I had a very expensive move from Kelowna to Nanaimo by another company & they said they couldn't get the hideabed into the room it was supposed to go in. I was referred to Minute Men, they came the next day and within a very short time the hideabed was in the room! With ease & professionalism! moved through my company which sub contracted to Minute Men. Pack day was good, communication initially was good. Load day was the worst we have ever been through. Driver was rude and unprofessional, disrespectful verging on hostile. In speaking to the supervisor he just spent his time making excuses for the drivers actions and behaviors. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in movers and we have moved multiple times. I would have given one star if not for the unpack folks. These guys get 5 stars and I would use Lawrence and his team any time if they worked for a different company. If you have to use this company ask for this team. Super chill and respectful, we had some laughs and a relaxing time. They were amazing and nearly made up for how terrible the driver and supervisor were a few days earlier. Do not recommend Minute Men but do recommend Lawrence and his fellas.

We contracted Duncan Moving for our local move. Apart from a misunderstanding with the the sales reps as to who would move paintings, the move went very well. John and his crew were friendly, worked hard, and never complained, despite several staircases and heavy furniture. To the end of the ten hour day, any request we made was met with a "No Problem". Office staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all as positive an experience as a move can be.

We recently hired Minute Man for a local move and couldn’t be happier with their work. The crew was fast, friendly and so careful with all of our furniture. Not a mark on anything including our belongings or the walls/floor in both houses. I honestly don’t think they could have done anything to make it a more positive experience. Over the years we’ve had both good and bad moving experiences but this time was easily the best. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again (we definitely will) or recommend them to friends ( I already have)!

Had Minute Men as our International movers from Nanaimo to the U.K. They came and packaged everything very well and then the goods were taken to the depot in Nanaimo and held there for weeks... We were told anything from 5 to 12 weeks for the removal, no problem.. goods eventually took 15 weeks.. Also no tracking number until about 12 weeks in..Over estimated cubic footage and which we paid for in advance. We were given a refund.. which was sent to a closed bank account.. we were moving to the UK, no discussion as to where we wanted the refund. On speaking to the accounts department in Nanaimo ‘ not our problem,’ it is now the 9 July and still not received the refund. Would not recommend Minute Men.

We used Minute Man for 2 moves, one for my late mother’s items to our new home and the local move to our new home. Scott was very professional, personable and accommodating dropping off boxes. Unfortunately that’s were the service ended. On the day of moving my late Mother’s items the crew was very late arriving and there was NO ONE to call to get an ETA while we got flack from the seniors complex. Our move was worse. Despite them scrambling to call in a second truck (estimate only showed one)there were still 5 pick up loads of items they didn’t move as they “ran out of room”. So for several hours, we had to make trip after trip to ensure our items were not left behind (luckily it was local and old owner very accommodating. The damage, well there was a number of pieces damaged, every box was crushed, it was a disaster. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Oh if you do, you have 24 hrs to provide a notice of claim. Provide the notice regardless, you can always cancel, but there will be damage and we didn’t find it for several days so that window closed (here is a small sample)

It should be pointed out that you were not present at the time of the estimate nor did we provide moving services for your parents. Unfortunately, we were unable to move a your parents at no charge as requested. The employee in question has been dealt with. Gordon - You never called or returned my calls, even after several attempts to speak with you. Both numbers have an answering machine as well as, call display, not once was there a message or number left; this is a pathetic attempt at 'pretending' to deal with a situation. In regards not being present at the time of the estimate? That has nothing to do with the fact that your employee was out of line and you as a manager did nothing to fix the situation. We didn't use your service because of how horrible your customer service is and what you did prior to my parents even considering using you. Buyers beware of this company and 'so called' manager. Disgusting!

To those who have to move….listen up! In the spring of 2019 we had the great fortune to be introduced to Scott McCaskie from Minute Men Moving and Storage in Nanaimo. Our plan was to sell our home in Nanaimo and move to the BC Interior. But it was not entirely straight forward. There were complications, or perhaps challenges, at our new home. A large truck simply would not work because of the lack of turning room on our street. Scott listened, made notes, assessed what we had to move and went to consult with his Minute Men team. The best solution, at that time, was going to be two 20ft containers. That made sense. Scott provided us with a quote. A couple of months later Minute Men had a truck in the area of our new home and they sent the driver by to check out access. Turns out a 30ft truck would work. One of many instances of follow up which we really appreciated. Finally our Nanaimo home was sold and the new one was ready for us. We needed the crew to load on a specific date and deliver 3 days later. No problem. Not even a twitch. The loading crew showed up on time and put in a long day. Unloading was the same. Showed up on time and worked hard all day. We had labeled nearly everything as to what room it should go in but sometimes we made changes on the fly. Every request we made was met with “No problem.” And they were sincere “No problems”! And finally the total cost of our move was within 3% of the quote we were given 6 months previously. Pretty damn good!! Scott never tried to “sell” us anything. He was straightforward, honest, provided answers to every question we had, and even answered his phone (we know that’s rare these days). A sincere thank you to the whole Minute Men team and especially Scott McCaskie.

My mom hired these guys to keep her stuff in storage and then move out of town at a later date. When we did a little looking around with other companies we noticed we were being heavily over charged and decided to switch to another company. Gord G was rude and disrespectful to my mom and the new company we hired, they were making it so difficult now that we had switched companies. After a big amount of stress because they decided to drag their feet now that we had hired another company they finally agreed to let the new company retrieve our stuff. Gord G made this whole experience one of our worst and we just want others to know what a bad experience we had. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

We moved from Kelowna to Parksville last week in the midst of all the disasters. Suzanne in the office was very helpful in the planning stages and even arranged for 2 of our vehicles to be shipped. Move out of our home was on time, despite the road closure on our driver's trip from Nanaimo. Ryan and his crew (Jeff&?) were hard working, professional and helpful and accomadated all our requests. Ryan arrived on time to move us in with ( Matt& ?) who were just as hardworking. The price turned out to be exactly as quoted and only 1 scrape on the leg of a chest from a fully loaded truck. Impressive! Only regret is that I didn't pay extra to have them pck and unpack! Highly recommend this company to deal with.

From the get-go, working with Teresa and Joyce in the office to request a quote and plan around our schedule to the day of execution with John, Travis, and Josh, the entire process was very streamlined. Day of execution the guys showed up on time as previously discussed with the office, were professional (especially important given the current global circumstances), courteous, and very attentive to our direction on which items were being stored where. When the time came to fit all the items in our storage unit I don't know how we did it, but between us all we managed to get it all in. On top of all this the guys worked their tails off and actually finished faster than quoted (always a bonus!). Thanks again John, Josh, Travis, Joyce, and Teresa for working with us!

If you want to start off with problems with your neighbors this is the company to use. My new neighbors moved in a week ago using this company. We share a driveway as we live in a townhouse complex, and the movers parked half in my driveway. When i noticed i went out to speak to them as my fiance was coming home in a couple hours and he would need tp park in our driveway. The movers said they plan on getting the move done as fast as possible as they want to be on a ferry that night, so at this point we were heading out for the night and told them it should be fine until we come home. After being told that he didn't want to move the truck as he now had an insecure load and didn't want to break their stuff. Come 9pm at night we come home and have to park across the street, we take our dogs for a walk and when we came back asked them to please move their truck, as now they had moved their truck and taken up our whole driveway. They basically told us that it wasn't their problem and they are not moving their truck, all with attitude and not being willing to compromise what so ever. My fiance got into an argument with the mover regarding them now trespassing, and they had half an hour to get off of our property. It should be noted that they took 7 hours to unload the two bedroom two bathroom townhouse. Luckily the new neighbors were decent and we managed to work it out with them. Both my fiance and i worked very early the next morning and all we wanted was to park on our property and go to sleep. The company left at 10pm, which in my opinion they must have been wasting time throughout the day. The next day i sent a complaint to the company and still have yet to get an apology from them. This is a horrible company and i wouldn't use them ever.

I hate to say it but I find it very hard to believe that this company has so many legit 5 star reviews. We used them and it took 4 guys 9 hours to move not even one truck full of stuff (we moved less than 5 km away and had them only move furniture). They took 4 half hour breaks. They were filthy dirty and got grease all over my brand new walls and sticky black stuff on my floor. There was a spider in one of our pieces of furniture and the main guy refused to touch it until my husband got rid of the spider. We wound up moving a bunch of pieces ourselves. They lost part of our bird feeder and when we called to ask about it they didn't follow up at all. All of this for the great low price of $2700! To top it off, they broke my dining room buffet and didn't even apologize! Ugh. Terrible experience and a complete disappointment.

We recently moved from Nanaimo to Victoria. I cannot say enough about Nick and his team during loading and delivery. They were all so cheerful and willing and were so careful to see that the walls were not damaged. Apart from a couple of small broken items the valuable pieces and the furniture arrived safely. The quote was on the lower side so the final payment was quite a bit higher. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to friends.

I'm disgusted with this company and plan on spreading the word via social media and Global. My parents sold their home and had not purchased yet but as they're elderly wanted to get a quote from Minute Men. The employee saw a flyer on my parents table and asked if this was the house they were hoping to get; to which my mom said yes but it was dependant on a few things. The minute men employee made note of the address and went to the house, knocked on the door and told the homeowner that he was going to be moving his client (my parents) to their home and needed to see the layout. First off, he's lying, 2nd the homeowner was confused as they didn't have an offer and 3rd my parents had not hired Minute Men! About a week later my parents realtor went to put the offer in on the house and when he did, found out about the Minute Men employee speaking to the homeowner; because the people and their realtor new that my parents wanted this house it was used as leverage. I called and spoke to Gordon (the manager) the next morning; I had asked that he deal with his employee and reimburse my parents in some way. He assured me he would speak to his employee but he wasn't willing to do anything for my parents. Minute Men Moving cost an elderly couple approx 10 -15K and he's not willing to do anything? I waited for his Gordon, the managers call to find out how things were going to be handled, left a message on his voice mail, spoke to the receptionist and left a message with her and still have not heard back from management. What his employee did was a suable offense and is so distasteful, not to mention dishonourable. On a side note, their quote was double the price of 2 other moving companies; makes you wonder. I'm not sure who I'm more disgusted with, the dishonest employee or the manager who does nothing when his company treats people this way!

STAY AWAY. STOLEN AND LOST GOODS, CHARGED WAY MORE THAN ESTIMATE. Our belongings were not stored in the manner with which we were promised (i.e. indoors, in their building). They moved our stuff to a moving van almost three weeks before our unload date and stored everything in a fenced compound (NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR), without informing us. They parked the van in a manner which obstructed their security cameras. Their compound was BROKEN INTO that night. Our dirt bike was stolen due to this gross negligence. We were told this has never happened in the GM's time at Minute-Men, yet the RCMP officer we spoke to told us that this area was high in crime and that this was not the first time he had heard of a break in at this facility. It sounded as if ours was the only van to be broken into; very suspicious. We were told that our stuff would stay stored in the same manner until our move date, leaving our belongings open to theft for two+ more weeks. They would not unload anything to check for any more theft until our unload date because it would be too inconvenient for them. Now, weeks after unloading, we are still discovering things that have gone missing (things that would not have been stolen, like bed slats, $20 lawn chairs, and miscellaneous sealed boxes), but they only allow one week from the date of delivery to declare any lost or damaged property. We were compensated $50 for the dirt bike (valued at over $11,000 brand new) because of their waiver, which covers items for a meager $.60/lb up to a maximum of $50 per article. As such, we were compensated about $200 for well over $10,000 in items. Even if we were to increase coverage to ten times that amount, we would STILL be at a loss. We were advised to go through our insurance company for 1) something that could have been avoided if they had stored our belongings in a manner in which we agreed upon and 2) for them clearly not keeping track of whose goods belonged to whom (they also delivered us a fan which was NOT OURS). To add insult to injury, we were GROSSLY UNDER QUOTED the amount it would cost us to store our belongings (again, in a manner which we did not agree to) and to subsequently unload. We were quoted nearly $1000 under what we finally paid, even though we asked them to do much less than what we originally planned (we wanted them to unpack everything from the boxes but were too upset to pay them for any more time, so they just unloaded). We were charged for 1 hour of transit time to and from their facility to our home, when Google maps shows it would take 40 minutes to WALK the same distance. We are so very disappointed with Minute Men. Please don't let this happen to you.

They underbid to get the job and fail to give all the info U need and once they have your agreement they have no idea where your stuff is or when U will get it.The driver was very unprofessional towards my sister. My stuff was so scratched and broken and even missing. Dont bother to contact this office they dont help at all just very condescending. I would never reccomend these people EVER. Absolutely everything went so smoothly. I could not be present for the packing but the wonderful Nanaimo crew of Bobby, Liam and Kurt handled everything with such care.
