time. Day two of the move, once again, Michael and Allen arrived on time. These two fellows worked their butts off. Throughout the whole process they were patient and pleasant. They communicated well with each other which made the move in go smoothly. I cannot recommend this company enough. The guys arrived early which wasn’t a problem. Boxes (the majority of the inside boxes) were labelled and colour coded. Items were moved quickly and because we had a lot of things, two trips were going to have to be made. They stopped for lunch (which we supplied) and then went back to get the rest of the Items at the old house. By the time they got back it was going on 3:30-4:00. I felt they rushed to get finished ( which was understandable) so boxes and things didn’t end up where they should have. Spent a bit of time looking for kitchen and bathroom boxes that ended up in the garage. Nothing was broken which was a plus. When they were done and the bill was presented we were ASKED for a tip. We would have gladly have done so anyway but the fact we were asked didn’t sit well. All in all, the move went well.

I recently had the task of choosing a moving company for our upcoming move. After having received three estimates I decided to go with James and his team at Rainforest Moving. Originally we had planned a move to storage as we were unable get a place due to the crazy real estate market. With three weeks left in our new home, we managed to get an offer accepted and no longer needed storage. This pushed our moving day and changed the dynamics of our move. James was easily able to adapt to the changes in dates and locations. On move day his team of 3 men, led by Alan, arrived on time all in uniform and introduced themselves. They placed floor runners throughout the house and wrapped everything. I cannot speak highly enough about how hard these men worked. They were able to take everything apart, move and re-assemble everything within the 8 hour estimate. I will definitely use Rainforest Moving again, and will be recommending them to friends and colleagues.

Very friendly movers. They took the time to come by my place before the move so they could give an accurate quote and make sure I would have everything I needed. I had two movers who took excellent care of my things moving my 2 bedroom apartment across town. They also rented me very handy plastic totes which was so much easier (and greener) than fiddling with cardboard boxes.

Stress Free move- I had to move condo downtown, building work all around me, no designated parking, and a walk up, even just the thought of it stressed me. The fellas from Rainforest were prompt, and helped make a difficult move stress free. So I would 100% recommend . I see a few mentions of the 3 hour min, not being clear. This was always made clear to me at at the time of the booking, and was also in the contract forwarded to me. Thanks all at Rainforest, touch wood I dont have to move again soon, but if I do, I know who to call.

The crew came earlier than expected so we started earlier. They were friendly and fast in their work. They completed everything in less than 5 hours. We commend them for remaining upbeat all through the 5 hours because that was a lot of hard work given we didn't have an elevator, it was a bit of a walk, plus the 2 flight of stairs to lug the books, bed, and exercise machine. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent! Extend our thanks to the crew????

Moving day can be very stressful. I had a lot of stuff to organize, and a very narrow time window, with only a few hours of elevator time from the strata and cleaners booked to come in right after the move. The team from Rainforest Moving showed up right on time. They were all so nice, and very considerate. They were a very efficient team, and the move went great. No hidden costs, and they took great care with everything they moved. I was very happy with the service from Rainforest. I really hope I don’t have to move again soon, but if I did I’d use them, and I would definitely recommend them.

DO. NOT. HIRE!!!! Absolutely terrible experience. It's a laundry list of what you don't want your movers to do....nothing shrink wrapped so 2 white leather chairs ruined, wore shoes all over the house on a wet day (no mats laid down), took furniture apart and left in parts (half in storage and half not moved at all, not kidding). Could go on and on....just a heads up to steer clear!

I hired Rainforest Moving to help with my post recent move. We had two movers and a big truck which was perfect. They arrived on time and started moving things almost immediately which was great. As Covid protocols are in place, both movers had masks on. However, I understand moving it alot of hard work and so their masks weren't always completely covering their faces which was a little concerning at times, however they were quite respectful of keeping distance. They moved all the things from my condo efficiently which was great! I did find the overall final price to be a bit higher than I thought it would be. I also wasn't provided with a final receipt for the charges. Overall, the guys did a great job and kept all our belongings in tact!

This is a late review for this lovely company that helped us move over the heatwave in the summer! We have moved previously from many different locations and had the most supportive and organized move thanks to the team at Rainforest Moving! Not only were they careful about moving/disassembling our furniture, but they were on time and so calm and efficient. It is very stressful to move and I feel like one needs a supportive team that can show up and support an organized transfer paying attention to your items and valuing them as much as you.
