I cannot stress enough how OUTSTANDING this company is. Frank, Karina & the team are complete pros, and took so much of the stress of moving day away. They are understanding that moving is tough on people, and come right in to get to work. They helped to dissemble some of the bigger furniture and finished packing the last bits of items. They carefully wrapped EVERY piece of furniture, and handled everything with so much care. Karina even helped with the final sweep and she scrubbed out my fridge and microwave! Everything was over and above what I had expected. Moving into our new place was just the same, with furniture reassembled and bigger items unpacked. It was a BIG and difficult move, so we spent a lot of time with this group. So many laughs, and by the end, it felt like friends and family moving us. This company checks all the boxes. They are friendly, professional, responsive and punctual. There was constant communication between booking their service and moving day. Karina was very invested in making sure every step was looked after to our satisfaction. On moving day they arrived when they said they would, took great care that each piece of furniture was wrapped and protected before loading. Upon unloading, everything was repeated in reverse. There were no surprises and everything was completed in an extremely efficient manner. We highly recommend this moving company for your relocation needs. We would not hesitate to use them again.

They came to our place to take a detailed inventory for a moving quote but when we received the quote all we got was the hourly rate per mover and truck. No estimate on how long the move would be or how many men or trucks were needed. Not sure why they even needed to come to the house first as it had no bearing on the quote as they gave it.

The absolutely best movers in Barrie and the surrounding area. When I was researching and contacting multiple movers for quotes, I came across Hunt Family movers. This team of professionals where the perfect fit. Karina came to my home to meet with me and my family, she did a walk around of my home to see what needed to be moved and she was very informative on how to best prepare for my move including best packing tips and preparations I should do. I am so very grateful for her wisdom and information, she had brought to my attention a list of things that I have never even considered. This was my first major move my family has ever done and my stress level was sky high. By the time Karina had done her assessment and walk through, I felt like I was dealing with family and that a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I knew right then and there Hunt family movers were my only choice. Other companies gave me quick quotes over the phone with "approximate pricing", but no one else took the time to meet with me like Hunt family movers did and give me an exact moving quote. On the day of the move, the team showed up they introduced themselves to me and my family including my 3 young children. They even took the time to introduce themselves to my dog and get her comfortable with them being around and moving items. These guys were 100% class acts, they had a positive attitude, were quick and efficient, they took great precautions in covering carpets and banisters to make sure no accidental scratches or dirt could occur, and you could tell that they took pride in their work ; a true sign of quality professionals. Once the move was complete, they took the time walk me through the trucks to make sure everything was unloaded. They walked through each and every room to make sure items were where they needed to be so I would not have to move it later. Not a single item of mine was scratched, dented or broken. I am so impressed with this company! My move was a bit more complicated than others, since I had a 7 week gap between homes, Unlike other companies that seem to create drama and stress, Karina and her crew seemed to make all the drama and stress go away. Karina was very personable and attentive, delivered everything that was promised (and more!), and adapted quickly to changes and last minute requests. She even helped me to find safe, secure storage for my furniture and belongings while I was in between homes - and at a cheaper rate than anything I had seen. Staff were friendly, professional, and quick, and took care to be sure my belongings were secure. They helped to take apart bed frames, desks, dresser mirrors, pedestal tables, etc. so I didn't have to, and put them together again when I finally moved into my new home. The price was very fair - nothing was required up front, so I didn't have to keep track of any down payment. There was an issue with my bank when I tried to pay by e-transfer on the day of service, and Karina was very patient and understanding - again, no drama and only support. In all the chaos, I mistakenly left my washer and dryer behind when I first moved out of my former home. I texted Karina for help, and she called me back a half hour later to say they would pick them up and deliver them to my storage locker the next day. They did this, and did not charge me for the additional service - what other company would do that? I would have no hesitation in recommending Hunt Family Movers to friends and family, and will certainly use their services again for any future moving needs!

Hunt Family Movers moved my mom out of a large home in August 2018. Karina and her team were prompt, organized, courteous and very compassionate as the circumstances were difficult. All of the team worked extremely hard and it was clear they worked well together. The “extras” Karina and her team provided were invaluable - tote boxes, assistance with packing, excellent communication with us every step of the way. One of the team members even put together my mother’s bed in her new home so she would not have to worry about this her first night. Karina has maintained contact and come to have coffee with my mother just to check in on her and make sure she has settled into her new home comfortably - this is service you just don’t see these days. Karina is kind, truly cares about her clients and only has team members who hold the same values. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!

After contact with the remarkable staff at the Barrieview Retirement Residence we were referred to the Hunt Family Movers. Having moved 4 times in the last three years, we know what a hassle moving can be. As an executive with a multinational corporation I have experienced inter city moves in Canada as well as international moves to the US and South Africa. This seemingly small transfer from the 5th to the 4th floor was, without a doubt, the the moving experience of a lifetime. The team from Hunt Family Movers, led by Ms Hunt herself , was phenomenal. Their attention to detail was remarkable. They not only disassembled beds, but at the new destination they reassembled and made the beds from our fresh linen. Five stars barely says enough, these folks know what they are doing and make a move hassle free.

Hunt Family Movers moved our belongings last week. They were very polite, gentle with furniture and quick. Efficiency is not something you see a lot these day, but this team worked very fast and, in spite of the truck being filled to the brim, they unloaded at our new place, and we had still all evening to ourselves, to unpack our boxes. Men ate lunch pretty much on the run, at the location. Karina, the owner, is the sweetest person you can meet, working along her team, and keeping things organized. I think I met a great friend. They made what could have been a very stressful move a whole lot easier.. ....from having to reschedule our move-in date, keeping our contents for 10 days prior to move-in, to unloading on one of the hottest days of the season after driving almost 3 hrs to get there! Corina, Terry, Andrew and Ryan were our team! Probably one of the best things about HFM is communication. Always just a call or an email away and quick to respond. During the loading and unloading days, Corina would call us or text to say when they expect to arrive and keep us in the loop every step of the way. Unfortunately, I was not the customer of this company, but someone very close to me was. When called about a quote, the woman on the phone was professional and offered to come see the home to analyze the amount of work needed and appropriate fee. Despite being in a pandemic, the homeowners were open to having someone in their home, assuming that physical distancing rules would apply to the best of their ability. However, upon arrival, the homeowner excused themselves to go get a facemask as per local rules. The woman from the moving company claimed that she does not have one, nor does she intend to wear one while working, stating, "that's not our our company works". She said that if she has to wear a mask in our home then she's leaving! So she left, and that was that. I am never one to leave poor reviews, having worked in the customer service industry my whole life. I think this may be the first poor review I have posted! But I just wanted to share so others are aware of how this company may be approaching the COVID-19 pandemic. I would understand mask preferences in a personal setting, but this occurred in a profession meeting. EDIT*** After reading the owner's response to my previous review, I stand by my argument. I understand COVID has been difficult for many businesses to operate the way that they need to, or in the most efficient manner. However, this was just for a quote on our move, not the move itself. For someone to say that they cannot enter a home with a mask on for NON-MANUAL labour, is simply unprofessional. This is not an attack on your character or personal preferences, but in dealing with companies, there is a level of professionalism, respect and responsbility for safety to be expected. Although I was not the customer, I was in close proximity to the verbal exchange and believe that our response was rational and appropriate during this global pandemic. Masks are the recommendation of the government and public health authorities, and companies are required to abide by local bylaws. It is not up to me or anyone else to decide on the rules regarding the community's safety and health.

Karina was very accommodating with our move in date. She came by our house, took an inventory of all furniture and items to be moved and provided us with a quote for the move. However, what she quoted on as a "high end" time line was way below what it actually took her movers... we paid almost $1,000.00 more than what was originally estimated. The plus side is that furniture was wrapped well and no visible signs of damage. Some items were to be left in the garage, due to the basement being finished... even though items were clearly marked, those which were to be in house and those to be left in garage, they were mixed up.. items to be left at the old house were brought in error and we had to pay someone else to bring them back. The day before the move I had the bedroom carpets professionally cleaned. The workers did not lay anything down, walked all over with their outside shoes and needless to say, the carpets look worse than before the cleaning. Another expense we have to absorb. We discussed our issues with Karina and agreed to a discounted price, paid and all was well. At that point my rating would have been better however the next day she began texting and calling, on the verge of harassment. Claiming we took advantage of her. She was very unprofessional, raising her voice, making accusations. Very inappropriate for someone dealing with the public. In the end, we paid more just to have her stop the harassment. In addition to all this, as mentioned in other reviews, Karina and her workers do not wear face masks. As Karina was constantly coughing, this was concerning, however we did not make an issue of it. I am simply stating this, so that anyone who is considering using their services is aware of it. I believe that at times things do not go as planned and mistakes are made.. because of this I would have given a more positive review if it weren't for Karina's actions and aggressive attitude in the end. It was very disappointing as she appeared so nice prior to us stating we were unhappy with certain things. At this point, I cannot recommend The Family Movers in good faith. In response to Karina's post... as I mentioned, things happen... I was willing to give a second chance and considered using them again for the secondary move. However, after Karina's actions, we decided against using them again.

I can say that if you want a reliable, know what their doing moving company who values you possessions and is up front with every detail, this is the company for you. We hired the Hunt Family movers after another company (Get Movers) failed to show up with the second truck or return calls. Karina helped us by getting us moved asap in this untimely emergency. She was contacted the night before and had 2 trucks there there to finish our move. I can't thank Karina and her experienced, friendly and careful team for getting the job done. This moving company was exceptional. Everything was as organized and pleasant as could be on moving day. This company was hired by my grandparents for their big move, and I don't think we could have gotten everything done without them! They came to my grandparents' home to assess the space and trucks needed for all the furniture and pre packaged valuables and breakables in bubble wrap and crates before the big day. To clarify, I was not the client of this company but the unfortunate neighbour who had their property damaged by the movers ( I live in a condo building). I was initially approached by the movers asking that I make myself available on the day of my across the hall neighbours move so that I could open my door to allow for proper clearance for moving her furniture. I happily agreed and asked that they connect with me to confirm the date of the move, I offered to leave the door unlocked should I not be home so that they could have the safety clearance needed to ensure no damage to her furniture or to my door. Upon my arrival after the movers had completed the job my door had extensive damage, in fact the entire door needs to be replaced. I was shocked and angered and when the movers were contacted nobody took responsibility, and denied causing the deep scratches and physical damages to my door. I don't know how else that could have happened on the day of the move when the marks are clearly from furniture dragging across it. I have been contacted by the former tenant apologizing for the damage done as she is also still having issues with this company. I can't believe that in my good faith and cooperation that I would be left with the unfortunate responsibility of replacing my door because of the carelessness of Hunt Family Movers. The superintendent of my building has tried to call and connect with this company many times only to have them deny that they had anything to do with the damage. I am so disappointed and upset that a company that seems to give an image of being responsible would not have the integrity to provide any explanation of what transpired or even come to survey the damage done. I would have appreciated if they had at least come to discuss the matter with me even if the movers denied causing the damage, the responsible action would have been to ask for pictures or to come see the damage for themselves. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

If you are moving it doesn’t get any better than Hunt Family Movers! We are originally from Saskatchewan. We hired Hunt Family Movers to move us from one 3bedroom house in Innisfil to another home. It was the best experience! They were quick, efficient, and so friendly. Karina is a gem. The men were so nice and helpful. They are a great team, very professional. They did a walk through of the place and 3.5 hours later we were all moved into our new home. That is including drive time. They gave us the best wedding present we could ask for. They truly understand people and are willing to help anyone in a pickle. We called on Friday and they came Saturday. They made the experience worry free and we all had a lot of laughs. I am happy to highly recommend the moving services of Hunt Family Movers. From my initial telephone contact with the company, I sensed a personal interest in serving this customer which was verified right through the move to a warm, follow-up letter from the Hunts at the conclusion. The quote they provided clearly outlined the services they would provide. They held true to their axiom, “ We go the extra mile for you on your move day.” Karina supervised all aspects of the move and her crew worked with her to ensure a smooth operation. The company responded on short notice to my request for a specific date, a week prior to Christmas. There were multiple drop-offs required and an obligatory Covid sanitation at one destination, which Karina co-ordinated with the specific agent. She kept us informed at all times and worked simultaneously with two of us on the telephone and one on-site, to set up the items for loading the next day. Her professional experience and reassuring comments reduced for me the stress of arranging this move from out-of-province on behalf of a relative. Best moving day ever! Moving has always been such a stressful time and I was dreading the day especially thinking about who I could ask to help me, etc. I was moving on Labour Day weekend and knew it would be a huge ask of friends/family to spend their last summer weekend moving me. So I decided to hire movers which I had never done. I asked around and Hunt Family movers was mentioned a few times. I called a few companies for quotes but when I called Hunt Family I received a personal call from Karina, who explained their process in detail and we set up a time for her to come by to give me an estimate. Karina told me she understood how stressful and emotional a move can be and it was her goal to make my move as stress free as possible. And she did just that. From lending me packing bins and materials to transporting some delicate items personally (including my daughters bunny!), Karina supervised the day like the pro she is and the whole move went like clockwork. My furniture was wrapped and packed with care, loaded and unloaded exactly where I asked. The experience didnt end there - Karina and Frank went above and beyond when they found a portable ramp for my new home (that has stairs) so that I could have my daughter come and visit (in her wheelchair). If you have been on the fence about hiring movers- dont be. I highly recommend Hunt Family Movers as they really do everything they can to ensure a stress free move and at a very fair price.

We were very happy with Hunt Family Movers in our move from our bungalow into a brand new condo. The team was very efficient and courteous. They arrived on time and got to work right away. They put down mats to cover the rugs and every piece of furniture was wrapped with blankets. After loading their truck they then moved all our excess furniture that was going to our three boys into the garage. Unloading at the condo went smoothly and quickly. Karina kept us informed throughout the whole process from the initial meeting to the final delivery. One minor problem, a handle on an old tea wagon was broken when it was being loaded onto the moving truck, but was repaired quickly and satisfactorily and delivered back to us at the condo. We would highly recommend the company.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hunt Family Movers!! I was preparing for my move and didn't know who I was going to call, and then i passed Hunt Family Movers on the way home one day and thought to myself, "I want to support a local company", and then a couple of days later, it was coincidence, I received a letter in the mail introducing HUNT FAMILY MOVERS "Simply the Best", so I decided to call them. It was a quick closing on my house, so I needed to book a company fairly quickly. Karina came out that same day I called and walked around the house/property to quote me and she sensed my stress immediately! She eased my stress and mind by telling me stories about other moves she had and how they accomplished their moves. The next morning I promptly received a formal emailed quote. It was a pretty good price and she made me feel very comfortable, and she could fit me in with such short notice, and so i went with them and I AM SO GLAD I DID!! Karina is MY ANGEL, no one in the moving business has a touch like hers...she is totally hands-on! She even helped me pack some things! And she was always checking in on me and gave me updates as they went along, she knew how I was feeling and wanted to reassure me that everything was progressing as it should be. Her team is great and they are hard workers! They arrived on-time and ready to work. They moved quickly and efficiently and care was taken to ensure my household items were wrapped carefully and packed into the truck safely. No damage to the walls or floors either! Karina was around from the beginning of my move, until the end of my move. Even her husband, Frank Hunt, came to my house to make sure everything was in order! My experience with Hunt Family Movers, Karina & Frank Hunt, was amazingly unbelievable. The first time I spoke with Karina I was totally impressed. She was kind, compassionate, understanding as my situation was different but, not unusual. She was honest and sincere and her goal was to move me without any problems or work for me. That goal was met and exceeded beyond expectations. There is a reason it is called Hunt Family Movers. That being, you are made to feel like a Family Member. Nothing is an issue, punctuality is a big issue with me and Hunt Family Movers are on time. Upon arrival you are introduced to her team of movers and Karina is on site with her staff for all moves. Everyone works together as a Team, this is so important to function properly. Without Teamwork, you cannot operate. I was also on site moving from and to and was treated royally by Karina and her staff. I did nothing as I was told to relax and direct placing of furniture etc. Anything taken apart at old house was delivered to new destination and immediately put together in the same correct format. I know I made the right decision to hire Hunt Family Movers. Without hesitation, if I ever need movers again, Hunt Family Movers are the Movers for me. If you ever require movers, please allow Karina & Frank to look after your moving needs. I can guarantee you will not regret it. If I could rate higher then 5 Star, I would. They certainly would deserve it.

I had to give even one star to write a review. This company is the absolute worst ever. They didn't move all my items as promised plus broke some of my items. Plus they didn't secure the drawers on my dresser and when it was being brought down the stairs a drawer feel out and put a hole in my wall. Beware of this mover.

Hunt Family Movers truly are “the best”. The Hunt Team moved my family long distance last week. Karina, Frank, and Team did everything possible to make the experience as stress-free as possible. The moving crew was great, friendly and didn't stop for a second. We were so happy with how hard they worked. The owner, however, left a lot to be desired. From swearing profusely in front of me and in my home, to complaining about my profession, to asking to speak to the man of the house... it was a nightmare. And instead of providing the same excellent service their crew does, when things were broken by accident they pointed the finger back at us after all our items were packed impecably (they commented at the outset how organized we were). We used fragile stickers on all boxes that contained breakable items! The owner also miscalculated the the amount of space in a truck we would need and when we discovered that not everything was going to fit we were told we would be charged for the time it took for the crew to go pick up a trailer and come back - instead of making up for the mistake. I would not recommend this company. We are so happy with the crew, but the female owner was horrible, unprofessional and after touting herself as the best in Barrie we could't disagree more. Never again.

Not worth the one star. Not very cooperative during the trying times of moving. Refused to wear masks during covid contrary to advice from simcoemuskoka health unit. Saying it was hard for her workers to work while using a mask. It is hard to bury an elderly family member when they die from covid.

Movers Beware We hired the services of Hunt Family Movers for a cottage move on July 8, 2019 The date, time, location, terrain were discussed several times in preparation for our move. The team arrived (including the owner Karina) looking very unprofessional in dress and quickly with attitude. The driver was inexperienced and refused to back the truck down our driveway. Our driveway is frequently used to deliver furniture, roofing shingles, propane etc and it has never been an issue in 18 years. With little to no discussion Hunt Movers Left!!! There was furniture on the driveway and Hunt Family left with no support for our move. In quick order we were Happily Able to Hire Two Men and A Truck out of Barrie and there arrived early the next morning. Two Men and A Truck were so incredible professional and accommodating. They worked tirelessly to make sure each item was safely loaded for delivery. They were on time and had no issue with backing the truck down our driveway. I would highly recommend Two Men and A Truck and have since .

Looking for a mover and reading these reviews, I would definitely look for another company than this one. Read how Hunt Family Movers responds to any concerns by blaming and name calling. Calling customers "Coward" "Unintelligent" "Sneaky" "Take your business elsewhere" is not a way to resolve issues. It doesnt matter to me that they are a family owned and run business I expect a higher level of professionalism from a company.

We had Hunt Family movers do our move from our condo to put into storage. Then from storage to our new home . Our new townhome has four floors so lots of stairs and the young gentleman they have working for them had no problem moving our things to where they needed to go. We thought we would need to buy new box spring but they attached bungie cords and brought up to balcony and got it in our room. I cannot say how happy we were with the service and the price. You get one set price and that is firm. We did not have one thing damaged in anyway, that itself says alot about this company. This is not just a company these people treat each other like family. Due to my Dad's rapidly declining health, we had to move him urgently from the independent living floor down to assisted living at Allandale Station Retirement Residence. Because of Covid, I was unable to assist with the move. Hunt Family movers were recommended to me by Allandale. On Sunday morning at 8:38am, I called (not actually expecting anyone to answer), and was greeted by Karina. She mentioned her crew had two moves already scheduled for that day, but the second of which was actually at Allandale. I asked if it would be at all possible for the crew to move my Dad while they were there. Understandably, she said she would have to confirm and would get back to me. At 1:32pm she called to tell me they were ready to move him, and by 3:24pm they were done! I have to mention that this also included moving absolutely everything to make the contents of my dad's 400 sq ft suite look identical from the old one to the new one. They even hooked up his TV, hung photos, a clock and bulletin board. Their speed, attention to detail and customer service was spectacular. I would 100% recommend Hunt Family Movers to anyone looking for a moving company. Thank you again team!
