Do not hire this company!!!! We had a signed contract on 6/2. They called today, 7/10, to say they can't do the job because they don't have enough guys. We move in 4 days!!!! We are in such a bind, as all other companies are booked this week!!! Terrible customer service and I will tell everyone I know!!!!!

Paid this company to pack my belongings, store them for several months & ship them out of state. Do not waste your money here. The packers did a very poor job of packing. Things are missing & broken. Several boxes were claimed to have "disappeared". They tried to give me someone else's garage tools & ladder. I would like MY things returned. The unloading side was good & efficient. The packing & storage was awful. Also make sure you get in writing the weight. They quoted it almost 2000 lbs wrong. A waste of $$. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is b/c the unloading side did well.

I am new to the Rockford, IL. area having moved here from TN. I recently bought a home here after renting for a year deciding if I wanted to stay in the area. I called StraightLine Moving Inc. and am very thankful I chose this particular company. Their pricing was very reasonable. The three guys that came out were very professional and very hard workers. They were very eager to keep me at the anticipated price quote. During the move they accidentally broke a tree limb off of a tree and covered my driveway of the home I purchased and was moving into, without hesitation they notified the co-owner of company. He came out with a chain saw and cut up the tree. The next day, I was told by the city that they would not take the tree the way that it was, so I called Straightlline back and before the day was over the co-owner came back out again, chopped up the tree branch and removed it himself. Way beyond my expectations of taking care of the situation. Very professional and customer focused organization. I would most definitely recommend this organization to anyone who is looking for a dependable, professional, reasonable, and customer oriented company.

The decision to move an older loved one to an assisted living location can be difficult. Once you decide to move, the last thing you need is a hassle moving them in. The crew that helped our family was phenomenal. They were on time, efficient and very patient. The cost was lower than I was anticipating and service was well above my expectations.

I highly recommend Straightline Moving, for any moving needs you have. They came to the house we were moving from about 10 days prior to the move and, did a walk through with me to identify the item the they would be moving, then wrote me a quote. The day of the move, they showed up on time, and went right to work. They met the time quoted time, and all items were handled with care. So, don’t break your back lifting and carrying items, let Straightline Moving do the heavy work, it’s so worth it.

I was relieved when I found StraightLine moving another family. I got the number off the van + called. Numerous times I asked “what happens if you break my 80 inch Curved TV?” AKA my husband and I’s favorite piece of “furniture”. Not only did he promise me that they had insurance as well as would do everything in their power to not break or damage anything and if they did “they would do everything to make it right to avoid unhappy customers & bad reviews” Upon arrival, Juan began to read me a lengthy “contract” and his helper got to work upstairs. I, on numerous occasions, asked Juan what happened if our TV was broken and he kept saying “Tv’s like that don’t scare me” Then proceeded to sell me “additional insurance” which he did not understand what he was selling or what the true depth of this “policy” was. I called and talked to Tim, who also assured me that the guys were great, explained that I should purchase this “additional” insurance to cover the retail price of our television & if anything happened he would turn the claim in to his insurance to avoid any negative actions. The guys got to work, they were quick & efficient which I was rather impressed by as they were on the clock. I did notice they seemed to be “manhandling” all our furniture but I trusted them as professionals. They didn't wrap anything, use moving blankets, or make anything “secure” with the exception of our 80 inch television, this was only because we still had the original packaging. Until, they were carrying out my sectional and I watched them scrape the front of it against our brick wall on the porch, then take our brand new mattress and place it on the ground outside. Fast forward to when we arrive at our new home, they began unloading all of our furniture & I began to observe the damage. Juan was spending an abnormal amount of time in our bedroom & then he called me in and asked if the TV from our bedroom always leaned forward, and pointed it out to me, and it was leaning so far forward it was almost falling off of the dresser. I told him no it never did that before, and he proceeded to spend 30 minutes on the clock trying to “fix” the base.This turned out to be the least of my worries, I began to observe all of the damages when they left. The broken base on the 60 inch tv, two pressure points in the screen of the 60 inch TV, A hole ripped in my mattress topper as well as visible dirt and debris, numerous scuffs, scratches & holes in my leather sectional, and much to my surprise….a rather large pressure puncture in the screen of the 80 inch TV that we were promised wouldn't get broken. I called the company that we purchase everything from to analyze everything & it turns out, the debris + hole void the warranty in our mattress & the way it was damaged was unfixable, both tvs need new screen panels,, and the sectional was done because the leather was no longer manufactured. Turns out, that TV’s should NEVER be moved by one person, or in the manner that they were moved, and this resulted in finger pressure points on the screens. My husband called Straightline and after going back + forth with Tim, he finally came out to visit us. At the end of the visit, he decided that he would offer to “refund our move” which at $700 was only a drop in the $13,928.00 bucket of damages. He kept trying to downplay the extent of the damages that were caused during our move. We asked him to just turn it in to his insurance like they promised, and he refused. It took hiring a lawyer for him to finally turn it over to insurance. At this point of dealing with their insurance, we find out that the “additional” insurance we purchased actually REPLACED + VOIDED our ability to get anything more than the $7,000 in insurance that I had purchased. 4 months later I have almost 14,000 in damages to my furniture and electronics,fees owed to a lawyer, and more.

Straightline Moving Company shouldn't be in business. They mishandle your property, lie to you, sell you fake insurance, and put you through the wringer when it comes to filing claims. Instead of paying them to move you, just throw all of your stuff down a set of stairs. You'd wind up with less damage in the long run. Don't trust them with any of the property that you worked hard to earn. It's not worth it.

I have a 450 pound glass table top that had to be manually lifted. I couldn’t find anyone to do it, so I tried piano movers; this is how I found StraightLine movers. They advertised they could move anything, and they did. They were on time, priced below what I had anticipated, and courteous. I would recommend them to tackle any job. Communication was excellent from the main office, and they were very accommodating with my work schedule. Call them! You will be glad you did!

Straight line moving turned out to be much different than advertised I was told there would be four guys with two trucks and only three guys showed up and it was raining heavily they did not cover my furniture with pads as they said they would and they were smoking the whole time in my yard in the truck with my things everything smelled like smoke and they were spitting smoke but out in my yard they did not come prepared with their own water they used my own water which would have been fine except I was not prepared to give them water and food. I would not use this place again!
