I've used Simcoe Moving & Storage several times over the years and they are always great! The guys are very professional and courteous. They have always shown great care and respect with all of my belongings during the move. I would strongly recommend them!
They took 6 hrs to move my belongings out, damaging items in the process. On my move-in, altho I had informed Simcoe Moving and Storage that I had an elevator booked from 12:30 until 2:30, and despite numerous phone calls, the truck did not arrive until 5:15pm. When by 10:30pm, having watched two of the movers take numerous smoke breaks and leaving only one person actually doing the work, I finally complained only to be told they were within their rights to take as many breaks as they like. I also complained about their arrival time. At this point I was told I had attitude and if I didn't change my tune, they would leave. They then took their blankets and left with some of my things still on their truck. I tried phoning the police only to be told it was a civil matter and they couldn't get involved. I am 68 yrs old and recently widowed. There was heavy furniture left in the lobby of my building, into the elevator and on either side of my doorway in the hall. I was extremely fortunate that my super agreed to help me move everything inside my apartment. I also had to hire the son of a friend to help me arrange the furniture and assemble the beds which would have been the responsibility of the movers.
They are great people, their drivers are helpful and polite and they even do community work!
What a fantastic moving company! Every person I dealt with in this company was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Amanda at the office was friendly, efficient and accurate in her emails and phone correspondence. Rob made an accurate and transparent estimate of the costs associated with the move. The movers themselves, Ian and his team, were courteous, careful and professional when handling all of our things for a cross country move. They are the best moving company we have used and we have moved whole houses three times. I recommend them highly. If you are moving, call Simcoe Moving and Storage. The best of the best, bar none.
What a bad company stay away.very bad experience stuff broken they don't pay just make Excuses
For the second time in ten years, we have hired Simcoe Movers, first within the province and then across the country. This time we included the shipping of the car knowing they had the right connections to do the job properly. Gathering our goods meant loading a smaller truck that was needed to access our remote location, reloading onto a larger one, picking up additional furniture from a storage facility and getting it all together and delivered in excellent condition. We were not disappointed. Thanks to the entire crew from office to truck for organizing and executing an excellent hassle free move.
Everyone I dealt with before and during the move was pleasant and helpful until I realized my things were damaged. I informed the company of the damage and was assured that Rob would get back to me. I still have not had a response from him or anyone else several weeks later. I gave 2 stars for initial customer service but with damages and disregard, it may deserve a lower rating. I moved to a high-rise and was unable to keep an eye on all aspects of the move. It looked like the guys were being careful moving my things (for the most part) but there was a lot of damage that I didn’t see until I was unpacking and putting things in place. Before the move, most of my furniture was almost brand new and without scratches and dents. After the move, there is paint chipped or scraped off of several pieces, there are deep scratches in other pieces of furniture and glass and there were puncture holes in many of my boxes. All of my boxes and furniture were covered in dirty grit and there were chunks of grass rubbed into the shelves of my white sideboard. Additionally, they broke my bed frame when they forced it apart so that it doesn’t lock in place now and they ripped my box spring when they forced it through a narrow stairway. The driver tried to charge me more than $500 over the estimate but fortunately I had been given a guarantee that the cost would not be more than 10% over the estimate and they honoured that guarantee. I should have done a close inspection of my things before I paid the money because now that they have it, they are not addressing my concerns. I do not recommend this company and I will not use them again.
????????We received Our quote for Our move about a week ago. We have Our belongings packed. They still quoted Us $10,000. I hate to have seen the quote if they were packing it for Us! Thanks for nothing. ????????The rating is actually a -1 star.
I used Simcoe for my move in August,I think perhaps they under estimated the time it would take to load and unload as without the help of neighbours and my adult children the loading would have taken much longer and my stress level was rising because the house sale was closing and I had to vacate. I was not impressed that they used young children as loaders as they did not have the strength or stamina required to lift many of the items. I was also rushed after the unload to pay my bill and submit my insurance claim for any damage. I did this within 3 days of the move, I have since discovered many other items were damaged during the move which I did not claim. I have emailed the company twice and have called twice to inquire about the status of my claim I had submitted in August and both my emails and calls have been ignored!
The move went exactly as planned. The movers at both ends were very courteous and professional. They conducted the move in a very expedient manner. Having worked in the moving business myself, I was quite impressed with the service. I would fully recommend your company to anyone.
This has to be the worst moving company. We are very disappointed with the way the crew handled our possessions and the timeliness of the work. For most of the day the trailer was unable to be loaded properly because the only person who knew how do this was the driver and he left our house about an hour after arriving. He tagged some items then left around 11:00am. Some of the boxes were loaded by the remaining crew but they had to wait until about 8:30pm when the driver finally arrived before the rest of the goods could be properly loaded. The crew was very inexperienced and unsupervised. Although we we not watching the entire time we did observe several mishaps. Hopefully nothing was damaged during the times we were not watching. The two young boys spent a lot of time wandering around not knowing what to do. Without the help of my wife and I, it would have been after midnight before the job was done. We hauled all the goods from the shed in the backyard to the front and as well we tagged and taped dozens of items all because the crew was unguided and the driver was not on site. We were advised by the salesman, Rob Ware, that the goods would be properly wrapped while on the trailer during transportation but at 10:00 pm when we left, most of the goods were not wrapped. I'm finding it hard to believe that this was done properly this late at night with no lighting available in the trailer and the crew in a hurry to get home. We were also promised by Rob Ware that carpet and floor protection would be used but this was not done because no protective materials or tools were on the truck when it arrived. The white carpets on the stairs were completely ruined and our white rug and Turkish rug were walked on and stained. We had to advise Guy to roll up the carpets to avoid this. Only the white carpet was done and we had to roll up the Turkish rug ourselves to prevent further foot traffic. The crew also didn't even have basic tools to disassemble the bed frames. Luckily I had tools and did this myself. We were well prepared for this move and we had everything packed except for the items that Rob Ware told us to let the crew pack, such as glass items, pictures etc. To take almost 13 hours to get the items on the trailer and not even completely wrapped is not what I consider to be a comforting feeling for us.
Nice and professional people
