I was hired by Tara on February 23 and was supposed to start work as a Dispatcher for B&D Walter Trucking on March 23. I gave 4 weeks notice to my current employer, and am in the process of training my replacement. I was VERY excited to start my new career, and meet with the drivers I would be dispatching. I was even envisioning my work station, planning what headset to use, and was just overall giddy! On March 15, I received an email from Tara stating that the job offer was being taken back....no actual explanation. I now have 4 days of work left training my replacement, and no job to go to. And my emails are not being responded to. As per your job advertisement, you ask for Loyalty, Honesty and Integrity. I gave this to you, and before I could even start, you went against your own company traits and broke your word. I am not impressed at all, you have left me in an awful position, and you won't even give me an explanation, so now I have to make this public.

I had to give 1 star in order to post but they should get no stars. One of the worse trucking employers out there. My husbend worked for this company, after 2 weeks he left because it was not but drama, the drivers say that the owner's wife of the company has slept with all the drivers that will have her. Also the whole company knows when an employee is getting fired before the person that is getting let go does. To top this all off they never paid my husbend for the runs he did. They waited for pay day and when he called to get what they owed him they made up some excuse that he damaged somthing. which he did not. There is a reason they are always looking for drivers and these are just 3 of those reasons. If you are ever offered a job from this company save your self the time and frustration and just walk away.

Have had B&D Walters haul two pieces of machinery for me from Canada into the states. The first driver Jessie was a worker. We had extra tires on the truck to unload and the weather here was cold to say the least. He never complained a bit about unloading while I was in a loader with heat. The second driver came on a Sunday which isn't my type of day but it worked into his schedule. He was a quiet guy who did't say much. Got the job done well. Would hire them again to haul our stuff...

My experience with B&D was nothing less then traumatizing, but I will spare the details of that. I would give this company zero stars if it were an option. If you are looking to work in a place that resembles your high school days or where you get treated like you are nothing more then a puppet (minion as I was called) and spoken down to often made to feel dumb all while never receiving proper training or if you like to be where the turn over rate is beyond high (12 office staff in one year of my employment ...there is only 8 people in the office to begin)...if you have no life and want to be held captive after hours to gossip and make your boss feel seemingly important and cool or you simply want to spend hours in therapy every week trying to survive your job somewhat sane then this is definitely the place for you!!!

Working in dispatch for B and D Walter has bee a experience for me, both professionally and with my personal growth. In such a short time I have gone from a shy and nervous person to being able to comfortably talk with truck drivers from all walks of life and a verity of customers across Canada and in the United States. My little world has opened up so much and I'm learning more every day! All the people at B and D Walter have welcomed me with enthusiasm and open arms. I feel more confident in my abilities due to Tara (the owner) taking time out of her very busy schedule to sit down with me and show me the ropes and be the best that I can be.

Do not work here! The “owner” Tara Walter is very hard to work for… you will question your own sanity, she will have you thinking you’re a horrible employee when you are just trying to do your best and you will have to constantly walk on eggshells around her. You get little to no training and are expected to just know how things work and get screamed at if you don’t know the answer right away… She will also not pay you any sort of overtime if it occurs and will never pay you your final cheque either. There is a reason she has so many labour board claims… Working here is like being back in high school… the gossip and drama is insane! And it’s all because Tara cannot act her age and run the business properly. Honestly, she wouldn’t get so many bad reviews if she just paid people what she owed them…

Not even worth ranting. Place deserves a class action lawsuit, and if you look at the reviews REALLY closely, they all come out in little groups! When I worked there we got forced into writing 5 star reviews! Although, I'M sure that's a direct conflict of interest and definitely got reported to Google in an extensive email where (reportedly) I told them to check the geo location and IP address location that EVERY REVIEW came from. Oh, and if you look too, you can see her real side in the passive aggressive litte snaps at the criticizing comments, look at that! Probably all posted while she gets drunk upstairs and her one driver causes a near vehicular homicide on the property that totalled off 2 vehicles?! Just because of one LITTLE driver..... problem. and yeah, she's gonna come on here and try to say I was 'disrespect and lazy', THATS OKAY! I am way happier working a minimum wage job where my boss doesn't go an abusive screaming fit so frequently that we knew to recoed with our phones every morning, just in case! THere's enough video between multiple employees or her manipulatative mannerism, and absolutely disgust unprofessional treatment,ent of the people that pay HER check.And maybe message a few 1 star review posters. I can guarantee that 4 out of 5 are happy to be gone. The 1 out of 5 are too hard on equipment and their work peers. There ar maybe a handful of good old guys that stuck jt out, and I'm happy she fired me.

I presently work here and I find Tara to have a great open door policy and an ear whenever you need it. She is a very fair employer and truly cares about her employees. It's a very fast pace office and boredom is never an issue. Staff is very likeable and fun to work with.

Majority of the people that left good reviews have either been fired, forced out, or are dating the owner (Robert). All the current employees there have been there for about 2 minutes and bless them for making it work. B&D Walter could keep the labor board in business with all the claims alone. This company frequently calls to beg old employees to come back, and in some occasions will even show up at their door after being asked not to in order to verbally abuse them more. I would rather grab cactus's with my bare hands for 12 hours a day before stepping foot in that door again.

A friend who's an HGV driver just messaged me that a Tara Walter's scouted his resume on indeed . I warned him that B and D Walters is absolutely thee worst company in lethbridge to work for . Ask anyone local , check social media and reviews.Theres even a Facebook group dedicated to ex employees! You wont last more than a few weeks before you're employment is terminated without any explanation , you get paid the wrong money or some other such drama. Check their Facebook page and see that there are only 2 or 3 consistent members of staff over the years shown in the photos and the page is dedicated to faked happy silly office antics as if to say "hey this is such a fun place to work!" ... not to mention the highly unprofessional bully boy tactics of employment tribunal papers posted publicly. The drama is unbelievable and the elderly widower who owns the business has a very young wife who seems to treat the place like her only social outlet with an office full of make up brushes and girly bedroom accessories...seriously very sad to see a grown woman with an office like a teenage girls bedroom. It seems to me like shes just 'playing shop' with the owner and his late wifes once successful business. With 1000s of Truckers out there looking for work opportunities , ask yourself, what kind of haulage company has to scout it's own drivers ?

I went in for a job interview on-time, yet was ignored by the staff for 15 minutes. Then I was ridiculed by the "owner" Tara whom I had just met, then sent away. I am glad that I will not be working for such a disorganized company or such an arrogant and unprofessional employer.

Been with this company for about a year, I have no regrets. Work has been stable which is more than I can ask for during these trying times. Always been treated with more professionalism, kindness and respect then what I have given. It pains me to see all these unwarranted negative reviews from people who have never actually worked here and for those that have always expecting something for nothing or completely disregarding things that Tara did for you. “You get what you give” and if you don’t understand that then that’s your problem. Ben, Tara, Melissa and all office staff are 5 star people. As a former driver, I’ve seen misinformation regarding Ben Walters Trucking. Drivers love to blame others instead of looking into the mirror and blaming themselves. Trucking is one of the toughest, regulated, competive businesses in existence. Big corporations squeeze common carriers all the time. That always trickles down. Ben and Tara always paid me what I had coming, were extremely hospitable people, assigned me a beautiful truck and had genuine concern for my well being, along with all their employees. The insults and smears I have seen are so unfair to the Walters. For you haters, get a life. If you don’t like your position, change it. Don’t blame Ben and Tara. They’re fine people. And no, they did not pay me to write this. Ben and Tara are jobs creators. A gift to society. View them as salt of the earth people and quit smearing them.

I really wish Tara would go back to her maiden name, she brings nothing but embarrassment to the Walter name. Ben is an incredible man, the company itself and the employees for the most part are great. Management (Tara) is an abusive, manipulative human being who is not “self made” nor does she put any of her business degree that she loves to show off to use. I hope only management fails and the trucking company gets turned over to better people. Go get another iPhone to complain about instead of harassing your employees.

Very poor management and training. Was there 2 months then let go with no valid reason. Boss wouldn't give time or day for explanation. Also didn't receive last pay as boss discontinued direct deposit. Company could be a better if staff stayed longer and company kept staff that did their job and got rid of the ones who didn't care about drivers. Dispatch was a joke. Got to be the worst company in Southern Alberta. Run by an old sugar daddys bit of fluff and her evil dwarf side kick. Nothing but drama drama and more drama .... never know who's going to answer the phone and whether or not you'll ever get paid. Wish there was a zero star option. This place was the worst all around company to work for. Highest turnover I've ever seen with the lowest standards imaginable. I was there almost a month before being let go for no reason, after staying late. If you enjoy zero training, staying after hours with no compensation, being treated like an idiot and chaos then this is the place for you!
