This is my 1st time hiring a mover. I was always a do it yourselfer. But getting old changed that. I spoke to Mr. Alexander who was kind and professional. Not pushy. The best rate out of all the movers I called. The movers showed up on time, and were the best. Clean cut, quick, kind and careful. To say that I am impressed is an understatement, as picky as I am. My husband and I moved couple days ago. It was a long distance move and hence we were anxious about it. But Richard and Rob were brilliant and super efficient. They reached our destination even before we did and were very fast in loading and unloading our stuff. No damage or breakage either. Joni, who I spoke to all the time was very patient and helpful. I have never met a pair of harder working guys that never complained once even with the insane amount of stairs involved in my move. Polite careful and professional! Not a single item was scratched and my walls only received a scuff that could be wiped off. Highly recommend over some of the cheaper movers.

The company was moving a apartment in my Easthaven apartment complex. The parked their vehicle behind my vehicle preventing use or access of my vehicle. My wife requested that the truck be moved so we could have access to the vehicle. Only with intervention of Easthaven Staff, did they agree to move. When I exited my apartment an hour later, they had moved the truck back into position to block access to my vehicle. Again, i had to appeal to Building management to get them to move. The driver was very surly to both me and my wife. They could have parked across the driveway giving us access to our vehicle. But they were too lazy to use the rear door instead of the side door of the truck.

The guys at Alexander Moving Company got right to work when they arrived, loading up the truck quickly and efficiently, but they were always careful to wrap things when necessary and avoid dinging up the walls as they moved large pieces downstairs. Moving in was done just as well with extra special care to keep things clean in our new house. Thank you for being so professional and friendly throughout the whole process. I never felt like I was bothering them if I had a special request or needed something moved. We were referred to Alexander Moving Company by two separate family members who had hired them in the past, and I would certainly recommend them as well.

I was reassured by Al that they could complete my impossible task even on such short notice (I lucked out../don't procrastinate like I did) Because the job needed to be completed in the middle of my work day he was even able to accommodate my time constraint. Jacob and Grant were on time and more than lived up to the reassurances that I had been given. The crew they sent was professional and we didn't have any issues. However, I was astounded at the cost. Many friends and family have used other companies and paid for less to move more stuff longer distances. I suggest getting multiple quotes and input about companies from actual customers. Do your homework.

I am very disappointed with Alexander Moving. If Joan is one of Alexander’s owners, then I am afraid for their future. If she is an employee, she should be fired. I just received a call from Joan about the non-binding moving estimate that I signed and returned. I made some initialed changes that were incorrect on the agreement. Joan stated firmly, “you can’t do that”. As a business owner, I deal with this practice routinely. Evidently it really upset Joan, who then proceeded to become rude, saying the agreement was from the Public Utilities Commission and then, when I asked her to please speak to me civilly, she then said she would refund my deposit, cancel my move dates and before I could discuss what could be done to correct the paperwork, hung up on me. I feel bullied. It is her attitude that disturbs me the most. And, this leaves me without a mover for my required dates. Based on this experience I would never recommend them to anyone. Just imagine if we went ahead, had Alexander move us and there were issues over the move, only for us to discover that this is how they deal with customer concerns. If glass was damaged during the move and I called to report it, would Joan get angry and hang up on me again? After this call I would consider it a possibility. I wasted considerable time and effort with Alexander. For Joan, I recommend a refresher course in customer relations.

Gamble’s World

I used Alexander this morning for my move. The two gentlemen; (I don't recall their names. I'm sorry); but they were very outgoing, professional and courteous. They were receptive to my needs and accommodated my requests eagerly. They laid down mats to walk on and went straight to work. I was quoted for the minimum 3 hour move and they were done in 3 hours on the dot! They didn't slack off, they didn't rest. They worked the whole time. They handled my belongings with care, and they didn't even knick a wall. (There were some pretty difficult angles that they had to work the furniture through). After they left, I inspected the upstairs rooms. These gentlemen stacked everything neatly and organized. They followed the labels and put everything in the correct rooms. I am very impressed with Alexander. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation and I will definitely be using them again in the future. Great job guys!

Worst company I have EVER dealt with. Used them before with no issues. This time I was scheduled 12-3. I was fully aware they had a move prior, but after and hour later with no phone call, I called. Was ignored. Called again. Woman was the absolute rudest human I have ever spoken to. I told her our move was scheduled for 12 and it was now 1. She said, "Yea, they're doing another move." So I said, okay, well can you tell me when they will arrive? And she responded with, "I don't know, they'll call you. How am I supposed to know if you don't know." Wait, what? Okay. A phone call saying you were running late would've been nice. Called again, no answer. Called again, left a msg to call us back. No call back. Movers called at 230!! And had the audacity to tell us they were gonna go eat lunch then come. Our move was supposed to be done at this point. A simple phone call to update us as to how extremely late you were would've been nice. I was treated as if my time was worth nothing, and they were doing me a FAVOR. A $600 FAVOR! The woman who handles the calls is a disgusting human with no customer service skills. Obviously didn't even call the movers after my first phone call to see where they were and maybe give me an update. I have never been more appalled by the lack of customer care by this company. STAY AWAY AND USE 2 MEN AND A TRUCK!! At least they treat you with respect and respect your time and value as a customer!!!

Alexander Moving just moved me to my new apartment a few weeks ago. This is the fourth time I've used them, for both my own moves, and to move my father from his house to a retirement community. They are the absolute best - on time, hard working, fast, efficient. They will pack up any items you didn't get to, they are very careful with your things, and they are friendly and courteous. I've never experienced a broken item with them in any of the moves, and they take whatever time you need to take furniture apart for the move and then put it together again in exactly the spot you want it. I think their prices are very reasonable, and they have the supplies you need. I wouldn't move with anyone else.

My movers Rick, & Jacob were prompt to site. They did a fine job maneuvering very heavy (solid wood) furniture easily, and everything went surprisingly well. I was a little nervous about having expensive furniture moved, but watching them work quickly, and skillfully, certainly put me at ease. Everything was wrapped in moving blankets & protected. Alexander Movers moved me last week. Al was my contact person at their office in setting up my move. About 2 hours into the move there was an incident with one of the guys and when spoken to about it he became agitated and got an attitude with me, which lasted the entire 5 hour move. I was so upset about this I called the office and spoke to Al about what was happening. Al kept apologizing to me on the phone. We hung up and I just ignored the mover and couldn't wait until they were done and he would leave. I called Al back a few days after the move and told him I thought I would have received a follow-up call from him or someone regarding my bad experience. He told me he would have the owner, Joan Alexander, call me. Well she sure did call me....immediately she began yelling, and I mean yelling, at me about what I said occurred with the mover and pretty much told me I was lying. Every time I would try to speak she would yell over me and just keep going saying it didn't happen and I was just mad because I was moving out of my house into another. I realized I was getting nowhere with her and told her I was hanging up. She may not of even heard me since she was still yelling at me! She behaved like a rabid bull dog, bullying me, yelling, rude, and off-the-wall unprofessional.... she owns this company and boy does she need to learn how to deal with her customers, not to mention needs some classes in anger management. I noticed another review a man posted regarding his dealings with Joan, and it totally matched the Joan I was on the phone with and unfortunately the two of us had an up front and personal glimpse of who she is as a person and business owner. Shame on you Joan. Get a grip. You told me what wonderful reviews your business gets, well obviously those moves went smoothly. God help anyone whose move has a 'bump' in it and you have to deal with Joan. Good Luck!

We had Alexander Moving help relocate me and my girlfriend from Cleveland, Ohio to Sarasota, Florida. To make the move a bit more complicated they had to pick up from two separate homes in Ohio (Concord Township and Cleveland Heights), combine them in one truck, and then transport everything 1200 miles. Initially I was thinking of renting a 10 foot U-haul for more delicate items but once I saw how well and with care Alexander Moving was packing I decided to just have them do everything. The crew are quick, prompt, and courteous. Easily recommend them for any home move.

The foreman, Rick, and his crew did a great job during our move. We had a lot of items including close to 200 boxes, and on top of that we had to be out by a certain time per the negotiations of our home's sale. The guys did a great job and took care of our things. I shopped around and Alexander's price was very fair, especially considering the fact they sent 3 men out (other companies quoted me similar prices for only 2 men). We also ran into some unique issues with the sellers on the home we were moving into, and were forced to wait for them to be out. The movers were patient with that process and worked hard until the job was done. All-in-all in ended up being close to a 12-hour day for them, and they worked hard the entire time. What a horrific experience. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with only 20 boxes to move, along with about 7 large objects, table and dining room chairs - no appliances, no steps and bout 30 steps from my apartment door to the truck - with 5 minutes between locations. STAY AWAY!!! These people are the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. They will break your belongings, and then cuss and laugh at you while they do it. I've never dealt with anyone or business that has ever acted like this before and am AMAZED they are in business. BEWARE!!!
