Upon my very first meeting to discuss moving into my new home the owners were very attentive concerning my concerns about the move and how I wanted my furniture and possessions handled. They set up a time for when it was convenient for us so that they could come to where I was living and observe what was needed and also how they would handle my move. I must say that the owners and their team of movers were nothing but courteous and of utmost professional in everything I wanted and expected. From the time the arrived until they were totally finished I could not ask for more in all and also did some extra things in which I was very much in appreciation. Movers were late. This should have been a red flag. Of the 23 moves I've had, I've never experienced slower and less organized movers. Long periods of inactivity. Then they nearly doubled the price because it took them so much longer than estimated. Look, either you know your movers are slow and idele and take that into account in your estimate, or you accept you don't know how to do a proper estimate. However, the movers were friendly. EDIT - In response to the owner's response, which is dishonest only when it isn't irrelevant ... 1) Yes, it was clear that your movers are paid by the hour. We knew that beforehand, but their sloth and disorganization made it abundantly clear. Often, they would enter the house, remain inside for a very long time, then finally head to the truck with, say, a single empty drawer. Held with both hands. When unloading the truck, they'd stand around for long periods chatting, clearly in no rush. After 20 minutes or so one of them would enter the apartment with a few items tossed into a shopping cart. Yes, a shopping cart. They didn't seem to have a dolly. Where'd they get the shopping cart? I'm not sure. Maybe Metro. 2) There were nowhere near 55 boxes. Not even close. In fact, on the day of the move we decided to leave a lot behind. Still, we could have had fewer boxes if we'd filled up a bunch of large boxes instead of using mefium-sized boxes. But then the boxes would have been too heavy. After all, these guys had to carry empty drawers with both hands. 3) of course it's common for an estimated price to be a little lower than the actual price (never higher, for some reason) but this guy's estimate was off by about 40 percent. The word for that is "incompetence". Then he refused to leave the apartment until we paid both the balance *and* his extortion fee. I'd report R&A Movers to the Better Business Bureau if I thought it was an actual business rather than a front. 4) Buddy, you can't reserve the only elevator in a 7 story apartment building. You know that. Had the movers been fit and less inclined to sloth, they could have used the stairs for at least some of the items. In any case, whenever we used the elevator we had to pass by the movers, standing around doing nothing. Maybe they were hoping someone would bring them more shopping carts.

We hired R&A movers on December 18th when our scheduled movers failed to show on December 17th. I called Ali at 8 pm on the 17th. He said that the 18th was to be a day off for them, but that he'd make a call and get back to me in ten minutes. Sure enough he called and informed me they would be at our house at 10 am. His two man team arrived on time. They were courteous and they worked very hard over the course of the day to complete our successful move. During transit, two of our pieces were damaged. Ali and Rahb worked diligently to get everything repaired, which they did seamlessly and invisibly. We can highly rate R&A for it's customer service. Don't hesitate to use them for your next move.

First off, let me begin by thanking Rob and Alex for the outstanding job they did. I had a 700 pound aquarium that needed to be moved from my garage into my basement. Every other company I called rejected the deal, so I gave R&A Movers a call and they took on the job. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I seen how much care they put into moving it I was no longer anxious at all. These guys exude professionalism, they're extremely strong (as expected from reliable movers), they took their time moving it; they did not damage it what so ever, and they were innovative in their approach to get around situations that seemed somewhat impossible from my perspective. Moved December 8th, 2021. Let me first say that if you expect a moving company to do all the work without any involvement, then go spend the 3500 to 5000 for that local move. For me, i brokedown most furniture for the team ahead of time, and when R&A arrived, they did the rest. They were fast, efficient, and packed it all with complete professionalism. I paid a fraction of the price. And let me tell you, I had furniture that was very heavy and hard to move. On the delivery, they did the absolute impossible in making my furniture fit through every hallway and staircase. I was absolutely blown away at their capabilities. This company is currently moving my mother into her new apartment. She is in a terrible spot, just sold her house due to being newly separated, has arthritis and a broken wrist. Her life has been turned upside down and today was already going to be a tough one for her. Being that I am a nurse living in a different city, we did not feel it would be safe for me to come help (given my exposure level in the pandemic); so I was relieved to hear she hired movers. She chose R & A movers because they were top rated. She was told the movers would take four hours maximum, and she was quoted $130/hr for this. I just got off the phone with her and they are STILL moving her - they started at 11am and it is now 7pm. She had to run an errand in the middle and was phoned by her doorman saying that the movers have just been standing around while she has been out - even though they know very well how to operate the elevator and have access to the apartment. She also told me the three crew members have been moving at an exceptionally slow speed, only loading the elevator with a few boxes at a time - such that it seems very obviously intentional that they are trying to get a bigger payout. Now instead of $520, she will be expected to pay well over a thousand dollars. It really is truly heartbreaking to hear that your business takes advantage of people in this way, my poor mother. It’s always a single woman in this position being taken advantage of, isn’t it? How do you people sleep at night???
