We used GRMS for our move from Kitchener to Niagara. At first I was skeptical because the day before the moves when I had checked the paperwork, our move was stated for 6 month later! After a frantic call, I was assured they'd be there the following day and they were. It was a different experience watching people load up all your house into a big truck and move it, while I sat on the front porch waiting for it to get done. No complaints from the movers and insisted its what they are paid for. On the other end again, extremely easy. they put everything into the room / where it goes, you sign and pay and thats that. I did have some issues with an item being damaged, I do think their policies need to be adjusted for proper insurance coverage but overall the experience was better than I had expected from a moving company.
Just completed a move with Grand River Moving. The team of men they sent to our house consisted of Luis, Alex and Nick. The three of them were polite, respectful of our possessions, efficient and knowledgeable. Pricing was reasonable and not one single item was damaged. We would recommend Grand River moving and in particular this team of men to anyone.

Hello, my name is Joe. I'm a former employee here(you can see my name in lots of other good reviews). I just want to say these guys are great. Alex, Ray, Darian, Fulla, Dan, Garret, etc. If you get any of these fellas, it'll be a smooth move for you. I worked here 3 years and never had a problem on a job, with the exception of some moody customers, which by the end of the day most where quite happy lol. Ofcourse they are not perfect. Might not always be on time or in a great mood, but they do a great job. I've worked with other companies that dont care HALF as much as these guys do. Extremely professional. When I started working here, it felt like the all stars of moving! Serious, you will not find better help at a more reasonable price. I wrote this because I am a customer now. I hesitate to give Grand River Moving even one star. This move with them has been the worst experience ever. They lost a headboard and a marble buffet top (Since found. I had to drive an hour to pick one of the pieces up). They delivered two items that were not even mine. They broke my beautiful sofa table...legs were broken in half. Buffet top was gauged as were other pieces of furniture. They lost a large peg board...BUT even worse they have ignored my emails and calls. It has been a nightmare to deal with them.

From the moment I contacted Grand River moving, they were nothing but professional, comprehensive, caring and accommodating. Nicole (moving consultant) made a rather overwhelming moving expedition relatively stress-free. Even her communication via email and phone was always professional. She cared about all of details including calling me by name with every interaction. When someone cares about the little things in the set up, she quickly had my confidence that they will take care of my move. She was wonderful to work with and with some tight time lines, made everything work to my schedule. Their fees were extremely reasonable and there was no surprises after the fact :) I knew exactly what to expect. On the moving day, the movers took care of my possessions, they were hard working and friendly as well. Everyone made moving day a very positive and fantastic experience.
Don't use this company - sent an estimator to our house and when he arrived I let him know we were on a tight schedule (something came up at work) so if he could do this quickly that would be appreciated. I think this annoyed him. I am surprised they still have such a rude unprofessional individual on their staff. I have never had anyone tell me at the crucial sales stage that they were "tired of customers complaining about costs when estimates were not done properly for whatever reason, and these (referring to our move) types of moves are not worth it, more of a hassle and a waste of time..... so good luck with it." Did not even get a chance to book them.....just as well! Unfortunately for Grand River and fortunately for me there are many moving companies in the KW area looking for business and I am sure they will provide more courteous and professional service - unbelievable!

I called Grand River Moving to see if they could pick up a hot tub at one location and deliver to another location within a 1-3 hour window. Much to my surprise, the were able to accommodate my request. Every other moving company I called before them practically laughed at me, and understandably; my request was last minute and provided a small window of delivery. Grand River Moving was the only business who considered my request. A good business is one that will do whatever they can to make a customer happy and that is exactly what Grand River Moving did for me. Words can not describe how happy I am with the service they provided. Do not hesitate to call them.
They helped move stuff from a storage unit in Branford to a storage unit in Simcoe. Very polite, fun guys. Thank you so very much. Highly recommend.

Booked them to move two houses - Kitchener & Guelph into a condo. Selected them because the estimate for hours and materials was 25% lower than the other big guys, and they came in on estimate. 2 lamps that got broken during storage were compensated fairly. The 3 teams that moved us were friendly and efficient. All-in-all, well pleased, and would recommend them.

Those guys were amazing and very professional, they really took care of my house, my furniture and stuffs.
Hired this company to move on a Friday afternoon, booked between 2-4pm. They showed up at 4:40pm & later tried to charge me for a 4pm start. They left the majority of my boxes & items in the garage & living room because they were SO slow. Lots of complaining, eye rolling & sighing.. I was really surprised by the lack of professionalism. Lastly, I realized the day after I'd moved that I was missing the leather cushion for my LazyBoy sofa... I called the company, emailed the owner & NEVER heard a response. I wondered if it was left on the truck but no one could even be bothered to return my messages. That was really disappointing.

That’s a 1 in 5 chance you’re going to have a sub-par experience. Take a look at how they actually interact and respond to their clients…placing blame on them, deflecting all accountability, condescending, rude/disrespectful responses, & none of their complaints are actually resolved. Even more negative reviews to read on yellowpages.ca 2.8* over there. They are just written confrontations to their clients with denials and blame. To the staff at Grand River Moving who will attempt to reply to this, let me save you time & share with everyone your predictable client blaming responses: 1.You’re going to tell everyone “I” personally never did business with you therefore “I” am not a client. What you are forgetting is that you are breaking the law by not dealing with me as I am the designated legal POA for my Mother. You refused to communicate or deal with me and went as far as “banning” me from contacting you further to advocate as her legal POA. You were told before even being hired I was the contact and POA making the decisions, you think that because she pays her own bills that you can skirt the system & cut me out so you can continue to take advantage of her. 2.You will insultingly tell us that my over 70 year old Mother was “incredibly unorganized”…yet your company was paid to pack 100% of all her contents as it was just simply too much to bear tackling this daunting task alone after JUST losing her husband 6 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE MOVE! 3.You will play the blame game & tell everyone that the new company we hired (to move her out of your shady business) it’s their fault that her $500 lamp was lost. Funny…go back and read a recent review from another disgruntled client saying you mixed storage containers and had wrong belongings mixed up in the units…I wonder if my Mom’s lamp showed up at that clients move? AND…let’s not forget the reason in the first place the lamp didn’t make it into your storage container the day of the move…YOUR movers didn’t pack it! They left it behind, which then my Mom had to hand deliver it to you! Fantastic customer service…but ya…you blame her as the disorganized one. 4.You will tell everyone that I am blackmailing you by my suggesting to share our experience with our local News to alert other consumers in KW as to how you conduct business. You’d prefer to ban contact from people than resolve a situation. GRM, don't flatter yourself to think that we are still upset over our dealings with you, quite the opposite...I'm happy to be able to help someone else reading this before they have a negative encounter with your business. Long and short here people, nothing is their fault, customer service doesn’t exist here, they relish opportunities to blast customers on this platform, basically we’re all in the wrong for their failures. If you chose Grand River Moving PRAY everything goes well because if it doesn’t you will be on the receiving end of blame, finger pointing and likely out of pocket expense to make your situation right. Just as each of their negative Google reviews indicates, this is how they operate. Good luck to any unfortunate future clients of theirs. I'm sure you'll reply to this so we can all see how you’ll blame us somehow for making the mistake of choosing you as a moving provider.

These great folks just powered through unloading 2 U-Haul U-Boxes into their truck and delivering all contents to my upper-level stacked townhouse (lots of narrow, steep stairs) on a hot, steamy August day. We used Grandriver to move from Cambridge to Aurora. There were three guys and they were fantastic! They worked hard and efficiently, didn't ding or dent anything, and even took the time to rearrange furniture and make the place look great. On top of that, they were extremely polite and professional. You could tell they really cared. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Everything that could go wrong did! They damaged walls at both places & furniture. Also broke items & didn't notify us! Quoted 6.5 hours & took much longer & also did not finish. We had to rent a Trailer the next day to finish what they didn't do.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Grand River Moving. I hired them to unload three items from a UHaul: an elliptical, a dresser and a piano. Just move 3 items from the UHaul (in the driveway) into the house, nothing else. I wanted the piano moved to the second floor of the house which I was told would happen, just might cause some damage to the walls. No big deal. Jesse, who prepare the estimate, never came to look at the stairs, and never asked for dimensions of the piano. On the day of the move I was told the crew would arrive between 3-5pm. At 4:47pm I received a call from Jesse asking how many people I would need, and for me to send him pictures of the stairs and the piano to assess how much work was required. These were all details that I had provided to him a month earlier and now he was scrambling to plan this work. He had no idea it was only 3 items, he had no idea that there was a piano, and he had no idea it was going to the second floor. Again, all details that I provided to him multiple times through email and phone conversations. All this was also confirmed a few days before when a woman from the office called to confirm my details. During our 4:47pm conversation, Jesse concluded that 3 guys were needed (which had already been discussed and agreed upon a month earlier) and that they would come in 30 minutes- so around 5:30pm. At 6pm, I receive a phone call from the crew saying they were outside- they were not. They were at the wrong address. When the woman from the office called a few days before to confirm the details, she had the address wrong, so I gave her the correct address. The moving crew still went to the first address. What was the point of confirming with me? The elliptical and dresser were moved no problem. The piano was a nightmare. Trying to move the piano up the flight of stairs would have been dangerous and irresponsible, so it ended up in the living room which is now crowded and just wasn’t the plan for our new home. To move it up the stairs, they likely needed 4-5 experienced guys to do it safely- not 3. The crew that came weren’t experienced enough with pianos and didn’t feel comfortable even attempting it – after watching them struggle getting it up and over the little 2” door frame of the front door, I agreed. Getting it up a flight of stairs would have been impossible and dangerous for them. Regardless of the stress, the guys that came were great (Adrian, OB, and Eddie)- they worked hard and were courteous. I felt bad that Jesse set them up for failure. A month earlier, during a phone conversation with Jesse, he told me something like, “For sure the piano will be moved upstairs. No matter what they have to do, they’ll get it up there. There might be some minor damage to the walls, but we’re the best in the business!”. Why would he be so confident that they could do it when clearly it wasn't a task these guys were capable of? I wish he would have been honest with me that the piano likely wouldn’t be moved upstairs. I would have decided to not bring the piano to my house, since we’re now stuck with it where it is. For the hassle, they removed the $75 piano fee. Still, in the end it was $800 for 45 minutes of work to unload 3 items, and they didn’t complete the job that was guaranteed (the piano was not upstairs). Do not hire this company. There’s better companies in the Region that won’t over-promise and then over-charge.
Highly recommend ! Obi & Lum took care of my move. They were very respectful, efficient and great to work with. I wouldn’t move without using Obi & Lum’s help. Moving is very stressful and can be emotional, and they are very understanding and compassionate. 5 stars.
The owner's default response to a negative review is to falsely claim that the reviewer didn't actually use their service. Read through the many negative reviews and you will see this pattern. I strongly advise against using their service. Unless unprofessional attitudes, exceptionally poor communication, and false promises are something you look for in a moving company.

It STARTED AS A 1 ???? AND ENDED UP AS A 3 ???? They were very professional over the phone and quite accommodating. I thought they were going to be a good company. Time was booked for 9 to 9:30. I called at 9:40 ish to get the ETA. The man that answered the phone said 2 guys called in sick so had to bring 2 in from their days off. He saud they would be here 20.. I assumed that meant 20 min... Still waiting and it is now 12:20.. Not impressed. Not even another phone call from them. I have called multiple times starting at 9:50... Not one call back. I will update when and if they arrive. Was contacted by someone.. Dispatcher so they said, and was informed the truck would be here around 2p.m. The driver also called around 1:30 to say the would be here approx. 2. Will update again with further information... If they show, their competency on the actual move etc.... The truck arrived at 2p.m. as promised the by the dispatcher and driver. The 2 moving guys were amazing and so much so we ended up tipping them. The Dispatcher also dropped in to do a PR stop due to the huge fowl up in the scheduling. Tips: talk to dispatch the day before your move. Seems to me they are the only ones that knows what's what. Will I use them again most likely as the moving itself went off without a hitch. Just don't assume the office, other then the dispatcher, knows the stuff needed to get the job done right. Thanks to the drivers and dispatch for turning things around and making a really bad situation turn good. Note to Manager... They need a huge pat on the back and acknowledgment of an amazing job. As well if you do not know then do not just shoot whatever from the lips to appease a customer... And definitely don't say you are talking to someone to get the information when you are not. If you don't know or you forget to pass information or.... Own it. If you don't all it does is make your company look disreputable and unreliable.

Worse company. I would give 0 stars if possible. The movers left my 70+ year old parents high and dry. Company made decision to not complete move 1/2way through the move and just emptied truck on the driveway and left. Broke legs of piece of furniture why they were unloading trucks. Manger did not even have descency to call and explain.

I had Grand River move us this past summer (2020). We ended up doing it on the hottest day of the year. The guys were awesome. They were very professional, safe, and didn't damage a thing. Even tho it was a miserable day doing heavy work Ray and Alex went at it non stop. I would use them again in a heart beat. I had a great experience with Grand River Moving! I've never had high hopes for moving companies as I've had may poor experiences in the past, but these guys exceeded all expectations. Just heard about someone who had been totally "stood-up" by this company (yet they had no problem accepting the deposit they requested).They were totally unresponsive when trying to contact them... Go with a company a little more reputable! Edit: Although I just "heard" this, perhaps Grand River Moving should consider the best advertising/reviews are through peoples experiences and word of mouth... I posted this review, because what I "heard" was totally "unprofessional" and I deemed important to pass along. The customer cannot always be wrong, and if I do "hear" of someone being treated in a manner like this I will pass it along... People are smart enough to fact check themselves if they don't believe it.

I wish my husband and I had the opportunity to see the great work that the movers do (based on these reviews) but after waiting 9 hours for the truck to arrive we called to cancel. Unfortunately for us it seems we scheduled our move on the worst possible day as their 4 trucks were stuck somewhere else finishing other jobs - which we would have understood IF there was better communication and service. (Even though we called the night before to confirm and emailed a couple days before that they were all good.) The truck was supposed to arrive at 8:30am. We had to call them at 10am - they said it'll be there in less than hour. 11am, 12pm, 1pm - Nothing After calling the sales manager and our driver 5 times each, we started getting really frustrated, stressed and hungry. 2pm my husband had to drive to their office to see what was going on. (Luckily it was him and not me as I am 8.5 months pregnant and was absolutely livid by their lack of communication and respect for our time) He talked to the sales manager who still had no ETA whatsoever but kept reassuring us we would be moved today. He left with the same uneasy feeling. 3:30pm finally get a text after we have to reach out AGAIN saying ETA is between 4:30PM -5PM. 4:30pm...5pm..5:30pm... NOTHING. No call, no text, nothing. 5:45pm: It's dark, my husband and I are mentally exhausted trying to figure out other sleeping, food and moving options, and we call to cancel. The sales manager says they're finally on their way, but after this incredible poor service we couldn't allow them to take our precious belongings anywhere - we cancelled. Obviously, that conversation didn't end well. I can't say how they are as a moving company but their communication and lack of problem solving made this an experience I wish I could forget. It was supposed to be one of our happiest days moving into our first new home but came up with a lot of stress, frustration, rescheduling of our planned install services, rescheduling of our baby sitter and left stuck with all our furniture packed but no where to go. Ps, We also found out they give customers discounts for 5 star reviews.... so not sure how much I trust these reviews anymore. Pps, We have asked for our deposit back and have been told we will only receive it IF we take down this negative review. We feel very strongly that others should be aware of the completely unprofessional service this company provides and refuse to let them bribe us to not share our honest experience with this company.
When they quoted us he was super nice. Promised a rate and not to go over the quoted time by an hour and the cost wouldn't be any higher if they did. At the end they took longer. We had to move stuff on our own because the truck they brought was too small and they tried to charge us more. The owner was so rude to us actually arguing . In the end we paid what we were quoted because we had to argue for an hour. Save your quote always. Sheisty and horrible. I would like to say the two men that came were very nice. And warned about Lee. Says it happens all the time. And to add if you read the responses he gives here you know what type of person you are dealing with. Not customer service oriented.
We moved Tuesday January 26, 2021. The moving company was excellent. They went above and beyond . Very kind, courteous, easy to get along with, i like the idea how they put mats down on the floor to protect the floor when moving. The drivers name : ray Other guys were david, pen (i think it was)
The three guys, Ray, Joe and Devante were absolutely awesome. Could not have asked for a better crew. They were prompt and worked so very hard. As well as being so friendly and polite. We would highly recommend this crew to anyone contemplating a move. They were terrific guys. NO COMPLAINTS HERE. Have never seen such hard workers. They just never stopped until they were done. All furniture and valuables were wrapped in quilts and nothing at all was damaged. They were so good at asking where everything should be placed when we got to our new house. VERY PLEASED. Moved October 2018. Because of my work, this was my 6th move in 5 years, and I've tried several moving companies over the years, including moving myself once (never again...) The team at GRM was by far the BEST experience I've had. The three guys that came to move my family were very fast, friendly, and careful with all our things. Everything was wrapped, packed carefully and tied down in a nice clean truck. I highly recommend this company - totally exceeded my expectations!
Great moving company! The men were friendly, helpful and efficient. No damage, they were very careful as well. Tetris master, I didn’t think all of our stuff would fit into storage but they make it work. So thankful for their help!

Absolutely awful experience. Our moved was booked over a month in advance. The night before the move I got a voicemail saying they overbooked our move but they are bringing in another company to move us. I was told nothing would change just a new company. The next morning I was ready waiting for the movers who were supposed to show up between 8 and 9am. Nobody showed up. I called Grand River several times between 9:10 and 10:15 and nobody picked up. I finally spoke to someone at 10:15 who said she was looking into it. Half an hour later I got a call back with some excuse about a driver needing to be replaced, etc. Still I got no call that they were going to be late. I have a 6 week old baby with me and I waited 4 hours for someone to finally show up. A company called Elite movers finally came at 12:00. They were very nice and did a good job. The man from Elite told me they got the call to come at 10:30am that morning. So Grand River did not have someone booked to move us and lied about it. DO NOT BOOK THEM FOR YOUR MOVE. My friends had them booked for their move the very next day and they were over 2 hours late. Stay clear. Horrible company.

Very happy with Grand River Moving! They made sure all items were wrapped nicely before being loaded on the truck and took great care of my items making it an easy move. It was a pleasure working with Lum, Alex, and Devante.
Hands down, the WORST service experience of my life. Didn't show up on time, then came without a truck, couldn't reach anyone in the office, insisted on charging me the first day and promised to come back with a truck the second day. Showed up late again, damaged trees with the truck, and tried to double charge me the instant they got out of the vehicle. When I said I was calling the office the four workers jumped in the truck and took off! Total scam. DO NOT USE THEM.
Two stars for the men who moved us. They were personable, experienced and hard working. ZERO stars for management???? Moving date booked well in advance, down payment made, start time agreed upon. We waited 2 hours outside our storage unit. We finally drove to their office to find 7 labourers sitting around the moving trucks waiting for the boss to show up to send them to their jobs. Someone in the group finally stepped up and sent two brothers to complete our move.
So we booked our move in January with Grand River, we were very pleased to be met with the respect and hard work from the staff. We had Ray and Clayton on our move and they were a couple of hard working, delightful individuals. They were fast, efficient, and right on par with the quote we received from Nicole. They padded and wrapped everything we needed, disassembled and reassembled all of our furniture, and overall were very kind throughout. HIGHLY recommended!!
I called Jesse twice in order to make sure movers show up on time as I have strict condo rules and time slot for moving in. Movers showed up 4 hours late. As a result The Board of Directors is charging me a fee. Not accounting for a stress I had that the elevator would not be available. Despite the fact that Grand River Moving charged me $1000 above the quote they refused to provide with any discount. Avoid this company.
What a horrible company and service! Booked an "at-home estimate" appointment - nobody showed up. I left two messages - nobody called back. When I finally got a hold of "Andrea" - pure rudeness!!! She does not listen, cuts you off, and then hangs up on you!!! Way to go Andrea!!! I'm so happy right now we never got to hire you to help us move! Better Business Bureau will hear about your great service! STAY AWAY FROM GRAND RIVER MOVING!!!

I specifically asked Nicole, who is the office administrator for the Grand River Moving Service, to ensure that the movers at ‘ Good Boys Moving’ have either booties for their shoes or if they could put down pad runners throughout the upstairs of the condo I was moving into. I had just had the carpets professionally cleaned. Nicole from Grand River Movers, had assured me they had runners and basically suggested that, that was a common practice for the movers to follow. I didn’t think anything of it. When the two men from Good Boys Moving showed up … the one was smoking a cigarette as he was eyeballing the stuff to move, which left me with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. Then they had complained to me about not having the unit number to the Condo written down, which had nothing to do with me, but rather the clerical staff who took the information to the move. They stated they were hoping to ‘get my move over with quickly’ as they wanted a ‘ short day’ and complained while loading the truck as to how ‘hard the move was and how hot it was’ . The one gentleman walked by me in my home - I was moving from and took it upon himself to use my washroom without permission. Also, the same guy took his sweaty shirt and put it over my fan, which I was moving but they took it upon themselves to turn it on and use as they moved my items. Gross and yes.. that means he was shirtless! Yuck. They put their lunch in my fridge without my permission. Had no masks and no sanitizer on them. They did not practice social distancing. When they finally ended up getting to my condo I was moving into they flat out said … ‘ we have two runners and that’s it!’ ‘We are not putting them down as we move and or covering our shoes!’ The way they had said this to me was flat out rude, disrespectful and unprofessional and when I took - issue with this, they slammed the door shut to the moving truck and turned the keys to the ignition and basically said ‘ pay now or we leave with your stuff! ‘ I honestly never experienced anything like this before in my life!!! It was almost comical if not so ruthless, callous and traumatizing. I took video of this occurring - because I seriously couldn’t believe the unprofessionalism and demeanour of these two men. I had every intention of paying them, I just wanted the job done as discussed with Nicole at Grand River Movers. Looking back I kind of saw the red flags- but chose to ignore them - so it’s more my fault. When I had called a month in advance to book my move, the gentleman at Grand River Movers, named Jesse, sounded under the influence. It was the Friday of the beginning of the August long Weekend and had given my Credit Card information for the deposit, he assured me I would receive an email with the information. I never did receive it. I had to call him back and ask (which was awkward to begin with) and he had stated it ‘ was the beginning of the long weekend ‘ and to basically wait for it to come via email on Tuesday and hung up on me. I called back again and Nicole said that, that was wrong information and ‘of course I can send the confirmation email.’ Do yourself a favour- spend the extra and get a quality, respectable, kind, professional company that complies with Covid:19 Protocols to help you with your move! Grand River Moving Service and Good Boys Moving isn’t it!!!!!
The most friendly and efficient staff would definitely use them again
First off, I will say that the 3 guys who showed up were friendly and worked hard, but..... it's been my experience that all movers seem to always manage to 'overlook' something. In this case - an upright piano was somehow not included (that will be $75.00 please) even though it had been pointed out to the estimator as I had mentioned it had been gutted and was only a shell. I had specifically asked if they provided floor protection (was told they did) but coming moving day - nothing to protect any of the floor coverings. I'm just moving into a townhouse temporarily, so no big deal at my, feel sorry for the people that just bought my old house though - hardwood and carpets will need some touching up. Worst of all though - you would think that if an antique buffet must be stood on end to get it through a doorway - some one would be smart enough to lay a blanket on the floor beneath it to prevent scratching it - apparently, that it not part of the training. There were many dents in the walls at both ends of the move - I expected some - but had some major gouges in the walls of both houses. I'll be moving again next year when our new house is finished - I doubt very much I'll be calling Grand River though
The movers were great. They were able to change the time last minute, which was convenient. The day of the move went smoothly and the movers were professional and friendly. Alex was very communicative with what was going on throughout the day and we were very happy with all the gentlemen who moved our belongings as nothing was damaged.
We love Grand River Moving! We've used them twice now & each time they were super quick, friendly & professional. They initially moved us from a large studio to a large one bedroom & most recently into another one bedroom. Moving is very stressful & I never have to worry with them!
We had to move at short notice and chose literally the first movers we came across. Fortunately, it was Grand River Moving! Everything about this company is top notch, from the customer service to their speed to their pricing. We are really grateful that they managed to slot us into their schedule at the last minute and still pull off such a great move.

The guys had a great personality and sense of humour but we were the second move of the day and fatigue certainly set in for them. The guys got slower and slower as the day progressed, we did majority of the move to speed it along. One mover was quite happy to stand around while we were slugging. If you use this company, make sure you are the first stop!

We used Grand River moving for our recent move the end of September 2020. We can’t say enough good things about our experience. Dan, Alex, and OB were our crew and our day couldn’t have gone any smoother. We downsized from a 4 bedroom home to a small bedroom and they were able to pack our home into their truck and transport it to our new home. They took great care of our possessions and were great at putting our boxes in the required areas. Made unpacking so much easier for us. Also it was a very hot day for them but they were professional throughout our whole experience. Very nice men! Would highly recommend this company and crew to anyone!

My experience showed Grand River moving to be dishonest and they take advantage of elders. I required the furniture from a second floor office moved to the basement and the furniture from the basement room moved to the second floor. At 85 years of age this work is beyond me. Nicole at Grand River moving quoted $450.00. I considered this extremely high but there seemed to be little alternative. This was on November 12 and the move was to be 9 am November 14. Nicole asked for a deposit of $100.00 and I gave my Visa information. They arrived 3 hours late on November 14, went right to work and were finished in an hour. They then gave us an invoice for $450.00 and asked to be paid in cash. As the deposit charge of $100.00 had never been sent to Visa we paid the $450.00 and received a “paid in full“ receipt. At 8:09 pm that evening Grand River moving forwarded the deposit charge to Visa thereby charging us $550.00, a $100.00 more than quoted and billed. The next morning, November 15, I called Nicole, explained what happened and she assured me they would issue a credit to my Visa. 15 business days and several phone calls later and still no credit. As well they cannot be reached. No answer or “mail box full”.
Edit: Although this company was extremely disrespectful and told us that they did not over charge us when they did. After making this initially very negative review, they refunded the money owed to us and the office sent us a text message apologizing for her behavior. I hope that this experience will ensure future customers will have better experiences.

Beware, do not use this moving company! If you value your furniture, ornaments, walls, ceilings, and doors, stay away! Customer service is very poor...The truck showed up 2+ hours late, the movers had a bad attitude, and were overworked, rushed and ill-equipped. They had no moving materials like runners for the hardwood floor or tools to disassemble furniture. They scuffed and carved holes on the ceilings and walls. They also damaged and dropped parts of expensive furniture, scratching wood, leather and cloth. If you complain, they will ignore you and not offer any compensation for their horrible service. I have contacted them and there has been no response for almost a week. They only know how to charge money and the movers ask for undeserved tips. Proceed with this company at your own risk!
Easy to work with and these guys hustle! Grand River was recommended by a friend and after this move we recommend them too. The move was on time and the movers were fast and efficient. Furniture was well wrapped, we had no damage. The guys were easy to talk to and had positive attitudes even when we couldn’t keep up directing traffic and held them up for a minute (if you’ve moved you know what I mean) Our crew was Lum, Alex and David. Alex can carry an impressive number of boxes at once and they make a great team. Thanks guys, moving is stressful, having your part go smoothly was a huge plus.
After a bit of a mix up with arriving to our home, the movers were very professional and asked about what furniture could be taken apart (mirrors off of dressers), they were concerned about covering furniture to so it wouldn't get damaged and worked efficiently to get the job completed in good time. I would highly recommend them. Danny and OB were fantastic.

My husband and I found ourselves in a tough situation where we had hired movers and they turned out to be a scam. We needed to re-hire movers on very short notice (May 2021) and Nicole and the team were amazing and were able to accommodate us. What was a nightmare situation turned into an enjoyable and stress free experience. Lum and David helped us move our stuff out and they did an exceptional job. They were kind and courteous and worked very quickly. Alex & Darjan were our unloading crew and they were amazing as well! We were blown away how quickly everyone worked and were so pleased with how personable everyone was. They were all very professional and handled our belongings with care. Overall, we enjoyed our time with each and every one of the team. With this being our first time hiring movers we were very impressed. We were so happy that Nicole joined the unloading crew so that we could place a face to the name. Hiring Grand River Moving was the best decision we made and was worth every penny! We will gladly call them up when we move again.

Very fortunate that I read up on reviews on Facebook prior to booking with them and encourage you to do the same due diligence. Took deposits then never showed up for the move ... This was a common theme. Bugs on truck ... Breaks longer than work time, rude, and the lists continue. Not sure how they get a 4.1 based on all the complaints.

Everything went great couldn't be happier
Do not use this business. They lost my $500 lamp from their storage unit. They had left it behind and when I took it to their site I was not able to place it in my unit because of their storage insurance restrictions. I never saw it again. They now say they won't do anything about it.
We settled on Grand River Moving after speaking to five or six other companies. The main reason was their ability to be completely clear about their pricing. The quotes they gave us matched the final price. The moving service was simply perfect. The guys came in, did the packing quietly and quickly and loaded it all up right on schedule. Unloading and unpacking went just as smoothly, no chance for a complaint anywhere – thank you guys!

The worst experience ever. They had a temp who said he didn't want lift too much because he didn't want to be sore for his "real job" funny because I was paying him to work. Another guy basically refused to lift anything over 30 lbs. I myself moved more things in and out of the moving truck than both of those guys did. My wife also moved more than two of them (with a two year old and six month old in tow). They had an inexperienced lead hand in addition, an experienced guy was sent over to "check on them." He ended up staying the entire day (thankfully as he packed the entire truck with the inexperienced lead guy). Those two guys worked hard so I have to give them credit but I certainly didn't hire movers for me to do more work than half of them. The only compensation we received was not being charged for 4 guys which I laughed at, they should have been paying me and my wife an hourly wage. Was given the run around big time after trying to contact a manager of some sort. Emailed back and forth with who I thought was a manager which at one point he said "maybe I should send you to the right person". If I ever move again they would have to pay me in addition to moving me for free to even consider them. Look elsewhere for a professional company.

Grand River Moving transported our household belongings from Kitchener to Lucknow on Feb. 27, 2017. The three guys that moved our furniture (most of which were antiques) were fabulous. There was not one bit of damage to anything and they had to get use some creative techniques to get some of the pieces out of the old house (leather sofa and tread climber in the basement) and into our new house (Cleopatra sofa up the narrow steep staircase). We were absolutely delighted with the service, which while reasonably priced, was worth every penny. Thanks for making this move go so smoothly guys - you rock!

This business has unacceptably high reviews. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DOUBLE YOUR MOVING BUDGET TO COVER REPAIRS! If the simple purpose of a moving company is to take your money and move your stuff from point A to B without causing damage to walls and furniture then this business has no purpose. This company has cost me at least $1000 in damage to townhouses and furniture. They do not hold themselves accountable. The work crews rush and try to carry too many items at once which is the reason why they trash walls. The truck was not equipped with floor runners, tools for furniture assembly/disassembly, or functional clothes carriers as advertised. FALSE ADVERTISING!! The customer service department does not respond for many weeks then expects customers who have paid their invoices in full (tipped workers for at least working hard) to be pleasant for concerns being ignored. A simple "sorry we made mistakes and didn't live up to our high standards this time" would have been amazing. Customer service vigorously defends that their trucks are fully equipped without being present in person for the moving jobs. I reiterate...no stair runners, no tools. They had clothes carriers that did not have bars for hanging your clothes.

I went to their office on Saturday morning and no one was there. The sign in the window said they are open from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm but no one was there. So I called and left a message. No one has called back. I think they are a joke. They are not getting my business. I phoned another place later that afternoon and booked my job.
I would NOT recommend this moving company on soooo many levels as management is awful to deal with and refuses to take any ownership of their faults and absolves themselves from taking any responsibility!! They just promise and tell you what you want to hear!! No credibility!!

On the day of the move, that tenant finally called Grand River Moving Services Kitchener approximately 20 minutes after they were supposed to be here, to be told that "the people before you had more stuff, so we'll be there at 3". She told them that she only had the elevator at her new condo booked until 430, and could absolutely not move in after that time. They assured her that everything would be fine, and that they would "send an extra person" to speed up the process. After 3 PM, she called again and was told that they would be there shortly. At 340, she called again, and again. At this point, they stopped answering her phone calls. Finally, somebody phoned her back and said they would be there at 4:20, to which she replied that she was no longer able to move. In spite of the fact that I had other tenants scheduled to move in first thing Saturday morning, I asked them to hold off (they were gracious enough to do so) so that my tenant could move out at about 12 pm on Saturday, a time agreed to by Grand River Moving Services. Two movers did show up around the agreed upon time. When I arrived at the house to check on the progress, I was annoyed to see the movers in the house with no masks on. When I asked the tenant to request them to put their masks on, they replied that , "It's not mandatory for small jobs like this". Excuse me? After the move, I understand that the company offered a 100 dollar reimbursement for the trouble, but when my tenant had to email them back 4 times over the week, they told her she was impatient and that they would etransfer immediately because of this impatience. She sent a harshly worded response, and was told to never contact them again, that she was not getting the reimbursement, and in the future, to say Thank You when somebody was doing her a favour. All things considered, a harshly worded response from this poor woman to this extremely unprofessional and unsafe (no mask in a small house) sorry excuse for a company is not what should be under examination here. Would never recommend this to any tenant, or anyone, period. UPDATE: Unfortunately for you, Grand River Moving, I was privy to all emails and conversations, including that your movers did not wear masks because it was not required. I have seen the emails that you claim were insulting and contained curse words, and I'm amazed that you would a) lie about such a thing and b) offer to share a customer's email. The "insult" that you're claiming is in your response to referring to my tenant was "impatient" after receiving no followup to your initial email offer. Your further email today, which I have also seen, is derogatory and insulting. The fact that you are willing to violate a customer's privacy to share their email is disgusting, and you schoolyard "We're not going to stand for this" is childish. Your negative reviews that all have a common theme speak for themselves. Your assertion that I am lying because I am not your customer is unfounded. I have the emails and the phone calls and the texts, thanks to my tenant. If you wish to make a big deal about me engaging in libel, please feel free to have your lawyer reach out. Unlike my tenant, I certainly consider it to be worth my time to call out scam businesses such as yours. PS, yelp "not recommended" reviews-a bunch of 5 star reviews from bots in the States. FINAL UPDATE: The response from the owner has been edited to omit a bunch of lies that they were telling. The situation DID require a third-party review, as your poor business practices also impacted my business. At least my former tenant was able to have the situation resolved, and I'll know to dissuade any future tenants from using your "service" in the future.
Had a good moving experience, was quoted a number for the move with two movers, three showed up and managed to get the move done faster costing me less then quoted. Moved into a new home and they were very cautious to ensure nothing is damaged. Positive experience during a stressful time
I recently moved a large home and the move went absolutely smoothly. The team was extremely professional. Nothing was scratched or broken. And they finished hours earlier than I had expected. I highly recommend this company.
The moving crew (Ray, Alex and Devante) showed up on time and ready to go. No damages to walls, floors or furniture. The guys had great attitudes and worked at a fast pace. The only thing I would mention is that the minimum 3 hour charge DOES NOT include travel time. If I had been aware of the split charge structure, I would have planned my move a bit differently. Other than that, no complaints.

I booked with a lovely lady in the office and found her to be very helpful. Paid my deposit and come moving day they arrived perfectly on time. There were 4 fellows but I was assured I was only paying for 3 per my quote. There was minor damage done at the old and new location but things happen and I did not press the issue. The three young helpers were awesome, energetic, polite and very thoughtful. My issue arose when it was time for them to leave and travel to my new home. I was asked for the address which I gave to him he said he wanted the current address which I gave to him. I was told they would be having lunch and then heading to my place. My contract paid for 30 min travel time. 2 1/2 hours later they arrived at my new home. They said they did not have the address and emailed me but I am moving and not sitting at my computer checking emails. When I got billed I was charged the 2 1/2 extra hours at $185.00 / hr while they were MIA. I paid the bill because these were the movers the issue would have to be resolved by the office. I emailed the nice lady twice asking why I paid for their lunch hour and paid for their error in not keeping the address I gave them. WIth tax this is over $400. She has not acknowledged or responded to the emails or tried in any way to resolve this. The lack of response has left me feeling taken advantage of and scammed.
The trio of Lum, Fadi and Tony did an awesome job of moving my stuff. All things were safe under their hands. They were friendly and took extra efforts to quickly finish the moving. I was surprised that they finished quickly. Jesse helped with the coordination and one of the most friendly guys I worked with. They didn't arrive in time.. were around 5 hours late but made it up later in the evening with quick transportation.

Grand river moving was great, we used them twice in the span of 5 months to pack our house into storage units and again into our new house. They kept all our furniture wrapped in the storage unit to save the furniture from scratches and save time. The driver, movers and office staff was great! Thanks for a fast and easy two moves.
There are no words to express how happy I am with my movers. They adhered to my rather tight schedule and even assisted us with unpacking to speed things up even when we hadn't ordered the service. Thank you and God bless!
My second experience with them was absolutely terrible. They were 8 hours late without any communication, half the movers I was supposed to have, they did not put the beds and shelf back together as promised, broke off one of our piano keys, claimed they were ‘missing pieces’ of the bed and would get back to me which they never did. (The pieces are there, they just didn’t want to do it.) They dropped so much of the hardware when they moved that I missed some bolts when I cleaned up after them so now I have to get more to finish our bed.

Used this company over the summer. Fantastic job. The two guys that helped me out were super nice, polite and professional. They moved some really heavy stuff without a problem. Not a scratch on anything. Moved all my stuff in less-than half a day. It would have taken me weeks. Its in your interest to make sure all your stuff is packed up prior to your move. They bill by the hour. If everything is packed up and ready to go, they can get it on the truck and moving in a remarkably short amount of time and save you some major cash. If you're not ready to go...they bill by the hour :)

I have not used this company but my parents have. They were moved on Nov 2/16. Something was broken and they have been getting the run around ever since. The piece of furniture that was broken was older and it seems no one can find the hardware so the cabinet door can be fixed. They call many times throughout the week and are still waiting. Things were also lost and the company was informed of this and their response was to look where my parents things were stored and tell them the spot is empty. Barely worth the star they got. Plus side the guys on the truck were amazing. Up front staff not so much.

Horrible experience with this company. They moved our stuff into storage until we bought a new place. They placed half of our stuff in a shared bin with someone else's belongings as well. Once moving day came they brought some boxes of another person's things (as well as forgetting the inventory list) and when we brought that up they took the boxes back and told us the bin was shared so that must have been why. After the move was complete we quickly noticed that we were missing several boxes and personal belongings that had been in storage. Upon emailing and asking about this, they told us that our stuff was NOT in a shared storage bin and then proceeded to fire the two men who told us that. A year later , and several emails , and we still don't have all of our belongings from that move, including priceless antiques. Very disappointed and would strongly discourage anyone from using this company.
I had a terrible experience with this company. I booked them for 0930 on a Saturday. No one showed up. I attempted to call, email and go to the office, with no reply until 2pm. I had to rebook them for Monday at 0900. They arrived an hour late. I requested to speak to a manager, and a sales guy called me and completely dismissed me. The movers caused severe damage to our home and furniture. I have never experienced such awful customer service for a service I paid for. I do not suggest this company for anyone!!

My experience with Grand River moving was very unpleasant. They were abrasive, unprofessional and did not care about my customer experience or satisfaction. The company “who hasn’t had a scratched floor claim in years” left multiple deep scratches in my refinished oak floors in my upstairs hallway and bedroom. I spoke to receptionist who asked me what I thought was fair compensation for the damage they caused. I had the flooring company (who had just refinished the floors) quote me 400$ to fix the scratches. I was seeking 400$ compensation to pay the scratches to be sanded out of my floor by the same company who originally refinished the floors. I waited a week to hear back and only got a response once I called the office. I asked to speak with the owner multiple times but never received a call. When I was contacted via email, I was offered 150 dollars compensation or for one of “their guys” to come fix my floors. Seeing as I spent thousands to have the floors refinished, I did not accept either of these options. I gave Grand River Moving until Dec 13th to work with me to come to an agreement regarding my damaged floors. I informed them if we did not come to a reasonable agreement, I would be writing online consumer reviews and filing formal complaints with the Canadian Association of Movers, Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Ontario. Overall, the company was rude and abrasive via email. They were not willing to speak with me via phone to come to a compromise. I was accused of “resorting to threats and blackmail”. I continued to receive inappropriate emails after I stopped replying to the email chain. It’s shocking to me that a company cares so little about their reputation. I was kindly reminded by this company that that “movers don’t cover floors”. I have just never dealt with a business that cares so little about property and the general principles of respect and customer service. The whole situation has been upsetting and anxiety provoking. 0/10 customer service. I would never recommend this company to any of my family or friends just because of how I was treated. Read the google reviews below before booking this company. Clearly, I am not the only one who has had issues. Grand River Moving, if you are wondering why my reviews are so late, it's because I choose to enjoy my holiday season.
The moving coordinators from Grand River Moving were prompt and answered all my questions and they had a game plan set up, so it all worked well. And the moving consultant was excellent. The crew was really good and professional and worked hard to get it done in a timely manner, and nothing was broken on the receiving end. So they did a really good job.
The move was excellent. Darian and Alex arrived on time, were courteous and friendly, efficient and made the move for my elderly mother a very stress free experience, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend them.

Alex and Jarome were absolutely amazing. They worked really hard to help us move out of our apartment building in record time and were nothing but polite and adaptable when dealing with our crazy neighbors and fussy apartment management. They were super careful of all of our breakable boxes and other fragile furniture and everything made it to our house in the same condition we packed it in. I can’t say enough good things about these two and their great customer service.
I was surprised how great of a job they did, because for the most part moving is really difficult and it's hard to decide on which moving company to go with. I just want to thank you guys for the good job that you guys did to get me up and moved up with a great moving company.

From the time of delay to rescheduling a time for the movers to go back to former address due to unfinished move. - Customer service rep, Nicole O'Halloran, was combative and hostile when called out for not providing adequate updates, inaccurate information about when we can expect the movers to return to our house to complete the move, and also learning about the negative review on Google. If you need further examples of non-customer centric way that this company handles complaints, have a look at previous negative reviews and see how they respond. It is unfortunate because the owner Darian seemed to take responsibility for the delay and lack of follow up, but his customer service representative need further coaching on how to appropriately respond to customer feedback. ******************* Unprofessional, unethical. Will take your money and not complete the job. Customer service is poor and lacking. Sales managers Nicole and Jesse Betts are not responsive. I moved January 2 2021 in Hamilton..The movers Lum and Gerret were courteous, kind and professional and made a difficult day much easier.. I was notified by phone on my moving day that they would be delayed arriving which was appreciated..Overall a great experience.
We used Grand River to move our grandparents out of their retirement home, and they were exceptional! Nick and Darian were friendly, efficient, and handled each piece with extreme care. We will definitely be using them again and highly recommend anyone looking for movers to give these guys a call.

Hard working crew but very little effort taken to wrap furniture to ensure no damage occurred in transport, wood furniture scratched in multiple places. multiple tape guns, packing paper and unused boxes left behind without reply to vm to pick them up. All temp agency staff used so all they cared about was getting done asap! I would never recommend this company if you care about the conditions of your belongings.

Warning, DO NOT use Grand River Moving. We booked 2 months out (they took our deposit) and even confirmed the week prior. However, on the day of the move they did not show up. They were due to arrive at 9am, at 11am I finally was able to get in touch with someone who told me a truck broke down and would send the 1st available crew, that was the last I heard from them. We were left without movers 24 hours prior to closing and needed to move ourselves using a small cargo van, with 2 toddlers to look after in the process. There was no update at all, they simply do not care about their customers. They have since returned half of the deposit but there has been no explanation to what happened or apology. Please read some of these comments, there have been many similar circumstances. I urge you to look elsewhere for a trusted moving company.

I rarely have time to write reviews but this time, I decided to make time because I had a fantastic experience with Grand River Moving. This company is one of the best-run moving companies in the country, and I say that as someone who has worked in the industry in the past. We were very happy with the way our queries and issues were handled by Luis, who is their customer service person, and the way the movers did their job without any drama, delays or damage.
This is the second time that I have used Grand River Moving. Both times I found them to be punctual, professional and a very good value. It was a big move to a city over an hour away. Since they charge by the hour I was a bit worried about the time required but they worked very efficiently and made the move as seamless as possible. I highly recommend them.

Terrible company :( Quoted 6 hours, took 13 hours. Movers were friendly but unable to work to full potential as not supplied with proper tools to disassemble furniture. Promised 3 movers but half way through job was left with only 2, of which one was clearly "in training". Sofa delivered filthy as not wrapped properly. Was promised mattress bags but none were available. Overall very bad experience. Do not use!
I booked this company for a local move within Kitchener on Feb 1st. They took a deposit of 179.00 off of my credit card at the time of booking and they sent me a contract with all of the details via email. They were to show up between 2 and 5 pm. I called around 9am the morning of Feb 1st to confirm that everything was good to go and they had my correct contact information. The phone was answered promptly, read off the cel phone number they had on file (which was correct) and she assured me that the guys would call when they were on their way. A great experience up until then. However, 2pm came and went without any communication. I decided when I hadn’t heard anything by 3:30 I would give a call to see if they had any information regarding the ETA. There was no answer and it kept going to the moving manager's voicemail. Long story short, I have yet to hear from anyone at the company. Not only did the movers not show up at all, leaving me completely stranded, no one has followed up to my numerous voicemails and emails at all. And no one is bothering to answer the phone at all. I cannot believe the horrendous treatment I have received. Luckily I have found another moving company to assist me today, but Grand River Movers have not refunded my initial deposit of 179.00. As of this moment, I have not heard a word from the company. I will update the review if I do end up hearing from them to rectify this situation. UPDATE - I have received my deposit back. However, I should note I had to chase them for it. They did not contact me at all. I did not receive a phone call or a response to my emails. When, they finally answered the phone on February 3 2021 after multiple attempts to contact them, Nicole was very careful not to apologize or admit fault. She told me that she would refund my deposit and call me back with an explanation as to what happened. As I said, my deposit was refunded but I have not received a phone call to explain what happened. UPDATE REGARDING RESPONSE FROM OWNER: I have not received any such email that you claim to have sent. And, if you would have sent another moving company my way, shouldn't I have been notified of this and wouldn't I have seen a moving truck pull into my driveway? I have yet to receive any communication from your company at all other than the response to my review which is completely untrue.

We have dogs and there was dust/dog hair on the furniture that they were going to move. They refused to move us. they cited that it could transfer on their moving pads to somebody else's furniture and they straight up ghosted us and weren't going to return my calls. I gave them the easy way out and texted them. They still gave no definitive answer if the team was going to show up again during our regularly hired slot. they showed up earlier than expected by request and I granted that request. Then they left and said that they weren't going to come back. Ended up hiring another company I was going to provide an extra man for the same hourly rate and was hired in less than 10 minutes with a deposit. I asked one of the workers if they were just going to leave and their answer was well did you give us a deposit? clearly the answer was because I hadn't give them the deposit they chose to freely not engage with us as a customer. it is their right but my warning to anyone is that if you have a dog or a cat or any dust in your house everything better be absolutely smitten span before you call this company or they will refuse to move you. EDITED to respond I aggressively let them know that I'd clean up. They left. I did call back many times to state that the home had been cleaned up to the standards requested and hadn't had any reply back until I nagged the ever living bejesus out of you at a meeting you were taking to have you tell me to go fly a kite. You don't get to be a good guy or a savvy business owner. Your dust and dog hair problem was removed, but the foreign object lodged in your rectal cavity is still firmly lodged there and I'll vehemently oppose any good word anyone would ever have to say about your business on this principal that you clearly have an acumen for making money. Why do I say this? Because when I called back to see if you'd have the movers come back? You reassigned them to a job in less than 30 minutes to another job and thus you were making sure you didn't lose money that day. Great job, you! You rock! Make that money when and where you can. As you burn bridges with people the pool will get smaller. Maybe not small enough to make you care, but it is going to get smaller.

A friend booked them for a move yesterday. Took the deposit & never showed up. Or replied to multiple attempts to reach. Rip off. Will be reported to BBB if unlikely event they are affiliated.
We hired Grand River Moving company to move 7 hours away. They also stored our items for 1 week between house closings. The pick up went well, they were a tad late but the movers were efficient and very friendly. The truck was not big enough so they had to come back which incurred additional costs. For the delivery the weather was bad heading to our new home (winter driving around the Great Lakes) so they were about 5 hours later than expected. However they kept in contact with me during their travels so I knew approximately when to expect them. Again the 2 movers were very nice and efficient unloading our items. The biggest complaint that had was out items smelled like cigarette smoke. I contacted Nicole right away and expressed my disappointment and she was very apologetic and advised they would come up with a solution for us - which she did. Overall I was happy with the service we received.

Damage to many items, careless behaviour, and the company contract protects the company, ABSOLVING them of all responsibility. Their quote was less than other professional movers but for good reason. Their loaders were wonderful to start. Packed and loaded the house in Paris, drove to Bracebridge to unload into a storage facility. We paid for overnight accommodations. While unloading at the storage place one of the loaders became increasingly agitated. He started pushing and cramming our items into the space. When finished, heavy boxes were on top of fragile boxes as well as on top of fine furniture. Our tread mill was wedged between an iron headboard, and several heavy items were stacked on top of each other near the roof of the locker and left ‘teetering’ dangerously above. When we returned to the locker we found MANY damaged items. The tread mill was broken, many pieces of furniture were scratched and gouged, and who knows what still awaits us when we empty the rest of the locker in April. This is the response from Grand River Movers Good morning ******* I have responded to your email quite some time ago however it may have ended up in your junk/spam folder for some reason. As per the agreement you signed while moving with us, in order for coverage on claims to be applicable, the claim must be submitted in writing no more than 30 days after the move. With that being said you have also moved these items yourself out of the unit at which time the damages could have likely occurred. I apologize for being unable to do anything for you due to the circumstances however it is our policy preventing my ability to do so. Wishing you all the best. This company was a pleasure to deal with. From the initial contact to the final delivery of the contents, everything was as promised with no hidden costs nor surprises. Would like to mention that Luis and Alex , our movers, were exceptionally pleasant, efficient and very committed to doing a great job. ⚠️DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY⚠️ My boyfriends family used this company and I was there though out the process. They came 2.5 hours late and didn't even work for 2 hours. When it came to price they had to pay by the end it was $847 FOR 2 HOUR OF WORK. So when trying to contact the company they were ignoring all calls and emails from any of us. They got ahold of the owner who said they would get $225 back and still not nothing after a week! This place is just a scam and have just rude, ignorant, and incompetent people working there.

Thought I should share my Experience with you in regards to the Move from Cambridge to Woodstock. Feb 2020. I called and requested a Quote in December. I did receive a quote over the phone and Email From Jesse who is the General Manager and not the Owner. I did explain to him that we would have all the small items moved, and all they had to worry about was the Large Furniture Items. Dressers, Couches, Beds etc, nothing small. So we went ahead and booked the Mover as they came in Cheaper than 2 other Moving Companies, and they were also 5 mins down the Road from us. Which I thought would be great. The Move was booked for 9.30, they showed up at 9.45, but did not make it into my Place to actually start moving until just after 10am. When we first got into my place they pull out the Contract to sign and they went through it with me, and if they go over the quoted time then I will have to pay the Extra Time. My thought was, what is the point of a quote if you can still charge if you go over the quoted time, which was 6hrs as per Jesse's quote. I called Jesse, to ask the question. His response was did you read the fine print. We proceeded with the move, and it took from just after 10am to 2.30pm to load the Truck up, Way too long in my Books as I have moved a fair amount of times due to my Job. We left Cambridge at 2.30pm, and I drove straight to Woodstock. The Movers did not show up until 4.30pm. Once Again I called Jesse at 4pm to Inquire where the Truck was. They were 10 mIns away. When they showed up, I insisted I help move the Items into my house, as I believed they were stretching their time out, and knowing that anything over the Quoted time. That I would be charged for it anyway. It turns out they had a 1hr Lunch. And when the Movers showed up we could smell Alcohol on one of the Movers Breath. Health and Safety?????? So we were unloaded in 1 hr, which I think was only to me giving them a hand. When all was said and done, I had a few scratches on a few items which I am not concerned about, also a Mark on the Floor in my Kitchen where they just pushed and pulled my Heavy Buffet and Hutch. But as we are doing some Reno's it is not a big concern for us. Then came the time for the Payment, there was an extra hour on the Invoice. I called Jesse before I made the payment, which is made over the phone. As my concern was about the extra time I believe they took, he said he was busy and I need to Pay the Invoice and he would discuss it with me in the next few days. That was Monday. I waited until Thursday to call him again, and at that point he said put it in an Email and he will go to the Owner to Discuss. Which I have. It will be 2 weeks on Family Day 2020. I have not had any Response in anyway shape or form. I have left 2 Voicemail Messages and 2 Emails in Regards to what is listed in this Review. I am also missing 2 Legs from my Couch, and I have addressed that with Jesse on the VoiceMail and Email. To request they check the Truck and ask the Movers to check as well. Still no Response to the missing feet. I would expect some sort of acknowledgement from this Company, but nothing. It is your decision on how you read my Review, but next time I will be having a written quote with the Next Moving Company I use. And have them come out to quote before making a Decision. It will not be Grand River Moving. Colin! Additional Post on Feb 21 2020. I would like to add an additional comment on my Initial review. I have spoken with Nicole from GRAND RIVER MOVING over the last week. She has refunded me the equivalent amount for the time I had mentioned previously back onto my C/C. Which me and my Wife are happy with. I am still missing my 2 feet for my Couch, which Nicole is still working on, on her end. Unfortunately I have still not had any Response back for the "General Manager" in regards to the issues I have had. So thank you Nicole for your help so far. Maybe time for a Promotion Nicole!
Grand River Moving took care of my move today. Lum and David moved me from a third floor apartment to a third floor apartment with no elevators and didn't even make a fuss. The boys worked hard and got everything to my new place in one piece. Superb movers who offered superb customer service. Thanks again boys!!!
Forgive the long story but it explains why we are so very happy with Grand River Moving!...My husband and I travel for work so we have very little time at home. We had sold our home and hired a well known and well referred moving company to do the majority of our packing (to save us taking time off) and also our move. We were given a very pricey quote, however figured we were hiring a reputable company and they were, after all, going to have quite the job ahead of them. Fast forward to our packing/moving day - because yes, this other company was going to pack and move us all in one day - and come 9am no crew. Start time was to be 8am. Their sales rep called to check on progress just as we were about to call him and didn't know what to say when we told him the crew had never showed. 30 minutes later and multiple back and forth calls determined there had been a 'miscommunication' on their end they were not prepared to do our move that day. Period. What?! Talk about getting a kick in the teeth! After some frantic googling I came across Grand River Moving. My husband called and we had the best experience in dealing with Lee on the phone. He was very sympathetic and was also prepared to do what it took to help get us moved that same day. He drove out immediately to our home for a quick look, did up the quote and paperwork and with a couple calls confirmed that a crew would be on their way shortly. In the meantime I found a few willing friends and my mom to get packing. The two man crew arrived in about an hour from when Lee left us and then the day really started. Ray and Cory were fantastic. Positive attitudes, friendly and amazing workers. They handled all our furniture and possessions with great care and packed a beautiful truck. We were nothing short of impressed with their abilities...and strength! They worked tirelessly with us all to get the job done that night. Their great attitudes and kindness never quit and were as good at midnight when we saw them finally drive off as they were when they arrived on the scene (and it was a scene!) at 1 in the afternoon. Those fellas deserve a medal and we can't thank them and everyone at Grand River Moving for literally saving our day! Despite the terrible start to our day we were more than happy to see our money instead going to a company who truly cares about their customers. Thank you thank you!!
*DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY* By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company! Extremely unprofessional, rude, ignorant scam artists. Showed up 2 hours late with no phone call that they would be late at all, damaged property, overcharged, left furniture unwrapped out in wet conditions and the list goes on. After trying to contact the office with no response for days, finally reached Nicole in the office only to be called stupid along with other vulgar names and getting hung up on. After numerous attempts to contact the owner I finally got a call from the owner which agreed to give me a small refund which I still have not seen. Went to the office to try to speak with someone, not only to be threatened by Jesse (and Darjan the owner) in the office but got the cops called on us. This company does not deserve to be in business. If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible company beyond words. Do not use these crooks!
The absolute worst movers that we have ever had....showed up with a small truck that was to move a four bedroom house. There were to be 3 guys and only 2 came. We had to wait for 4 hours for another truck and two more drivers. Drivers were very friendly but did a lot of cigarette breaks and talking. Driver Darius said do not be to hard on Lee when you call ( Lee is who comes out to do the quote) that he always under quotes....yeah no wonder so he can get the business contract signed Was supposed to have picture boxes and wardrobe boxes, had to have driver go get them...was told that l would need 7 wardrobe boxes and only 4 were available and spent my time taping them up so they could be used all were broken and falling apart. Spoke to Lee today on phone to tell him our disappointment only to be told the quote was not guaranteed and that l obviously added extra stuff!! are you kidding me!!!! Than has the nerve to hang up on me ... Very unprofessional !!! Beware people do not use this company read the reviews l wish we had !!! As to the owner response people!!! we never once said we would not pay the extra..how can Lee say we added more??/ he gave us the qoute...we added more to our house....never once endanger his drivers...do not come give us a quote on everything that is in a house and than not honor that!!!!! I booked this company over a month ago. We were supposed to be moved at 9:00 am that got changed to 1:00 pm then that got changed to 4:00 pm and they never showed and wouldn't return my calls. I had better get my deposit back. ....Yes I did get my deposit back and I was originally the first customer but that got switched the day before and I didn't receive a call back after leaving numerous messages until two hours past my appointment time after 6pm. We were in limbo all I wanted was to know that someone was going to show up. I was also never asked to take the review down. Nothing about my statements are false. I get things happen but keep your customers in the loop. When I wrote my original review they hadn't shown up when they called after 6pm I told them not to come because I got someone else due to the fact we couldn't wait any longer.
I just want to thank you guys for the good job that you guys did to get me up and moved up with a great moving company. I appreciate everything they did. I will recommend family members and friends to this moving company. I just wanted to take the time to thank you guys with this review and everything that you did that was made possible for me. Moved from Kitchener to Ajax , they opened our beds and re built them in the new home placed everything where we wanted it , very fast and move like a machine , staff was very nice the movers were very professional.

Excellent service! I've moved 2 times in the last year and a half and both times I have used Grand River Moving . The first time I used them they exceeded my expectations so much that I wouldn't have even thought to use anyone else for the second move . They were quick and efficient, friendly and extremely respectful of my things . After my second move they even came back to get my motorcycle and store it for the remainder of the winter . I just picked up my bike today and was happy to see it was still fully wrapped and taken care of . For both of my moves and the pick up of my bike, I dealt with Darien. He was super helpful and very professional and polite. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a mover. I hope I won't be moving again for a very long, long time, but if I do, the first thing I will do is call Darien .

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Everything was good with the move until I set up my TV and realized they broke it during the move. Company completely absolved themselves of any responsibility and had the audacity to suggest it was broke before the move. Will never use again - and will let my network know they are not to be trusted.

What I experienced yesterday was the worst professional mistake that I have ever encountered. I booked Grand River Movers based on the great reviews that I saw and the fact that they seemed (seemed being the key word!) a larger and more professional company. I had them booked for the afternoon to move me to my new house and paid them a one hour deposit that was of course taken from my visa only to find out that on the day of the move they simply DID NOT SHOW UP or reply to my 20+ calls, emails and visit to the office. My moving day is a disaster! I am stuck on a holiday in the middle of a pandemic with no movers, no chance to rent a truck, no help and a one day time frame to leave the old house. This is unacceptable behaviour considering the fact that my money was taken and they did not even have the courtesy to call to cancel. I am not one that wastes my time on negative reviews but as a professional entrepreneur myself I will take my time and make sure to post this on all my social media to warn people. At the end of the day I should have gone with a small business and supported them instead of this heartless franchise. Do yourself a favour and don't book with them!! UPDATE: Here is the proof that they did book me and took a deposit.
Worst experience ever...owner does quote which was way off. I had to do three trips on my own because it would even come close to fitting in the truck. Workers were nice other than showing up 5 and a half hours late and dropping furniture, taking breaks every hour. Staff was ignorant and should not be able to make decisions without someone holding their hand. After loading the truck 3/4 full the workers stopped and said that "unless we get paid in full we are told by management to unload the truck or we will lock the doors and take my belongings to the shop, lock it up and we will deliver it on our earliest convenience". This was at 8 o'clock at night. No cheques.cash or credit, may be the most worthless customer service ever on the planet. After talking to owner about the horrible experience he hung up on me and wouldn't talk to me after i called back. Lack of testicular fortitude. It took until 1230am to finish unloading my property. IF THE MTO READS THIS THE DRIVER DROVE AT LEAST 1 HOUR PAST HIS LEGAL DRIVING TIME LIMIT. There is a reason that there are the same stories Lee, it's the same crap service given to people. It's all true people. If it's not true I moulding have talked to the toothless Ronda or know that you are extremely over weight.
The one star is for the guys who moved our stuff who were excellent! The company itself was very unprofessional. As we were having a new home built and could not move in right away, we had them store all of our possessions. When we called to check on them, they didn't seem to know where it was being stored. Several of our phone calls were not returned and their answering machine was always full. On our first moving day, they could not find our things and I drove out to their site to help them look for it. It was not there but at a different location. It took them a week to sort out all the issues and on final moving day I still had to drive out there to identify my things. They also needed help to load and unload the truck as they were short staffed. The manager (Jesse) was verbally abusive and unresponsive to our concerns. He even hung up on us several times! Very unprofessional.
These guys are GREAT! I had them move my stuff twice in the past month. The first time Alex and Luis picked up my stuff and brought it to a storage unit. Two weeks later Alex and Chris moved all my stuff from my storage unit to my new house. Everyone I interacted with was courteous and professional! The movers showed up on time, worked hard to get everything moved quickly and carefully! Highly recommend this company!

You tend to forget how stressful moving can be but from the first time we spoke to Lee, dealt with Tiffany and of course Chad, Corey and Ray our expectations were not only met but EXCEEDED by more more than you can imagine. We've used Grand River Moving many times now, within the KW area and moves to and from other cities. Jesse always seems to find us a slot no matter how busy they are (including Good Friday)! Lum and David were great to work with...very polite, respectful and hard working. As I've said in the past - moving can be very stressful but these guys manage to take the sting out, and make it as good experience as possible. Thanks again to the crew - this company has a great bunch of guys working for them....Always a pleasure! See you again in 4 weeks for the next one! Laurie

Sorry to say this last move was the WORST experience ever. They moved my parents from Kitchener to Cambridge, May 24th. We had a lot of damaged done to their furniture -- especially the antiques. When we first signed up, Jesse assured us they were able to handle antiques. (we chatted a couple of times and each time I mentioned the antiques). When the 2 man crew showed up, I mentioned the antiques 4 or 5 times. Several times I told to them about how fragile the furniture was. Upon unloading the truck, we had several pieces damaged. Antique table - leg broken off. Antique dresser, scratch along the side. Pine dining table - scratched on the top. Dining chair - seat scratched. Liquor cabinet -- indents from the use of a dolly. Destroyed a computer desk. Just to name a few. I have called Jesse twice and emailed with pictures. No one seems to care about what they have done or the damaged caused. No call back, no response. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS EVER!!
