We had a very short amount of time to find a mover and also put our stuff into storage! I found Phillips to have the best service over the phone (as well as competitive pricing) so I chose them. The moving crew they sent were awesome! Very polite, personable, took great care of our belongings and showed a high level of professionalism. All the work was done on time and within estimate - more than happy to recommend them. Moving is the worst.. but these guys made it a great experience!

Had a mostly positive experience moving from Toronto to California, the movers at both ends took great care of my stuff. Katy and Moe on the admin side were helpful as well. The only negative (and this is a big one) is that they quoted me one price initially, and then charged me a higher amount once they picked up my stuff. Their reasoning was that the company raised the minimum weight amount from 2100lb to 2500lb, and also charged me August rates instead of July rates (which I still can't figure out why). This seems to be coming from their head office - so be aware that you might have to pay something different than what you agreed upon initially. I had no choice as they already had my stuff and I had left the country.

I used Phillips about 4 years ago (Toronto to LA) and was relatively happy. Hardly anything got damaged. They seemed professional and to take customer service seriously. Now, 4 years later, I was returning to Toronto so I asked them to handle it. They had a local North American van line company (Andy's Transfer) pack my stuff. They were careless and surly. Then, on the other end, some of my stuff turned out to be missing. The driver saw broken bins and told me. Also, he repacked some of the loose stuff in boxes. But the company claims there's no evidence of loss! -- even though their own employee was a witness! It's really surprising and sad. I accepted the high price tag, assuming that if something went wrong, they would take responsibility. But, apparently, once they got my $15,000, they lost interest. It's really too bad. UPDATE: I wrote my review after my second move with Phillips. Now that my claim process is finished, I thought I would write another, updated review. Surprise, surprise, the claim process concluded that the company did not have to compensate me for my possessions that they lost/destroyed -- despite the fact that their own driver had witnessed my lost/destroyed property. It's so sad when companies make mistakes and then won't accept responsibility for it. My claim was small. They could have just paid it and apologized. That's what I would have done. By the way, the claims manager seems like a nice guy, but did nothing to help me with my claim.

I can't say enough good things about Phillips Moving & Storage and North American Van Lines. From the initial quotation all the way through to delivery and dealing with a small insurance claim, I have been very impressed by the level of service I received. Laura, Katy and Maureen in the office were super helpful with my quotation and with answering any pre-move questions I had (this was a move from Toronto to the USA so it was a bit more complex than what I was used to). I opted for the full packing service (I highly recommend you get this!!! Three polite friendly men packed my whole one bedroom apartment in 6 hours) with the highest level of insurance (0 deductible), and even with this wonderful level of service and coverage, the Phillips quote was still over $1000 less than the other quote I received from a competitor! I had a brain fart occur and left my passport in a dresser which I needed for f light the next day and the owner of the firm, Peter, saved the day by coming in at 6 AM to help me get it from the warehouse!!! Thank you so much again for that - I am so grateful. Everything arrived on time (all my furniture and belongings were cheerily unloaded and delivered, in the rain no less, by ONE man!) and there were a few minor things damaged or soiled, but I put through a claim on the insurance and this was dealt with very promptly and efficiently by North American. Thank you so much for a great job, Phillips and North American!!! A+++

The movers were professional, clean, very fun to work with. They arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They did not waste anytime as they know that they charge by the hour so they do earnestly and honestly try to save you money. The only quarrel I have as a consumer is that they charge quite a bit. However, I also feel like the distance i moved was quite far between homes which is why the price of my move was a bit high as well. All in all it was a very good experience. Also - a message to phillips moving - one of the movers left his pocket knife at my new house. I'd like to return it so if someone can get in contact with me that would be great. Please do yourself a favor a don't hire this company, its a completely scam!!! we chose this company in good fate and they have just: ruined my household, broke my cars and their costumer service when you have a problem is terrible. Other terrible thing is that while you are paying them to do your moving, they rehire a bunch of other companies to do the job for them. now instead of just dealing with them (the ones we actually paid) we are dealing with other people who don't care about us (of course they don't know who we are!!!) I have done about 6 relocations and this is the first time I work with these people and the first time all the nightmare happen to me. Dont waste your money here please!!!

First off, the movers they contract amazing. Both teams were very fast and professional. My issue is with the service that Phillips' provides - their customer service was abysmal. The Friday before the long weekend Katy from the team told me our move was happening Saturday. We were out of town and as it was the weekend, we were unable to reach any of the 4 Phillips' employees we had been in contact with. We drove 2 hours to our destination only to finally reach Peter, who told us that the move was in fact happening on Tuesday. They denied ever having told us it would be Saturday and kept referring to the mover's policy that they are the ones who set the date, and they provide 24-hours notice. The next few days were a warp of me chasing down Phillips to get more information on our move, and also to seek compensation for the trouble they caused us. Their communication was inconsistent and I had to spend much of my time trying to reaching them to get answers. After this whole ordeal we only got one apology, days after the mistake was made. And by the way, we ended up getting 2-hours notice instead of 24 for our move, another piece of information I had to chase Phillips down for.

We were moving from Canada to the USA and contacted Phillips Moving for help moving our stuff. They picked up our belongings July 24 and Katy Duncan (their move manager) gave us a delivery window of August 12-27th. Today is September 1 and our stuff still has not been delivered. Katy Duncan cannot tell us when to expect delivery, It seems Phillips moving have lost our belongings. I would not recommend this company. They are pricey and inept.

I rarely write reviews but this company gave me such a tough time and insulted me to such an extent that I had to write a review to warn other people. Please don't fall for the great reviews on Google. I did and I suffered. Run, run, and run some more away from this company. I had the most frustrating experience in my life with this moving company, where Katy Duncan was the person handling my move. If you see an email from Katy Duncan, run away as far as possible. Because of her mistakes in handling my cross-border move, I received my furniture/stuffs 35 days late. As a result, I had to buy all necessary stuffs/funiture/kitchen items that cost me $1000+ to live these 35 days. Not only that, they held my stuffs hostage unless I pay them extra money for their own mistakes, so I ended up paying $200 extra besides receiving my stuffs 35 days late and incurring additional $1000+ on my own. Further, the psychological and emotional trauma they subjected me to was insane. Katy was incompetent and extremely rude. Besides she will blame you for mistakes she makes and won't hesitate to make false statements one after another. The company Phillips will protect her without giving any consideration to the customer's side of the story. I basically begged to them several times to give my case to somebody else other than Katy as I had lost confidence and trust in her. But they did not. In short, neither I nor any person I know of ever had such a frustrating, humiliating, and traumatic experience with any other company in buying any type of service in my life. I am deeply suspicious of the good google reviews for this company. If my experiences were anything to go by, they should receive zero rating (or minus rating if that were possible).

The move went without any problems. I liked the placing of runners down to keep the floors as clean as possible with your crew removing their footwear to walk on the carpet. During the delivery it was snowing and the crew kept wiping their feet before entering the house. Along with wrapping all items, the crew handled my possessions with care.
