I moved yesterday with this company from a fourth floor unit to a third-floor unit in a different building but just across the parking lot. I was quoted 4 hours for a one-bed one-bath plus two storage lockers in the amount just under $500. They sent 2 people and the smallest moving truck I have ever seen. The quote was for 4 hours they didn't get done for eight hours and a move that was suppose to cost me $500 ended up costing more than a thousand. I have moved more than 40 times. I know people that do not move very well; this was one of the worst moves I have ever had. Before they left, one of them said to me that they had looked for a piece they had broken off a very special piece of furniture(and I told them that) and that they wouldn't charge me for the time they took looking for it. Wow! How generous. And I was a repeat customer. Not any more. Heard back from ownership. We have worked out an amicable resolution. Since they are willing to do something, I am justified in raising the review. Feeling much better with resolution. Thought since I had not heard back that this would be ignored. Not so! Very happy to report that outcome.

Boerman Movers are professional, prompt, careful, and helpful. They moved 6 rooms of furniture and multitude of boxes from my home in Naperville to their storage facility. Two months later they moved the same things from their storage facility to my new place in Naperville. There were 2 moving crews involved and both exhibited excellent customer service, professionalism promptness and helpfulness. They were very careful with my things. After 2 moves and storage, there was only one very small claim for breakage on an electrical rheostat on my headboard which a move-in person brought to my attention. The claim process was easy and was taken care of by Dan Boerman. I would refer my friends and family to Boerman's. Actually, I already did and they did a move for my daughter-in-law's mother.

We had a local move but it was a big one (two packed semi trucks)--Boerman was the only company that accurately estimated the number of boxes we'd need (300+) and how many guys it would take to move us (8 movers, 15 hours). We worked with Mike Boerman--he was fabulous: spot on with the estimate (even came in a little lower than expected), great customer service and awesome follow-up. (I also regularly had contact with Amanda in the Boerman office and she was also extremely professional and helpful.) Regarding the move--we had 7 inches of snow that day but it had zero impact on the crew. They worked tirelessly and remained cheerful despite the circumstances. Not one item was lost or damaged--the crew was meticulous with wrapping and disassembling the furniture and they made sure to reassemble all furniture and put the boxes in the correct rooms when off loading the trucks. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. We'd use Boerman again without hesitation.

This review is the same one I provided to Bekins customer service survey, overall, terrible service and would not recommend. My first contact with Bekins was with Nick Ariano. At first he was responsive. Our belongings were in Illinois at my in-laws house and we are already in California. We scheduled a time for him to come to my in-laws house and he provided an estimate the same day. I signed it and returned it to Bekins that same day. About 10 days later I sent Nick an email asking if a pick-up date has been confirmed, no answer. Then, Brenda Kidd became my primary contact. As the estimated pick-up date was nearing, I did not receive a 48 hour notice. This was important as my in-laws had to coordinate their schedules to be present. I sent Nick and Brenda this email: ---- Mon, Aug 19, 4:20 PM to Nick, brenda Hello Nick & Brenda, I am very stressed in regards to this upcoming move. I did not receive a 48 hour notice (as I was told) to when I can expect a crew in Homer Glen, IL. It was not until I called the office this morning, then Brenda returned my call to tell me it was going to be between 8am-10am. Then I received a voicemail from Brenda stating the crews' actual anticipated time frame is noon-3pm. As you know, I am currently in California and arranged for my in-laws to be home for the crew pick-up. The noon-3pm time frame does not work for them, there will be no one at the house after 1:00pm. I am in the PST time zone, so by the time I listened to the voicemail your office was already closed. I do not know what to do at this point. I do not want to delay my move, but I also understand someone needs to be present in Homer Glen. I feel there is a huge break in communication. This needs to be better. I expect a call ASAP tomorrow morning so I can coordinate a concrete time with my in-laws. Please, Samantha --- I had to call Bekins, they did not call me. Nick or Brenda did not acknowledge my email or concerns. Luckily, my in-laws changed their schedules last minute to accommodate. The only positive experience I had with this move was with the driver, Josh. Although he changed the delivery date on me as well. Brenda gave me a delivery date and time of Tuesday 9/3 at 8:00am. Josh later texted me saying he could not deliver until Thursday 9/5. This was still within my delivery window which was understandable. But I felt like I was given dates and times for pick-up, delivery, etc. that kept changing. If something is agreed upon, it is so difficult to change it last minute. Especially for people like myself and my in-laws who work and our schedules are not malleable. The loading and delivery were both efficient and timely. The delivery took no more than 1.5 hours with the crew. The moving crew was great. One item was lost in the move, our bed frame slats. We know they were loaded because we have the feet, no slats. The slats are not at my in-laws home. This is upsetting because now our only option is to have them remade for the bed, it is not something we can just order. I would like Bekins to cover this cost. If there are two words to describe Bekins and my move: Terrible Communication. If I have to move again in the future I would not use Bekins and not recommend them to my family or friends.

I used Boerman Moving two months ago for my first move and true to my first review, I hired them again when I was ready to move out of storage and into my new house. I specifically requested Ryan's crew again and they did not disappoint...top notch!! Communication was great and they were on time for the move...actually a few minutes early! I just had hardwood floors refinished in my new house and they went above and beyond to put down runners and put felt tabs on the bottom of every piece of furniture they moved in. My desk and bed and other pieces of furniture were put back together very nicely without any damage. Ryan took pictures of all the furniture at the time they were taken apart so everything was put back together exactly the same! All the doorways were protected and not a single item was scratched or dinged. The crew was polite and professional and actually made the move as fun as it could possibly be with their upbeat attitudes and high energy. If I could give this crew a 6-star review, I would. It was so reassuring to have them move me a second time, knowing that I had a great crew working for me and that everything was going to be done right. I have a hard time imagining a company or crew that would have done things better...all for a reasonable cost! Trevor was extremely helpful as we prepared for our move. The coordination could not have been better. Packing took a day and then the loading took another day just as planned. The guys were professional and took care of our stuff from start to delivery. No issues and everything arrived at our new home right as scheduled. It is never easy moving across country, but I had confidence in the team and our driver Robert was very good. I would definitely recommend for anyone needing a good price and a low to no hassle moving experience.

I received an post card in the mail advertising their services and all of the wonderful accolades they've received from Google, Yelp, Angie's list etc. Sounds great, right? Well, as I've discovered, words and actions did not align, at least in my experience. I reached out to talk to someone and get a quote almost a week ago. I was told someone would call me back to schedule an appointment and get a quote going. No one ever called back. Called in today to bring my request back up to the surface - and sat on hold for about 10 minutes before being dumped into an unnamed mailbox. I called back to provide some professional feedback to the manager, who sounded less than enthused to be on the phone with a customer, mind you - I never raised my voice, always remained professional - was only looking to provide feedback on my experience, and then my call was dropped. I understand this is a crazy market and everyone is busy. I expected that my request would take some additional time. What I did not expect, was the cavalier attitude this company had with a prospective client trying to provide feedback letting the business know that their promises are falling short of actual experiences. If I'm in management - I'm thinking that's a bit of feedback I'd be really anxious to hear. Looks like I will be throwing this post card in the recycle bin and moving on.

Moved from IL to AL with Boerman, which was my worst moving experience. Driver guy was very rude, careless, and disorganized. He called my properties "junk" and treated like bunch of garbages. They also inflated packaging (single tiny lamp shade in a huge box for example) and overcharged $1k higher than their estimate. Eventually I ended up finding number of damaged furnitures, countless missing parts, completely destroyed electronics, and numerous damages in our new house. They don't deserve even one star! Owner's reply below doesn't reflect truth on what really happened and only makes our level of distress even higher. Leaky-fluid/garbage was actually terrible outcome of driver's carelessness. He produced huge mess in my property by shattering 1.2 gallon of chemical container, which is toxic and flammable, left it for 3 days without adequate reaction, and refused to clean it up until the very last day. It is simply preposterous to see their fabricated story telling that we have requested to load that terribly toxic garbage in the moving truck, and driver kindly (?) refused.

Look no further! This is the moving company for you. I worked with Boerman Moving and Storage on an inter-state move from Illinois to Arizona and I could not have asked for a better experience. All members of my relocation team were very professional, timely and responsive. Trevor (Sales Rep) and Frank (Moving Coordinator) are the best in the business! They work very well together. Oh and the driver Ed and his team of local movers were phenomenal! They arrived on time and made sure each item was inventoried and carefully packed and secured. Once in AZ, Ed was able to deliver my items ahead of schedule which saved on hotel costs! Once again, I was given a detailed inventory sheet and checked off each item as they were brought into the house; very efficient process. I was quite impressed. Moving is not an easy task but someone has to do it right. Well, the Boerman family can get the job done for you. Although they were not the lowest estimate I received, they were definitely the best. No hidden costs or surprises and full value protection available at different rates. Give them a try; you will not be disappointed.

Amazing experience! My family had so much going on- we were selling the home we had lived in for 14 years on the same day as we were buying our new home. While we were at both closings, Boerman moving took care of everything with care and attention to detail. Because of how crazy things had gotten in our lives, we hadn’t fully packed everything. Boerman moving carefully packed loose items into boxes and helped us during a stressful time. They told us up front that they most likely wouldn’t be the cheapest quote we would receive, but after calling around, I found their pricing to be in line or cheaper than other movers. We contacted three moving companies to provide estimates for our out-of-state move, which included storing our belongings for a couple months while our new home was being finished. Boerman Moving & Storage was the last company we met with and we were very pleased with Trevor Turvey's comprehensive review of our move, and the expert information and advice he gave us. Based on his estimate and their competitive quote, we selected Boerman and made a visit to their Woodridge warehouse where our belongings would be stored and to see how the vault system worked. We were impressed with the size of their facilities and that Mike Boerman took the time to walk us through the warehouse and explain how it all works. We also met Melinda, our local move coordinator, who provided us with some gently used boxes, packing paper, and tape to get started. She was always available to promptly answer questions we had about our move, packing, and labeling. The day of our move, the movers arrived on time, and the crew leader, Jonathan, explained to us how the day would unfold. I used Boerman Moving and Storage during the pandemic. It was a stressful move, but they handled packing and the move itself. The guys were professional, they packed all my paintings and gear up, and I was moving to a building with a 2nd floor and I was concerned that getting to the 2nd floor was going to be difficult since it was staircase only, the building does not have a freight elevator. But they handled it up the stairs, a shrink wrapped sleeper sofa that was quite heavy. I created a custom order to swing by the furniture store and pick up the couch (it was new) on the way to the new place, and they took care of it and added to the order without an issue. Nobody wants to move with COVID but they were as good as advertised.

entire move was pretty much trouble free; packing up and moving out took longer than expected, but the crew and driver were all pros, and didnt break a thing. A thing or 2 is missing, but the driver contacted us and said he will drop if off next time he is through Phoenix. Unloading was fast, and hassle free, and only took about 4 hours, even in the desert heat. These guys are real pros, so if you use them, your move will be stress free, at least the part about moving your belongings!

Boerman and our salesmen, Nick, were a real pleasure to work with. My wife, 3 month old, and I decided we were going to move from the midwest to the coast -- a daunting task. Decided to pull the trigger on a full service move with Boerman and I am so glad we did! Boerman made the moving part a breeze. I feel bad, but I didn't lift a finger (promise, I tipped well). The hard part was driving across country with my wife and infant son during Covid. But Boerman did their job to perfection. I have never ever worked with a company so disrespectful, untrustworthy, and outright dishonest as Boerman Moving and Storage! The move across the US was a disaster when Boerman management decided to move up the date the furniture was being delivered to the new house with just 36 hours’ notice. When they announced this change, we were still only ½ way across the US ourselves, and the painters and carpet layers were busy working in the house under the assumption they had 4 more days to complete their work. Boerman did not tell us they could change the move in date after it was agreed upon by both parties. Boerman now had to find a crew to unload the truck and unpack with only 36 hours’ notice during the COVID labor shortage. They couldn’t find enough people and consequently they were here late into the night even with us doing much of the unloading and unpacking that we prepaid them to do. We ended up coming out of pocket for the painters and carpet layers disruption and extra labor and did a significant portion of the move-in ourselves due to the shortage of crew. Not only did Boerman not offer to compensate us in anyway, they later refused to pay on the insurance claim because the specific damage was not written down by them on the day of the move. Another critical detail which we were not informed was a requirement either verbally or in writing until we submitted the claim. Boerman is totally untrustworthy on so many fronts!

I don't do reviews often but feel compelled to in this case involving this company. I would highly recommend Boerman. I had the privilege of working with Mike. We had a few unexpected issues come up throughout the process of our move and I had to call Mike a number of times. He worked with me and was more than fair. He did not take advantage of us when our backs were against the wall. Rather, he did all he could to help us make every aspect of our moving experience involving his company convenient and easy. Further, his workers were reliable. They were right on time both days we needed them. They took great care of our things as well. Overall, I would encourage anyone in my family as well as my friends to use this company. You will not be sorry.

What a moving team at Boerman. It took 5 to move me out and in the same day. I had antiques that had been in my family for over 150 years and they took care of each one as if it was their own. Very professional crew. After move in you could not tell they had been there. They cover every path and stair and remove all when they leave. Very conscientious crew. I moved on May 18, 2016 with Boerman's but have waited a couple months to write this review to make sure nothing would crop up about the move (like overlooked damage). Now I believe I can safely write that Boerman's and the moving team they sent were excellent throughout. I sought them out based on their online reviews, and I was NOT disappointed. Before I moved, the estimator, Mike Boerman, came out. He was genuinely personable and professionally confident (confident, not arrogant) and an excellent representative for the company. The price he gave was in line with how much I had to move and, truth be told, I didn't go for other bids, feeling confident that I would get what I paid for. The three-man crew they sent were friendly, extremely professional and competent. They didn't hesitate to ask any question about special handling of an item and they were receptive to requests that I made. Moving is a drag, but if I were to move again (heaven forbid), I would definitely go with Boerman's.

Boerman moved my parents from their home in the western suburbs to a retirement community in Lisle and did an outstanding job! They arrived when they said they were going to be there and finished the job in less than the time that they expected. Our experience was outstanding from start to finish. We were provided an accurate estimate from Joe H. and excellent communication/follow up. The packing team arrived on our requested date and did an amazing job of boxing up our home. Mark our driver arrived the following day to load up the truck. He was really on the ball and put our nerves at ease that all our belongings will be taken care of during the journey. He kept in contact with us and gave us a 48 hour notice of his arrival. I would highly recommend Boerman Bekins to family and friends as well as use them personally in the future. Awesome job!!

I'm sure this company would be great if you work directly with them, but don't let them refer you to Bekins Van Lines for an interstate move! I paid almost $4000 back in july for a broken heirloom, busted boxes, shattered belongings, and a late delivery. They had to transfer my stuff into a smaller truck, and I think because they were in a hurry, they just did a sloppy job and left things behind. DONT EVER USE THEM! I had valuable things that costed me money, now they're all gone and I'm heartbroken! I filed a claim and it's still not resolved , here we are in September! So angry! Winter is comig...my coats are gone!

We had Ryan, Darius and two other guys today move us and let me just say WOW!!! They were efficient, thorough, so friendly and considerate! They went above and beyond and took extra effort to get a very large sectional through narrow doors by taking off the legs and doors!! It was easy but were determined to make us happy!! They even made sure to felt all of the bottoms of our furniture for our nice floors in the new house! Seriously, hire this company-they go above and beyond! Thank you for your hard work today!

We used Boerman for a cross country move. The only good part was the crew that loaded up our house we sold. They neatly packed our items into 4 pods and had them picked up later that day. No complaints with that crew at all. Here is where where fun starts. We were given a 7 day window for delivery. We were told our items would be on a large semi with other clients items. We later found this not to be true at all. We closed on our house 6/3/21. We were at our new house until 6/5/21. We had our closing day for a month before. I begged several times for delivery to be either on the 4th or 5th. Was told that couldn't be guaranteed. They gave me a window. So the weekend passed and we were told they were delivering on the 10th. The absolute last minute of their 7 day window. Made arrangements for my wife and kids to drive the 7 hours down to meet the movers. Got a call from the movers that they wouod be delivering on the 8th. That call came at lunch time on the 7th. I left a message stating that wouldn't work. In the meantime I told my wife. She had to take our kids from school, load our dogs and drive 7 hours to our new home. The lady from Boerman called me back 3.5 hours later and said she changed it. I asked her to change it back since my family was already almost half way there. She said that wasn't possible. Whatever. We just wanted our items. Delivery day is upon us. The truck shows up with all our items just tossed and loosely piled ontop of each other in a smaller truck. Our items didn't go on a large truck with several stops. So the 4 pods they loaded my items into now made up the inside of a smaller truck. The delivery driver had to be begged to drive it down since the intended driver kept missing work. So the driver hired a local day laborer to help him unload. Our items where delivered and they expected a quick sign off on all our items. My wife marked each item that we hadn't inventoried or inspected it. Here is where the fun really begins. Let's start with the ladder the movers used to unload the truck. That was my fiberglass ladder. Do I have that? Of course I don't. They never delivered it. Stayed on their truck. The only furniture they moved was a large sectional couch that was brand new. 1 piece was broken and 2 other pieces had damage to the stitching. I am currently missing tens of thousands of dollars worth of items. We painstakingly went thru our items. Our list of missing items has grown and grown. We are still realizing that we are missing even more items. Of course we paid extra for the insurance. That has done us zero good so far. Our claim was filed over a month ago and still no resolve. I can only think of 2 ways that you could not deliver such a large amount of items; they either stole our items or lost them. Neither of those is an acceptable explanation for me. Several of the boxes we did receive had severe water damage on them. My small fireproof safe no longer worked. Someone tried to open it. I had to break into it to retrieve the contents. They are all wet and smell of mildew. The claims department told us they are working hard to see if they can find our items. So over a month later and the insurance adjuster to the house already, we still have no resolve. Probably going to have to take them to court to try and recover our huge losses. This is nit my first cross country move. Used 2 different companies before without any issue. Onky used these clowns because a new neighbor is family members with the owner. Figured I would support them. Biggest mistake of my life. Save your $7,000 + and hire any other movers. DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS TO HANDLE ANY PART OF YOUR MOVE. YOU WILL PAY TO MUCH AND GET SCREWED OVER. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY LIFE. PURE TRASH. Update 8/6/2021. Email received that they are perfect and did nothing wrong. They claim we signed for our items. Every single line item was noted on that inspection needed to be performed. 5 pods loaded up in Chicago and a small moving truck with no pods shows up in Nashville. No pods. Nothing. Use any other movers.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had a terrible experience. We stored items with them and they said that our items would be put in pods that would then just be stored in the pods and then the pods would be put back on a truck and moved. They took items out of the pods and put them in storage and then put the items in another truck. Crew didn't set up beds correctly, they came with only a portion of our items and we had to wait an extra week for the remainder. The majority of our furniture was damaged and the crew damaged a door getting furniture through it. Their scam of free boxes in the beginning was false as the salesman came without any boxes. They promise the world and deliver nothing. Owner was horrible to work with. Beligerent, unreasonable and rude.

There were several unforeseen complications. Our driver, Rich, handled everything calmly and efficiently. Working with Boerman Moving was an incredible experience. This was our first time using a moving company as well as making a long distance move – from Illinois to California. With so many moving parts to a long distance move, working with Boerman removed so much of that stress. We started by working with Ken Wolff, who was the consultant who came to our house to review what we’d be moving and reassured us how the packing, loading, and move would be handled. Ken was very friendly and professional as well as set perfect expectations for our experience. He was involved all along the way checking in to confirm that everything was being handled to our satisfaction. The driver, Glenn, and the movers on each end of the trip were also exceptional. Several times throughout the experience, Glenn would stop and reassure me “we’ve got this.” Glenn, as well, was very friendly and professional as were all movers on each end. Glenn was very much in control of the load and move and clearly as good as they come. I would hands down refer people to Boerman and will use them again for any move I make.

I am planning a local move at the end of this month. A representative from Boerman had reached out to my place of business recently to offer their services. I figured I’d give them a shot for my personal move and try them out. The initial appointment set up was a pleasant experience. I eagerly awaiting my in-home appointment. When the day came, no one showed up. No one called to inform me of any changes. I called the office next day and gave them a second chance, this time a virtual same day quote. Again, we were not able to connect with anyone. So, don’t waste your time with the moving company… I hired March Movers. I was given a quote immediately by speaking to the owner directly. My move is booked. Customer Service really matters.

This was the worst moving experience ever! The crew that loaded our belongings were horrific. Evidently, placing all the hardware required to re-assemble the furniture into the "parts box" was not important. The kitchen table, dining room table, and 3 bedroom sets were all missing nuts, bolts, washer, screws, etc. They also destroyed a dining chair leg and gouged our kitchen table. The driver even told us she had never seen such an unorganized crew. The packer admitted to her that he broke the chair when he loaded the truck but somehow forgot to tell us. To add to the nightmare, the crew that off-loaded our furniture, left the base to our platform bed along with the spacers on the truck so now we have nothing to put our mattress/box spring on. We moved in August 9th and still don't have a fully assembled bed.
