I highly recommend Mission View Moving and Storage in Cranbrook, B.C. These guys did a fabulous job moving me from Townsite in Kimberley to a rural location 30 minutes away at the end of September 2019.
The owner, Pete, was assisted by one of his young, strong and dedicated staff members named Roy. The two of them showed up on time and worked quickly and diligently. They were extremely polite and professional. They also seemed to genuinely enjoy their work.
I was charged $105 per hour for two men and their large truck, which was a five-ton 24-foot truck. The final cost included their travel time to and from Cranbrook. You can save money on your move by being totally packed and prepared before the movers show up. Pete even thanked me for being so organized.
Some companies charge time-and-a-half for a weekend move (when most of us want to move!). But Mission View Moving’s price did not change for a Saturday move.
I especially liked how well these professionals communicated with each other when moving large pieces of furniture. It was like a well-rehearsed dance. Pete told Roy exactly how to move the pieces up stairs and around corners so nothing was damaged.
Speaking of large pieces, they even had to take a door off to fit a large steamer trunk through the doorway. And they helped put together a shelving unit for stability. These guys go the extra mile and do whatever is necessary to make your move successful and less stressful.
You need to book early with them because they are popular. And if you are moving at the end of a month (the busy time), you especially need to book early.
One final piece of advice: be sure you pick the right size truck to fit all of your stuff. Pete and Roy had to finish my move and then head off to help out at another job because the client did not order a large enough truck.
I rate them five stars!
